Problem updating Huawei Mediapad M2-A01LV100R001C100B006 4G SIM Unlocked - NL - Huawei MediaPad M2

Hi,
Goal is to upgrade my M2, I believe it has a modem because it is able to receive SMS, 4G network, etc...
One thing is missing, calling functionality, dialer stuff ... is this hardware or firmware (or driver not installed)?
Can somebody please confirm or know how these things work?
So I want to upgrade because, I just want to be up to date, new android!
No updates are available if I try the official via EMUI Update way... online at Huawei nothing is available either (they refer to EMUI). It says most current version.
But then I read people from other European countries do have updates installed, 'same' model ... WTF?!?
Version / model : M2-A01L / 2GB
* Everything is still factory.
* EMUI : 3.1
* Android : 5.1.1
* Custom version : CUSTC100D002
* Bootloader version : V100R001C00B000_FASTBOOT
* Kernel version : M2-A01LV100R001C100B006_BOOT
* AP : M2-A01LV100R001C100B006_SYSTEM
* CP Version / baseband : 21.600.20.00.010(balong)
* Cust Version : Cversion:C100 DVersion002
So first things first reading different posts and tutorials about updating:
* https://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-m2/how-to/guide-official-updates-m2-tablet-root-t3589363
* https://forum.xda-developers.com/me...om-official-manual-updates-m2-tablet-t3595211
Im already stuck at the official steps:
1 - On tablet created folder : InternalStorage/HwOUC placed M2-A01LV100R001C100B007.zip and rename in update.zip
2 - Turn off , Reboot device (not connected to laptop) , should automatically install update above. Nothing happens.
So lets try bootloader maybe I can choose to update from folder or something. Nope, just 3 options, (reboot:wipe cache:factory)
Strange... Im wondering
1 - If they disabled something so updating is not possible at all?
2 - Other possibility in the forum, update.app in dload... people mention the process got stuck on 2%. Can you get back to original, it just fails or do you need to do a factory reset to get a working tablet again?
3 - What steps to take to make sure you can always... yes, always get back to your factory firmware when updating.
4 - Then I was reading about simply download to a full firmware (not an update)
HUAWEI_MediaPad+M2+10.0_M2-A01L_Firmware_Android+5.1.1_EMUI+3.1_V100R001C100B010CUSTC100D001_Germany_Spain_Belgium.zip
Not Netherlands... Im not 100% confident this is the way to go. Last part of the filename D001_German... mine is D002, so, aaargh
I hope you can guide me and help me updating. I dont know much about this, is it really chipset, hardware or just software (compilation) stuff...

Making progress ... step:
0 - Back to factory settings, yes wipe that thing and let's see... then:
1 -
a - Unpacked M2-A01LV100R001C100B007.zip placed in internal storage/dload. Settings > Update > menu > local update. Package found, rebooting, installing, SUCCESS, rebooting again.
b - Open Settings > About Tablet > look at buildnr... A01LV100R001C100B006 didn't change, huh. repeated steps above...
Lets's see what happens if go to OTA-M2-A01LV100R001C100B010.zip, same steps... and after updating process. nothing changed, still the same ... A01LV100R001C100B006 ...
So somehow the manual local update looks into dload folder > changes the boot procedure to update > then looks into a factory prepped setting > updates to its original and no version change.
Edit:
Placed file 007 in internal storage > dload , powered off , then I did :
Vol + UP and Vol - Down and PowerOn buttons, waited until I got the installing EMUI screen.
Nope, nothing changed.

YESSSSS , SUCCESS :good: read!!! (and above)
- Tablet (bought in the Netherlands) - Huawei M2 10" - A01L :
* Custom version : CUSTC100D002
* Bootloader version : V100R001C00B000_FASTBOOT
* Kernel version : M2-A01LV100R001C100B006_BOOT
* AP : M2-A01LV100R001C100B006_SYSTEM
This is what I did :
- Factory reset, tried to update B006 -> B007 -> B010, nothing seemed to be changed although it said success ...
- Not rooted, no TWRP, not Developer or Manufacturer mode... just basic.
Then downloaded rom in this topic :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-m2/development/rom-m2-a01l-lte-premium-stock-t3624094
Huawei 10 - M2 A01L - B010 LTE file
- sdcard in tablet (not internal storage)
- create folder dload
- unzip file (above) and place the contents of the extracted file and its subfolder dload into this.
- the folder contained file UPDATE.APP and hw folder. Total size 3.3GB.
- Power down
- Unplug all cables
- Check if you have sufficient power >50%
- VolUp + and VolDown - and PowerOn, wait until EMUI Install screen, takes around 15-20seconds.
- Install starts until finished, 15minutes. Slow progress.
- Looks like it hangs on 99% but wait for success
Et voila, from B006 -> B010 and yes, including dialer... made a phonecall...
Next is rooting...

