The firmware contains files like AP, BL and they end with tar.md5. Take AP file and when you delete md5 you can open with zip program. Search for *.img and you find the boot.img.

Location of the update file

Hi, guys.
My SM-N910P (OB7) just downloaded update - 276.98 MB.
I still do not want to be update yet.
Tell me, please, the location of the update file.
I want to copy it to computer.
Dont take the update youll be sorry
I do not want to be updated.
I want to find where the update file is loaded into the phone - where it is.
Cant get it wothour root access
Thank, but I have root access. And I have Root Explorer too.
Should be in the cache folder
Cool upload the oe1 recovery to sav us all !!
In the folder "Cache" no update file..
Search for "Update.zip" is my other guess. I use ES file explorer and am not sure on the root explorer features but with ES I believe I have to have show hidden files enabled to see secret stuff. Maybe the same with the update?
Thanks to all.
I figured out where the lost file update.zip.
CF-AutoRoot cleared FOTA folder in the folder CACHE.

Any chance you could flash back to stock, download the the update again, pull it off your phone with adb and then reroot?
Many of us would be eternally grateful to get a copy.

Some people need a copy?
I put it here.
There's a strange format archive, I was able to unpack in part by the latest version of 7-zip.
I saw that patched nearly all system applications.
..
Someone can explain to me why all regret that update to OE1?
Custom firmware does not interest me.

Sitting here on fresh Stock OB7 with update downloaded... can't find it with ADB.
tried ADB pull /cache/fota/update.zip Does not exist
tried ADB pull /cache/update.zip Does not exist
tried all I could think of.... does not exist...
Yes, ADB DOES recognize my device...
I've been out of commission for a couple weeks, would have thought this was handled by now.
See anything wrong with my syntax?

in the same boat as you. was gonna do it last night but prior obligations foiled that plan. even though its been posted, i was trying to pull it myself before coming here to see that its been posted already... still curious of the remote location though since i went back to OB7 for the sole purpose of pulling it.

Something wrong/different with the above linked file... I guess. I can't open it to extract the stock OE1 recovery.
Downloaded it 4 times. Maybe I'm just a little "slow".
EDIT: Managed to pull it off my phone... for whatever it's worth.

I not used adb.
I reflash odin OB7, download OTA update again, phone off, flash odin TWPR, download in TWPR and copy update.zip from /cache/fota to externalSD.
Mirror - OE1 update.zip on Mega.
Thanks for the reply. The reason a lot of people dont want the OE1 update is because of the limitations it puts on your phone. Cant use Odin in certain areas and also cant go back, from what i understood, limiting ones customization and tinkering abilities.
ewww @ mega.... ill pass and stick with the original, but thanks
@jhill110 you aint slowwwwwww, this entire OE1 has been nothing but hell from the start.

This update is not available stock OE1 recovery.
OB7 recovery is patched to OE1 recovery.
I wrote that the archive has a strange format, and I was able to unpack his part with errors only with the latest version of 7-zip.
I attached update-script from this update.
Added SHA1.
Added screens about recovery.
Yup, those are the only 2 files in the recovery folder via the update.zip
Both files
Downloaded the update. Guess it's good to have. Might need it for fixing up the firmware I modded to get next update. Or not. Lol
Sent from my SM-N910P using XDA Free mobile app

I went to the stock firmware thread, but it isn't explained how to flash them. The stock firmware files don't include a system.img file either. Only sparsechunk files.

There is a way to flash the sparsechunk files, you just need to find it in this same forum.

U can flash stock rom easily with latest RSD lite tool
U can download it from ..
http://rsdlite.en.lo4d.com/download
Connect ur phone to pc in fastboot mode
Select XML file from extracted stock firmware and start flash

need s251 boot.img

Hello!
The magisk root app offered an update to version 16.0 - after applying it via the app my phone didn't start anymore, 4 seconds of vibration follwed a by static blue light of the led
I flashed the boot.img of s244 to get the phone to work again.
Now the phone is running but I would like to go back to s251 of boot.img.
I cannot install the s244_TO_s251 - that just fails. Probably different versions are making it fail: my system is on s251 and recovery & boot are on s244
could someone send me the boot.img of s251 update?
or will it work to apply all systemchunk* to downgrade system to s244 and apply s244_TO_s251?
thanks!
Use the boot image from S244 room.. it work.. then you can decide if you want to clean flash the stock room or not
jupp i'm running s244 boot.img
should i apply all apply all systemchunk*.img to downgrade or what do you mean by "flash the stock rom" ?
Thanks!
Hi @miro101 :- Did you get the boot.img file of S251? If so, could you please provide the same?
Hello @sghegde87
I never found someone to upload the boot IMG I flashed all systemchunk to downgrade. After that I could update via Lenovo update tool.
Right now I'm on a custom kernel, but I you like, I could upload the backup of boot.img in s251 before I installed custom kernel. Just tell me
Download the S251 firmware and extract boot.img
I found it

Latest patched boot image for Mi A2 Lite?

I've seen a downloadable vanilla boot and patched boot img files for Mi A2 Lite (daisy) in the_custom_droid (I think this website is blocked in XDA so I am very uncomfortable about downloading the file in this site). I wonder if this is reliable and legitimate. Need help
I too have trust issues.
There's an official 10.0.12.0 fastboot image. You can install Magisk Manager and patch the image yourself (without root).

No, the image is written to a partition. You can only read it if you have root.
If you want to be adventurous...
Fastboot boot twrp 3.3.1-dees_troy.
Use DD to read the current boot (vanilla).
Reboot.
Use Magisk to patch the image.
Now you've made your own images!
