There have been complaints about the LG POLED screens regarding screen uniformity. Hopefully Google gets the better quality panels than what LG uses on their own devices. I know that if I receive my phone and the screen looks like this, it's going back in the mail to be returned to Google the same day. I hope they don't screw this up, the Pixel 2 XL is such an expensive device that selling people screens like that on a $1,000 phone will not acceptable to a lot of buyers.

I somewhat am afraid of this also. I don't mind that LG is making this panel but I do mind if it looks like this.

I wonder if it's the same screen. The V30 display is HDR, 109% DCI-P3, 148% sRGB. The Pixel 2 XL has no mention of HDR and 100% DCI-P3.

It's gonna be the same. They aren't manufacturing different panels for the v30 and xl2.
Just in case, what is the out of the box test procedure to fully inspect screen for quality or defects?
How many complaints have there been? I've only seen the screenshot posted in the OP, which was posted by ARS technica if I'm not mistaken. I also remember David over at Androidpolice mentioning it when the brightness is set to minimum on one Pixel 2 XL unit. Unless we start getting reviews this isn't a widespread issue. Only two units have been confirmed so far, so no need to worry.
Not to mention, LG isn't the only one that has this issue, some s7 and s8 phones have this issue too:

Not known yet, have to wait for the reviews. V30 reviews might eventually shed light on this if they are released before any Pixel 2 XL reviews.
The screen is 100% DPI-P3. It says it on their website.

I wonder this myself. I guess I can stop by Verizon after work tomorrow and have a look. It's hard to see uniformity problems in the brightly-lit store environment though, these sorts of issues are best seen in darkness or a dimly lit room.

I went out to the Verizon store today and was profoundly underwhelmed by the XL 2 display.
First, it had a huge black band in the middle. Apparently it's not the only unit with this problem, someone on reddit posted the same issue I saw on my demo unit (https://imgur.com/a/CbfIH)
Second, colors were very dull and the whole screen had a hideous blue tint. I was instantly turned off by it. I've seen many many many displays through the years. Many phones have just fine displays, other's great (og Pixel XL, Galaxy S8...), but this Pixel XL 2 I saw was simply bad. Real bad for a $800+ device. I'm sort of hoping it was just this unit, but I've seen many reports already in reddit that are complaining about the same thing.

I'm pretty sure LG isn't reserving the "good" panels for the Pixel 2/XL. They are both getting the same screen. POLED screens from earlier LG phones have had the same issues. If it's something you obsess over, you will see it. If you don't go hunting for it, you won't.

Questionable screen is a show stopper for me. The xl screen is great. Thought I had a dead spot but reboot fixed. I liked 6p screen size. While a big phone much easier for old eyes. Thought $410 trade was good reason to switch to 2 xl same size as 6p but having second thoughts now.
Would like to hear more about the plastic oled tech. Anyone have link to a good lg thread on the screen?
Just checked xl2 out at verizon. My impression is that it feels good in hand. Buttons tactile dont like volume buttons are one unit tho. I like the texure of the body. Screen looks fine but the color seems too much black. Too much black in all color. I still see this oled color shifting in some viewing angle. Stereo speakers seems not that loud not much bass either.
Oh the vibration feels good like samsung kinda.

I don't disagree. So is having 4GB of RAM on a 1k phone. It's the technology they chose to have the squeeze gimmick. It's not like LG is reserving the good POLED screens for the Pixel 2 was my main point. It's also really hard to notice unless the screen is dimmed in my experience. Not making excuses, though.

The possible screen "issue" is when the phone brightness is turned all the way down correct? If so...non issue for me. I can probably count the length of the minutes on one hand of the time I've had the brightness turned all the way down the past few years.

Do you think Google is going to subtle improving quality control on the Pixel 2's, specifically the 2 XL?
I have a 2 XL that I received on the 20th. Overall the phone is great, but I do have the off axis color shift. I see some that barely show a color shift and others that show a more pronounced shift. I'm debating sending the unit back and waiting a couple of months before checking it out again.
Do you think phones in a couple of months will have less off axis color shift?

The color shift is the polarizing lens applied to the scree. Other phones do it too.
Google says this color shift is inherent in the P-OLED implementation. They might try to lessen the effect with a software update but it's a feature that probably won't go away.
It doesn't even bother me... I think half the sky is falling reports, are coming from Apple fans trying to do damage control because iPhone 8 sales were lackluster...

