[MOD][AUDIO] ROOT: Viper4Android - Fire Themes and Apps

I love Viper, but sometimes I just thought I could get more out of it. Thanks to user @Craz Basics we can add some MODs to V4A, if you have root and are using the Fire Nexus ROM. I did not create these mods, nor do I take credit for them. I just confirm they work on Lollipop 5.1.1 and above or custom ROMs based on that version and above.
You can get the full details, download links and changelog here. Be sure to tap the thanks button for HIS profile, not mine.
REQUIREMENTS:
1) ROOTED Amazon Fire 7
2) Custom ROM (Fire Nexus ROM in this case, though it might work on stock, rooted Fire 7s, but hasn't been tested on them)
3) FlashFire
MODs Available -
- Viper4Android 2.3.4.0
- Viper4Android 2.5.0.5
- Viper|Atmos 4.8.1 Sony Beats Edition
- Viper|Dolby Digital +
Instructions -
**If you already have V4A installed, it is recommended you uninstall it and reinstall version 2.3.4.0 from the Aroma installer during flashing)**
- Download the Experience_Sound.zip (located here)
- Download, install and open FlashFire. Tap the '+' and select flash zip and make sure 'mount system' is the only box checked. Tap '+' select wipe and make sure ONLY dalvik and cache partition are selected. (This is my recommendation).
- Move wipe by long pressing it, above the zip file
- Tap Flash.
NOTE: As of this posting, the installer is designed for smaller screens, so the touch is a bit off. You will have to tap 'next' on the bottom, right of the button. The same goes for any selections you want to make, except for the agreement. Lightly tap the box to agree, in the upper left area. This can be an annoying process the first time.

tested and worked with SElinux set to permissive
super high audio quality mode
there is an improvement in sound quality, but not as much as with smartphones like the Xperia Z5 or Oneplus 5

Install along with a volume booster. Goodev works great on these tablets.

Heads up: This can be controlled, albeit confusingly, using the hardware buttons.

[APP][CM9][AOKP]Google Now for ARM7 Devices[UPDATED]

Requirements:
Follow the simple instructions here.
You MUST be rooted
You should be running a custom recovery like ClockWorkMod Recovery (CWM) or Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP). I use CWM, so this guide is based on that.
Your device must be using ARMv7 CPU architecture. If you aren't sure what that is, check this thread.
You must have a file explorer that has root permissions. I use ES File Explorer, so this guide is based on that.
You need at least 60MB of system space for the full offline installation. (30MB for online only version) If you don't know how to check, simply download Titanium Backup from the market. It tells you right on the main screen.
If you are not a noob and know what to do already, please skip this. The permissions are listed at the bottom for easy reference, should you need them.
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Download whichever zip you want. If you need to save /system space, download the the smaller, online-only package, otherwise get the normal one for the full experience. There is also a version of each which removes the "double-take" condition of the app. This is where it loads the results twice. The one that loads the results twice formats search results properly on the first try, but does not auto launch some cards. The non-double-take version may not format some search results properly, but auto launches tasks such as navigation and texting. Choose whichever one you prefer. If you have questions, please don't quote this entire post. Simply edit out the part you have a question about.
Update: Each version listed has the full version and the Offline only version. Pick the one you want and flash it. If you aren't sure which one to use, or if this is too much information or is otherwise overwhelming for you, just flash the M7 version - Offline/Online, since it's the latest. Be sure to scroll down a bit and read about it, though.
Before doing anything, you need to make sure you have at least 60MB of free space on your /system partition for Offline/Online files and 30MB of free /system space for Online Only files.
Flashable ZIPs
[*]M7 - mikeyxda's version 7. This version improves on M6 by tweaking notifications to be more accurate and frequent. This version may use more battery. If you are using a Sense ROM, see the troubleshooting below for a hack to improve Google Now performance and battery efficiency.

Online Only via Mediafire - 14.06MB /Hotfile mirror

[*]Inverted M7 - This is identical to the M7 files from above, except the colors are inverted, so that it has a black background instead of white, and white text instead of black. If you already have Google Now flashed, you can simply perform the update to this version.

