make sure that you have the gear 360 manager app installed it is probably not connecting to your phone I am not sure if the device itself shows any power indicators

it has a led indicator letting you know when its charging or when its on but that does not light up when plugged in.

Do you have an sd card in it? I think I've read someone saying it won't power on unless you have an sd card in it.

So I got mine in the mail last week and have had no issues. It's actually very cool. For anyone who hasn't gotten one yet or is considering it, I have 1 issue. The files are HUGE. A 3.5 minute video in 1080 is 2 GB. So I make sure you get a HUGE EXSD card, because you are going to do it up fast.

Hold the power button. It will chime, and display what mode it is in, if video mode, it will show time recording available on sd.

[Q] Imported Galaxy Nexus hard brick

Hey all. I now have an imported Galaxy Nexus that won't turn on, here's what happened...
I bought the phone back in April and haven't had a single problem with it until now. On this past Monday I woke up, got ready for work and unplugged my fully charged GNex from my wall charger as I do every morning. On my way to work I popped my GNex into the Samsung car dock to listen to music as I do every morning. When I got to work I popped out my GNex from the dock and sat at my desk for a while. I went to check something on my phone and it felt kinda hot, I thought nothing of it and kept working. Maybe 10 minutes later I checked if it was still hot and it was, uncomfortably hot, and the battery was at like 40% (this was about 40 minutes after I took it out of the car dock).
This made me think that by some chance a program was running crazy in the background, so I restarted my phone. Booted back up, plugged it into a wall charger I have at my desk, and let it sit for about 10 minutes. I then picked it back up and it was still burning hot, now I shut it down again, unplugged it, and pulled the battery out until it cooled down (about another 10 minutes).
Now I popped the battery back in and booted it up. Starts to get hot again and now the battery is at 4%. At this point I think "WTF..." and turn the phone off and let it sit there with the battery in. Keep it in there until the battery completely discharges (the phone isn't hot anymore) thinking that maybe it's having trouble reading the battery stats idk no big deal right? Turns out no, very big deal.
Let it sit there for an hour with no battery in it, then plugged it in and tried to power it on. Nothing. Pulled the battery, popped it back in, and let it sit with the charger in it for 30 minutes. Nothing. The phone isn't getting hot at this point like it was. So I try all the button combinations with the volume buttons and power buttons and still nothing. Even when I plug the phone in the charging battery animation doesn't show up.
When I leave it plugged into the wall charger now, the phone gets a little warm as you'd expect when you charge your phone, not hot like before. I took the phone apart and saw nothing wrong with it, but then again I'm not a hardware guy so I took it to a phone repair shop. He took a look at it and couldn't find anything weird with it either (besides it doesn't work).
In this mess I tried to contact Samsung and take advantage of my "International" warranty but no dice as I'm sure most of you know (this is my $450 lesson). Samsung USA said they won't even fix it if I pay them, I have to do it through Samsung UK which is a nightmare.
The last kick to floor was seeing my credit card charged for the desk dock that I ordered a week before the day this happened. I've ordered a new battery on the off chance that maybe that's the problem, if not I'll be buying another GNex with a US Warranty from the Play Store.
Any bits of hope anyone has for me? Is it even worth my while to ship it off to another phone repair store that says they can "fix it no problem"? Sorry for the long post, everyone always says to post as much detail as possible so I did!! lol. Thanks for reading!!
In the same boat, my Nexus just died today. It is completely unresponsive. Plugging the phone into the computer with no battery will not display any OMAP hardware.
hmm I'm wondering now what is the reason? is it 4.0.4 update? my phone is getting warm after the update too, and the cpu consumes 30% power. but its not too hot, only one area, on the virtual SD card area.
where did you order your GN from? depending on which website... they may "fulfill" your warranty if you're within their warranty time frame.

Off an Amazon retailer, I already checked and they said no :-( I should be getting this battery soon, hopefully that fixes it. I highly doubt it though.
Good news, the website I got mine from(Dailysteals) is willing to do an exchange or refund for me. Surprisingly, I didn't even have to go through a lot of trouble for them to issue an RMA for me. I just had to explain my situation with them about Samsung USA/UK unwillingly to repair the phone.

Nice! When did you buy it from them?
Mine just bit the dust today as well. Just contacted Handtec and hoping they'll warranty it. It was running just fine up until today and now ODIN won't write to NAND. The same thing that happened in this thread is what happened to my phone:

I just hope Handtec covers it. I've never dealt with their warranty before and I've been trying to find if anyone had any experiences with it. I remember people saying they'd cover it for 24 months which is why I went with them in the first place.