There are multiple levels of color shift. Some are ok and some are horrible, such as mine phone. Hence the QC question. Alot of these phones are abnormal, so saying it's normal is not legit, alot of fluctuating between phones

The simple fix is that if you are trying to write an email or watch a movie at a 45 degree angle from the screen... Tilt the screen towards you. Problem solved!

Samsung best remember googles android( Samsung has been trolling Google) put them on the top of the smartphone business.
Along with over-saturated screens and the android play store.
Now im seeing articles online about a Pixel XL 2 recall seriously,its not that bad.
I have a slight bluish tint but not enough to return this wonderful device.
Im really wondering what is the endgame here,does google keep lg as a screen partner? Highly unlikely at this point to many headaches.

Here's a couple more at various settings. Still looks nothing like the video.
I've read on a few sites that the blue shift is from the circular polarization filter over the OLED screen. I would GLADLY give up the circular polarization filter to have a PURE WHITE SCREEN AT ALL ANGLES.
My Nexus 5X the screen would be black in portrait while wearing my polarized prescription glasses. It was no big deal to see the screen though.

Designers dwell on small problems only to create larger ones. What they should do is not apply the filter layer to the screen, but add it to a glass screen protector. They could sell "clear" or a "depolarized" version
Then everyone's happy.
I find it really hard to gauge where my screen falls in the blueness scale when comparing to pictures people have posted online and in threads.
I wish there was any easier way to tell.

All the articles I've read and YouTube videos I have watched only address the burn in, blue tint shift and dull colors of the screen. But there's one more screen issue that everyone is forgetting. There is a lagging black pixel effect when the screen is very dim. With adaptive brightness on, turn your brightness all the way down and go in a completely dark room at night (usually happens to me when I'm using my phone before bed). Then go to instagram or facebook and find a picture with some black portions in it (try multiple pictures). Now slowly and slightly scroll up and down repeatedly. You'll start to notice the black pixels "lagging" behind the other colors and it looks as if they are moving slower than you scrolling the screen. Very odd, I've never seen it happen before on a display. Anyone else able to replicate this? I discovered it from Beau Hamilton from Phonedog on twitter.

well at least it's nice to know that someone else can replicate it too. I think it's just a characteristic of the display panel and unfortunately I always use mine in a situation that this issue becomes noticeable. Pretty sure an RMA won't do anything either as they all probably do this.

I definitely can replicate this easily, I am able to deal with all the other screen issues but the black smear is what bothers me the most

Exactly and who turns off the display on his phone all the way down, then goes into a dark room to find a dark pixel? I mean in what circumstances would you do that in daily usage?
That's just amoled pure black. That's what happens on all of them.

My s7e, s8+, note 8 does not exhibit this black smear problem, yes it's a issue with oled panels but Samsung has been able to technologically overcome black smear and you don't notice it on Samsung's. So I wouldn't say it's a defective problem with pixels display but just that they arent up to par with samsung displays

hmm maybe I can't notice it but I also tried it on my Nexus 6P and I didn't see the smear happening. Only happens on my Pixel 2 XL.

Well, as I explained previously, when I use my phone laying in my bed before I go to sleep the lights are off in my room so I turn the brightness down and that's when I notice it. Pretty sure it's a common thing to do.

Yeah no its not a defect. This is how all OLED/AMOLED screens are. Stock, this screen gets darker than most and you notice it more. If you turn the min brightness down on any amoled screen using root its the same thing. It has to do with refresh rate dropping with lower power to the display. Again not a defect.

Not my experience, I have not seen it to this effect on any modern OLED and definitely not on 6P which I can easily test.
Last night I tried to read Reddit in bed (pitch black) and the issue was blatantly obvious. I have done the same probably hundreds of times with my 6P and never saw anything similar.

i cant comment of the nexus 6P but thinking about it isent the 6p a lcd not oled..... ? i can assure you the samsung s8 and the s7 also do this , i tested on my partners phone(s) once i noticed this effect on my pixel 2 xl. Turning the brightness up does nothing its still the same , and you dont have to turn the brigtness down to notice it.

