Google Play Store unexpected problems, also with other HTC App´s - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello together,
I´ve bought a HTC-One M9 from private last week. It was factory resetted.
While i start first installation, the first error came: "Mail" was closed unexpected. So i press "Don´t send it to HTC" and going on. Then it finished installation and my One M9 start with updates for some app´s and also bugfix update for Android 7.0. After installing the updates i tried the phone. Everything was working, but one function didn´t: the receiver button has no function. I pressed it, but nothing happened.
So i tried to reset the phone again, but this time with recovery mode. Factory reset successfull done, but again error messages with different apps:
- Message was closed
- Google Play Store stoped
- and other HTC-Apps also
So i had go on, when i finished installation the Play Store was not working anymore. If i click on it, he told me: Plastore was stoped.
This are all errors i get:
- Google Play Store was closed
- Google Play Store closed again
- Google+ was stoped
- "Messages" stoped unexpected
- "HTC Account" stoped unexpected
- repeater button has no function
- LED for Messages is not working
I tried to call with HTC, they tried different things while i was calling with them, but noting works. So i tried to do factory reset again, this time over settings. But now, i can´t finish the first installation, because when i type my google deatils, it displays: "Please wait" and doesn´t go on. But he shows me again: Google playstore was stoped.
Details about my phone:
- Android 7.0 (updated to newest)
- Sense (updated to newest)
- Original ROM
- S-ON
I have read something about RUU!? Is this maybe a solution? Is it someting different to normal factory reset?
regards
Marcel
PS: i am sorry for my english

Please take a look at the ReadMe thread. It'll answer all of your questions and probably provides the files you might need.
In addition, you might want to read the FAQ of said thread and get some information about the dead nand issue since you might be suffering from it.

[Q] Standard rom - Can't find or download any app from android market

Hi all,
I have a standard HTC desire on which I lately have problems with the android market app.
Yesterday I could not download any updates from installed apps - I got the "download failed, try again" message.
I tried to empty the cache from the market app, tried to restart the phone and I also found a suggestion to empty the android_secure folder on the sd-card. That didn't work either.
Then someone suggested I'd reset my phone to factory settings, but unfortunately without succes. Since doing that (both before and after restoring my backup'ed apps and data) I get the same message again. I am not able to update any app I have on my phone at this stage - they are displayed in the market app but downloading fails.
(I was at first able to select apps I already had installed on my phone from the market-website via my laptop browser and have them delivered to my phone, but that stopped working also - it weren't the updates anyway.)
Now every time I start the market app it crashes the first time I start it and then after restarting it displays the message "Application not found" for any app I select (either to be updated or new apps).
Anyone who can help me on this one?
Apparently the problem solved itself. I had the feeling the phone performed much slower though and did another reset to factory settings and since that everything works fine again!
Problem solved...

Delete your google account from the phone, then try signing back into it.

It says that I would have to do a factory reset on the phone. I wonder if that will cause it to unroot.
Edit:
Got it fixed did factory reset and put in my google account again and boom all good, thanks for the help

After cloning a samsung gio s5660 through a CWM backup I started experiencing the same issue. Heres What REALLY happens.
Google authenticates you in their services trought unique "keys" which are automatically generated upon system installation / factory reset, so if you clone your device or install a rom which has these "keys" pre-installed, obviously, your rom will only autheticate you in google servers if your phone is the only one using the service at that given time... Upon failure, your phone assumes to be the one who's wrong, and google servers won't autheticate you until you either tell your phone he is not wrong (by deleting the data from play store, which resets its status and errors) or you change the "keys". SO, what can we learn from this? deleting the play store data IS a temporary solution, and won't solve a thing. Let's delete the duplicated keys shall we?
Navigate with your favourite folder explorer on your android (I use X-plore, you can tell me anything, there's nothing better) to the following directory:
- "(root)/data/data/com.google.android.gsf"
Now you have two real options, either you may delete the all folder, which was the perfect solution for me, since my rom is prepared to re-create it upon phone restart and new keys will be generated, OR, you might want to just delete the contents of app_sslcache inside com.google.android.gsf whish are THE KEYS I HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THIS ALL TIME, YEEEIHHHH and reboot your phone...
Needless to say, take a nandroid backup before you do any of this...
Thank me later
For those who remember me from symbian s60v3 phones, yes, it is me, I'm back, and I've moved to the droid world, it's much better indeed

Application Installation error -- "Unknown reason -110"

