Battery suggestion - OnePlus 2 Accessories

I bought a supposedly genuine battery off of Ebay that turned out to be a total bust. It doesn't fit well either as I can feel it shifting inside the phone. :crying:
Does anyone have any suggestions on good OPO 2 replacement batteries?

I actually bought 2 different ones (one from ebay and one from a different site). Both of which turned out to be bad. They worked but they lasted less than the original one. I ended up going back to the original. If yours' is tottaly dead, I suggest you just stick with whatever you've got and don't waste more money.

why don't you buy it from oneplus store?

Because if you already knew, oneplus doesn't sell any replacement parts through their store, they only do repairs (which are expensive afaik)

Damn, guess I'll have to go back to the old one. I might try Amazon and see if they're better than ebay.

Thinking after 2 years it's time for a battery replacement, I ordered as well recently from Ebay waiting it to be delivered but not keeping my hopes high. I let you guys know if it turns out OK.
Edit: It's terrible. Overheats and charges really slow etc. Went back to the stock. Ordered another one. Will update.
Edit 2: Back again to stock.

same here guys.. got the phone for 20 months now and in winter I got huge battery drops....I'm just calling/email and the battery won't last for more then 8 hrs... this is crazy...

same here, bought two on ebay, both worse than the original.
Asked support where to get a original replacement, but they wouldn't tell, but offered to do the replacement for around 40 Euros. It took almost 5 weeks though, so if you have a spare phone, I'd advise to do the same, instead of trying to find a decent replacement somewhere....

Hi everyone, reviving this thread as the older our beloved op2 gets the more and more of us will be in a need of a replacement battery.
Now, did anyone have any luck finding an oem battery replacement somewhere else than OP support?
All the "originals" on eBay seem to be garbage.

before you start getting stuff from ebay and other questionable sources, ask OP how much will it cost you for THEM to replace it.
in my case, they are asking for 33 euros which is actually not bad at all. as a matter of facts, i am actually sending mine out for repair tomorrow. sure, i will have to live without my OP for like 2 weeks, but there is a guarantee i will get an original battery.
rule of a thumb - "original" batteries from ebay are ****

I agree. Charged the same. Like you said, will give it to service Centre.

Hi all, so I've bought one on ebay for like 15$ with tools set and so far so good, on one charge got like 1,5 - 2 days - average usage (calls, emails, toilet gaming) , but charging time is longer i think... keywords for ebay "Original NEW Battery BLP597 For OnePlus Two 2 With Nice Tools 3200mAh 3.8V"
I'm using it for 3rd week now...

I recently had my battery replaced by OP.
RMA created in the weekend.
Package shipped out on Tuesday evening (through UPS).
Delivered at the repair center on Wednesday, repair quote received (and paid) in the evening.
Repaired on Thursday morning and dispatched later that day.
Received back in my possession (UPS delivered) on Friday.
Sure, it was wiped, bootloader locked and flashed with OOS 3.6.1. but that was expected.
I have absolutely no reason to complain and I hereby officially regret all my previous attempts to get a "new" battery from ebay or other questionable sources for which I wasted more money than OP asked for: 33 EUR.
New battery immediately increased the SOT by 1 hour and i no longer face the issue i faced before which was: whenever the battery dropped to 30% i knew i had no more than half an hour left until the phone died.
So, if you need a new battery, save yourself the time and money and do it the same way. I would certainly recommend this to all european customers, like me.

Hello, can you please install "accubatery" app from playstore and charge your phone from 1-100% without using it? It will show you a real estimate of your battery capacity. Post screenshots afterwards, I will buy that battery for sure if its close to an original new one. Thank you!

Hi, will install it, but not sure about the 0-100% as I need the phone for daily use..maybe during weekend

Thank you, the 0-100% is not that important, the bigger fraction of charge the better, you can install it now and it will measure your battery over time, the more charge sessions of over 20% the more accurate results it gives.

Hi so I've done it yesterday. See screenshots attached.