I have been struggling with the screen on my phone and i want to know if its only me who is having the grainy screen or there are more people having the same issue. Any solid color on the phone appear to be noisy and dirty. People in google are persisting that this is one of the characteristics of the screen and is normal. I cant believe that.
I have had one RMA and the second XL is the same as the first one, first device was shipped from the factory on 31 October and the second one on 31 november.
Should i stop overlooking this issue and live with it or should i push for another RMA?
Compared to my Note 8, the Pixel 2 XL is indeed grainy, however I found it's only noticeable on white/light gray backgrounds, and is hardly noticeable above 35% brightness. My friend's Pixel 2 XL is the same way so I assume this is "normal" for this phone.
The display is a grainy piece of ****. Had 4 phones, all the same, all noticeable even at max brightness on white backgrounds. Makes the screen look like paper. Photos look noisier when viewed on the phone as a result too. If it bothers you, best move onto a new phone.
I've heard the reports of a grainy screen. I've seen 5 Pixel 2 XLs (3 in a Verizon store, mine and a co-workers) and none of them have been grainy.

That's a different news. There is also another fact that its not visible if you don't really look for it on my phone but when you see the grain there is no way back. That's when you would say ignorance is a bliss. Still i would like to hear more from others if there is noise (i rather call it noise) on the screen or not.

Thanks for your reply im more interested to look into differences in grain visibility on pixel 2 xl's, because i have read very uneven comparisons for the same device and none is consistent. Some say they see it some say they don't. I can see the grain in all situations with 20% brightness and also with 100%, if there are some cases which phones are grainless (if that's even a word) i would like to report this to google. In your case all of what you have seen are dirty AF. ( They call it dirty screen effect on tv's)
I had 2 Pixel 2 XL over the last 3 weeks. 1st one did not have any noticeable grainy screen. Had to exchange for spontaneous reboots.
The 2nd Pixel I have now suffers from what you are describing, the graininess is notable from minimum to maximum brightness most pronounced on light grey and white backgrounds. In main setting menu, scrolling black text on white background such as websites and YouTube comments. In fact, this is noticeable to me on the 1st setup screen when you power on a new Pixel the 1st time. My looks like snowflake of old CRT screen, or using a matte screen protector. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to capture with any camera I have.

Both of my Pixels was manufactured on 13/11/17, and they also have different degree where blue shift becomes apparent, so I think it is a pure luck if the next Pixel's screen you get might not have a grainy screen that you will notice.
At this point, from all my research it seems most screen of the Pixel 2 XL will have some imperfections compared to latest Samsung screens find in iPhone, Galaxy, OnePlus and the smaller Pixel 2. This is due to the immaturity of LG's OLED screen technology and the lack of any batch or individual screen calibration at the factory.
For me, the whole package of smooth UI and fastest security updates means I will overlook the Pixel's screen imperfection compared the my Galaxy S8+. But it does irk me for Google to charge similar price as Galaxy/Note and iPhone, when they know they can not provide a visual experience anywhere close to those phones. Even the OnePlus 5T I compared in store have a much better screen in terms of non-graininess, lack of pronounced blue shift and maximum brightness.
This is a bummer. The grainyness on mine is faint, but definitely there. Kinda wish I hadn't noticed it but in all honesty I kinda wondered why some pics didn't look quite as good on my phone as they do on my wife's pixel 2. I made trade this for a pixel 2 and be done with it.
Don't have this issue. I prefer gray wallpapers and I don't see this issue. I just tried looking at all white wallpapers and didn't see this issue either. Over on Android Central there seem to be a few people with this issue but the vast majority do not seem to have it and/or notice it.

Perhaps. I see it on a couple wallpapers here and there but it's rare - but I believe those are just not high rez enough for this screen. That graininess commonly happens when resolution of the image is lower than that of the screen it's being displayed on as far as I know.

That is what i also think is happening because i tried to check how many would notice the grain on my phone this friday. The baits were my friends. And only one noticed it. The rest noticed after i told them what to look for.
It is really a shame for google to think they would be able to compete with pixel 2 xl in such a tough market with thus screen and the price tag. I had high hopes for this phone and i have waited for so long to buy a pixel.
Anyways i received an email from a high level supervisor in google's hardware department saying:
"I am sorry for the inconvenience caused to you due to this. As I can see that the phone is working as intended and there is no issue with the device. In this case, we cannot process a replacement for the device. If you want, we can go ahead and check for the refund options of the device. "
Now i want to see what other phone you guys would think i can replace this with. I cant deal with Samsung's bloatware so no S8 or S8+ or note 8 please.
I notice it on white backgrounds but then I realized it's an overlay and it looks grainy because the screensaver shows through a bit on app drawers and such.

I'm thinking of getting the Pixel 2, if I do decide to replace my 2 XL. It really is a fantastic phone other than the screen. Right now I'm trying to decide how's much the screen bothers me.

