Enable Google Lens in Google Photos [MAGISK] [7.x.x/8.x.x] - OnePlus 5 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Introduction
Hello everyone! Having just now read this XDA article, I decided to try out the flashable zip linked in it. Needless to say, it worked like a charm! Hence, I decided to create a Magisk module for this so that those who don't want to mess with their system partitions can use the module to enable Google Lens in Google Photos. Have fun!

There wasn't any need to clear data for me. Loaded the module, restarted the phone, opened Google Photos and force-closed/killed it, reopened Google Photos and Google Lens was there.
The issue is most definitely at your end since the module has been working fine for me, my testers and all the people who've posted in this thread.

Please make sure that you're using the correct module zip for your Magisk version. If you use the wrong module zip for your Magisk version, it might end up in a bootloop, so.

Google lens on 1+5

Working on OnePlus One!

Working on the Oneplus X Oreo.

This is supposed to work only after we take a picture, right? It doesn't work if we open the camera and let google lens do it's work?

I am currently running Magisk 14.3 and i flashed v14.3 of google lens, but whenever i am opening google photos it's Force-closing every time.

Camera? Where did that come from? It works in Google Photos. Google Camera has got nothing to do with Google Lens. Basically, take a picture (from any Camera app), it'll get saved and will appear in Google Photos. Open that picture there and you will see a Lens button at the bottom.

Make sure you don't have any substratum theme overlays applied to Google Photos. If you don't have a theme/it still doesn't work after removing the theme and restarting, you can try clearing the data and cache of Google Photos from the settings and restarting your phone before launching Google Photos again. Good luck! :good:

Thanks for this module... v14 works perfectly on my OP5

When the camera app I go there on AR Stickere comes the message that the app has ended. I uploaded pictures
Ok thats weird. I will restore my nandroid in the next days and check it again.

No need to install ARCore apk just the magisk module is enough and works perfectly with the google camera "Arnova8G2's Google Camera Port" with the ROM Sense ...

same here :/
iam on leedroid (nougat)
It works for me
Stock Rom + root
I only flashed the. Module
OTA Updates after flashing
I am now completly on stock Rom. Am I right, that also when I only boot into twpm without flashing it and install the module zip, I have no chance to receive OTA updates anymore?
Works perfect on the Viper 2.3 Rom. Just install the google cam and then flash the ARCore.zip on twrp and you're good to go. You can also just use the latest google cam mod from Arnova 8G2 V8.3b from the other google cam thread. It's actually pretty freaking cool. I had my kid cracking up with the storm trooper in our living room.
Anyone try this on u12+ yet?

Google Camera not working after update (LineageOS 15.1)

Hi, I updated the camera app on play store, but after that it never worked anymore. When I open it, it gets stucked in a black screen with the camera logo in the center of the screen and then crashes. Can somebody please help me to fix this issue? Thanks in advice
Latest Google Camera (or version installed with gapps) only works on google devices (and maybe android one).
That is why there is GCam Ports available, and to make these work, you need to downgrade gapps to version that doesn't include Google Camera (Pico/Nano). Otherwise they will conflict even if you remove the app with TiBu etc.
Thank you very much! And how can I downgrade gapps? I have the super package

Dirty flash a smaller gapps package, be careful with what launcher your using because it maybe removed in the process.
Backup before hand just in case other google apps your using get removed. Reinstall from backup or play.
As for Gcam Port, i use this version from this thread.
As another alternative look at Mi A2 camera port for access to duel camera features.
Let me know if I got it: to downgrade the package, I only have to install a smaller package and it will automatically remove the bigger one? Is there a tutorial for it?
Okay, I managed to do everything right. But now I have another problem. The camera that you sent to me, crashes when I try to open the front camera. So I tried a bunch of other cameras, and the only one that works is the Arnovas, even if it doesn't save the selfies with hdr+ activated and when I try to take a selfie with flash at night, I only get a black image. This is the one that has less problems

Which Google Camera port should I use?

