Waze GPS signal dropping. - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Questions & Answers

Folks, hello!
I'm having this issue as shown in the video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnHveA_vk08
The GPS signal in Waze (and only Waze) keeps floating, on and off, on and off... I can barely follow a route.
Curious that GPS signal is perfect, I don't have any problem with other apps like Google Maps, Here WeGo etc., only Waze.
Btw, already re-flashed ROM (Jaguar r14) and tried all apps like GPS status & toolbox, with no success.
Anyone else experiencing something like this?
Regards.

May be it will be more effective to ask this question to Waze devs?!

I've tried waze forums, no luck

Searching for gps...forever.

My GPS will not work, but only for navigation, when I'm in maps or whatever else it knows exactly where I'm at but when i go to navigation it just says searching for GPS, and it never finds it.
I'm running CM7 RC2, with the minimalist theme.
Any solutions?
Are you sure what you are seeing in Maps is not just cell tower triangulation (coarse location)?
Install GPS Status & Toolbox (free on the Market) and see if you are actually picking up the satellites and if this app can get your location. My guess is you aren't.
The GPS issue with CM7 has been discussed thoroughly in the thread, so jsut go over there and do a search. There are a couple different fixes, the most common being to flash another radio.

You pretty well summed it up. OP's probably getting a decent triangulation off of cell towers/WiFi points to find him.
I've been using the app GPS Test in the Market to check my GPS on all the nightlies.
GPS seems to be generally working more often for people on the latest nightlies, I think #19 and later. Its working for me now since they added some GPS fixes.

GPS not working!!

Until few days back GPS was working like a charm.
Today I performed an upgrade of Google Maps to 5.9.
And GPS doesn't work!!! Searching and searching, not able to fix satellites!! Outside, sunny day...
Uninstalled upgrade, rebooted phone, reinstalled upgrade....
GPS doesn't work! On old and new version.
Any ideas what can cause that? Anybody experienced similar problems??!! What a disaster!
only in Google Maps or also in other apps (car dashboard etc)?

When I use Google search it doesn't work either.
I don't use apps with location but just checked with WeatherBug and apparently it doesn't work either!
GPS working fine here on .368 update using Maps 5.9
This is crazy but after second reboot it works again.
It's so strange!

If you don't use GPS that often, a fix can take a long while. I'd suggest a tool like GPS Test to see if it's picking up a signal and what the quality is like.
https://www.gstatic.com/android/market/com.chartcross.gpstest/ss-320-0-5
Those bars will tell you about the GPS signal. If GPS would not be working at all the bars would be completely flat. If you get some bars, it should be a matter of time.

Well thanks!!
I guess nobody needs 2 GPS test apps, but if you do then i can recommend GPS status.

GPS issues fixed?

I've seen a lot of reports about issues with B510 and GPS locking. I've suffered with these, especially on my home Wifi network...
Today there are new versions of Google Play Services and Google Maps on the Huawei App Centre. I've installed these and GPS seems to be behaving much better. Has anybody else tried this?

Location for Google maps

My location is very bad on Google maps. When I'm driving the position can't stay consistent with me it keeps on moving around causing it to reroute it or it's too slow. How can I fix this issue? I want it to be consistent like a iPhone. Freedom os
Same here. This monday I couldn't get the location in 4 navigation apps: Here WeGo, Sygic, Waze and Google Maps. I've sent a report to OP support about this issue and they told me to use stock ROM not Beta.
All fine here.. Works flawless. Try to reboot your phone.

GPS lag during navigation

Hi guys,
During the navigation on Google Maps, my displayed position is about 100mt or few seconds back from my real position. I noticed the problem increase when I turn.
I have a S20 Ultra snapdragon version. I used Maps for almost a year without any issue.
I restarted the phone. Cleared Google Maps cache and data. Reset the compass. Reset the GPS and downloaded the new data thru GPS Status app.
What else can I do?
I'm really getting lost.. in all the ways.
Do you think is a software or hardware issue?
Any help is really appreciated.
Many thanks
Hey David Im having the same issues. When im running using Strava the location frequently bounces around and GPS is practically unusable.

I just spoken with Samsung, after a GPS test they said me that it's an app issue and that my GPS is working fine. I'm not sure about that..
I hope someone already solved this problem.

Nothing. I downloaded and tested another app.. exactly the same problem.. must be a samsung problem. I hope a software problem that can be fixed with an update.
Sometimes it happens to work, i would say 1/5 times. I just installed the may patch hopefully that fixes some things.