As I was saying... ROOTING, success again.. what ... a .... day !!!
My Steps :
0. Did above... don't forget
1. Follow these steps and pay 4 credits : Steps to Unlock, Recovery and Root
- Manufacturer mode to get the unlock code, back to hiSuite mode
- Command line tools for windows : ADB and fastboot
- Follow the exact procedure , step 18.
2. Troubles finding the files you need:
- TWRP for Android 5.1.1 More information can be found link here
- SuperSu

I read your post with interest. I was trying to do exactly the same thing i.e. enable the calling features on my M2-801L.
Eventually got my tablet fully working and your post helped a lot!!
So thanks for posting the info.

Very helpfull post. I was very much helped from your post. i use the items described in "how to optimize LOLLIPOP". For me it was very good someone to let me know wich app to be safely removed and wich can be freezed so the phone can work faster but without problems, so thank you for that list.
Second, 3C Toobox that you suggest is very powerfull as i saw and does alot of thinks others dont.
The App you are suggesting( Google,camera, FB, MX player) i have to report this
YOUTUBE, MX, GOOGLE CAMERA very easy downloaded and istalled and as you say they are very nice too.
Chrome and FB, allthough downloaded, was not able to install. Chrome cause the phone to reboot and nothing was installed. FB run the process succefully no in the end it says' app was not installed"
for Google keybord and Instagram downloading link is not working.
But all the other thing work out and i think my phone is in better contition now. For all your knowledges and efford to share it with us i would like to thenk you very much

All the links workin properly !
Don't use Adblocker on these sites
Remove chrome updates and do "clear data " and try links (if it does work remove entire chrome by 3C tool and install new version normally (not recommended !!! you may lose connection checking ability ) )
For FB I think there s no enough DPI but you can try.
For Google keyboard and Instagram try new links

yes i just check out and all links are working as mention above.
With adblocker disabled, there is no problem in the links. FB is actually DPI problem
Finally it's here! I'm waiting for this for one year. I will give you my feedback in the next week.

i 've been busy(tax season in my work) so i was not able to respond so far, but i wiil do so in next two days, i promise....
my comments about suggestions you made
As i have posted before, you have done a very good work, collecting all these tips and trick that really make our phone to work more smooth and fast. I followed all your suggestion and these are my observetions.
When i unistalled and freese all the apps and services you are suggesting, I noticed that the tablet is working 15-20% faster than before, so this is the first + for your project!
downloaded and tried to install all that you suggest. All are working very well except:
FB is not installing at all no matter what you do.( uninstall, clear data, reinstall it, etc)
Chrome i was not able to install x86, so i downloaded from Play and install new version. I am not fun of Chrome and for once again a realized how heavy load is this browser, i cant see why people are using it. XDA start page did 3 minutes to load, since Mozilla 10 seconds. Any way this is personal opinion .......
Instagramm cause me black screen on phone in the end of installation. I had to hold down power so the phone closes and restarting it. When came back Instagram is working very well !!!!
So the main problems are FB and Chrome for me.
I am using an APP I found here in XDA that compines FB - messenger -Twitter in on screen without heavy load phone you can give it a try if you want. The name is Slidechat and you can take it from Play for free
[APP][4.0+][v2.0]Slidechat http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-slidechat-t3382662
I hope i helped someone with these thought of mine.
The big value though are to ADBLOCKER effords who collected and tested all these things for us to find ready.
THANKS MATE @adblocker !!!!
thanks a lot for the guide, I'm trying to follow your instructions to root the device, but in the first step
(fastboot flash fastboot fastboot.img) the only thing I get is a message
<waiting for device>
and nothing happens
when I start the device normally and connect it to PC it is detected fine and nothing is wrong.
any ideas?

[ROOT - ZS570KL] ZenUtil + everything you need to root the Z016D quickly and easily!

