Maximum Exposure? - Google Pixel 2 XL Questions & Answers

What is the maximum exposure available in the manual mode? Can anyone check on this in the apps like Manual Camera or ProShot?

[Q] Improving Camera quality?

I want to know is there any way to improve camera detail in pictures of this phone?
When I zoom just a little bit, there is already noise visible, this must not be this way.
You shouldn't even use digital zoom on any phone in my opinion...
Don't use superior auto (manual mode has higher resolution available, superior auto has just 8mp) or install 20MP Superior Auto Xposed mod, I use this and it significantly improved quality of my photos.
If you use ISO <= 200 (manual mode only), there is about 50% less noise, on any resolution. Of course, this is not really possible for night shots.

Am I using the camera wrong? If so how do I use it correctly?

OK, I've been playing around with the camera in manual mode. And I've been having a problem. We all know how good the long exposure works while using the 30 second exposure shutter. But my problem is using the 1/6000 it seems you need an INSANE!!!!!! amount of light. Today is completely sunny outside so I took the pictures below. One with the shutter at 1/6000 with iso set at 50 and then the other at 1/6000 with the iso at 800 to be able to achieve what it "SHOULD LOOK LIKE BRIGHTNESS WISE" and as you might guess having the ISO set that high causes a lot of noise in the picture. I'd just like to take pictures of my kids as they're running around the yard without them looking like a garbled blur. But I lose all light if I put it on 1/6000 and I lose a lot of detail if I put the ISO up high enough. It also doesn't help that the exposure for some reason automatically locks when I change the shutter or iso. It's been years since I've used a DSLR "the original digital canon regel eos the first entry level DSLR" but I don't remember having these problems. Any ideas guys?

Nexus 5x app for increase shutter speed time

Hi,
I can't understand why only LCamera v0.3 can permit us to increase the shutter speed time (normally is 1/5, with this app we can set up to 1/1,2)
I test it (only 0.3 can do it) and the feature function well.
Other camera apps (fv5, proshot, manual camera,...) doesn't implement it, why?
Thanks

The question has already been asked and talked about at this link.

In the thread of the link I don't find my question (and the relative response) then this thread is licit
From the L Camera GitHub page.
https://github.com/PkmX/lcamera/blob/master/README.md
"Bulb mode: Keep capturing DNG images until manually stopped. Note that as the Nexus 5's internal memory writing speed cannot keep up with the rate the camera pushes out new images even at the slowest shutter speed, the camera waits until the previous image is saved before starting a new capture to avoid filling the buffers."
So it's not truly a long open shutter. It's successive captures. At least that's how I interpret the statement.

LCamera 0.3 doesn't have the Bulb mode
I can set the exposure time 1/1,2 and iso 40 and the exif infos give me the real values of 1s and iso 60 and the dark images are spectacular.
I hope that some developer can implement this incredible feature (for n5x) on other app (like fv5, proshot) because Lcamera 0.3 is only a beta

HDR ON or HDR+?

Hey guys, wich one mode use For taking photos? HDR+ should be better on results, but I dont see any diference with the HDR ON.. The opossite.. The file of HDR+ its like 4MB and on HDR ON like 8MB..and Picture quality the same..
great question.. i use HDR+ enhanced by default
Did you noticed any better diference? Just in dark room i can notice little bit. .
HDR+ enhanced forces the maximum number of exposure samples to be applied to the final composition as regular HDR+ determines on its own how many exposures are needed.
I read somewhere that the maximum number of exposures is 12, which will be forced with "enhanced". With "enhanced" you usually get better results, especially in low light conditions and in general dynamic range and noise reduction, but you loose the Zero Shutter Lag feature since the composition takes a while to compute compared to regular HDR+ where the auto mode starts capturing in the background already before taking the shot.
The file size differs so much since, I believe, more pixel information will be captured with "enhanced", making images captured in this mode more attractive and "compatible" for post processing work.
I usually go for AUTO MODE, but sometimes switch to enhanced to see if the final outcome in a specific scene and moment comes out better on that mode as well.
I do the same like you...on other phones i had, with ported Gcam the HDR+ had Amazing results comparing with the HDR ON.. But on My pixel i dont see that diference exceot the file size and sometimes in some very low Light conditions..

Camera Photo/Video App - Maximum ISO

Does anybody know of any camera app or method that would allow setting a maximum ISO let's say 1600, so that the ISO is still dynamic (50-1600) based on the scene but never go over 1600 or whatever set value? This way in both video and photo it would never get to 3200 or whatever the max is and become too noisy. I've looked into a lot of 3rd party apps including FilmicPro and none seem to offer such functionality.
