[Request] Remove "Unable to check your device software update" screen - Xiaomi Mi A1 Themes, Apps, and Mods

As we unlocked bootloader, the annoying screen stated that our device status currently unlocked is appeared. Hoping someone can get rid of the screen. thanks!

+1...this is annoying
Sent from my Mi A1 using Tapatalk

I can agree that it doesn't look nice, but how often do you reboot your phone for that screen to be relevant? It's a 5 second screen once during boot, hardly worth the effort, IMHO.

I don't think we can do that. i used to own a nexus 6p and there was never a way to get rid of that annoying unlocked bootloader screen.

Well i used OP3 before and someone tried and succeed to remove the unlocked bootloader screen. It just an idea. Who knows. ?

To Unlock or not to Unlock. That is the question

Guys i am torn. One minute i want to unlock through HTC dev website but on the other hand i want to wait for the S-OFF exploit. Not just that, wondering if i unlock will i still be able to get OTA updates still? I know i will do from what i read but few more confirmations would probably ease my mind.
Had a year my galaxy s2 and was lucky enough that the s2 was already unlocked. Not a stranger to rooting but coming over to the HTC One x and reading on instructions on how to root kinda gets me worried.
What do you think guys? Development i am sure will be picking up but do you think it is worth to unlock through the dev site and if so why please.
Many thanks.
The OneX is really easy to root and the nvidia tegra tweak is well worth it
The One X honestly isn't that hard to root.
Just need to unlock the bootloader - then install recovery and then obviously flash a rooted ROM.
Great instructions from bagofcrap24 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1592355
The best thing for me after rooting was getting rid of the three dot menu button that takes up screen space on some apps. Using LeeDroid's ROM, I now have the Recent Apps button mapped to Menu and long pressing Home mapped to Recent Apps.

i know mate...it is really a question of when to do it...i mean i do not get as to why they do not come unlocked already though...what is the big deal of them locking the bootloader..that is one of the things that made me go for the s2 over the sensation. cause it was so easy to root through odin. might do it today and unlock and root

see that is the problem that is holding me back Foggy mate. some people say it does not void your warranty some say it does. The actual website says it does void your warranty...Kinda confusing if you ask me. I mean i had my s2 for a whole year before i sold it and it never died on me. But i am really not willing to take the risk with the HOX just yet.

To be fair it says
"It is our responsibility to caution you that not all claims resulting or caused by or from the unlocking of the bootloader may be covered under warranty."
I think there's def the emphasis on "resulting or caused by or from the unlocking of the bootloader"
So if yo have a warranty issue that isn't affected by unlocking the bootloader you should be fine.

And who will decide if your problem comes or doesn't come from unlocking and doing stuff on it?
Thats my point, it's just to easy for a repair center to say "yup that is possibly caused by unlocking and moddifying your device".
It voids your warranty if they decide to do so, if they even slightly suspect the unlock/modding has anything to do with the failure.
It's your word against theirs...
Like I said, not in a hurry, the Devs will get it unlocked anyway, just a matter of time, and that way I don't have to worry about warranty.

spot on with that mate. hence why i opened this thread cause you do not know what might be said hence why this is the only bad thing about the HOX that it does not come with an unlock bootloader
anyone had any news on how far through they are with unlocking the bootloader. I really want to get the battery fix installed but am also a little weary about the warranty thing. I got a feeling that if they know your bootloaders been unlocked theyll end up blaming that for the failure even if it wasnt due to it. Saying that my other tab has the htcdev site open so im currently back and fore about using the htcdev site.

Kinda understand why they want to lock it, and offer an unlock with certain warranty issues..
They need to cover themselves ofcourse, otherwise everyone with a bricked device (due to their own fault mostly) is sending back their device for a free repair
I'm happy they left backdoors (official and possible non-official) to unlock the bootloader, think if they want they could have just closed up everything to have it never unlocked again

If you can use your device without any major issues i'dd wait a bit. The device is only 2 weeks out and i'm sure ppl are on to it, we need to give them some time, no need to rush things.

I really want to root so I can lock Sense in memory but I am going to hold off until the screen banding issue is resolved. I am confident it will be fixed by an OTA but if it isn't I don't want to create any excuse not to honour the warranty.

Guys, if you think your device so far got no hardware issues, It's time to unlock. Getting rid of the annoying menu button alone is a big reason enough to unlock.
Been switching ROMs already for a couple of days and it's fun, the excitement is high lol. Anyway, there is still no custom kernels yet for overclocking so you don't need to worry of frying your CPU. Customization and theming won't hurt your hardware.
So there, go for it, UNLOCK!
Btw, don't flame for my advice lol.

I see your predicament! it is a tough one.
Would love to see AOKP as well. Watched an interview with Roman tho and he didnt seem too interested in the One x for some reason and said there were no current plans to develop for it. Although, even if they dont support the One X officially, it will hopefully get ported at some point.

well we could only hope..i will be honest i kinda have a slight regret selling my s2 as the development for that handset is smoking hot at the moment. but regarding my HOX i am kinda itching to unlock but on the other hand voices tell me to wait for a few more days..i know development will be huge for this phone as it is the flagship. but there are few niggly things that are starting to annoy me and that might push me towards unlocking through HTC dev site
i mean stock as it is at the moment i am more than happy with..but like any phone this has some minor issues but hoping that the update we are waiting for will sort this for me

5.1.1 ota rollout

Just received the 5.1.1 OTA. look at the kernel build date. this thing was cooked up YESTERDAY. device feels a lot snappier!! This is the T-Mobile branded one.
http://pasteboard.co/5Mu7cnk.jpg
NO, the bootloader is not locked with the 5.1.1 update that was leaked.
Rather, "Factory Reset Protection" (an Android thing - not a Samsung thing!) is now an option, which allows you to lock the bootloader yourself, protecting your device from someone installing a custom recovery, wiping your device and making it their own. It makes the device somewhat less valuable, and therefore (supposedly) less likely to be stolen.