Online Only via Mediafire - 14.04MB /Hotfile mirror
Inverted M7 Update - 4.30MB /Hotfile mirror

[*]M6 - Mikeyxda's version 6. This version has improved on the previous one by fixing the double take problem, typed searches are working, auto launch is fixed, as well as the following fixes from the previous version: Red mic with cards showing with no refresh needed, no FCs, offline dictation, and no stretched words. These zips all use zipalligned apks.

M6 Update - 3.92MB /Hotfile mirror

R3 Update - 3.97MB /Hotfile mirror
R3-Velvet.apk Only
How to:
- Move the file you picked to the root of your SD card. Don't put it in any folder. This just makes it easier to find.
- Reboot your device into recovery. See your device's specific instructions on how to do this if you are not sure. Google it for a faster answer.
- In CWM, navigate to "Install zip from SD" and select that.
- Next, highlight "Choose zip from SD card" and select it.
- Scroll down to the Google Now zip you loaded onto your SD card, then select it.
- Scroll down and select the option that says "Yes - Install Google Now....zip"
- Once it has flashed, go back to the main CWM menu and select "Reboot system now".
Double Checking:
- Let the ROM boot all the way, then fire up ES File Explorer (or whichever one you feel like using). We need to make sure a few permissions stuck (just in case).
- If you haven't used ES File Explorer before, open it, then hit menu.
Tap settings, then scroll all the way down.
Check the box that says "Up to Root" (pic).
Then check the box that says "Root Explorer"
Allow root access when the dialogue box for Superuser pops up.
After that, check off "Mount file system", then back out of the menu. (pic)
- Navigate to /system/usr/srec/ and find two folders named "config" and "en-US"
- Tap and hold on the "config" folder icon to bring up the options menu, then scroll down to Properties.
- Tap properties, then tap change and see if the check boxes match this picture.
- If it matches, leave it alone and head back to your home screen to enjoy using Google Now! If it doesn't match, change it so it does.
- Do the same thing for the "en-US" folder.
- Go into the settings menu for Google Now and set it up for your Google account and various other settings.
Now What?
So, you flashed Google Now. You're wondering what you can do with it, right? Well, thankfully, Killer-B has a handy little guide to get you up to speed on all the cool stuff Google Now can do as well as how to do it!
Commands & Now Cards For Google Now!!! Now Video, and custom widget
Troubleshooting
1.) The red mic screen won't display.
To fix this, press the normal mic within the Google Now app. While it is listening (after it beeps), press menu > refresh. Now you're at the red mic.
2.) Can't exit the Google Now app with the back button.
Use the Home button.
3.) Google Now Force Closes.
Make sure you have enough space on your /system partition before installing this. You need at least 60MB free for the Offline versions and 30MB free for the Online versions.
4.) Sports cards aren't showing up.
It won't add teams that aren't in season. American football is currently in preseason. Baseball, however, works perfectly fine.
5.) I want Google Now in another language than US English.
From the Google Now home screen with the cards, tap Menu, then Settings. Tap Voice, then Language and select the language you want recognized. The text of Google Now in searches and regular cards should mirror that of your system language.
6.) My phone exploded.
Have a muffin.
If, for some reason, you want to remove Google Now and return to how you were before, flash the following zip. It removes all Google Now files, and returns the original Google Search app and voice files, as well as sets permissions for the Search app.
Google Now to Google Search via Mediafire- 629.35KB /Hotfile mirror

thanks.. but I mean is the "updateM7.zip" or others.. I downloaded it and there's a /system/app/velvet.apk what for it is? update for the M7?
In flashable zip contains velvet apk (google now itself) and many libs for it.