ZenUtil was created for use with the Zenfone 3 Deluxe Special Edition ONLY.
Hello everyone my name is Sandman45654. I would like to share a little root utility I put together in my free time over the last couple of weeks. After not having much luck with the root packages/images I found here on XDA and the internet in general I decided to create my own solution! ZenUtil was created specifically for the Zenfone 3 Deluxe Special Edition (SD821) and has been tested on seven different computers. Four physical and three virtual machines. Operating systems from Windows 7 through the latest Windows 10 build have all been tested. Two machines even had fresh Windows installations with no prior ADB driver installations and Wi-Fi set to disabled to ensure drivers were in fact installing and not downloading! This package includes EVERYTHING to get the job done quickly and easily!

Features:
1. Completely menu driven CMD file! Typing or remembering commands is not required.
2. ZenUtil is able to create a support files (help/uninstaller/log files) dynamically.
3. Install Asus ADB Drivers. Fastboot drivers are also installed but not enabled by default. Instructions below.
4. Install the Asus UnlockTool v1.1 onto your phone.
5. Push the SuperSU 2.82 zip file into \sdcard\ in preparation for rooting.
6. Push just about any file or folder, even over network shares into \sdcard\. Supports drag & drop too!
7. Able to boot TWRP 3.1.1-0 without flashing.
8. Able to boot included stock Asus recovery image (v5.15.44.2562) without flashing. Boots upside down for some reason but works.
9. Reboot into the recovery that is currently installed.
10. Reboot into Fastboot mode.
11. Exit out of Fastboot mode. No more holding for power button for days!
12. Able to flash TWRP 3.1.1-0
13. Flash/restore stock Asus recovery image. It does not boot upside down when flashed.
14. Remove any lock screen PIN/Password/Pattern. Useful after restoring a Nandroid and getting "Incorrect PIN" error.
15. ADB transfers are check and verified as either successful or failed.
16. ADB transfers are also logged with date/timestamps and shown automatically on error.
17. The ADB log file is deleted on each launch to keep it small, clean, and simple.
18. Confirms before any "permanent" actions are completed. (Flash / Pin Removal / Uninstall)
19. Maybe more to come...
ZenUtil will be updated with the latest image files for the foreseeable future regardless.
Included files and versions with notes.
ADB Files = 1.4.2 Minimal (Preferred for logging)
Asus Stock Recovery = Z016_1-WW-5.15.44.2562_recovery.img
Asus UnlockTool v1.1 = UnlockTool-9.0.0.29_ZS570KL_PRO.apk
TWRP = twrp-3.1.1-0-Z016-20170826.img
NO LAG ON BOOT with this version of TWRP!!! I was also able to create, wipe, and restore without the issues of previous versions. Might this be the one?!
Finishing Fastboot driver installation.
Your phone must be connected and in fastboot mode before you are able to install the drivers.
1. Right click on the start button and select "Device Manager" or WinKey+R>devmgmt.msc>enter
2. Right click on "Android" with a yellow ! next to it and select "Update driver".

According to the page below that phone has the Snapdragon 820 and not the 821. So there is high likelihood that this would fail. If the included Twrp is compatible across both phones you could install the bootloader unlock tool from Asus website and then finish rooting with Zenutil. I cannot however say for certain that Twrp would be compatible.

Is it possible to root Xperia M5 6.0?

As the the title says, is it possible to root M5 on 6.0 Marshmallow?
Thinking of buying this phone 2nd hand, but need to know if root is possible.
Thanks

I'm still finding ways to root mine (it's an E5606 variant).
I've found guides but it's a bit hard unless you know the whole process. I recommend you see other phones before buying this. Another issue is the battery. It suddenly shuts down because a disfunction of batt's circuit. Ah, and if you want to flash some roms on it, you can't do it symply, you need and scs file, or your phone will brick. Consider it before buying.
PS: I'm waiting root months ago (for 6.0 of course.) There's some guide but it implies DRM keys, and i forgot to backup them. So, if something goes wrong, i'm dead.
Seriously??
Years after...... Xperia M5 has not been rooted successfully yet?
Thanks for the information!
Decided not to buy it
*facepalms*
Yes, and I just rooted mine. Also, it's officially supported by Sony.
I can't post links here because I'm a new user, but the website is:
developer . sonymobile.com / unlockbootloader
PS: I selected "Xperia M" on the select box because there's no M5, but it worked.