Tmobile. sorry
Okay guys so many people called me fake and I don't blame you..having 5.1.1 even when nexus devices don't have it is kinda suspicious but I need to clarify some things.. New boot loader is not locked like Verizon/ATT phones It's FRP, Factory Reset Protection. This is google's response to Icloud for stolen/lost devices.. I tried to flash twrp and cfroot and freaked out when i got the error about bootloader being locked...Now this doesn't mean Samsung/Tmobile will completely lock bootloaders in the future but we have to wait and see... phone seems to be really smooth and stable , however it looks like the camera needs some work done so I'm 100% this is not the final build and I guess I'm just lucky I got it this morning and be happy that Samsung has a build this stable with 5.1.1 which means official releases are not far.

how is the night clock issue..?
Would you be able to check if the Auto-Brightness setting is fixed (check to see if it stays on Auto-Brightness), and if the Night clock is only lighting up necessary pixels on the AMOLED display? I can't wait for the rollout to hit my T-Mobile Edge! I'm hoping they improved the battery life some more too, it definitely doesn't last long enough.
If this is a prank, I will find you, and I will kill you. Lol
Omg. How does it feel? Battery life, smoothness?
strange that T-Mobile is faster than European Samsung unbranded..no update ATM.. ?
Nice! Hopefully the full file will show up soon so that those of us that are rooted can update.

How to bypass unlocked bootloader 30 second wait on the bootup screen?

Seriously, google. Is it really necessary to make us wait 30 seconds if we have an unlocked bootloader?
How do I stop this nonsense without locking the bootloader again?
sorry but you cant.....
what i dont understand is why it needs to beep in such a high pitch sound each time.....
Yea it's pretty annoying, it's a Chromebook thing. My HP Pavilion would do it too but at least you could speed it up and continue by pressing spacebar, Cheep5k8 said that we could drop it down to 2 seconds BUT you have to remove the screen and flip the dev switch in order to do so.
Sent from my Pixel C using Tapatalk
bummer. the tablet boots super fast otherwise.
if only i were a jedi. i'd flip that switch by force.
Still the same answer to this question?
On older devices I know folks smarter than me figured out a way to remove it. I no longer remember those methods.

Scares the **** out of our dogs. They go and hide if I forget to cover the speakers each reboot!
WTH, I swear to dog I just went around and replaced all the damned batteries in the smoke detectors in the house because of that chirp. It's been driving me nuts!
It's a sad statement that I was hearing it so often at random times, just shows how unstable it is [emoji53]
There must be some hack to avoid this by replacing bootloader or some other partition, doesn't it?
Is there still no solution to the dreaded 30 second delay and beep? It's the only thing preventing this tablet from being 100% awesome with LineageOS.
It's annoying but as I only reset about once a month when a new update comes out I can live with it.
Not tested at the moment, but I was wondering...
If it's that annonying (and I find it too) it should be possible to relock the bootloader while keeping root. Of course, it implies that when you will need to unlock it again, it will wipe your device (no problem if like me, you install each rom from scratch)

If I recall correctly, this bricks the device. May be wrong though, would not recommend at all regardless.
Oh sorry, forgot to give my feedback here. I tested relocking the bootloader : unfortunately it wipes your tablet. So at the moment you cannot disable the 30s wait while keeping root and/or unlocked bootloader

What if you're not bothered about losing root? I flashed PixelExperience/Pie 9.0 by followmsi, which is great. All I wanted is pie, I'm not bothered about root. If I re-lock the bootloader, I don't mind losing root or wiping the device; I'm just worried it will brick the tablet! Anyone know what may happen?

Verizon Pixel Updated to NMF26U - Re-Lock Bootloader or No?

So I got a Verizon Pixel XL NDE63P and unlocked the bootloader. I then updated to NMF26U (Stock Image). If I lock the bootloader will it get stuck since it isn't a verizon Image? or will it be ok since it is a Pixel stock image? I'm trying to get rid of the ugly corruption message.
message will always be there. Do not relock the bootloader my friend.
Alright thanks.
Quite a few people here that tried it and now have completely bricked phones.
I'll just leave it alone then....
This may sound strange but if it really bothers you then you could see if someone on here with a locked vzw device is interested in a swap. It would require some trust but could be mutually beneficial.

There is absolutely no difference between the software you have and the software that's on a google bought pixel. They have been releasing the same exact build for both devices. There is no difference between the two. However if you ever lock your bootloader you will never be able to unlock again.

Don't mess with it.
One day we may have the ability to alter this screen. But people aren't working on that since it's so minor.
The Pixel XL shows that screen for less than 10 seconds. The Pixel C is over 30 seconds. I can live with 10 seconds.

Oh yeah, I know how to resolve that. Connect the device using a USB cable to your PC. Make sure the phone is off. Then hold all buttons on your phone until you get a blue warning screen. From here, follow the on-screen instructions to unlock the bootloader. From THEN, the lock is fully disabled.
