How to: ROOT Honor 6x EMUI 5.0 / ANDROID 7.0 USA VERSION BLN-L24 - Honor 6X Guides, News, & Discussion

Requirements for this to work.
1. You need to be on emui 4.1/4.0 before hand
If not you can rollback. downloads and instructions
Are on huawei website (you do need a sd card to do this)
2. A computer with Huawei update extractor and adb tools
3.unlocked bootloader (rolling back locks it again)
4. Twrp recovery from the website not the Chinese method. (Twrp website version has bugs which is important)
5. Es file explorer already installed with root permissions on (even though you're not rooted)
FOR PEOPLE WHO STAYED ON EMUI 4.0
For everyone else on emui 5.0 rollback to emui 4.0 unlock the bootloader and flash twrp threw adb and. Follow the guide after you done that.
If you stayed on emui 4.0 for root permissions good for you . You have a shortcut all you need to do is flash twrp from their website and download the emui 4.0 firmware from Huawei's website extract the UPDATE.APP onto the desktop and drag it into the Huawei update extractor. After that you're going to extract the boot.img from the tool by right clicking then you're going to have to flash the stock boot.img you just extracted to remove root . You'll keep twrp so don't worry. Now all you have to do is let the update to emui 5.0 download to 100% now hit update. It's going to reboot into twrp to update. It will loop so DO NOT WORRY that's the bug I'm talking about it will force twrp to update you will see the terminal as twrp flashes the update after it stops looping then the screen will go black and show erecovery finishing the update.
when it boots unlock your phone open Es File Explorer when you open the application on screen will say "new files" there will be 2 zip files one of them will say update.zip.
Tap on it to open that folder. Notice that the files are going to be under the storage/emulated/0 folders which you can only get to with root copy or move both zip files to your /sdcard/download directory connect your phone to your computer open the update.zip folder and drag the update.app to the Huawei update extractor and extract the boot.img take the boot.img and put it back on your phone in the download folder.
Open magisk manager tap install and then tap on patch to boot.img now go to the magiskmanager folder copy the patched boot.img to downloads if your download folder and extract it to your desktop. After that adb your phone into bootloader mode and flash the boot.img reboot and you'll be rooted with magisk!
This is exactly how I rooted my honor 6x USA version and I know lots of people where wanting root on emui 5.0 and if you run into any bootloops or brick your phone you already have the backup stock images to try again if you want . I do apaolgize about how this looks messy and how long the guide is but it works ! I would have just uploaded the boot.img I patched but I'm new to xda and they won't let me post outside links so try it out !

But there are already guides for emui 4 and 5.
No need to rollback just to root.
There is one in my signature for emui 5

Well that was something I couldn't find I've looked forever. And I did flash twrp but it would never boot into the recovery on 5.0 that's why I did this process so I guess this is for the people who are having the same problem with their u.s version of the phone. Thanks for letting me know .

Back to Stock ROM from Service ROM - Honor 7x BND-AL10

My Honor 7x BND-AL10 was stuck on eRecovery with Bootloader Locked.
I used this method to run OS i.e. Service ROM
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7x/help/helpstuck-erecovery-bootloader-locked-t3826572
Now i am unable to get back to any Stock ROM.
I referred Same device with a friend it says BND-AL10 8.0.0.330(C675)
Please provide link of software and info to Flash Stock ROM in it.
Special Thanks to @mrmazak for solving Bootloader Locked Problem.
Solution By @mrmazak
Full Link https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7x/how-to/guide-honor-7x-flash-oreo-update-t3781649
Note: Please Validate your download in Firmware Finder while it's available for download, versions which are yet not available but are shown in Firmware Finder may include bugs or mayn't work at all.
Short Explained Solution Below
Continue from here if you are on service ROM and want to flash STOCK or read full guide with above link.
Process
A. Extract HWOTA package. Copy both HWOTA7 and HWOTA8 folders onto sdcard.
B. Add your Three (3) update files to HWOTA folder; 7 if on Nougat: 8 if on Oreo. (Maybe 2 or 3, which you need to download from Firmware Finder, In firmware finder when you click on files button after your firmware code, You can see 2 or 3 different zip, download all of them and place in HWOTA folder according to Android Version)
C. Connect phone and enable adb , Use Replace_Recovery.bat in HWOTA to flash TWRP recovery.(if have twrp skip to E) or Flash from Fastboot, because sometimes adb not working for some users.
D. Disconnect USB cable, use Vol-Up + Power to boot into TWRP.
E. From in TWRP install sdcard hwota7-8_update-auto.zip (This file was in HWOTA folder, outside HWOTA7 and HWOTA8), it will install no-check recovery then add cache commands to do update.
F. Watch twrp screen for the message to press volume button to continue.