Hi All,
First time poster so please be gentle -- I did search for this issue on google and within the forums first.
This is the first smartphone I've ever purchased.
My Inc2 is non rooted and non modded.
It has been working w/o issue since I bought it about 6 weeks ago until this weekend when it would no longer install updates or new apps from either the Google Android or Amazon Android markets.
Note that in both markets the app or update downloads w/o issue -- the problem happens when it attempts into install what was downloaded.
The status bar at the top reads "Installation of app X unsuccessful"
Downloads/Updates from the Google Android market result in an error message within the notification bar. Clicking on it opens a dialog box with Installation error "Unknown reason -110"
When downloading/updating from the Amazon Android market the error is less specific, I click Install, the standard screen opens confirming I want to install the app explaining what it will need access to. I click the Install button at the bottom of the page which results in "Application not installed".
Note that this happens with all app downloads or updates.
The steps I have taken so far:
1) restarting the phone
2) clearing cache/data from Applications/Android Market application (and restarting again)
3) clicking on button to remove all updates to Android Market application (and restarting again) --
Interestingly the version listed under the Market app is 2.3.4 even though it has reverted to an earlier version -- it looks very different.
On a side note: since this did not fix the problem, how do I get the newest Market version again?
4) unmounted SD card (and restarting again) -- since this did not fix the issue, I remounted the SD card
5) Used file manager to navigate to directory Download and look for files named: XX.apk, where XX is 1 to 20. -- but did not find any such files.
6) Per HTC support:
First, open the phone dialer and enter in *#*#checkin#*#* [*#*#2432546#*#*]. The number will disappear and your should see a notification of either Checkin Succeeded or Checkin Failed. If it succeeded, then new updates should be detected for your device and the application.
I received "checkin succeeded" notification
[Can someone explain to me what entering the combination above does --
what is the phone checking in with?]
Next, try moving any applications you have on the SD card to your phone's internal memory. This can be done by going to: Home> Menu> Settings> Applications> Manage Applications> On SD. Tap each program and then tap Move to Phone. Once this is done, check for updates again.
I received "Failed to move application" notification for each application on my
SD card that I attempted to move to Internal Memory
Finally, I recommend clearing the data from the Google Services Framework applications. In the Manage Applications Screen, go to: All> Google Services Framework and then tap Clear data. Check for updates once again.
Followed the direction above but have not received any updates by navigating
to Settings/Software update and clicking Check new.
For whatever it is worth clicking Status shows that my last update has name
HTC_ADR6350_LargeUpdate_3.02.605.1 with Status of Update Successful,
code of 200, date of 09/19/11 and time of 07:55PM.
7) A (perhaps) related development is that as of tonight, my Inc2 is no longer listed as one of my devices in the Google Android Market when I navigate the web page on my computer. Anyone know how to get this resolved?
Thanks in advance for anyone willing to help.

An additional development is that as of about 10:00pm tonight, my Incredible 2 no longer shows as one of my devices when I navigate to the Google Android Market from my pc -- could this be related?

Try clearing data in apps settings and reboot. How many apps are installed? When was the last time you deleted all your messaging threads and call logs?

Joshua,
Can you advise on the click path to accomplish the "clearing data in apps settings" process.
When I click Settings/Applications/Manage Applications, I just see my apps listed.
I do not use sms or text messages but I have never deleted all my messaging threads and call logs (again, I've had the phone about 6 weeks) -- I will do a quick search on the forum to learn how to take those steps.
Thanks for your help.

You're in the right place, just click on market and choose clear data. Wiping messaging and call logs, just go into the app and hit menu.

When I navigate to the Market App the "Clear data" button is grayed out.
Accessing the Phone app allows me to Clear data and I did -- can you help me with "hit menu" reference you made?
Also, I'm not sure what is normal but when I go into the Market Updater app, all the buttons are grayed out.
Thanks again.

