Blame Qualcomm, not LG.
On the iPhone X, try to find the headset jack, quad DAC, IP68, and QHD (1440p) OLED display?

Oh, sorry. I assumed it was just another "benchmark" speed test showing the latest Apple iPhone CPU beats the Snapdragon 835.

No problem on the contrary v30 is kicking iPhone x's ass on almost every category. I have been a big supporter of v30 since the beginning and it makes me so happy to see results like this. Also when I look at the comment sections of youtube videos, so many people are aware of how v30 is superior to many devices, finally. I also notice your comments on Androidpolice website, keep up the good work

The V30 stacks up very, very well.

Wow, night and day difference compared to PhoneBuff's V30 vs iPhone X speed test. This guy's test is much more realistic vs PhoneBuff's. I know of exactly 0 people who open app after app after app. Looks like while the X may fare better in that made-up scenario, the V30 will fare better in real life usage.
Also, not surprised that the X beats the V30 by half seconds on games. The V30 is pushing almost twice the amount of pixels as the X (4,147,200 vs 2,740,500).

Honestly I tend to trust independent (generally with a couple of thousand followers) youtubers more than tech channels. Big guys like Apple and Samsung always know who to pay well to have them read their scripts

That is good, thank you. The writer has a very valid point that some reviewers are throwing LG under the bus, while making wide excuses for Apple and Google.

Agreed. If you open app after app obviously it will slow down as you are starting up more and more processes and filling the ram and cache up before it has time to clear. Not giving a realistic show of daily performance.

Just picked up the V30 and absolutely love it. Had the S8+, V20 and Note 8 before. Build quality feels premium, gorgeous screen, feels like the perfect size in my hand, awesome DAC. I am more than satisfied.

HTC One X vs Apple iPhone 4S {Video Comparison}

PhoneArena presents a brief comparison of the HTC One X and Apple iPhone 4S.
The HTC One X has been one of the most-anticipated handsets for the first half of this year, and for a reason -- this is the first phone powered by a quad-core processor, and not only that. The One X seems like a dream come true for every geek with passion for smartphones.
However, it's not only specs these days, so you can't judge a device by its specs sheet. It is time for the One X to go through the ultimate test. It's time for it to face the iPhone 4S!...

I read the whole article.
The guy has literally no idea what he's talking about.
http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/HTC-One-X-vs-Apple-iPhone-4S_id2998
The iPhone 4S is a great bit of kit, but c'mon!
Even though the iPhone 4S has lower pixel count, it actually has the upper hand in the pixel density department (330 ppi vs 312 ppi).

Basically, you are presented to a 4x4 grid of icons, and that's that. Of course, you can change the wallpaper, but that's as far as personalization goes on this device. On the other hand, though, this makes the iPhone 4S extremely easy and straightforward to use. It also means that the platforms is very light, so there's almost no lag whatsoever, no matter what apps you launch.

One would think that the One X would be the ultimate device to type texts or email on, due to its giant display, but in reality this isn't the case. The design of the keyboard isn't good enough, which limits your typing speed, due to a higher risk of key mispressing. On the other hand, the iPhone 4S only has a 3.5” screen, but its QWERTY keyboard is designed in such a way that typing doesn't present any problem. As a whole, you can achieve relatively the same typing speeds with both devices, which is a loss for the One X, since it relies on so much more real estate.

The smaller screen size actually isn't a problem, since the iPhone's software increases the size of the important font in order to make it easier to read. At the end of the day, you still have to scroll and zoom in or out a lot when surfing the web with both phones, but the iPhone makes this whole experience much easier on the nerves.

I'm not even going to bother starting to pick holes in the things he's written because, frankly, it's all rubbish.
He misses some of the really important bits of both phones, and turns every con of the iPhone into a pro, whilst neglecting features from the H1X (e.g. I find Safari unusable as the browser doesn't re-flow text on the fly when you zoom. This is the single most useful feature in any Android browser)
Lame review site makes lame video.
neeeeeext
I hate that guy voice...
It's clearly that he is biased toward the iPhone. The browser on the One X is a giant compared to iPhone, yet he prefer the iPhone just because the HTC renders the text (while it can be turned off).
And I didn't know that iPhone is comfortable to hold, is isn't ergonomically design like other phones, very easy to strip out of the hand without a case, and it's even heavier than the One X given the smaller size
For the camera, One X is much faster in continuous shooting while iPhone has 0.5s delay per shot. I don't know about One X's quality but the 4s's image quality is bad to my eye (since I have used to my Canon DSLR)
@qpop: Now that you mention those things in the article, yes..It's completely rubbish...
I saw Iphone 4s's drop just over a feet on the floor and completely shatter the screen. Great build quality :x