Complete Guide on Oreo Update without any error on HONOR 6x (HUAWEI GR5 2017)

After trying many so time i successfully upgraded my Honor 6x BLL-L22 to oreo.
I don’t know about other brand of honor 6x but i assume that it will work on them too.
First thing you need is bootloader unlock. For this you can search google. there are tons of answer for bootloader unlocking. So, i am not discussing here.
Rebranding the honor 6x BLL-L22 to BLN-L22
1. Download HWOTA tools. Unzip it and Place HWOTA folder in C:/Users path.
2. Rename folder BLN to BLL inside OEMINFO folder of HWOTA
3. Download oeminfo.zip and extract oeminfo file and rename to oeminfoBLN.
4. Place oeminfoBLN file into BLL folder
5. Download these file Oreo 8.0.0.510
https://thin.at/H09WP
https://thin.at/TLSHHr8y
https://thin.at/CzcIFvbJ
6. Re-name the files update.zip, update_all_hw.zip, and update_data_public.zip to update
7. Now place it into HWOTA/update
8. Connect your phone on pc via usb and and boot into fastboot recovery mode (press volume down and power ) run update.bat from the HWOTA folder and it will install Nougot Version of TWRP in your Honor 6x.
9. Then it will ask you to run TWRP recovery, it will show you guide how to boot into twrp recovery (volume Up and power with usb connected to PC)
10. After booting to TWRP then press enter in command prompt in pc
11. Now select 2 script update method
12. Again select 2 change location method
13. Then it will list you different OEM to rebrand. Choose oeminfoBLN and press enter
14. It will rebrand your device into BLN-L22 indian version. After rebranding phone will automatically lock bootloader.
Installing Oreo 8.0.0.510
15. Again unlock bootloader
16. Follow above steps from 8 to 11
17. Now select 1 change firmware
18. Then it will install oreo 8.0.0.510 in your phone.
19. now phone will go to normal boot.
Installing Oreo 8.0.0.520
20. Now download this file (oreo 8.0.0.520)
https://thin.at/nDPkta
21. Extract the downloaded file the you will see update_sd.zip
22. Unzip update_sd.zip file to get out update.app and other files
23. Create a new dload folder and put all files with update.app
24. Format your SD card and put dload folder in root directory of SD card
25. Insert SD card in phone
26. Go to phone dialer press *#*#2846579#*#*
27. Select Software Upgrade
28. Now it will restart to install the updates
Installing vendor information (Oreo 8.0.0.520)

35. After locking bootloader, it will restart and reset phone.
Testing vendor applications

50. After completion of flashing lock your bootloader and again enjoy the taste of Oreo…:good::good::good:
UDATE: i will update the link soon. thank you for your patients...
I see. Thanks.
Once on Oreo, if the themes etc aren't working, simply unlock Bootloader, flash recovery, use HurUpdater to flash same Oreo ROM again (after formatting data partition with TWRP to decrypt it) followed by a factory reset with stock recovery
The links are not working. Can you please fix those?