Not the market updater app, the market app. They are different apps. It should be under the ALL APPS tab in applications settings.
"Hit menu" refers to the physical (or capacitive) menu button on the phone itself.
So you used the phone app to clear the call logs? Go to call logs and press the menu button on the phone.
Understood on the market updater app being separate from the market app -- just wanted to post an observation about the market updater as I wondered if maybe that wasn't the way it was supposed to look (all buttons grayed out).
I went to Settings/Applications/Manage Applications, selected the All tab, scrolled to the Phone app and clicked the Clear data button.
Upon doing so I received a Change Mode message that a SIM card was detected and the device was switching to global mode.
Do I want to stay in global mode if I only need CDMA?
Then navigated to Settings/Call -- but I was unable to find mention of call logs and pressing the physical menu button did not bring up anything.
Sorry if I'm being dense.
Not sure if this is related to any of the steps you have recommended but my Incredible 2 is now listed again in the Google Android market when I browse to it via my computer. I'll take any good news.
Thanks

Nope, go into your call log and press menu. Open the phone app as if you're going to make a call, go to your call history, hit menu and delete all.
When you were in the all tab, that's where you clear data for market.

Thanks for the additional explanation -- totally makes sense now -- Call history is now empty.
Have done the same for messages.
Now rebooting the phone...
Tested downloading an app and unfortunately got the same -110 error.
Do you have any ideas regarding these questions I posted above?
Interestingly the version listed under the Market app is 2.3.4 even though it has reverted to an earlier version -- it looks very different.

If I will only be using my phone in the United States -- is it better to leave from phone in World or CDMA mode?

cdma mode only
Can anyone help with these three still unresolved issues?

Android customer support indicated that they had received multiple reports of this issue but did not have a fix yet.
Worked with HTC support and ended up having to do a factory reset which fixed the problem.
Thanks to everyone for your help.

[Q] Failed Nokia X Root: Looping popups "Setup Wizard has stopped"

I tried rooting my Nokia X according to Kashamalaga's guide, but I after extracting the Gapps APKs suggested in the 3rd step I rebooted the phone a bit too soon - failing to change the permissions options for the files. As a result, when the phone turned on there was a loading screen of "Starting apps", followed by looping popups saying : "Google Play services has stopped", "Setup Wizard has stopped", "Can't do this com.google.process.gapps at the moment", and other similar Google app failures.
Whenever I hit OK, another one shows up. I can access the pull down menu, but I can't access the Settings link.
I tried shutting the phone down and went for a factory reset (by holding the Volume Up button as the Nokia logo turns up on the screen and selecting said option), but that doesn't seem to change a thing.
Is there any way I can get it working again? I'd be really grateful for your help and feedback.
PS: I can't access the home screen, hence I can't access the Application Manager and it's like.

Let me know if that works, Naresh. Keep me in the loop.
Use Nokia Tool Kit my friends.
It might fix the error as well as install G-Apps. It has various options.

HELP:

**sorry for the thread title, it won't let me edit it. Was supposed to be "Help: android.process.acore error after Marshmallow update"**
Hi, I updated my HTC One M8 (stock ROM) to Android 6 via an OTA update sent to the phone.
The update went fine - no error messages. But after the final reboot, I am getting constant (and I mean constant, not every few seconds) errors that all processes are stopping. Particularly, after everything else has stopped, I get repeated messages about android.process.acore, android.process.media, and Sense Home unexpectedly stopping (I guess these are the ones that keep starting up and failing). By pressing "OK" or "close" on these messages, sometimes I can press something very quickly before another message pops up. In this ridiculous manner, I was able to do/find out the following:
- Pressing the home button shows me the white screen with "htc" written on it, like on phone startup, or sometimes a black screen
- Pressing the recent-apps button actually does show me the recent apps and I can click on them, though most of them just close right after I open them. Some of them work -- like I can receive phone calls (I just don't hear the phone ring, and I have to press the "talk" button in between pressing OK on error messages).
- I can get into the settings screen. In this way, I tried:
- Disabling one by one every app I could, including Google Services Framework and Google Play services which were giving repeated "stopped" error messages - but I still get the android.process.acore & Sense Home errors and no UI
- Clearing cache & data for all contact & calendar app I could find, and also for Google Services Framework and Google Play services and some others
- Going into Developer Options and viewing active services - I stopped all active and cached services and process I could, to no avail
I also tried booting into recovery mode and wiping the cache partition.
Nothing works!! Please can anyone help me save my phone without doing a factory reset? Unfortunately, since I started the Android update by accident (pressed "now" instead of "later"), I didn't backup anything beforehand... and while my contacts and calendars are always backed up, my apps & preferences & media files are not. I also tried connecting to a computer via USB, but while the computer recognizes the phone, I cannot actually access the files (I see it as a drive, but when I open it there are no files or folders, and the HTC sync SW does not recognize it) - so no possibility to back up the files in that way...
Thank you!!
Yael