I think R3 (update) is not different with M7 (not updated), I always refresh to show more card and stuck on white screen, I flashed M7 2 weeks ago before R3 (from original thread)
and R3 I've got FC everytime I launched the app, so revert back to M7 + updated
thanks for sharing mate

@jovy23. Thank you so much for yet another option for our Note 7's!
Can you tell me if this is compatible with xposed?
Is this still stable? I know with the rooting and all that good stuff of the s7 series, root cause quite a few instability issues.
v.v and nice, knox does not get trip! Anyone able to confirm samsung pay still works?
May just give this a spin when I get home...instead of exchanging for s7 edge lmao
edit: ah still based on sprint rooting system i see

May just give this a spin when I get home...instead of exchanging for s7 edge lmao

Everything Works Wi-Fi Calling, VOLTE, Even Bluetooth Works I Even Paired One Of My Bluetooth Headsets And Even After A Reboot It Automatically Re-Paired And It's Still Connected No Bugs Whatsoever This Is 100% Deodexed And Not Ran Into One Bug Yet! Even Though I Always Thought Benchmarks Is Bull In My Opinion, I Always Get Above 143,000 Antutu Benchmark Scores!
Oh yeah by the way even though i don't use Xposed, but for testing purposes even Xposed works!
Thanks for this @jovy23 any difference in how the phone reacts as compare to stock, is it more fluid less stutter

It's super stable there is no instability issues. Samsung pay will not work because of root im guessing latest samsung pay update should now check for both triggered knox and root even while i was on the odexed firmware root method samsung pay or any of the other paying apps didn't work as well. Flashing the modified tar file will likely flash the sprint firmware but the step after that your installing the tmobile firmware over it so there is no sprint system once your device boots to the setup wizard the only thing that's sprint is the kernel everything else is tmobile based.

Your welcome. :good:
And by the way just to let everyone know i have found a way to get the rom to install from the internal storage as well! Internal storage root method will be the main method so no more MicroSD card instructions from now on which should be somewhat easier. Once im done testing, I will most likely release the instructions tomorrow or by the weekend.

Viper4Android MTCD Discussion

Okay wanted to make a thread specifically for sharing V4a settings profiles irs etc
v4a is the best sound mod for our units since we don't have to make hardware modifications to be able to have subwoofer controls etc.
This thread is to serve the purpose of creating a space for those using V4A with car audio systems as the threads for V4a don't really address car audio much.
Before I install V4a I flash the XtremeBeats Aural Maximizer 2 zip https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2634729
for V4a I use ARISE Sound Systems zip package, which includes V4a and other sound add-ons, I flash it via FlashFire
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/r-s-e-sound-systems-auditory-research-t3379709
Sometimes it works better if you extract the v4arise 2.3.4.0 version (that's the best one due to the sound driver is superior than 2.5.0.5 or 2.4.0.1)
I have 13 kicker speakers including a 10'' kicker free air sub.
Here are my Settings for V4A
Enable & Force Enable are both checked
Playback Gain Control is enabled, effect is sight, strength is 4x, Max Output is at -3db
Spectrum Extension is enabled, strength is at .5 (great for spotify streaming)
Convolver - IRS is Samsung SoundAlive Clarity - Cross Channel is @ 15%
Dynamic System enabled , device is high end headphone v2 , dynamic bass @ 15%
Viper clarity enabled , cclarity mode is natural, set at 6db
All the IRS files I have loaded are located in zip attachment.
It sounds amazing now
I am playing around with listening device settings to see if i can find a compatible setting too

First check your MCU and Android version from manufacturer is up-to-date - as some introduced sub control in updates. E.g. JY from MCU v.1.90

Works just fine in my experience on JY-UL135. UI provides sub control which works with the correct MCU - JY 1.90 or greater. Nothing wrong with hardware control either - on these units if sub control isnt supported by the MCU, v4a control is limited to android apps, i.e. radio unaffected.
Please share your research.

Regardless of the MCU (i have a gs unit), the sub controls do not work period.
Maybe it's due to my setup, i have a 16 channel, harmon kardon amplifier...
V4A is processing on all applications OEM and aftermarket.
Do I have the steps correct??
1. Boot recovery
2. Install Aural Maximizer zip
3. Boot normal, make sure settings take effect
4. Boot recovery
5. Instal V4A arise zip
6.....
7. Profit
no , do this
1) root or be on malaysk rom
2) install flash fire
3) via flashfire flash aural maximizer zip
4) reboot test it out
5) either flash the v4a zip or extract the apk and isntall it as a user app and reboot

Does flash fire depend on Google play services or similar? I was able to install the apk, however when selecting the flash fire icon, it would try to open the program and then immediately quit.
Tried both .24 and .2 flash fire.

has anyone found a viper ddc to work with car speakers?
I have to open viper every time I turn on my car to get the audio processing to kick in, once I do that it works just fine, until I turn off the car and turn it on again. Do I need to convert it to a system app for it to start automatically? Have the Bonroad 7" Intel Sofia off aliexpress.