Just to clarify, there are 3 steps:
1. Unlock the bootloader on the Sony website;
2. Install a custom recovery (like TWRP);
3. Install a custom kernel with sudo support (use your custom recovery for this);
Note about DRM Keys:
Some tutorials recommend you to save the DRM keys before unlocking your boodloader. They say that without these DRM keys, all DRM based software (like Netflix, Spotify and the bravia engine) won't work. I say this is BS. Everything works fine: Netflix, Spotify, the Bravia engine. These Sony DRM keys are not the same DRM keys used by Android software.
----
Detailed steps:
1. Unlock bootloader:
* Note: this will wipe your data, so do a backup before;
* Note II: see "Note about DRM Keys" above;
* Go to: https://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/
* Select “Xperia M” (there's no M5), put your email and your phone's IMEI
* Confirm your email, get the fastboot command
* On phone, enter in fastboot mode (vol up + put cable, keep pressing vol-up until: vibration and a black screen);
* Run the 2 fastboot commands you received on email (fastboot devices, fastboot ...);
* Reboot with a “fastboot reboot”
2. TWRP Custom Recovery:
* Download: https://mega.nz/#!NZIlBL5Y!xSHX-Gn0Dk9omRG-RJY3QOzr7MQD_uuzCrtv7CMPBTc
* Run: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
* Tutorial: https://developer.sonymobile.com/20...for-a-range-of-unlocked-xperia-devices-video/
3. Kernel with Sudo:
* Follow instructions here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m5/development/kernel-stock-marshmallow-kernel-root-t3453072
* If your kernel version is different, you can install a stock ROM with the right kernel version.
* Other methods won't work:
__* I tried Kingoroot, one click root, etc. None worked.
__* Sudo.apk on custom recovery: DO NOT try to install sudo.apk through the custom recovery. If you do that, you will soft brick your phone - your screen will be freeze on the Sony logo (no panic, it's possible to revert this brick by installing the stock rom).
--
Custom ROMs:
There are some on this forum, all from the "TRXteam" user, but DO NOT install them. They don't have support for camera, phone calls, etc. TRXteam is not working on these ROMs anymore. If you install them, you will need to revert to the stock ROM.
---
Shortcuts:
* Forced shutdown: vol up + power = keep pressing (it takes about 10 seconds) until a small vibration and keep going until a three-vibration.
* Fastboot mode: turn your phone off, then press vol up + put cable, keep pressing until vibrates+black screen. Run a "fastboot devices" command on your pc to test if it worked.
* Recovery mode: turn your phone off, then press vol down + power, then on logo, release the power button but keep pressing the down button until the recovery screen
--
Stock ROM (works on linux, windows, mac):
Usually, a Stock ROM is only necessary if you screwed up your phone.
You don't need this step when rooting your phone (unless you need a specific kernel version or if you soft bricked it).
This reverts your phone to the factory software, like a brand new phone and ALL your data will be wiped.
Step 1: Creating a TRT image
* You can use this tutorial instead: http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/08/1...re-files-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool-guide/
* Download Flashtool: http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php
* Patch Flashtool: download "x10flasher.jar" from the above website, then copy this file to the Flashtool root folder (if you don't do it, you will get a "unresponsive app" while flashing);
* Download XperiFirm: https://mega.nz/#!0MohiK5A!m6zJs359UxbRgS3fP8a1Qyf0Jcr_I1sGFladNAZODDo
* Open XperiFirm and download stock ROM:
__* Settings > Uncheck “Unpack firmware automatically”
__* Xperia M5 (Holly) > E5663 Dual > Service Exchange Unit > Click on the “Available Firmware” item > Download
* Open the downloaded folder (ex. “E5653_Customized AU_1297-5795_30.2.A.1.21_R4B”)
__* Manually delete this file: “fwinfo.xml” (if it is there)
__* If you don’t delete it, the firmware WILL corrupt and BRICK your phone!!!!
__* Check if is there any FILE_* files. It should have. If there's none, it's because you didn't uncheck “Unpack firmware automatically” option on settings. Uncheck, remove this folder and download again.
* Open Flashtool, select “Xperia M5”
* Click Tools > Bundles > FILESET Decrypt > Chose ROM folder (with FILES_* files)
* Select all files (around 4) > Right arrow (to move) > Convert
* Once it finishes, it will open a new pop up (Bundler)
* Click “Device” field twice > Xperia M5 > E5663
* Branding (it’s just a text field, it doesn’t matter what you put actually): International
* Version (also just a text field): Put the firmware version you downloaded (is in the folder name). Ex.: “30.0.B.1.23_R1A”
* Move all items from left to right, except the “.ta” files (usually 2: cust-reset.ta and simlock.ta)
* Click “Convert”
* “A FSC script was found. Do you want to include it?”: Choose YES!!!! If you choose no, it will HARD F* BRICK your phone. A HARD BRICK can't be undone (not that I know).
* Step 2: Flashing
* Tutorial: http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/06/01/debrand-your-xperia-z2-tutorial/