I don't understand the responses here. What is it that's so biased? With citations? In many ways the iphone is still better than one x right now. Some preference may be reversed with future updates, but that goes without question. You can't make a present comparison without future updates. I thought the comparison was thorough, pretty accurate, and pretty fair.

I wouldn't go that far....they're completely different.
iOS is more tightly integrated between software/hardware. Has better battery life, you can't deny it. I could get like 9 hours screen time when I had on and still have battery left. And games run better/more optimized.
But otherwise, the video was a joke. Honestly.....how is that do working for phonearena and being allowed to test/use all these goddamn awesome phones.
Gimme the One X and i'll make a better comparison video.

Is it Worth to buy LGOG ?

Hello,
Dear OPtimus G users,
Is it Worth to buy Lg optimus G over the Galaxy S III ?
Short answer yes.
Long answer YEEEEEEEEEEEEES.
Optimus g is better in everything but camera.
Anyway camera isnt much worse, just a little bit.
Enviado desde mi LG-F180L mediante Tapatalk
IMHO yes, it's great value for such little price, but camera sucks badly. Other things are still very good, screen is one of the best so far and desing looks as elegant as 2 years ago. Of course it all depends on your preferences.
Better Nexus 4 or 5.
if the Nexus 4 is avaible its the better option.

If the choice is between these two devices, I'd say definitely yes. The things against the OG are the camera (but honestly, it's quite decent, and not THAT bad as you might hear from some people -- my picture quality improved greatly after just cleaning the lens cover from the inside ), and the lack of an SD card slot. In every other aspect, technically and aesthetically, OG is a better phone, IMO. I love my OG!

"When I am given a choice of two options, I pick the third one". Frankly, N4 suggestion is questionable, to say the least, unless you are a die-hard Android purist. I personally didn't own an N4, but based on what I hear from people I know, everybody who had a chance to compare the two side by side, prefer the OG (not talking about the retail price here, of course). N5, however, is just not a fair comparison to either OG, or SGS3, or N4...
Thanks guys,Nexus 4 has only 16gb storage which is worse for me so i was looking for SGS III but its quiet expensive for me.
Lg OG is quiet bad in camera but I hearded that its camera quality can be improved by flashing AOSP Roms(Cyanogenmod,Carbon etc).Is that right ?
LG OG users,
Is this device is better in terms of gaming(especially in Graphics) ?

Since nexus 5 is so cheap, i would save up for it. Camera is good, if you dont have sun in front of camera...Light ruins every photo. No matter how strong or weak it is, it will ruin every photo you want to take indoors. Outdoors its okaai. In terms of gaming, this lil dude runs everything i want. It definately beats Samsung galaxy s3 in everything, but camera and sound. Display is amazing, and looks are nice too.
About slow-motion videos..idk. Stock camera doesnt have this function.
In short, it all depends from your budget and the price you can get the Optimus G for.

Gaming on the LG Optimus G is perfect! It supports medium to high graphics. From what I've seen, because I've played a lot of games on it, every game runs smooth with good graphics, like Real Racing 3 and like about a month ago, I started playing Blitz Brigade. Great games and good graphics. Price per performance, I find the LG Optimus G perfect! I am now on Kitkat made from LG. Stable, smooth, no lag/slowdowns at all and no crashes. Camera improved a lot since Kitkat. And you get 32GB of storage, 2GB of RAM, Adreno 320(Still great). It can run any emulator at full speed, except for Dolphin Emulator(Stays black and then crashes because of bad drivers) and PPSSPP(depending on the game).
And no.. It doesn't have Slow-Motion Video recording.. It has the capabilities, because the Xiaomi Mi2 can record up to 120fps at 480p and 720p at 60-90fps and has the same Qualcomm APQ8064. I mean, it should.. But it doesn't
No, there are better and cheaper devices out there already. I would go for the 4g moto G, for a good as it, or to the g3 to the best I think it's available.