If you install it as a user app, and lock effect mode and show notification it will process normally upon boot.
When you flash it via fireflash for some reason it then does not process until you open it and uncheck and re-check enable.
make sure you have busybox installed and updated too!
has anyone found any good IRS files that they can recommend? i'm always looking for more.
has anyone played with any more IRS files or setups?

The Aroma installer gives you the options to install whatever you want.
I go with the 2.3.4.0 version because of the superior audio driver.

Pixel Look Alike Setup Guide Galaxy S7

I AM NOT A DEVELOPER, I in no way claim to have made any of this myself, I'm just here to say how I manage to get as close to having Pixel software on my Galaxy S7 G930V as possible.
Basically I'll divide this into three main areas. ROM, Add-on Mods, and Apps.
Read All the way through before starting so as to not miss anything.
Also the add-on mods are installed at the same time as the ROM. That way you keep safety net and what not.
Lets start with the ROM, I am using Ufirm_QE2_Hybrid_Nougat_Rom_FlashFire_Install Status Official For VZW S7FLAT by CVertigo1 / jrkruse
jrkruse said:
Latest Ufirm QE2 Nougat Firmware For The S7 Flat Only
This well give you a Customizable NonRooted Rom that uses stock boot.img not the eng boot image so there is no lag and it will pass safetynet checks and samsung pay will work
Give this guy @umaro some thanks he worked on this until it became reality even when I gave up
These first 2 step must be done first unless you are on my previous version of this rom or my carrier specific rom that do not have root or if your unsure just do this first
This Will Wipe Your Phone
1. Unzip UFIRM_G930_Odin_Firmware.zip and flash all files in odin
2. Go through setup ignore invalid sim message and skip adding accounts
3. Go to Step 3 Below
Click to collapse
To Flash Files in Odin simply launch Odin (Downloads later)
click on each button (Labeled BL, AP, etc.) and select their respective files that were extracted from the archive.
Each respective file's label has each corresponding label. (AP at the beginning of the file name, means put it in AP slot)
Then boot phone into download mode, press home, download, and volume down keys all simultaneously.
Connect it to computer and press the begin button in Odin.
jrkruse said:
If you are on one of my previous version of this rom or my carrier specific rom
1. Unzip UFIRM_G930_Odin_Firmware.zip
2. Use odin to flash BL and CP
3. Unzip ADB_Root_G930U_QE2Files.zip
4. Flash EngBoot image with odin
5. Root Phone. I'm not going to have half a page about rooting there is an entire rooting thread here. The Eng Boot.img can be found in the UFIRM_QD2_Modified_Nougat_Firmware Folder

Rooting is very simple for this phone once the Eng Kernel has been flashed.

Options I selected in Aroma:
Verizon Stock
NoName System UI Mods
Open Source Ad Blocking
Pixel Boot Animation
Manual Debloat
Removed Every thing except Samsung TTS and Samsung Gallary / Camera (you can remove if you prefer to use google camera, DO NOT REMOVE if you plan on using zero camera.)
I don't use the google camera because on my S7 the video records the audio out of sync with the video, I haven't figured out how to fix it. but zero camera allows me to use Photos app instead of gallary so.... yea. (Requires a purchase of the root app for alt gallery)
That's about it for the ROM install.
**note these were installed in FlashFire with the ROM so as to pass safty net.
Now here are the add-on mods I used:
Open-GApps - to get pixel icons, and connectivity service
Android 8 Emojis
iYTB Vanced (Modded YouTube)
Google Lens
Zero Camera Mod
Copy those mods onto internal storage with the ROM install and add them into FlashFire during the ROM install. Place them after the ROM zip, but before the Format Cache / Wipe System less Super SU.