You should take a look at this Youtube video it has link's to download everything you will need for twrp and root (for marshmallow only)
Just flash twrp and then the modified boot.img via command prompt,adb fastboot drivers are also available via the link.
Click here and it will take you straight to the Youtube channel.(at Youtube channel you'll have to select show more to access the link addresses for download)
I have used the method successfully,,The only known issue i have noticed is that my phone switches on when i plug in phone charger, however if your charging your phone i assume that you'll be powering it up
Goodluck..
help me
Does this video work? I'm following the tutorial, and unlock the bootloader now I'm going in the part of installing the twrp but I'm not totally sure, should I install another rom? or can I do it with my marshmallow stock? I read in other tutorials that unlocking the bootloader could downgrade to 5.1 lollipop, I'm a little tangled in that and nobody says anything, nor those who have already achieved, sorry for my bad English
Help
Hi guys! I've tried the root method from this thread and it worked perfectly. After that, I've tried to remove some Sony apps from the firmware and accidentally removed the notorious Download Manager. Now I can't use google play chrome and other Google apps anymore. Does anybody have any advise? Reinstall Download manager would be easy but I can't find the apk file anywhere. Would reinstalling the firmware help?
Thanks in advance!
As it looks, nobody is reading this thread so I have to answer to my self. I found a way to extract firmware apps from ftf but that didn't solve the problem. Download manager was installed but could not start. I already wanted to give up because flashing according to Sony would brick my phone so there was nothing more I could do. Then I thought that I have nothing to lose so I flashed with FlashTool and It's alive again. Many thanks to farshad9500gy cyberzeroXDA loureirorg and others.

Huawei P20 Lite root

Just for Info :angel:
DISCLAIMER
I only write, what i am doing on my Phone. What ever you do on your Phone - you doing at your own Risk !
RISK AT THIS MOMENT
Phone is new on Market. By my last Phone after 3 month not firmware by Huawei downloadable ! Continue to wait
Hi, this is my way to root HP20L.
My Build is ANE-LX1 8.0.0.108(C432)
By this way is UserData erased ! Make Backup bevor you go this way !
I found FHMate10Tool.
This is a "DOS-Prompt" program.
- Phone has bootloader-unlock.
- Phone is in bootloader-mode.
- I am start FHMate10Tool as admin. Use point 1 (rooting).
- 4..5 seconds Tool write "phone is rooted" ; Phone reboot; make userdata format lowlevel; reboot
- only your work: beginning by zero (configure: google ...)
- risk to break Phone is minimal.
BUT i have Backup with "dd" from factory-system and factory-recovery-ramdisk. "not tested at this moment"
(test next days, then i make append here)
My THANK'S to @aveemashfaq for inspiration : https://forum.xda-developers.com/9-lite/how-to/guide-backup-partition-using-dd-t3767613
Attention : "dd" is Powerful. Any error by typing and the consequences can be catastrophic ! Nothing for beginners !!!
Check "SuperSU". Install Titanium Backup or what ever you need.
If you wish TWRP, wait ! I am next days testing.
SuperSU is for me full-ok. If you need Magisk - look in forum.
I hope this help you & have fun !
Append 20180415 :
Now we have a good Chance for TWRP(any device !)
Look https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/twrpbuilder-t3744253
Download this APP, install on your Phone, follow the instruction
You need from your Phone your "recovery.img" (Nougat) or "recovery_ramdis.img" (Oreo) for upload in APP and a little bit wait-time
TWRP-Builder = the best idea from last 5 year's : :good: :laugh:
Append 20181223 :
First we need BL-unlock. Huawei give us NO BL-unlock-code more. The only that's work is CD-Unlocker. Use DC-Unlocker for reed BL-unlock-code.
If DC-Unlocker not work on your Device - sorry ! Huawei is more and more "closed source" (Example : iPhone)
If you have your BL-unlock-code : unlock the BL (Attention ! This format data. On the End of BL-unlock your Device is "New". NO App's, NO Settings)
The good Way to root your Device is "Magisk". You need on your PC actual Firmware (look in Device Menu/System/Over the Device) as Full-Update Download.
Extract with HuaweiUpdateExtractor "ramdisk.img" (inside is "boot").
Copy the "ramdisk.img" to Device (Example in "Download") and the Same with "MagiskManager.app".
Install "MagiskManager.app" [MM] in Device, start MM, let it create "patched_boot.img", copy "patched_boot.img" to PC inside your ADB-Folder (Example "C:\ADB").
Open DOS-Prompt on your PC, change inside ADB-Folder (Example "cd C:\ADB").
Go with your Device in "bootloader-mode" with
- adb reboot bootloader
Flash "patched_boot.img" in your Device with
- fastboot flash ramdisk patched_boot.img
Reboot your Device with
- fastboot reboot
If Device run open MM, let MM self-update doing (it is need) and check if Device rootet (Example : Play-Store "RootChecker").
With this Way we have root AND Stock-ROM AND OTA-Updates work.
We can restore the Stock-Ramdisk (and have original Stock-ROM without root)
If you need you can TWRP install.