That's actually very nice score, looks like a real oem battery or a very close one. New original. Batteries show around 90%-93% with that app. Buying one, thankyou.

Maybe this has been asked elsewhere... but facing the fact that mostly our only option here is 3rd party batteries... has anyone tried one of the two (or more?) Chinese 3800mAh batteries? One is called an HSABAT (maybe the company) and the other a Da Da Xiong.
Here's the HSABAT "New 3800mAh BLP597 Battery" (I am not recommending or dissing this! Just interested if someone's tried it!):
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HSABAT-N...Oneplus-2-One-Plus-Two-Battery-p/202269516963
And here's the Da Da Xiong 3800mAh BLP597 Battery:
https://www.dhgate.com/store/product/da-da-xiong-3800mah-blp597-battery-for-oneplus/399378631.html
AGAIN... neither of these have been tested by me. I am wanting input from anyone who has tested them. I know we sometimes have opinions re China, many of those opinions bogus, but folks our phones were made there. So maybe these are good. And maybe they are a joke. I hope for input from someone who's tried 'em.

Finding a reputable seller

I'm on the market to upgrade my battery from the 1300 to the evo 1500 mah.
I was looking for a bargain deal that isn't too good to be true. Like a twenty dollar battery. Does anyone who bought from ebay know any reputable sellers I should by from?
Sent from my Incredible using XDA app
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160506872405
I bought these and they are real (when I bought them in June they were at least)
Can you comfirm the labels on the battery match this?
http://androidforums.com/incredible-accessories/99219-1500mah-fake-real.html
Yes the label is correct. If you read the link you posted it says a lot good about that seller. BUT, I am posting this since today, exactly 6 months after purchase, the battery from that seller died. It overheated and wont charge or power the phone. It gave no warning since it was working great. Also weird; it died exactly at 6 months old.....to the day I bought it. I am also now looking for a NEW reputable seller. I am looking at this auction 280605134627 since if I am going to get screwed, might as well be for as little as possible.

Amazon 2 X 1500 Batteries

Has anyone checked this deal out at all?
2 1500mAH and a charger for $29.99
Dan
Update - The seller has now raised the price by $5.
I haven't seen it before. But, two batteries and an external charger for $30? Can't beat that, just bought it.
Let me know how it does.
Will do. Ground shipping so it'll probably be later this week.
From what I have read on them (ChiChiTech), expect on par or slightly less than OEM, but will serve purpose. Customer service sucks, but Amazon takes care of that, so should be ok. They also sell on ebay.
I think I can't order it. They used the most tasteless SEO.

This is the same thing that is on ebay for around $12 free shipping. I bought one for my DINC and it worked great. Gonna get another set for the Bolt from ebay.

I have to agree on the SEO issue, it's in poor taste to use the horrific events to sell a product. They likely work for Groupon and the superbowl ad company they used.

Ordered the same set up on the 18th, so hopefully it's here by end of month.
I agree - for $12, it's worth a punt - worse comes to worse, I'm out lunch + coffee money for a day (I live in NY ). Best case scenario obviously I then have 4 batteries.
Estimated between April 08 - April 21
WOW, just wow! hope you dont need them soon! id find another seller on ebay and pay a few dollars more for within a week atleast.

Picked it up last night. I don't care how long it takes, it's worth it just for the external charger, even if the batteries suck.
Worst case scenario, it would still get me a few extra hours. Best case: 4 batteries. Good deal.