On the 3 in the Verizon store and my co-worker's I didn't have much time to look under lots of different conditions but on my own I've actually tried to see if. Different colored backgrounds, scrolling on white, different brightness levels, etc. Basically any situations people mentioned and still nothing. Besides the minor blue tint at off angle viewing (which I don't do anyways) I think the screen looks fantastic.
I somehow made a decision to go with the original pixel 2 xl (htc u11+) it has almost the same specs but 128gb, 6gb ram same cpu. Great screen.performance should be on par. It should be fine. What do you guys think?

Seems like a great device. Personally I'm going to stick with the Pixel experience if I trade my phone in. I'd rather have a smaller screen with all the benefits of a pixel than something outside of the Pixel line
It is what it is. If you can't live with it, then it's time to move on :d.
Screen is fine to me. Yeah it's not the best. But if you get a decent one it's good. The grain is there but only noticeable if you stick to the screen to your face and look out for it
If you see it in normal use I would say its a faulty screen
Just entered the phone lottery with a request for RMA. Leaving the Verizon store very reassured. The display on their demo model, while it had some blue shift, had no graininess. I couldn't believe how terrible my screen looked compared to the floor model. Fingers crossed I get a good one.
I'm either going to buy the Pixel 2 or the Pixel 2 XL. Is the display on the XL really that bad? Should I stick with the Pixel 2, or is the issues with the XL over hyped. Those that have this phone, give me all the reasons to , or not buy this phone.
Display is just fine, and if you end up having problems Google has been RMAing them. I had burn in on my last one and no questions asked when I sent the picture of it they had one sent. Once they added the different color modes ( I Still use natural as Saturated looks horrible IMO) I think it fixed a lot of peoples "problems" with it. Yea there is blue shift but you only really notice it on a white screen when you turn the phone. Rarely am I using it on everyday use and be like "damn I really hate this blue" Go get it, try it for the 14 days or whatever the return period is and if you dont like the screen go ahead and return it for the little one. I dont think you can go wrong with either though.

I can live with blue tint. I don't look at my phone from odd angles, so I could care less. I'm more concerned with the burn in, and image retention. I'm coming from a OG Pixel, and I don't have any issues with it at all.

Yea I mean is it the best display out? No. I grab my wife's iPhone X and I really see how inferior it is to that. But is it a bad display? No. I think it's just luck of the draw on if you get one that is gonna burn in or not. The one I had did it in 4 days. This one I've had for 2 weeks and nothing yet. But like I said. Google seemed really good about returning it when I did say that it had it and just had to take pictures to prove it. Next email was the link to put the "purchase" on new one until they received old one back. If the smaller pixel didn't have the bezels I would have went with that because after using an s8 just for the couple months from when I had my OG pixel to this one I kinda grew on the size with a big screen. Like I said, go pick one up and just try it out. You will love it either way

Both the Pixel 2 and the 2 XL have burn in although the 2 XL is worse. You'll probably notice your Pixel 1 has it to if you look closely enough at grey backgrounds full screen.
The Pixel XL 2 screen in my book is a lot nicer than the 2 even with the burn in. It's got much nicer whites (a little bluer) than the slightly red Shamsung one in the pixel 2 and you hardly notice the burn once you realise the phone is just THAT good.

My OG Pixel doesn't have any burn in at all.
I think the screen problem would only be an issue if you are OCD. If you try to find faults and stress about it you will end up hating the device. However if you ignore the screen problem and make the most of the device then you will absolutely love it
display is great IMO
blue shift is the only issue i can actually reproduce, and the ridiculous angle at which it occurs means i literally never experience it during normal use
I personally love the screen. For me it's better than original Pixel. But must say that i wasn't very happy until i rooted and tuned it a bit.
Out of box the screen was too dark for my likings. I'm not talking about the brightness level. What i mean is that darks are very aggressive in most cases.
However, i wouldn't go back to the original Pixel.
Black smear is the only thing I've ever noticed that's meh to me but it was there on other OLED displays I've used too. IMO...shiz on the display was overblown.

Smearing is way worse on the 2XL I have than I had on any of the phones in my sig. Love OLEDs for a long time, but the smearing is something that I notice that I'm hoping an update will address.
Other than that, the display has been fine for me. Blue tint not an issue and no burn in for me.