Moto G has the best 5mp pictures I'd seen, has a processor that's running at the same clock beats the n4/og, has a screen that fits better in hands, and got all official updates one month after aosp sources were released. In theory it beats the og in all comparisons, apart from the theoretical one. Newer mid range how always beat older high end one. The prove is that three years ago the s2 and the atria were the best, now any **** is better than both.

Our phone is good, I'm just saying it isn't worth anymore. It has two years in the marked and there's a lot of better stuff cheaper. And I made the tests myself, the moto G is able to do everything the Og does fast as it is able. Remember also os something, snapdragon pro is a quad-core cortex a15 snapdragon 200 from 2012. Obsolete. If you want to spend money, spend in something with less than 6 months of market availability. Or not, you money, your choice.

Yeah sure, is really smart to buy a 2012 flagship instead of a 2014 mid-range which is faster, better, cheaper and also has more support time. Don't get me wrong. But the log is totally obsolete compared to newer devices, even some mid-ranges. Even the s4 mini is faster and smoother than the lgog...
I'm not saying it isn't good, just saying that if you want a flagship device, buy one new, not one outdated and almost unsupported by the oem.

I am waiting to see the responses you get. I, too, am thinking of getting a new phone. I am still using the Nexus 4. The LG G3 can be had for quite a bit cheaper (at least on AT&T) right now. It is $480 vs. $650 for the Nexus 6.
Hi, I have both.
G3 a little lag, worst camera
N6 less lag, worst battery, and personally I don't like that much the screen, and way too big

I thought the G3 was supposed to have a pretty good camera? It seems everything I read contradicts something else I've read. The battery life is good, the battery sucks. The screen is amazing, the screens nothing special. There's tons of lag, there isn't really any lag. I don't know what to think.

The G3 has an excellent camera. It rivals the iPhone 6 and beats the iPhone 5s.
I would personally take the G3 over the Nexus 6. The G3 has expandable memory and a removable battery. It's also smaller and lighter and it feels better in your hand. The Nexus 6 is just too big as well. Beyond 5.5" phones become too big IMO.

Thanks everyone for your replies on this.
I don't mean to hijack this thread from OP, but would like opinions if it's ok.
I'm torn between going ahead and buying the G3 at it's current AT&T price of $480 (using Next), or waiting on some of the new models that are coming out. Specifically, the Galaxy S6, the HTC M9, the Flex 2, and finally the Asus Zenfone 2. All of those, with the exception of the Zenfone 2, will be at least $650 I presume, therefore the G3 is quite a bit cheaper. So, I'm not sure if the features of these new devices is worth waiting and paying more, or should I just go ahead and get the G3 now with it's $480 price tag?
Thanks again everyone.
My friend has also asked for my opinion whether he should buy a phone now or wait for the next flagships and my advise is : wait for it. The first few new phones should appear in stores in mid March - April, as Snapdragon 810 appears it might be worthwhile to wait for it as it supports 64bit vs the current 32bit.
Anyway, my opinions for OP's question is to go for the Nexus 6. I currently have a LG G3 and i find that its battery sucks (i came from a HTC Butterfly S and LG G2, im quite a heavy user (games, reddit, whatsapp and calls) and my screen on time at most is only maybe 3 to 3 and a half hours at best, while my Butterfly S was able to reach around 5-6hours vs my LG G2 4-5hours. I find that the 2K screen is not worth the battery life at all, its barely comparable with just a Full HD screen, and the processor cant handle it properly.
Camera is fantastic. HTC Butterfly S's camera utilises Ultrapixels (the same as the HTC One M7 and M8) and the G3 beats it completely. It takes miliseconds to snap a photo.
The LG G3 LAGS. Its not the kind of lag you get when you use a low end phone, its more like...microlags. For example - my LG G2 and LG G3 was at one point both running Resurrection Lollipop Rom, and while the LG G2 was really fast and fluid, the G3 feels different, everything seems slower and abit jaggedy, though its not visible ; more like as a gut feeling. Its more like the processor is struggling to handle the screen resolution itself, and somewhat succeeds though not entirely.
If i were you i would go for the Nexus 6, though the price and expandable storage takes some consideration.