Seems way too cheap to me but I just pulled the trigger too. Hopefully at least the charger works.
Their website is htcexpress.com. I got the 1800 mah batteries for my DInc. One of them gets way better than stock life and the other about the same. So hit or miss, I guess. I ordered some 1500s for my Bolt. Looks like it uses the same batteries as the MyTouch 4G.
You guys know thats an aftermarket battery in the amazon listing
deceiving pictures
I have purchased the "replacement" aftermarket batteries from overseas for the third time now. The first was for the Touch Pro, next for the Touch Pro 2 and now for the Thunderbolt. They arent as good as the OEM IMHO but do they really need to be?? I suggest being very careful with the wall charger though, very easy to brake stuff on the inside of the thing. After that happens it takes time (plugging and unplugging the stupid thing in the wall) to get it to charge a battery. Overall for the price u cant beat it!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004GSWOZQ from what I've read the MyTouch has the same battery, I've purchased it and I'll give an update when I receive it. It's only 24.99 versus the 34.99 that they're marketing for the Thunderbolt.
sweet man. I might just have to get this

Is it ok to use a $18 replacement battery

I see newpower99 sells replacement battery for the T800 for $69. Then there's an eBay merchant that sells one for $18
http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/281587417724?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_noapp=true
Anybody with experience with these? Maybe the cheap battery will blow up in my face or maybe newpower99 just grossly marks up?
I was going to give one a go myself when my battery eventually dies, the ebay seller has good feedback for the sales he has made.
But if the worsted happens, you have nobody to sue for damages like you get with a big seller like M99
I myself will take the chance but that is my choice, you have to make your own mind up.
John.
Nope, been there, done that. Bought cheap replacement batteries before. They didn't blow up or cause any damage, but they never took a charge either! These were 4, count them, 4 batteries for a Canon digital SLR camera. I bought one, no luck, they sent me 3 additional replacements none of which would charge. I did get my money refunded and I bought a REAL Canon battery and it DID charge. Nope, no way I'll do it again. OEM only for ME.

Probably have to agree with this. Cheap for a reason. If it doesn't blow up or damage the device I doubt it'll hold charge or last very long.
So.... Did anyone here end up replacing their batteries?
If so - did you roll the dice with ebay, or go the pricier route with Newpower99?
My battery is still relatively decent, but I expect will need eventual replacement.
What would be a good app to assess a battery, and which result would trigger replacement?
I did replace my 8.4 battery with a new one... bough it at my country for RM 75... approximately around USD 16 and it work fine.
Same here. Got a 15 euro battery on Ebay out of Ireland. Part number matched, it was a perfect original. Works like a charm.

HTC 10 Battery Replacement by official service

Since the battery situation has reached a point of no return (under 1.5 hours of SOT, random restarts and bootloops under 50%) and since I won't have the opportunity to get a new device for the next year, I would really appreciate it if someone could share his/her experience with battery replacement via the official HTC service.
I can send my device to either UK or DE service points, so any specific experience with those would be ideal. Furthermore, I would really love to know if someone had any issues with sending their devices with an unlocked bootloader, or received them damaged or scratched, as this is the reason why I am still reluctant of sending my device (I have read some horror stories of devices returning scratched or with damaged screens).
Any help would be highly appreciated.

I would much appreciate the same info except that I'm in the US. Same exact battery difficulties. I've already bought a new device but I would love to keep this one operational as a backup if the battery can be replaced without ruining the device. All the DIY videos I've watched look like a nightmare.
Not in EU/US, so my experience might be different from yours (YMMV disclaimer)
Got my 10 in for battery replacement (last week of warranty left), and just got it back.
Don't try to replace the battery yourself, to be honest.
I send my phone in for only a battery exchange, and it came back with a new battery, and a new screen.
It's very likely to damage the ribbon cable while putting the phone back.
What I see from some other forums is, basically if you've had software mod, they won't warrant mainboard damage.
Haven't heard anyone had a damaged phone back from official repair though.
It costs around $40-50 for a battery exchange out of warranty IIRC.

