Internal memory over consumption: Sm-p601 note 10.1 2014 edition - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

good day guys,,
the problem is like that,,, obviously the system is counting the space that is consumed by the application i've had installed on it, wrong, cause i'm very sure that it can't never occupies that much the system analysis is telling me,
i calculated the size of all the applications on my device it turned out to be around 9 GB
yet the System counting it for about 10.82 GB
= 1.82 gb is like geny in the air, i can't find it
2nd, i think the device is giving these applications wrong size any way,
so,, there most be something wrong with the system reading to the memory or the applications space,
1- i formatted the the memory through the reset factory function
2- wiped the memory through the recovery
3- re installed fresh official room by the oden,
yet still the same !!
what do you think guys,
screen shot & device information attached for your reference

I think on the GNex the whole SD card can be used for installing apps. Google did this on purpose to cope with the "Not enough free space to install" issues one had on other handsets.
Are you on Stock ROM?
Stock Rom, I thought that was the case as well, I think I may have found the problem might be to do with restricting background data? will test and see.
Go to Settings -> Apps -> Market -> Clear Data. Try again. It's a bug likely.
There was an "out of memory" issue on Honeycomb tablets which required a device wipe to correct. I hope you get this resolved. I'd hate for this bug to be in ICS.

[Q] some doubts with my new device :D (ram & mass memory, camera)

Hi guys
I bought this phone recently and I have probably what may seem silly doubts. They are about Ram memory and Mass storage memory amounts.
The phone it's supposed to come with 1 GB of Ram memory and 4 GBs of mass memory. But when I mess around with the pone I see different things:

Why just 723 mb of ram -mostly taken by the system lol. So where is the rest?
Other thing. Could someone upload any picture made with captivate's cam. Cause I've been taking around some photos and quality it's a bit crapy, I'd say it's even worse than my old N95, even with a higher resolution sensor. It's a pity I guess. Im afraid that this is not a "front line model" in shops so it carries worse guts within than other models like s3, s4.
I'll upload later some pics made by the cam.
By the way, I haven't found how to access mass memory with USB cable. I've read that you need to be root to do it in 4.xx and install some sort of software.
WTF IS THIS. IOS? Come on

[Q] What is the useable space on the 16GB 8.4?

How much space do you actually have available to install apps? My Epic 4G Touch is also 16GB, but I have very little actual room to install apps. I have moved as much as I can to the external SD card as well. I am still in a constant battle for space. When updating apps I often get the message saying it doesn't have enough space. I'd hate to buy a tablet for my son, only to find out I can't install but a small handful of games before running out of room.
I've only installed a couple apps ( no games yet ) and I have 9.76gb available so far

Is it formatted so all the space is together, or is is separated into USB storage and Device Memory like my phone? For example on my phone, although I have a total of 13 GB free only 2GB are available for installing apps. After installing 1.45 GB of apps I only have 256 MB left for updating apps. Even though most downloads are smaller than that I still get issues upgrading some of them.
I'm thinking it's all together, here is what I see

[Q] [Problem] Galaxy Nexus memory bug and reboot problem

Hello everyone, I have a BIG problem on my Galaxy Nexus ("yakju maguro" (GSM/HSPA+) currently with 4.3 (JWR66Y) stock installed).
In the last few months I used AOSP Lollipop and my phone worked well. Few days ago it has restarted suddenly and contined to do it after random time... Then I flashed again the AOSP 5.1 but in the TeamWin recovery I noticed that my phone memory was more than 13 Gb, but my phone is the 8 Gb version! I checked online for a solution and I flashed the stock image to try a "reset" of the bug, but nothing happened: my phone still shows around 13 Gb. To test it, I copied up to 11 Gb of files and it worked, so the memory is really bigger than the previuos one (or at least it seems).
Now I'd like to know how can I fix this problem? If the phone will start again with freezes and reboot, what can I do?
I hope there's anyone with any suggestion... I have really no idea about what to do. Thanks to all that will try to help me, and excuse me for my poor english.
P.S.: here are 4 images that show the memory "bug":

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",

}
Update: after I deleted the folder with the 10 Gb of files, the phone freezed and after a sound like a "pop" it restarted.

System Data

Hello,
Never had any issues with my G3 in the year ive had it until now!
Basically I've checked my storage as my 16gb internal seemed to be incredibly low (especially since I store everything on my SD), I then realised I had a huge 8gb +/- taken up under Misc - system data. Unfortunately I can't figure out how to reduce this size.
On Samsung phones you can enter the hidden menu and wipe dumpstates and logcats but cant find the option on my d855 hidden menu.
I've flashed a bunch of ROMs and done resets etc but the problem persists. Any help would be great.
Using apps like System Cleaner etc etc DO NOT do anything as the problem lies in system data.
Thanks
Curtis

UPDATE
I've managed to improve my situation by doing the following;
Deleted the 'Facebook.orca' folder from my internal sd (That was a massive 4gb- but for some reason didn't come up under app data etc)
Installed FolderMount and linked my DCIM/Picture folders to my SD to give me an extra 1.5gb of internal space.
