Travelling abroad - Google Pixel 2 XL Questions & Answers

Will. Pixel 2 purchased in the UK operate on LTE bands used in Canada. Will a US purchase work in the UK?

They all have the same bands, so should work everywhere

IPAC 910C & T-Mobile

I have the HP IPAC 910C and use it with T-Mobile while in the USA with no problems. However, while traveling internationally, it does not work. International roaming is activated on my account, but so far i have not been able to get a signal. I tried to use while in Japan and South Korea. According to T-Mobile Customer Service, only in Canada and Mexico is international roaming available with rep-paid accounts. Is there a programming trick or application available to over come this obstacle?
Thanx for any help!!

Dual GSM CDMA version?

Is such a beast available for purchase anywhere yet?
I realize it won't be compatible with US GSM frequencies, I just want it to work on both my CDMA verizon account and GSM in Europe (Norway, Germany and Switzerland). I'm leaving at the begining of august for a few months so I'd need it before then.
I'd leave Verizon in a second, but I'm tied to it through work.
I live in New Zealand and purchased an unlocked touch pro 2 from singapore which is compatible on both the gsm and wcdma networks here if that helps.

get the regular Note, LTE is still a long way. EE will not have the whole uk covered for maybe a year, god knows when O2 will and giffgaff paying for it.
By then u will be looking at the Note III at best or rumors of Note IV

Does a Nexus 5x from USA work in Europe / Germany

Hello Guys,
does anybody know, if a Nexus 5X, which I want to buy on my next visit in USA will work in Germany?
As I heard the US Providers do not use SIM cards.
Thanks for your help.
SLC_SHARK
We DO use SIM cards. Only 2 carriers don't.
I believe the phone should work fine over there.
In europe lte bands 3,7,20 are used to provide 4g connectivity.....I believe the american model doesn't have lte band 20, as long as your carrier supports also band 3 and 7 you should be fine or at least with worse coverage
It works fine, your only problem might be LTE not working due to the different bands.

NA or Int'l Version (Connectivity) - Pixel Phone

Hi Group.
I'm in a geographical predicament and thought your suggestions would be useful in purchasing my new phone... I am going to buy the Pixel XL, but don't know if I should buy it in the USA when I go or buy it in London where I live. I am Canadian and go back and forth quite often, but my homebase and Home is in London. Knowing that there are always two versions, North America and International, I was wondering which one I should buy... When in Canada I use Bell, and when in London (where I am 90% of the time) I am with 3 (Three.co.uk).
Which should I get/where should I buy it, seeing that I heard that sometimes the different versions burn battery life differently.
Thanks!
I'd say the main thing to consider (which I'm concerned about as well) is the Carrier Aggregation for LTE, I placed a preorder for the XL, but I won't be using it in the states. My carrier supports LTE Band 1 and 3, however if you look at the CA combinations in the technical specs, the US model won't support B1+B3 aggregation, only the international model will. You might be in a different boat though, so check your carrier's LTE Band support and see if the US model supports those for CA. US model is cheaper after all.
yeah it all comes down to the bands, as a rule the international always has more available bands, but there are still a handful that are exclusive to the US or International version, so all you can do is research what the networks you use work on and then go from there picking the version that has all the bands you need.