Let me know if anybody has anything else they have done to get this close!
I appreciate you putting all the links and mods into the same place. I have never flashed using FlashFire before (on a G930V) and this was an excellent guide for me.
My only trip up was I didn't understand the language about Camera/Google Camera/Zero Camera Mod and I tried installing the zero mod while debloating the camera off. So I will have to go back and do that.
I skipped the "flashables" youtube, emoji, lens but may end up going back for those.
Thanks again.
Update: I found a cool way to have the new Google now page in the launcher.
Launcher App:
First is the actual app. Typicaly I would just say use Nova but on the pixel launcher the Google Now page looks different than on other third party apps. I wanted this look, so here is how I found a way to get that new Google Now pag to appear on other launchers.
Step one, if you installed Google lens mod, you should be able to get the pixel launcher from the play store, if not get it from XDA labs or APK mirror. Set Google. Set it as your default launcher. Next you will need any third party launcher and Tasker. I'm using Lawn chair Launcher. (On Google play). Use button mapper pro to map pressing the home button to launch third party app. Go into Tasker and make a task, so that whenever Google pixel launcher is launched, open third party launcher. As long as the pixel launcher is set as your default, the new Google now page will appear in apps like Nova and action launcher.
I'm *loving* this so far. Thanks to you and the devs that have worked on each stage of this.
I'm doing:
Verizon Stock
No UI Mods
No Ad Blocking
Pixel Animation
"PlayStore" Edition (not BS free, not manual)
Flashing GApps
Flashing Emoji
My only issue is like you described with the camera. It was working initially and then it updated and the update is causing problems. Also, the double home button launch doesn't work without a 3rd party app (and with screen off with no root).
So I can either figure out a way to always ignore camera app update and use a 3rd party app for launch (screen on only)
or
Will the S8 camera option include the gallery app and not be cleared by the "PlayStore" option?

[Guide] How to Revive You Beloved Vince?

Disclaimer: I am not an android developer, neither do I possess any of the software mentioned in this guide. Thanks must be given to the developers in their own threads. I am just a ‘tester’ if there is such a thing.
What this guide provides:
Update Vince to smoothest android 10.
Tweak in-call volume.
Tweak sound quality.
Get the best performance.
Longer battery life.
Xiaomi has abandoned Vince after the miui-11 update, which was worse than expected. Fortunately, the hardware of Vince is great and it can be revived if you want; just follow me.
I guess you already unlocked the bootloader (if you haven't, it's quite easy just google it) and flashed some custom rom, OrangesFox is great.

What do we need?
Custom recovery: OrangeFox is the best for Miui devices.
Custom rom: ionOS, from here, is great and smooth. I recommend ionOS with GApps version 2.7a.
Custom kernel: it is just an update of the kernel used in ionOS (dark ages último).
Magisk: I recommend latest magisk 21.4.
NFS Injector module from here.

Update to android 10:
reboot to recovery.
backup system, data, and vendor ‘optional’.
wipe everything except external sd.
reboot recovery.
flash ionOS, reboot to system (don't flash magisk), and set up your phone.
after finishing the setup, reboot into recovery again.
now flash Dark-Ages-último.
wipe cache and Dalvik.
reboot to system.

Root:
reboot into recovery.
flash latest magisk
wipe caches then reboot system

Tweak Speaker Sound:
Android 10 custom roms, usually, provide a bad sound quality experience. Following tweaks makes sound volume higher and quality better:
select modules tab in magisk manager.
find and install busybox for android NDK module.
find and install Ainur audio mod.
install audio compatibility batch mod
install audio modification library.
reboot the device
install latest viper4android fx from apkmirror, open the app, provide root privilege and wait for drivers to install.
after your device reboots, open viper4android, in settings select legacy mode.
That's it! now use V4A options and equalizer to optimize the sounds as you like.
Tweak ear speaker volume during calls:
Download any root explorer, like solid explorer or root explorer.
open root explorer app ➩ select root tab ➩ and provide root permission.
navigate to vendor ➩ etc ➩ swipe down to (mixers_paths.xml) and open it with a text editor.
search for RX1 Digital Volume, in the 2 results change Volume= “84” to a higher value (94 is high enough)
save and reboot the phone.
Tweak power and performance:
in magisk manager, select the modules tab.
select install from storage.
select NFS Injector mod.
wait for the installation to finish.
reboot device.
Now everything is working great
Is there green tint issue in whatsapp camera present in that rom?
