So no chance for root in this version?

it's not that there is no chance - just very unlikely.
look at the H990 LG V20 - no offical bootloader unlock, but thanks to dirtysanta - ROOT
if there will be an exploit to use (if somone find any) - there will be an unoffical root.
even if it was the H930 V30 64GB version - israel would still have an locked bootloader - so the unoffical bootloader unlock is the best thing we can hope for

Included earphones
Hey
update on the earphones that are included with the LG V30+ in israel.
they WILL NOT have the b&o earphones - just some generic LG ones
they said that they didn't want to pay for the licence - that would raise the final price of the device up
wtf

That's ridiculous

Thanks for the info.
I'm also from Israel and I was waiting to get any news about the arrival of the phone.
The only deal-breaker for me, unfortunately, is the locked bootloader... since I'm normally modifying the phone's software pretty heavily, Including the flashing of V4A, Dolby Atmos, modified governors and more.
It's Really frustrating considering this is the phone that has it all.

first of all - if you have any more questions about the phone release in israel - feel free to ask, i think i've covered everything, but if i missed somthing - please feel free to ask.
about the root - yes, as a guy who roots every device he has, i feel your pain. the LG V20 that is sold in israel for example - has root! (dirtysanta - h990). if you dont mind buying a last year phone, it's really good (and only costs 415€ with offical warranty)
mabey someday (even tought it's quiet unlikely) the XDA dev's will find an exploit that will give us root privileges, but till then, it's going to stay a "rootless phone"

Only the Italian H930G is bootloader unlockable, according to the LG developer page.
EDIT: LG changed it, it now mentions all H930G models in the European market

Correct. only the Italian H930G is supported for now.
it's worth mentioning that the Israel variants never did get an offical bootloader unlock from LG.
mabey if enough people will ask them to give the H930G israel variant the bootloader unlock - they will do it. mabey.
also - an update about the launch price
at launch, the LG V30+ H930G will cost 795€ in israel. the buyers from the Group buying will be able to purchase it at a discount - for 720€. it is still unknown if there will be a gift pack (like in the group buying) once the phone starts shipping and beign sold here in israel - on Dec 5.

no unlocked bootloader for the Israel H930G
"Unfortunately, your device(Israel, (ISRAEL) )does not support unlocking the bootloader."

Same for h930g turkey variant But, unfortunately they did not explain thia clearly on supported devices. It seems all h930Gs can have unlocked bootloader. It can be worth to send mail them.

Let's ask LG devs on mobile.developer.lge.com forum

@Orof , is the bootloader still locked? According to LG's website the H930G should be unlockable...
Edit: Apparently it doesn't matter, thanks to the recently discovered exploit. Now I can buy a V30+ w/ peace of mind!

BUT using the "wtf" methood, you CAN unlock the bootloader and install custom recovery and os

Sorry I posted it there because I originally thought it was a European version and tried to unlock it. When I went to the LG page it could not find my suffix? So i came back to where people were talking about unlocking the different versions and asked what version I had.

No carrier bloat at all
I believe he just has a normal, "locked up tight", H815 model. Just because it was won does not mean it is any different than the normal H815 that I own which cannot be unlocked either. There are different models for different countries and you need to look for the country code to determine if it's the EU variant, which it looks like it is not as it would have been sold in that area anyways. I think you just have the standard H815 like many of us do, and it's NOT unlockable, which is why you are getting that message at LG dev.

LG G4 future forecast of custom ROMs

Is there a future forecast for custom ROM support for the LG G4. I'm thinking about buying the G4, but I'm not sure. The custom ROM community for the G3 is great. Do you guys think that in about a year or so the G4 custom ROM community is also very active?
Only few variants of G4 got bootloader unlocked for now. The rest are having to stay with stock ROMs. If you want to customize your phone consider buying a G4 variant that can get bootloader unlocked. Or get a Nexus
Yeap same here im also g3 user but now g4 with locked bootloader in g3 i flash every roms

how about locked bootloader for 70% of the variants and loosing warranty for the other 30%.
i never unlocked my bootloader on S3/Note1/4 but i could install ROMS even with the less open Exynos phones has better support that this locked down, horrible DPI, fantastic camera, average battery G4. of course this is my mistake for trying out a LG phone, should have waited a month and got the Note 5 or simply went with S6 Edge.
I don't think it's a mistake to have chosen a LG phone. In my opinion, it's a very good phone with two issues: two high resolution (no one needs a higher resolution on a 5,5 inch phone than Full HD in my opinion) and therefore a weak battery...but besides, I think it's great. And hey, CM exists though and that's just not that bad at all.
How can I be sure that the bought - or yet to buy - LG G4 is bootloader unlocked? I'm thinking about buying the G4 at a web-shop in the Netherlands. I contacted the technical department of the web-shop and they told be that most of the models are bootloader unlocked. But they gave no guaranty. They said it is impossible to look at the model number beforehand.
Is there a site available where you can check the model number if it is bootloader unlocked or not.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks my man. I did see you're recommendations, but thing the is that the phone's mentioned by you are far more expensive compared to the G4. There is a offer where you can buy the phone for € 359,- and you get a voucher worth of € 75,- that you can use at the bigger warehouses here in the Netherlands. So that's kind of a no-brainer compared to the purchase price of the Note 5 or Nexus 6p.
The only thing that's keeping me worried is the custom ROM community. Some people mentioned that if the bootloader is unlocked you're free to flash custom ROMs. But how interested is it for programmers to invest there time in the G4?
i dont know what a voucher is lol and googled it got nothing
anyway the boot-loader thing is really annoying and LG is giving no promises about it so its not promising to get an unlockabale version
i have h815p and whatever customization I do on stock it can never be compared to custom kernel and rom
so you must be sure of the model you buy to be unlock able
Good luck