1. I somehow doubt it with my usage, Nexus 6 is AMOLED too which saves even more battery than G3's IPS screen.
2. Hmm ill try it now, though currently trying CloudyG3. Its not the number of apps it can run, the lag happens during more of its animations even when theres no apps in the background.
I'd choose G3, the nexus 6 is way big for me. The most important is I like the G3 outlook, it's gorgeous
And what about choosing between Sona Z3 vs HTC M8? Or other alike candidate (Samsung is not an option)?

Any HTC 10 owner (and previous Iphone 6s plus) care to compare those phones?

Hi,
I am mostly interested in battery life and camera quality.
Thanks for any input!
Apple bad, HTC good. lol
Seriously, I have no idea. I've never had a desire to buy an Apple product. That said, it would be interesting to see how they compare.
Of course, your question is going to have a delayed response as hardly anyone has their units. HTC hasn't shipped them yet.
I'd be happy to offer my 2 cents once my 10 arrives.
I can say this though. I've owned the M7, M8, M9, Nexus 6P, etc... (you can look at my sig).
The iPhone 6 Plus and 6S Plus are the only smart phones I've ever owned to make it comfortably through a day for me. The 6P would, but I'd have to alter my usage.

Spoiler alert... anyone's answer will be bias. iPhone fan boys will think iPhone is the best and HTC fanboys will tell you HTC is best. What you will want to compare the features. I've noticed iPhone's battery life has gotten worse. Many 6 and 6S user complain to me all the time. HTC is to be judged, the reviews seem promising but I think the two of them will be similar.
As far as cameras.. there are so many reviews on this. Keep in mind the HTC was using a preproduction firmware and could get better:

Good luck deciding, if you do lean towards iPhone I would highly recommend you wait until fall for the iPhone 7.
Hi
I have iPhone 6s Plus, I had Xperia z2, Htc M7, galaxy note 3, Galaxy s2 so I know both worlds.
I am not interested in fanboy's opinions, only those that had exposure to both phones and can say which phone worked better for them, in their use case scenarios.

You are going to have to wait about a month for a good report. I sent you the links above and you can google htc 10 vs iphone 6S to find tons of reviews but until we get our phones and used it for a while we wont have a good comparison. I too have used both sides (see my signature) but a very small amount of people here have the 10 yet.
I'd rather have end user opinions on final software than prerelease versions of Htc 10 reviewed by "specialists".
I don't mind waiting for people until they receive their phones and have time to play with.
I will take care of this thread and hopefully people will start putting their opinions.
Keep in mind I don't expectant scientific data, just your comparisons basing on your usage.
Thanks!

I guess since I currently own Apple products and my battery life is phenomenal, I'm a fanboy. :silly:
That being said, the 6S Plus is the most sturdy feeling phone I've used to date. No Bendgate here.
I would also second the notion that if you are seriously considering an iPhone, wait until the 7 (if you can).

lol no I didn't say your battery life is consistent with your fanboyishness just what I have heard. The last iPhone I owned was the 6 so I cannot speak of the 6S. I didn't really have battery issues with the 6. It wasn't amazing but it got me through the day. That's all I care about really.

For me, even the 6 didn't have the stamina I needed. The 6P was the closest I've come on the Android side of the fence. I just want my phone to last through the day without me having to change my usage habits and have enough juice in case of an emergency.

I never have battery problems with my 6P. It is the smoothest and best android experience i've had. I'm excited to get the 10 and see how it compares. I'm not into phablets all that much or I'd keep it.
As I mentioned I have 6s plus, it is not a matter of choosing to buy an iPhone now or Htc 10. I have iPhone and wondering if I will sacrifice too much battery life and or camera quality.
That's it.

Yeah I get it, still have to wait to find out.
All reviews point to good battery and good camera. I'm sure it will only get better so I'd say yes. But keep in mind that everyone's usage differs. This means everyone's battery life will be different based on how they use the phone. But you get 30 days to try it out... why not get it and see how they compare side by side? You are the only one that can use the 10 how you use the iPhone to see if it is worth switching. I might get the 10 and view it one way, you might get it and view it completely differently. You can always return it if you hate it.

