Samsung calendar on xl? - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

I just got the Pixel XL and I'd really like to put the Samsung Calendar widget on it. I'm currently using SolCalendar which is close. I know there are apk's out there. I've force stopped Google calendar and installed the latest apk out there but not having any luck. Without rooting does anyone know how to get this working? I'm running the latest 8.0 stock.
Thanks

Camera/App Issue?

I just tried depositing checks with my new nexus 7, when I do it with the Chase app I get just a static looking picture with no actual image of the check. When I try with bank of america, the app crashes... I tried the camera by itself and it works fine. Additionally, I don't think its an issue with jelly bean because I just used my nexus 4 to deposit the checks and had no issue. Any ideas?
The apps probably aren't updated to handle the camera.

I see, thanks for the info, is this something they usually update for?
Yes. You can email the developer and ask them if they would update for the new device. It's most likely a driver the app isn't compatible with at the moment.

Same problem here. Good to know I'm not alone. The pic shows up as vertical lines of color.

TouchWIZ has stopped working, note 4.

I have tried to to 'upgrade' my touchwiz to the new one, s6, but unfortunately failed to and now the launcher doesn't want to run at all. I am using another launcher in the mean time, but would prefer to get the old one back. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Would clearing the cache help? Never tried it, ?

Isn't it known that Google didn't enable this feature out of the box? I believe they may be adding it back in an update though.

Did Allo come installed on new Google Pixel smartphone?

If so, were you able to uninstall completely?
yes and yes
Not on my Canadian one, purchased through bell. Actually there's no "bloatware" on mine.
Verizon model from Best Buy and no it was not on it
Pretty sure it was only presinstalled on the Google Store edition

Allo does you should have it figured out assuming you just unboxed and turned on the phone the first time if it's there then yes. Android doesn't auto download stuff unless you have a virus.

It came with my Verizon Pixel XL 32, and Yes it can be uninstalled. I uninstalled it.

It came on my Verizon XL 128. Uninstalled it too.

I have the Verizon xl 128 and it did not come presinstalled. I had to download it. Weird

It was installed on my Verizon 32GB. I believe it was one of the 12 apps that was automatically installed upon setup ("Installing 1 of 12" apps part).
Messenger is default either way. I uninstalled Allo.

We may have to agree to disagree
Until they merge some of the apps I don't agree. Google Voice, Hangouts, Messages, Allo, Duo. Once they merge together/retire then it will be better.
Anyone get an unlocked version directly from Google? If so, was it preinstalled? If it was, could it be uninstalled or just disabled?

VZW System Apps

Not familiar with the following apps, are those ok to remove/freeze?
Already froze My Verizon without any problem.
Android 8.1 rooted, using Titanium Backup.
Any info will be appreciated. Thanks!

As far as I know you can just uninstall the preinstalled apps. I think it's three of them

Thanks for the reply. Although, there's only one problem, I actually do not have any apps, they only popup in rooted apps.
I think the reason behind is when I upgraded to 8.1, I had the sim in during the download, but then I took the sim out and restarted the phone then installed the update. So, I think maybe that's why they are hidden?
The MY Verizon app too was not visible in the app drawer, but showed up in the TB list. I was familiar with that so just froze it.
Are you on Verizon or not? I would leave any Verizon app alone if you are on Verizon minus those you can install/uninstall the the Play Store or Settings.