Official HTC repairment center in Taiwan. However in my case my phone is still barely in warranty (a week or less). They covered all cost within warranty. Heard an out of warranty battery exchange is around $40-50.
Also, it seems that they also repair foreign htc phones, although at a additional cost of $35, plus whatever the replacement part costs.
If you're really desperate about your battery and don't want to risk it, maybe pay extra? Just sayin' , and not endorsing anything.
Maybe there's some 3rd party that will exchange 10's battery? Just make sure that they'll also change the screen if they damaged it.
Hey folks,
I live in Europe (France). I bought an OEM battery at a fair price from Ebay (I can find the link if anyone is interested) and had the repair done by a store nearby for ~40 euros (which is not so much considering the time it took them to remove the screen without any damage !).
Since the guys agreed to make the change for the same price, I also took the opportunity to replace the rear case, to a beautiful brand new red housing. Now my 10 seems like it just came out of the box, for less than 100 euros in total. I'm happy !
Exact same battery issues over here, but located in AUS. 3rd party repairer is having major issues locating a battery, so I'm going to try going through HTC. Wish me luck!
I just did replacement by myself with the battery that i bought from aliexpress.so far is the winner when i compare with My brother s 2 Yo Phone.i did HTCbattery test. Mine ended with 92% and his 80%
It's a very hard device to repair honestly. I sent my phone for a battery replacement and they accidentally messed up part of the screen(Im guessing they bent a part in the ribbon cable for the screen). I recommend you send it to HTC themselves or a very experienced shop with good reputation and don't try to do it yourself. I must say it does make a huge difference to have the battery replaced.
When i sent my phone in, it was completely stock afaik (it was unlocked and with a custom rom before); howerever, they installed a different version and relocked the bootloader as stated in the papers you sign. It just came back like it was out of the box except that the bootloader said *Tampered* and *RELOCKED* so they didnt restore the bootloader status.
I've got my HTC U12+ two days ago and when I got my 10 out of the case to swap sim cards I noticed a small bulge on the display (see photo). I guess my battery is a bit bulged or something, so I'd like to get it replaced. How should I go about it? I've already written the HTC support, since there doesn't seem to be a repair address or anything like that on the homepage. I am from Germany, so I could just return the phone to my provider, but they take 2-3 weeks longer to get it repaired...

To give a conclusion to this:
- I wrote the support and got a return label for a local repair shop (3rd party, but authorized by HTC)
- After I sent the device off, I got NO email confirmation that the device arrived, got repaired or got sent back
- Since Hermes is a piece of **** where I live, they never bothered to try to deliver the package.
- By pure luck I was at the Hermes packet pickup store for a different package from Amazon when I learned that I hat not only one, but two packages waiting for me.
- I assume total repair and delivery time was less than a week, but I have no idea how long the package was at the pickup store.
- The battery was replaced, but the glue around the screen was applied quite poorly, but since the device works again I don't really care.
- They didn't touch the OS. Bootloader was unlocked and a custom ROM was installed - no changes after the repair.

I watched a few of those tutorials. Just nope. I'm a bit clumsy by nature, and precision works like that are just a no-no for me. I'd end up having to replace nearly everything, because of accidentally damaged electronic parts.
My HTC 10 is about 1 year old, bought it brand new from aliexpress, so no warranty. Well ... They claim that they give 2 years warranty, but the hurdles that I'd have to go through to send it to them (took 2 months to arrive to me), with no guarantee that I'd get the same phone back when/if they repair it ... Let's just say that it has no warranty.
Luckily, it still has no major issues, apart from an echo problem. Whenever I call someone or someone calls me, whoever is on the other side hears a feedback of his/her own voice for about 30 seconds, then the echo disappears. I hear no echoes, only whoever is on the other side hears it, and only during the first 30 seconds or so of the call. There are no echoes/feedbacks if I turn on the loud speaker or use the earphones. I've been researching about this strange echo issue, and found no solutions. But I digress.
Long story short: I'm too clumsy to attempt a disassembly myself.
Also, it seems that the HTC support here is linked to a company called Regenersis, which I've read very bad reviews about. Since my phone has no warranty, I could search for a third party shop and supply them with the new parts. Although, if it becomes too much of a hassle or if they ask for too much money, I could always buy a new phone.

Just one more question. I've watched this and several other videos repeatedly but there's one thing that's not clear to me. Did you have to use some kind of glue or adhesive tape when reassembling the screen?
In some videos they don't mention it and in another one they uses industrial mp glue (B7000?). I have read a lot about people using tape.
What worked well for you? Are there any pitfalls?
Thanks in advance.

