Variant of Z2 force can be BL unlocked and use international? - Moto Z2 Force Questions & Answers

Variation of Moto Z2 Force for US Telco or countries
(Verizon) XT1789-01
(US Cellular) XT1789-02
(Sprint) XT1789-03
(AT&T/T-Mobile) XT1789-04
(Outside US) XT1789-05
(For Brazil) XT1789-07
Maybe this thread can be helpful for some...
Which are the models which the bootloader can be unlocked and use globally (outside of US)?

Please add EU unbranded XT1789-06
(I think this is the "real" Outside US, while XT1789-05 should be Chinese version, as it was on Griffin...)

Generally by Default Verizon Devices are Global, and in this case fot the XT-1789-01 You can place another carriers sim in the device and it will just work (as long as the bands are supported)

Historically, US Cellular phones have been able to run on Verizon LTE bands and have had their bootloader be unlock able. Can anyone confirm?

Verizon are global unlocked but not able to accept unbranded rom so not really global.

XT1789-06, uk edition, retus, single sim

i was just at Verizon, the OEM unlockiny tool is there on the z2 force . So Unlocking bootloader is perhaps possible.

Verizon and AT&T models are blocked on Motorola/Lenovo's unlock site by the unique identifier. Some parts of it that get decoded from the key your phone spits out has info for Moto to know which exact device is requesting the unlock code.

If you owned an exclusivity device, aka the Droid series, of course you couldn't unlock the bootloader from Motorola site itself. you had to use s-off. I do not know if they updated their builld to support 2017 phones

Check for model number.
All models begin with the ID prefix XT1635
-01 is the Verizon Bootloader Locked Variant
-02 is the Internat. GSM Unlocked Variant
-03 is the Chinese retcn variant
-02/-03 both have unlocked bootloaders; however, on -03 you will not receive OTAs (at least as what I've heard).
If you do purchase an -03, definitely flash a custom ROM. There's a thread detailing how to enable basebands on all models- I'd check it out if you're anywhere but China as the -03 variant is missing a ton of bands for use in the US (or Europe, for that matter).

Bootloader Unlock on Dual Sim variants

Hi all,
I am contemplating purchasing a G7 because it ticks all the right boxes but I need dual sim limiting me to the EMW & EAW variants. Given the track record of the G6, is there any chance I will be able to unlock the bootloader in the future?
We should create and sign a petition to LG for all variants to be bootloader unlocked, otherwise LG would be on par with Samsung in sales. I'm ordering an US unlocked variant (G710ULM) to India. We know the launch date was 11th July 2018 in USA, but to present, no sign of bootloader unlock except EU variants .
Only europe version is unlocked for now...
Havent seen an international version on the recent phones that have been unlocked...

Does anyone know if someone is working on a bootloader unlock/root for other models?

I know the EM can be rooted, but is someone working on a bootloader unlock for the other G7 models?
I got in touch with TMobile to see if their version would be bootloader unlockable. They gave me the run around, told me to contact LG who hasn't responded. One thing I did manage to get out of TMobile was a firm denial that they requested the device remain locked its likely apathy on the part of LG holding us back at this point. ?I haven't dug into mine yet because I have more interesting unlocked devices to work on
Giving that the only European models can be unlocked most likely not but maybe a bug in the future.
Have saw a AWM model which flash to EM model and get its bootloader unlocked on a second hand trading website in China. The seller said he flash the EM firmware and change the IMEI in order to unlock his phone "officially"
I'm eagerly waiting for the US unlocked G710ULM. If this variant is unlocked, why didn't LG unlocked bootloader?, it's been almost 4 months of no news from LG. .Why giving special status to unlocked European models , since LG V30? If that's the case then LG G6 US997 could be the last US model enjoying root?
someone have found a way to root g7 hong kong variant yesterday on bbs forum

The difference between the variants? XT1710-01

I can't seem to find which XT1710 variant is going to be the US unlocked version that supports all major carriers in the US. I believe it is the XT1710-01, Verizon is XT1710-02, International GSM is XT1710-06. Is this correct? I am wanting to buy a Z2 Play but I want the unlocked USA version that I can use with Verizon but also have unlockable bootloader ( so not the XT1710-02 ), so I'm thinking XT1710-01 is the one I want. Thanks

You are correct. I have that same model. You have to be careful altering it from stock though. I lost my IMEI and have been unable to get it back. I wish I could tell you how to avoid my mistake.

Are all g9600/g9650 bootloader unlocked?

I recently saw an item g9650 in the description it said:
"This is a south america version samsung s9+ 64Gb SINGLE SIM with locked bootloader. Note here again this is single sim version, and the bootloader is NOT UNLOCKABLE. This will work only on ATT and TMOBILE"
Does this mean that only DS models are bootloader unlocked?

yes. the only S9s that have locked bootloaders are the USA variants. I do believe tho that the 9650s are GSM only tho despite having the snapdragon processor