The screen is good. The issues are over hyped. And just so you know I am OCD with my screens and hate any sort of uneven tints etc. It took me 4 oneplus 5t to get one with a reasonably uniform screen. My pixel has a more uniform screen than all 4 of them. I will break down the issues and give. my experience. But keep in mind each unit may differ but if you get one that's as Intended this is what you should experience too
1. Blue tint. This is no issue. You might notice it if you tilt the screen at angles...but during every day use you never notice it, after a few days you forget about it all together
2. graininess. I think they all have this to some degree. But I can only see a tiny bit of grain if I put the phone in low brightness and stare at it unnaturally close to my face. So again never an issue in every day use
3. Black smear/black crush. Yes this is a problem. But you will only notice it at very low brightness, late at night.
This is actually a software issue. So it's nice to know it can be potentially fixed through an update
4. Touch problems. I noticed having to tap things a couple times when I first had it. But since the last update I haven't noticed any touch sensitivity issues at all
I don't think it's even a case of ignore the screen problems and enjoy the phone...the screen is pleasant and the problems simply are not there's unless you get a dud of course

The display is not good...unless you get a good one. QC is extremely inconsistent.
Other than the blue tint (which I don't really care about) mine is great. No complaints and thats coming from an S8 plus and Note FE which both have great screens

I agree on the black smear point. That's really the only real issue I have with the phone but it only happens in low light situations. I was able to work around it by using lux, cflumen, and an app called screen balance. I agree that the whole blue shift thing was blown out of proportion because when are you not looking directly at your phone: perpendicular to your face lol. On the other hand I do understand why people are upset. Lots of money spent therefore expecting perfection.
I have no issues with my display. There's been zero burn in, and I never notice the blue shift. It's definitely there, but it's only at extreme angles and 99.9 percent of the time I'm looking at my screen head on. Now that the saturated color space has been added the screen looks just as good as my boyfriend's note 8.
I've also had issues with black smear, but it's not as much of a problem for me as the black crush. Watching darker videos on low to mid brightness can make it difficult to see the details in a scene.
I got my phone a week ago and haven't noticed any problems with my screen. The blue tint I never noticed because I don't look at it from an angle. The burn in I haven't noticed but will try to keep an eye on it

I have read/watched a lot recently about how the Pixel 2 XL's issues have been "fixed" so I thought I would try one for myself. The first screen that comes up when you boot the device is all white, so I had a chance to immediately see if the blue shift was in effect. I am sorry to say it is TERRIBLE. As you can see from the attached image, my Nexus 6P shows a white screen while the Pixel 2 XL screen is quite blue, and the effect is worse in person.
This is very disappointing, and I wanted to let everyone know that this is still an issue. I guess it's not true that Google did something to fix this issue on the hardware/manufacturing side. About 2 hours after delivery, I already have everything boxed up and ready to ship back to Google. The Google chat rep tried to give me the line of "This is how advanced POLED technology works" but I told her to just look at the picture again. My Nexus 6P has almost no blue shift at all even at more extreme angles. Just sitting on the table in front of me should not make the screen turn blue. I use my phone like that a lot, so this would be something I would notice often on the Pixel2 XL
I have owned more Android and Nexus phones than I can count, and I am not trying to hate here. I just want to voice my disappointment and communicate to the community that this issue is still a thing.

I never heard it was ever fixed just that it is not really a nusense for people wanting all the other benefits vs the 6p I still prefer the colder pixel 2xl white over the warm 6p white but the Sony Xperia xz2 phones have the best I have seen but I have not seen newer Samsung phones that claim to have the best screen
Over the 3 I would still choose the pixel 2xl

Yeah i notice the same. But honestly in day to day use it isn't bad enough for me to consider another phone. I bought mine in November from VZW so it may be a newer model with this fixed to some extent

I just got the phone delivered TODAY. I checked the IMEI and the manufacture date is January 9th. That's not terribly recent but still months after release.
I might order another one after I get a refund and see if it is the same, but that would be my last attempt. I should not have to gamble and rely on luck to get a phone that I can use at a slight angle and not have the damn thing turn blue. This is ridiculous.
I never look at my phone in such extreme angles. If anything, your Nexus 6P looks too yellow to me in that angle. It's far from the best but head on it's fine enough for me.

I don't think having the phone on the table in front of me like that is an "extreme angle". I put my phone on the table next to my laptop like that all the time, so I would notice this daily. True I would not have a Nexus 6P sitting next to it to compare it to, but now that I already know the screen on this Pixel 2 XL turns blue my brain will keep making the association.

Just use the phone. It's not that serious.
I just received my phone this week...I have VERY slight blue showing at off angles, not enough for me to exchange or care. Previous phone was a Moto X Pure....This phone is amazing.