Tool worked for me. Now having access to all root features! Thanks for sharing! :good:
@r00terb3y
thank's for your test and response. :good:
all : if you give thanks, i am happy :laugh:
- if you click on thanks-button : i am very happy :laugh::laugh:
My Test, my phone, my risk !!!
First test with TWRP 3.2.1-0 (Huawei P smart).
TWRP flash + run = ok.
backup : folder (/data/media/0/TWRP) not created (Permission denied)
that's no big surprise : build for other device
Now my question : if here any twrp-developer how give me answer "how much work is it to build twrp for this device ?" 2 hour? 5 hour?
I have no idea, I do not have any twrp build.
if i can help for build (info from inside device, test new build ...) i do it !
a little bit risk is good for my brain : new phone, day 1 : bootloader unlock (warranty : bye - bye), see about twrp.
with extracted "recovery" form https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...om-official-emui-8-0-huawei-p20-lite-t3773999
no risk to test twrp (thank's to @kilroystyx), switch stock-recovery to twrp and return - all ways work.
Warning for beginner : do you want to do such experiments - a paperweight for 1 € or $ is much cheaper than such this nice phone to turn into one
@JamesBott, the reason that you cannot backup data partition should be other, i suspect that your data partition is encrypted and that might be the reason.
If you are ok testing TWRP's I can try do one for P20 lite
@kilroystyx
if i test twrp:
- flash twrp
- twrp /wipe/format data
- reboot twrp to twrp
- twrp backup data
the twrp for Huawei P smart work on my Honor 9 Lite, not on HP20L.
if you found twrp : i test (give me download link) & if any work : i write here for ALL how need twrp!
with your recovery_ramdis.img(extract from update.app) i can test all twrp.
i flash recovery_ramdis.img and phone is in "delivery state" : work as a "new phone" . it's only my time [flash, test, reflash ...] . problem : for me not
sorry - double save #6
i use this for general info
i am not developer.. i am service. i am learn by doing and help other with my experience
@JamesBott, when I have something to test I'll let you know.
By the way, are you also interested to test CallRecorder MOD?
TWRP backups does not work because the P20 has a different partition layout than previous Huawei phones.
@kilroystyx
sorry : CallRecorder not need. i use my Phone first for Whatsapp (family and friends) and Telegram (special friends).
@mchtt
i think the same. twrp on H9L work, by install and twrp/format data work and msg "need restart for write function-changes". on HP20L : twrp/format data work, but no msg.
test was only a "shot in to the blue". i think, we are to fast. phone is new on market - very new.
my interest is technology : what works, what not.
for me a good phone : bootloader open - twrp - root - adaware. the follow other is secondary.