Any battery replacement success stories?

Has anybody personally found a good replacement internal battery that has full, or close to full charge capacity? Before anybody says it, I have replaced phone batteries before and have no issues with the risk and disassembly aspect of replacing the battery. I want to install a new one because my current battery dies so quickly anymore, but everywhere I look I only find ones with terrible user reviews. Can anybody point me in the direction of a better quality option?

No I ended up using the slightly-less-than-terrible verizon trade in offer on an s10. I got the plus because of the 4ah battery specifically although im already remember how much samsung's UI's blow compared to regular android... But if I had gotten one I would probably just get one directly from ifixit after reading some of the user feedback. Seems like they are mostly better received than amazon and ebay options.
I purchased a battery from the below eBay seller.

It's a genuine battery from what I can tell and came in a clear plastic case. It's dated 2019/01/16, so very recent. I'll be installing it tomorrow.

I just installed this same battery yesterday. Been using it all day today. Seems to work just fine so far. But only time will tell.
I just installed mine today. As you pointed out, no real way to know how good until it's had a few cycles under it's belt. Was the HTC logo marked out on your battery?

Logos are marked out to do with customs, in many of countries they do not allow the importation of counterfeit products under copyright law, marking out the company logo bypasses this. Obviously if the actual OEM is selling their own batteries then this does not need to be done.
Any updates on battery life? I am looking to buy from the same seller for my Pixel XL.

How is it holding up? I am looking for OEM quality replacement battery too, half a year is enough to tell whether it is good or not...

Sorry for the late reply.
It was defective, it lasted a week before it would no longer hold a charge. It looked genuine, but I didn't want to deal with a replacement, so I ended up getting a refund, and going with ifixit for a replacement battery instead. I'm guessing I just received a lemon, the seller was solid with the refund.

Expensive at $25, but it's been solid ever since. Holds a charge very well. I purchased the kit, since I can see myself reusing the tools in the future.
It matches the original bloated battery I took out the first time. It seems to be genuine OEM, the HTC logo on the battery is covered up by a black marker which you can remove with alcohol. You can even make it out a bit in their photos.

Thank you for the update!
I guess I will get this one probably, instead of buying the new Pixel 4 XL.. just to see how long it lasts... it still works damn good, and exactly why I chose Google phone over other cheaper contract phones!!
What do you think? any practical reason to get the 4 over a battery upgrade for this one?

Since Google decided to extend support for the OG Pixel/XL with Android 10, they left me little reason to upgrade to 4. They would have to come in at $700 (not going to happen) or less for me to upgrade, or else I'm staying put until next year's 5. There is also the "possible" Pixel 4a/XL to look forward to in 6 months.
I had to buy mine used to replace my OnePlus 5 that had a saltwater accident after 2 years of use. The used eBay pixel XL I bought seemed like it hadn't been used in well over a year based on the software update status. It was also on the beta program so it was probably an enthusiast who bought new and used it a few months and switched to something else throwing it in a drawer. Battery still seems as good as they were new, after months of me using it. Still not as good as the OnePlus 5 and doesn't charge fast but it's still a good phone. Camera is close to as good as anything out there. UI had more lag than the op5 but seems smoother in scrolling and general usage.
Hi,on my pixel XL my USB preferences stopped working and is stuck on charge. After trying different chargers and cables, my phone will only charge using a USB-A to USB-C. When I plug phone into PC, it will only charge, can't change it from charge. I was wondering if someone has had a similar problem. If so, did changing the battery fix this problem or has anyone changed the USB daughter board and that fixed the problem. If anyone knows of a fix for my problem. Thank you.

sounds like either firmware or port to me but someone else may be able to correct me. have you also tried on a different computer? could be the ports on there.

Yes, I have tried on a different computer, did work there either. What it feels like, my USB preferences are not on my pixel XL anymore. Like they got wiped off my phone. Thanks