Convert Docomo dtab d-02h into Global version 802L

I do not own any of the original work. I just tried it, it worked and Reposted in XDA as there was no such guide here. I know it is an old device but there are still some legends and those people can take advantage of this guide.
It only takes time to do it properly, so you can download necessary files and so on.
Start TWRP
Connect to PC by USB debugging and execute adb reboot recovery command, or press and hold the volume button and power button at the same time (about 8 seconds) from the power off state to start.
Select Wipe ⇒ Format Data from the menu and select yes. . .
* If you do not delete the data once, the upgrade package distributed for Mediapad M2 to be introduced may cause an installation error.
File download
The DL and folder name of the required files are " M2 ". (Zip and harden)
Decompress after DL and move the files inside to "platform-tools".
BOOT.img
CUST.img
SYSTEM.img
RECOVERY.img
There are four files mentioned above.
Install M2-android5.1.X. . .
* If you do not do this, you will not be able to upgrade to a later version.
* Please keep your PC and tablet ADB after this.
adb devices
fastboot flash boot BOOT.img
fastboot flash cust CUST.img
fastboot flash system SYSTEM.img
Finally, make the recovery the original M2 one
fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.img
fastboot reboot
After reboot, it will be changed to Huawei M2-android5.1.X including recovery.
Download "M2-802LC229B207CUSTC229D006" from " [ROM] [STOCK] [Android 6.0] [M2-802L] B207-Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.0 " of Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.0
XDA . Move the downloaded file to the platform-tools folder without decompressing it and execute the following command. * Please create a "dload" folder in the tablet in advance, otherwise an installation error will occur when the command is executed.
adb push update.zip /sdcard/dload
After transfer, open Settings ⇒ System Update and select “Update Locally” from the menu. After selecting update.zip, tap Install to start the update.
With the above, it is changed to Huawei M2-android6.0.X / EMUI 4.0.X. . . Remember to reboot after installation! ! !

How To Guide How to extract boot img files with TWRP and root your phone [OOS open beta F.08 Android 13]

Hi,
for those who want to install and root the open beta based on android 13, here's how.
Prerequisite
- SDK Platform-Tools for Windows
- OnePlus_USB_Drivers_Setup
- TWRP image file for OnePlus 9 pro
- usb tpye-C otg cable and FAT32 memory card
or usb type-C/usb type-A dual socket memory card
- Android Bootloader Interface driver
Download links for OnePlus 9 Pro full packages:
OnePlus 9 Pro (IN)
OnePlus 9 Pro (NA)
- Be sure that your device is in the latest OxygenOS 12 version C.63 and completely unrooted.
You will need this apk to perform the update: OPLocalUpdate_For_Android12.apk
Be careful this operation will erase all your data. Back them up before updating
- Once the update is done, unlock the bootloader and enable usb debugging.
1- Download the latest TWRP: twrp-3.6.2_11-0-lemonadep.img and put it in the fastboot folder of your pc ( with this twrp you will not be able to access your phone's internal memory but that's not a problem, that's why we need a usb key ).
2- Start your phone in fastboot mode then connect it to your pc.
3- open a command prompt on your pc from the fastboot folder and run ( don't flash, only boot) : fastboot boot twrp-3.6.2_11-0-lemonadep.img
4- once in twrp, connect a usb key to your phone, select Mount / Select Storage / USB storage.
5- go back to Advanced and to Terminal.
6- in the TWRP terminal run : dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/boot of=/usbstorage/boot.img
7- disconnect the usb key and plug it into your pc to check that the extraction was successful and that the boot file is indeed present on the usb key.
8- restart your phone.
9- copy and paste the extracted boot.img into the phone's internal memory.
You now have the boot.img file to patch, you just need to install magisk to patch the file.
So as not to end up in bootloop, remember to always test the file with the command : fastboot boot magisk_patched.img
If the phone restarts and you are rooted, reboot to fastboot and run : fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img
Stock and patched files : LE2121 boot img files / LE2125 boot img files
thanks! this method worked for me.

copy the android13 zip file to your phone (\sdcard)
open OPLocalUpdate_For_Android12 and go to top right corner
select the zip file
Look at Steve0007 thread . Thanks for his work

how is that possible? TWRP does not work in android 12
I did it , the extracted files are at the bottom of the first post.
it's the file decryption that doesn't work.
With payload dumper I did not succeed.
hey guys I have done a similar thing.
I patched the boot.img from payload.bin using payload dumper.
This is the patched file.
magisk_patched.img
drive.google.com
Copy the file to pc.
Phone to fastboot mode.
Connect via usb.
Enter Powershell using Left Shift + Right CLick
Enter command: fastboot boot <patched file>
It will reboot your phone. If not, enter command: fastboot reboot.
Once rebooted.
Install Magisk App and direct install after this.
Enjoy.
*THIS IS FOR ALL WHO HAVE LOST ROOT ACCESS AFTER UPDATING. BUT CAN ALSO BE FOLLOWED AFTER UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER THE 1ST TIME. THIS IS FOR INDIAN VERSIONS ONLY.*