If the camera really is the same module as the Nexus 6P has, then honestly, it will be an upgrade for you (IMO). My 6P, in my option, took far better pictures than my 6S+ does.
Battery life will be more subjective. As I've said, my 6+/6S+ were the only phones I've owned to last me and entire day comfortably (30%+ left at 11pm or so). The Nexus 6P, with it's battery guzzling 810 chipset and 3450mah battery could last a day for me, but towards late afternoon I'd start being more conservative in my usage. I would not be able to last the day if I did any sort of gaming (Hearthstone, etc) or heavy Facebook usage.
Additionally, I apparently am a much heavier user than most.
I'm hoping that with the increased size (3000mah) and more efficient 820, that the HTC 10 will at least his Nexus 6P stamina territory.

I really don't understand how could you receive a phone for 30 days with an option to return it.
I saw comments here of people's who said almost the same as you..
When i want a new phone i have to sell mine and then buying the one i want.
It's just interesting me how's it's work in other countries.

I own 2 phones, I will try out the 10 and if I like it I will sell my phone. If I don't I'll keep it. Some people can afford to keep both but I like being married
@valdigre
What made you replace the Z2?
The device isn't even that old yet, and it still performs really well.
The recent Marshmallow update has done wonders for the device in both performance and battery life. I doubted it would get faster, but it has.
Just curious

Dreadful camera, I really like making photos and very bad camera, no ois, dreadful panorama etc.
The phone is still on the family, my gf uses it and loves it but there is no comparison with iPhone 6s Plus.
To be honest none of the new flagships impressed with dramatically better camera than iPhone 6s.
I will maybe hold off for new nexuses, iPhone 7 or next year

To be honest, the camera isn't the best thing ever, especially the pitiful 2mp front one (we don't speak of it )
The rear one can be good, if the phone feels like it
It really depends what you're pointing at, which isn't the hallmark of a good camera.
iPhone 6S will eat the Z2 for breakfast in the camera department, hands down.
Still a great device even today.
I'll only upgrade once phones have solar panels

For iPhone: wait until 2017 version and NOT this coming September 2016 version.

Is the HTC 10 as smooth as the Google Pixel?

I guys. Have the HTC One M8. I've been thinking about upgrading to the HTC 10. Haven't tried any of them, even at a store.
Question to anyone who had or tried both, is the Pixel much smoother than the 10? What about sound quality? The 10 rocks, from what I've read, is the Pixel worse in that department?
Cheers

Already a thread for this.
Vanilla vs any custom UI is always going to be smoother.
Sense and Touchwiz and the like are getting better but vanilla will always be more fluid.
Install cm or r. Remix and you'll have the same.
Sense is really smooth though, barely any difference.
I tried the pixel, the 10 is just as fast, but the pixel is slightly smoother and Google have changed the acceleration so it feels a little more like IOS. As far as audio goes, have a watch of Pocketnow's audio review of the pixel, the results are average.

Pixel audio vs the 2016 competition, with God-Emperor One M8 as contrast/reference.
Audio on HTC is superior, no competition.

More bassy, more sound quality but lower volume than the m8. The HTC one m8 is, quoting the guy who made the test, "a league of its own".

Never had the m8 but I've heard good things, had the m7 and m9 both had great matching speakers. Prefer the 10's sound quality though.

Some people using leedroid have said that its smoother. More fluid. I haven't committed yet, I'll flash this Sunday maybe..
The app opening and app switching is not by a couple of milliseconds. However the rest is pretty much on par.
This means that maybe on video the Pixel opens apps a tiny bit faster, but when something is really demanding, bot devices struggle equally

Just ordered a pixel for my daughter. I'll have a benchmark vs when she opens it on Xmas, see who wins. Have to say, pure android is a fluid system, only reason why I came back to htc was I missed sense, avoided the 10 and got the 6P as I had read that they were going with a sub par chip set, then ironically they went with the sd820, classic [emoji30]
But I have to say, the 6P the 10 the pixel, the difference is so marginal it doesn't even merit an argument, yes you'll see slight differences here and there but so long as its not lagging or halting all the time it's a difference that you'll never notice.
(Me in January, yes my good man I'd like a pixel please it's how much? Jesus, take the cash)
Then the 11 will drop and i'll be giving it to a family member. Happens a lot with me, I'm very unlucky.
Also have to say and very off topic and probably sacrilegious here, but the Samsung S8 is probably going to be a beast of a phone, they've got a lot to make up for, now if only they did a vanilla version, I'd be on board in a heart beat, least until the next htc came out.. [emoji16]

I'm curious what the definition of 'smoother' is for this thread. If less smooth...does that translate to lag?