Good luck, they probably updated the warranty thing after the March sale because of the confusion with the warranty status.

Absolutely. I replaced the batter with the official Samsung extended 200mAh and it turned on, funny thing is though that the same thing is happening again...it still turns on but it's getting super hot and draining almost instantly. The phone shows that it's plugged into power but it says under the battery option that the device is not charging, weird. This is what it shows my battery stats as:
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0ByadaWWGExhWMjRTUUhQOHdXZnc
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0ByadaWWGExhWbFNiR0NSTkJGcUE
The first death drop in charge is when this all started, the second one is what's happening now. It seems to be charging okay now via PC USB which doesn't make sense to me, cause I tried my wall charger and my car charger earlier and it got super hot and said it wasn't charging.
My phone is getting hot right around the area of the "Texas Instruments TWL6030 Fully Integrated Power Management with Switch Mode Charger" as seen here:
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Samsung-Galaxy-Nexus-Teardown/7182/2
I'm gonna poke around with a couple things that I found on the net and hopefully resolve it, hopefully it can be fixed with software tweaks!!! Here's some stuff that I found:
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=22878
http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/mobile/RahZtFg39DU
Try asking Google ( if you haven't already ). They maybe able to tell you a more detailed reason, and may help resolve it. Never know and Gl

I see. So your phone is draining the battery and not charging at all. Have you considered doing a factory reset? Maybe invest in a battery charger for the time being until the phone starts to charge the phone properly.
Oh, just a follow up on my situation. My NAND is still broken beyond repair. Tried ODIN, OMAP flash, different USB cables, drivers and nothing will write to the NAND. I contacted Handtec and they told me to RMA it to them. So I'm gonna be doing that some time this week. They want original box and everything that came with the phone so I'm trying to gather all of that before I ship it to them. Hopefully the turn around will be quick cause this Galaxy S (which also had a NAND hardware failure and repaired once by Samsung then failed again) is getting old quick.

[Q] N7100 Suddenly Won't Charge - Ideas?

Hi all, I'm pretty lost here. My Note II (N7100) suddenly won't charge. Earlier today it charged just fine. I've only ever run stock with root on it. It's not the charger, it's not the cable. I've tried many of both, all of which worked before, none of which work now. I flashed back to stock recovery and did a factory reset, and the problem persists.
When I plug it into a charger while off, briefly a gray battery screen with what looks like a stationary 'wait spinner' will pop up and then the screen will turn back off again. I know the USB port is not totally FUBARed, because I can flash it with heimdall in Linux. It shows up in lsusb when in the bootloader, but not otherwise. The port is pretty much spotless, especially compared with that on my GNex, which still works fine.
I've tried leaving the battery out for an hour, holding the power button, etc. It almost seems like a problem that could be solved by discharging some capacitors, but battery pulls always solved those on my Galaxy Nexus.
Any thoughts on other things I can try?
I can't even figure out how to contact Samsung support in case this is somehow a warranty/hardware issue. At least on their US site the N7100 isn't even an option in the pulldowns they want me to go through.
After some calls to Samsung USA and Canada, I gave up. Apparently the phone is from the UAE, for which Samsung USA has no phone number, and their repair centers won't touch it if it's international. This is really stupid and I plan to write to Samsung about it. It had only been three weeks since I ordered it, so I am returning it to the Amazon seller for a refund. I'll let them deal with their supplier in UAE I guess. I hate to do that, but it seems to be a hardware problem and I have no other recourse at this point.
I cant really help here but i wanted to let you know i had the same problem with a white note 2 from Carphone Warehouse in the UK, just stopped charging after owning the phone for 2 days (i had also only rooted and running stock rom).
Carphone warehouse replaced the handset for me and havent had a problem with the new one so far but its made me take extra care when plugging or unplugging the usb cable ( i use Airdroid for file transfers now). I guess there must be a defect with a limited few usb ports on the note 2.
I thought it might be a 3rd party usb cable to blame (i use a blackberry usb cable at work but ive stopped that now and only use the official Samsung cable).
Sorry i cant help just wanted to share my experiences, hope you get it sorted, good luck!
Thanks for chiming in Steve, good to know I'm not the only one. I saw another post on here like that too, maybe it was yours? There was no discussion. The strange thing is ODIN worked just fine. Maybe a loose connection only on one/both of the power pins?
Nah it wasn't me mate, I had just put it down to me being heavy handed and thought nothing more of it till I saw your post.
I've seen a post in the Jellybam thread today about the charging being down to software but I don't know how true this is as i've yet to check the facts.
Did you manage to get it replaced? I remember it was the worst feeling in the world when the realization hit that my phone wouldn't charge.