I have level 3 hardware support for camera2.
The problem is, the apk in the guide seems like an old version, but there are about 100 different APKs here
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-arnova8G2/#apk411
Which one should I use? Would be nice to know what to look for for future updates too
Thanks
Id like to know as well, the sheer amount of links on the GCam page is really confusing.
I'm using the MiMax version which works well but sadly the portrait mode doesn't and you need to turn off HDR+ to get the fron cam working
Try the cstark27 one of the best fit this device, front facing camera is about the only thing not working but don't do selfies so I am ok with that
Hass31's port was made for Daisy and is the most functional port available at the moment.

Yes but it is version 5 and has no night sight mode
Yet it still is the most functional one, lacking a gimmick feature that doesn't even work that well on this device isn't a huge deal.
Hi! I've update my MiA2Lite to Android 9 but now I don't find right version of GCam.. I tried many apk but everyone crashed when I start camera

Now in pie i use arthur's latest version.

There is no cera2api enabler in magisk download page. May be they removed it or what should i do to enable camera2 api?

After you've installed magisk
Download Root browser from play store
Open the Root browser
Go to the folder named "system" and open it
Scroll down to build.prop and click on it, open with Root browser text editor.
Scroll to the last line after the empty row press enter to start another row
Type 'persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1' without the quotations.
Press enter to move to another empty row
Them, press back and save changes
Now reboot your phone, you're good to go
Download pixelfy something like that

Google camera front camera black photo.

The front camera takes a black picture, but the rear camera works fine and I do not know what version to download so everything will work for me. I have a Root etc. Every version the front camera is black photo
It's a problem with Global/CN. I know there are some camera patches that supposedly can fix this, but I don't know witch one works in MIUI10 with Magisk. Please if you know any patch that can fix this link me to the file. Here is the thread with some files https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?for...6202&act=search&source=pst&query=Camera+Patch

Thanks for your reply, then we need an user who can create/already have a 4PDA account
There are no new versions of Camera patches, everyone there uses Gcam
Make sure you're using a Pixel 2 Gcam port. Pixel 3 Gcam still has buggy front camera performance, if it even works at all.

Almost perfect Gcam 7.2 with Video Recording, Night Sight, Manual Controls and Enhanc

Thanks to Kutlay for discovering the port and making the initial XML
APK: https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/trCamera_V7_FINAL.apk
How to install:
1. Download the APK
2. Install the APK
3. Run the App and quit it after it started
4. Download the attached "nift4-trCamera.xml"
5. Copy it into the folder trCamera/XMLConfigs on your device (The folder is not here? Did you start the App?)
6. Start the app again to make it detect the file
7. Follow the 2 pictures in Post #4
8. ENJOY GCAM!
(The manual controls need to be enabled in the settings.)
I use this on LineageOS 17.1
Bugs on LineageOS 17.1:
- Photo Sphere only takes 1 photo
- HDR+ doesn't work with the front cam
- Slow motion crashes

thank you so much <3
Great job.
I had to totally disable HDR though because if I took pictures relatively quickly it would never process some of them and they wouldn't appear in gallery, just stuck in the app with "HDR+ processing".

That is strange, works here. What is your ROM? There are some known problems with Gcam on non-LineageOS-based ROMs.
problems with focus
anyone else had problems with the focus?
before taking the picture the camera focuses perfectly, but when you click the shutter the focus is taken forward.
it only happens with this gcam, with the gcam that comes with the aosp rom of my moto g5 did not have this problem.
The camera crashing at startup was because I had not installed the OpenGapps, now it works correctly.

Getting 'Something went wrong, try recording again' error with video. Seems to help for a while if I reboot phone.
I was able to follow all the instructions successfully. On the first start everything works fine. I can switch to all camera modes: portrait, camera, video, panorama, .... But if I close the app and open it again, I get no camera preview on all picture based settings. The screens shows all the settings and grids, etc. but the camera preview is black.
All the other presets (video and more) are working fine (except the already mentioned slow motion crash which I can confirm).
OpenCamera from F-Droid works fine.
I'm on:

Lineageos 17.1 build from today (MintOS https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/development/rom-mint-os-lineage-extra-mint-t4102233