Flashing, Rooting & French carrier configuration On Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2

Hello,
The goal of this topic is install recovery, rom of Lineage and install root. I will give you some tips(Unpretentious)! I finished installation 2 hours ago.
BEFORE START -> Make Save of your personal data and put it outside the phone, (sms,call history,contacts,pictures,videos,music,wifi key, notes, clock alarm, bookmarks, microphone rec file.....)
-> Read this full topic
1. Unlocking the bootloaderFollow this topic only for unlocking bootloader part : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...t-asus-zenfone-max-pro-m2-unofficial.3885457/
2. Install Lineage recovery & romFollow this article and skip bootloader unlock part : https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/X01BD/install . For gapps installation, take the correct version correspond as your Lineage rom version installed
You can download Lineage add-on : https://download.lineageos.org/extras Do not install su add-on, at the time I write these lines, last Lineage rom version for this phone is 18.1, and last version for su(arm64) is 16.0… Is not compatible, don’t lose your time trying to make worked(advise ).
3. Rooting With Magisk (can be made after installation and the first start, this don’t remove personal data)
0. TAKE YOUR KERNEL DATE IN Settings > About phone > Android version(click it!) > Kernel version
Example :
Code:
4.4.261-perf+
#1 Mon Jan 17 03:37:50 UTC 2022
GET A NO MODIFIED LineageOs ROM FILE WITH CORRECT/SAME DATE IN Kernel version (https://download.lineageos.org/X01BD)
For example, my date is 17 Jan 2022 or '20220117' in stock Lineage rom name
feedback : I have flashed my phone with patched magisk boot.img from a incorrect date who no correspond in Kernel version, this cause bootloop. I needed to find correct date by testing all boot.img from stock rom for restore and phone restart now. Be careful ===> all rom version are not available on LineageOs download page. If your kernel date not correspond in download page it's very embarrasing situation.
At this point :
If there is a rom correspond to your kernel date
Download original LineageOs rom with correct date for save and continue this topic
If no there is a rom correspond to your kernel date
if your phone boot correctly, try update in updater and restart procedure at 3 point at step 0 of this topic
if phone doesn't boot, try to ask to LineageOs support, some rom history for your phone ans test it. Or reflash via recovery last LineageOs rom for your phone model => This cause LOST OF ALL DATA.
Take your Lineage rom file who end in ’.zip’ extract it, copy ‘boot.img’ to phone(I suggest you Downloads directory)
Install Magisk app, ONLY from github source : http://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk and make update if necessary
Open the Magisk app, you have two sections ‘Magisk’ and ‘App’, both have an ‘Install’ button. root is not installed when you see ‘N/A’ in the ‘installed’ field in the ‘Magisk’ section.
Click on ‘Install’ button of ‘Magisk’ section
In ‘Method’, click ‘Select and Patch a File’ It is the only available option for non-rooted phones. Select ‘boot.img’ in phone(maybe in Downloads directory), and click ‘Let’s go’
Once your ‘boot.img’ is patched, copy patched file(destination of patched file is, for me, Downloads) to computer
Reboot phone in fastboot mode
If your phone is turn on -> with adb, adb reboot bootloader
If your phone is turn off -> keep Volume key up + power button
In your computer>fastboot/adb directory, in command line, enter this : fastboot flash boot <name_of_patched_boot_img>.img
!Tip : I always copy my file in fastboot/adb directory. this directory is located at the root of my disk. This avoid me to add directory in command line
Reboot
In the Magisk app, you now have an ‘Uninstall Magisk’ button and a version number in the ‘Installed’ field in the ‘Magisk’ section. Check with a root checker app.
For unroot, click ‘Uninstall Magisk’ or flash phone with original ‘boot.img’, with original Lineage rom with same version of your current rom version. Both solutions are not tested by me.
4. Configuration French carrier, La Poste Mobile on Lineage rom
Preferred network type is ‘LTE/TDSCDMA/GSM/WCDMA’
In ‘Access Point Names’, two are present, one for mms, one for internet, enter both(edit: you can join two configuration in one and put APN : sl2sfr). Only the following settings need to be added/modified. don’t change other settings
for web
Name : WEB La Poste Mobile
APN : sl2sfr
MCC : 208
MNC : 10
for mms
Name : MMS La Poste Mobile
APN : mmsdebitel
MMSC : http://mmsdebitel
MMS Proxy : 10.143.156.3
MMS Port : 8080
MCC : 208
MNC : 10
APN type : mms
reboot and 4g will be good
5. The most important thing now, enjoy! keep your passwords safe and make backups.
Special thanks, thanks for all :