Yeah I just invoked the Amazon.com return policy, sent it back for a refund, and ordered another one. It was supposed to arrive today, but apparently UPS had some kind of mechanical issue and now it's delayed until tomorrow. I just need it to get here before my next month's Verizon plan bills so I can cancel before paying another month.
Sorry to drag up an old thread but this has just happened to me, EXACTLY the same as OP.
I've reset it, wiped everything, re-flashed latest stock firmware. Tried 3 different cables and two different chargers.
Pretty sure the battery is good because if I take it out of the phone and charge it on the dock, it works fine. If I then put the battery back into the phone, the phones works in every way except it wont charge
I have most of my digital life on this thing, I am so screwed without it. Look like its a warranty repair job then? Ive had the phone about 3 months from Phones 4U :crying:

Happened to mine to T-mobile version. Never dropped it, never got it wet, only 1.5 months old.
WTF? Seriously?
Behavior:
Charges sometimes.
Charge sometimes stops at 70% or less.
Screen sensitivity screws up sometimes.
Data constantly being transmitted whether WiFi or cell network.
Never dropped.
Never wet.
Never harshly impacted.
Never rooted.
Tried factory reset.
Tried pulling battery.
Tried different chargers and cables.
Wondering if the trident aegis case put too much pressure on the charger cable by pushing it sideways with the flap.
Any ideas?
Hardware problem.

Check in the box, and if you have an EROS Group sticker on it that means it's covered under warranty here in Dubai, UAE as they are the main distributor here for Samsung products.
Sent from the rabbit hole.
This happened to me yesterday after spilling tea on it. I took the device apart as per this video, checked the connectors and reassembled it. Voila, the charger is working again. Obviously I take no responsibility etc etc.
My Samsung Galaxy Note 2 wont charge
I have also had this problem where my galaxy note 2 wont charge. I have tried all the chargers i have used successfully in the past and none of them will charge it now. I had the problem some weeks ago and now it has happened again. I only purchased the phone in January 2013. It is very frustrating. I have never dropped my phone or damaged it in any way what so ever. I have no idea what the problem could be but i will be taking it back to Telstra as i need it sorted out.
Same problem here - is this a generic problem with the Note 2??
I always put my phone on charge overnight , woke up yesterday and it hadn't charged. Swapped batteries - no problem - then put original battery back in, hey presto, charging!
But since then both batteries have run out and I couldn't get either to take any charge. Got it plugged in now and just like other people I've got a static charging ring showing, And no power.
Bought an external charger to try and get round this, but has anyone come up with a proper solution??

Strange...
a mate of mine just mentioned to me today that his note was charging strangely recently, apparantly he took an air gun (on low setting) to the charging port to blast out any miniscule dust n stuff and that fixed it!
Seems they're very sensitive and the smallest thing can make it act strange

Dead screen out of box

Just got my Note 10.1 2014 and was so excited to play with it and guess what? The screen is dead. I can hear it boot up and everything even the capacitive menu and back buttons make their annoying "water drop" noises and light up. Anyone know something I can do about this? I've already ordered a replacement from Amazon but would like to try and fix it meanwhile (I put 1 day shipping for a reason...). I'm really impressed with Samsung's quality control. Tinted screens, loose speaker grills, unresponsive tablets, and now one that has a screen that doesn't even work out of the box. Thanks Samsung!

This happened to me last night. My screen did eventually work, and it might've been related to it being charged. I still sent mine back to Amazon today, however.
You may want to read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2551881
When I did my RMA last night they only would do a refund since the 32 GB Black model was out of stock at Amazon, so I'm carefully reconsidering what tablet I want now... ugh.