They have to let all the carriers fleece the customers first.
That means it probably won't be put on the LG Developer Bootloader Unlock list until well into December, maybe end of December?
http://developer.lge.com/resource/mobile/RetrieveBootloader.dev?categoryId=CTULRS0703
I've posted that link several times. They won't add the LG V30 to that list until after the carrier unlocked versions are released. With the LG G6, was six weeks after the North America carrier unlocked version US997 was released. (May 12-June 29). But right after that, BOOM. Root, TWRP, ROMs.
What a load of crap! Then LG wonders why their mobile department is constantly hemorrhaging money. Lets announce a phone in August and not let people buy it until basically December! Its genius, by the time people can buy it other companies will be announcing their new phone and will overshadow our current offerings, how can it fail?
Figures I leave the country on the 29th. I pray that changes. Love the phone but I have to have an unlocked version
I do hope that the date is just a CYA and it's available sooner. Still, that amount would be the most I've ever paid for a phone and I'm tempted to wait until a sale. Interesting that this date is past both Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Dang. End of November? I may buy an essential to play around with until then. That's not unlocked boot loader yet though. ?
Seems like its December 5th now. Oct 27th to Nov 28th to December 5th RIP. Guess I'm getting an H933, already was phoneless for 2 months waiting for this after my V10 broke.

As long as you make sure on Swappa it's the "right" US998 (NOT U.S.Cellular).
FYI: When the LG G6 official carrier unlocked US997 came our, Amazon was selling it for $50 less than B&H.
So, if it's December 5th, I wonder when the official bootloader unlock will come.

LG releases flagship variants for the "open market", a.k.a. official carrier unlocked versions (SIM card unlocked) which are not sold by carriers and have most all the bands of the carriers.
Furthermore, these open market phones are then placed of the bootloader unlock eligibility list on the LG Developer website. You can request a code to unlock the bootloader of those phones.
There's usually a delay of several weeks between release of the carrier models and the official carrier unlocked versions, to let the carriers fleece their customers. Then there's an additional delay of several weeks before these "open market" models added to the LG bootloader unlock list. No one knows why.
For the V30, will be the US998 (North America) and the H930 (Europe). Yes, U.S.Cellular also sells a US998, but not their model. The one not sold by them.
Is that what you're asking?
Or are you asking if the firmware from those phones can be flashed over a carrier-branded LG V30?

Verizon model is not mtk. It's Qualcomm. You can't flash different firmware. If you can get the msl number you can change bands, but the device doesn't have all bands.
You need either root (not possible on Verizon, locked bootloader) or your msl number from the phones original carrier. That's why no one has answered.
Not likely any viable solution for you

None of Qualcomm Device is compatible with 4G LTE in Pakistan, as Band 3/1800 hardware is not available in this variant, All Pakistan LTEs are Band 3/1800

Bootloader unlock is not the same as carrier unlock. You have already been told, it's a dead issue.

Any hardware variations that matter among them? Or it is just a way of tracking where the phone came from?

No, actually there are different LTE bands available per region. The difference is less significative than, for instance, on 1+7, but they're still there (and the reason why I need to get the NA version, in my case).
Looking to buy the China version for 256GB, what bands would I be missing VS the USA 1905? Im using t-mobile usa

Don't do it... the Chinese variant is missing B66/AWS3 which is in use by all US carriers. Read my other post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80892995&postcount=8

So did having read that, if there is a 256GB EU version, get that as it has the B66, according to the Connectivity section: Bands (EU) FDD-LTE:B1,2,3,4,5,7,8,12,13,17,18,19,20,25,26,28,29,32,66
but I don't think they did
No 256gb variant that was released has band 66.

Appreciate this insight man!!
I'm in the US, NYC/NJ. I was super torn. I wanted to upgrade my op5. I wasn't a big fan of the pop up camera or the curved edges of the 7 Pro...plus I wanted a T.
The MacLaren edition is really nice, but...popup camera and like 400 more than the Chinese 7T. I couldn't justify it. So I took a chance and ordered the HD1900 Chinese version of the 7T with 265gb. So far, after about two weeks, it's excellent. I have no issues with not having a fast connection

No issues with not having a connection. Maybe it's because I'm in an area with good coverage (t-mobile). But so far, for $500 - HD1900 has been excellent.
I'm just waiting for twrp so I can root the thing.

You don't need TWRP to root it: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7t/how-to/guide-how-to-root-oneplus-7t-twrp-t3979307/page56

Got the 7T rooted...no problems. Not used to doing it without TWRP, but it all worked fine. Magisk, root all working flawlessly. For 500, the 256gb hd1900 has been excellent. I know it didn't have band 66 (or something) but in NYC and Quebec I haven't noticed any problems. I'm coming from an OP5 and mobile connectivity is at least as good with the OP7T HD1900.
For me, the decision came down to value. I wanted the 256gb, which ruled out the US OP7T. The OP7 Pro is nice and I came close to choosing it but I don't like the curved screen edges and I'm not a fan of the pop up camera. The notch doesn't bother me. So, no 7T pro either. The t-mobile McLaren edition was tempting...12gb ram, 5g. But at almost twice the price...not worth it. So far very happy with the hd1900 in the US with the 256gb.
Once I got it rooted, of course.
