instruction for self-replacement and editing of splash.img
Hello. You could not write an instruction for self-replacement and editing of splash.img for Asus ZenFone 4 Max zc554kl with Qualcomm 425 processor MSM8937
Not work for asus z010d with cusrom, trying the guide at link above.

Link to boot images ok, downloaded zip of samurai, flashed it, it still showed the old Asus splash screen ...
splash.img in ASUS Z010D seems to be in a different place, not in /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/splash
Does anyone know how to do it manually - i.e. which directory splash.img is in Asus Z010D ? Thanks

HOW TO INSTAL :
- do nandroid backup
1. reboot in to recovery
2. mount /system
3. install zip from sd card then choose <splash_boot.zip>
4. reboot and enjoy

yap.... u can unpack/repack a boot.img and edit the GIO.rle according to your wishes

boot.img is the kernel image, you can find it in the update.zip of ur rom

With this tool you can mainly create your own custom boot logo and/or remove warning message.
You can also list, extract, replace, remove image from a boot logo file or create a new one from scratch.

I've tried this ROM in my ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser but I've encountered a problem during phone calls, the receiver hears a annoying eco of his voice.
I've encountered the same issue also in ROM Viper OS Coral 3.1.1 and AOSP Extended 4.6

What do you mean about twrp treble.??
Works fine on ze00ed since I deactivated the WakeBlock app. If WakeBlock is active it's unpossible to enter SIM-Pin at the boot.