Thanks for the link. I don't know if I want to open up the back cover and risk breaking anything as of now because I only got it like an hour ago, but I'm going to try charging it fully to see if it works later. That really sucks that they don't have it in stock anymore and Samsung should really be getting a lot of **** for this. Nobody wants to spend 500-600 dollars on a tablet and have it not work after a week let alone the first hour. I have been thinking about the iPad Air, but I like the S-Pen so much I don't know what to do. Sigh, first world problems. :crying:

Well, the wonderful thing (sarcasm) is that it was back in-stock this morning, but my RMA was already set up for a return and I was sending a case back too. I could probably tell Amazon to switch it back but at this point I'd rather just see this through and figure out where to go from there.
In my case I didn't remove the back. What I did initially was just plug it into the charger. At first it didn't even turn on then, but after a little bit the backlight did turn on in charging mode. Then it would work on the initial boot but not come on after it first turned off, and then after a while that ended and it just worked normally. FWIW, my battery was at 0 or 1% when I got it and around 15% when it started working completely correct, so it possibly is related to the charge level.

Charged it to 100% and didn't work. Oh well, my replacement will be here tomorrow. I'm pretty sure they forgot to connect the display connector or something. I can take screenshots and look at the screenshots through my computer with the tablet connected and even navigate through the menus and things. Don't know how quality control missed the tablet that didn't even have a connected display. Thanks for the help and good luck on deciding on a new tablet.
Mine arrived on Tuesday with a dead screen as well. And I had ordered mine from Samsung. Horrible customer service BTW.

Dead moto360

Hi there
I purchased a moto360 in the USA whilst on holiday. It has been working perfectly fine for the last month. Two days ago the battery died and it will now not turn on.
The charging indicator light comes on when it is on the dock however that is all. There seems to be no way to get it booted (holding for 25sec + etc)
Any idea what I can do here?
Have you left it on the dock for 10-15 mins and seen what happens?
yes- i have left it overnight
tried everything
Press the button for 1 minute.

Same thing here
I have the same situation for 12 days.
I leave charging on the original charger and on the qi charger of galaxy s4 for 15 min, 30 min, 1 hour, 2 hour, 3 hours, 24 hours and nothing.
Also, I had pressed and hold the power button for 3s, 30s, 45, 1 min, 2 min and 3 minutes and still nothing.
I´ve my watch since last Friday and it seemed to be dead EVERY DAY at least once but i got i back booting. On Monday i started a chat with Motorola. They said, I should hold the button for about a minute, but nothing happend. Then they said, I have to write Amazon (I bought the watch from Amazon). Amazon offered me, to replace my watch, but i have to wait at least 1-2 months again. So i said no and managed to boot it up by myself after 3 hours of waiting. However, by now i am very disappointed from the watch. BTW: Mine is also dead again at the moment.
Try to put it on the dock and press the button at the same time. Worked twice for me.
Edit: Booted up after 2 h
Yeah, the same thing happened to mine. I've tried holding the power button for up to 5 minutes, and still nothing. I'm calling Motorola today to see what the issue is.
I've tried it all too - still have a pretty paper weight
I'm trying to go through Moto Support which is proving very difficult
If anyone has a solution etc please post - my issue is i bought when OS on holidays - no support here in OZ
I just got done talking to Motorola. It seems this is a fairly common occurrence as one of the first things I was asked was if my moto 360 turned on. They made me hold the power button for like 2 minutes, and when that didn't work, they were happy to replace it for free. Hopefully their support is as easy for other people. :good:

I mean you could send it to someone in the US and get them to replace it for you if you know anybody you can trust not to steal it. Other than that, I'm not sure.

Spen pop up problem.

So been having this problem.
Sometimes when my phone is in the wireless charger.
The spen menu will open and the removed sound will sound.
Then it will stop.
Basically a small loop like i removed and replace it a few times.
Only seems to do this while wireless charging.
Not all the time. I believe today it happen 2 times

Try blowing out the S-Pen cavity with compressed air. If that doesn't help, you've probably got a defective contact.

I gave that a try. Ill see if it does it today.
Been going it since i got the phone but its randomly when wireless charging.
I did note when i check the spen status it was 70% then said 100%.
Im wondering if the spen is not charging while its wirless charging the phone.
Got my Note 10+ on Thursday, Took it into Samsung repair place on Friday as the S Pen was stuck in the Phone - the clicking part was broken on arrival. Got it replaced and low and behold, on Saturday the power button has stuck. Took it in to Samsung repair and now waiting for a replacement board as the power switch is on it's own board apparently and none are in stock at shop...
That's 2 strikes, one more and they will need to replace the unit entirely... Not happy as this cost $1700AUD...
That's enough to fly me to Mexico and back with a weeks accommodation...
Not happy...