I guess I didnt realize people were still complaining about this. Ive had my P2XL for about 4 months now and this has not been an issue, let alone a deal breaker for me at all. And I too came from the 6P. In fact, I had to get my 6P out a couple of weeks ago, and having them side by side, I cant believe the difference in the screens. The P2XL looks much better to me. Is there some blue in the screen at extreme angles? Yes. Does it detract from the performance of the phone or any of its features? No. The 6P was, in my opinion, the best phone Ive owned of many, many, many Android phones, but the P2XL has easily replaced it as my #1.
Dont bother getting another one. We'll just see another post saying, "A week later and blue shift still not fixed! ZOMG!".

2. "... such silly issue": It's not a silly issue to me, and for you to say so is kinda rude. Who are you to tell me what is a deal-breaker on a device I spent my own money on?
3. "Simply pick another one"?? What other 6-inch, Google-made, clean-Android device is there? There is no other choice.
You and others can accept the device for what it is if you want. I don't want to spend $700 for a device that has an issue I will notice every day for the next 1-2 years.

1. You knew what you were getting into. It's had the shift since day one.
2. You didn't even give the phone a chance. Your pic was still at the setup screen. Seriously, you can get used to it.
3. He didn't say pick another Google phone. There's a good handle of alternatives with better screens if it is that serious to you.

I got mine last week from Google, black 64 and it has way less of a shift than my brothers v30. I would say mine totally shifts blue at about 45 degrees from dead on, his does almost right away. His phone is 3 months old now. Not sure of his build date. Mine was December '17
In my experience oled panels always experience some shifting. Even the iPhone x I've handled.

Looking at your picture the Pixel 2 XL looks better. Sure, it looks to have a very cool color temperature but it's also next to a Nexus 6P which is too warm(reddish). The Pixel 2 XL in that picture is much closer to neutral white. Also that's a pretty extreme angle. Mine is about the same at that angle and at normal viewing angles it looks great. It certainly isn't the BEST display I've seen in my entire life in terms of color temperature but it is good. Certainly better than the Nexus 5X I had before which was too cool even at direct viewing and better than the Nexus 6P which is too warm.

You will get a colour shift on almost any AMOLED device you can purchase. I have two Galaxy Note 8 phones sitting next to me, and they both shift red and pink off angle. So would you rather have a slightly cool shift when you look at your phone off angle? or a red / pink hue?
The S8+ shifts as does the S9+.
I notice it, but it does not bother me, as it is NOT an issue.
Use it for a week or two, don't obsess over it, use the display head on like 99% of people do, and you will forget it soon enough.
Cooler displays are much better than the reddish or yellowish displays of iphones or samsungs.

Thank you very much for telling me how to use my device, that I paid for and own. It never would occur to me to NOT use the device the way I want to, but to DO WHAT OTHER PEOPLE DO REGARDLESS OF WHAT I WANT. That makes so much sense I don't know why it never occurred to me. /s
As for "other screens have color shift too", that's irrelevant. Yes, my Nexus 6P has some, but it's slight and only at really crazy angles. That's why I posted a picture of the two side-by-side. I had both of them in my hands, and compared them myself. One (6P) had a very acceptable level of shift, the other (Pixel 2 XL) was not acceptable.
I guess the good news for me is that so many of you have phones that don't show much blue shift. That means that if I order another one, I have a decent chance to get one that's better.
My Pixel 2 XL has the issue but I never notice it. I look at my phone normally, not on a weird angle that means I cannot see the top right corner. That's the bit I don't get, you have to twist the viewing angle to a position that makes using the screen useless anyway and then rant it's got a blue tint. You can't see the text properly anyway so why do you want to use your phone at the angle? Lots of screens have tints if you view them at the WRONG angle.

I've had my 2 xl for about 2 weeks. It's a refurb from Amazon deal.of the day.
The display generally has the colder blue whites,which I like, that my preference. But, sometimes while using it, the white background on the screen will suddenly switch to this warm-ish white, seems pinkish to me. I'll try to use my phone off axis when it does that because I prefer the cold blue whites (like my essential phones display, - I LOVE that display)
Anyone else experiencing anything like this? I googled it and am not seeing anything - other people comaining about blue shift. (I'd like it to have 'blue shift' all the time lol)
FWIW: all the refurbs Amazon sold seem to be VZW branded, and I'm on Jan 05 2019 SW update. (Oh, and of course I'm pissed the refurbs are VZW, didn't know until it arrived, was so looking forward to unlocked bootloader and root and joining custom ROM community again.
