Buying One plus 5T in the US to use it also with a European Sim Card in Europe - OnePlus 5T Questions & Answers

Does anyone know if a One Plus 5T cell-phone bought in the US can also be used in Europe with a European SIM card? I know some phones have issues if you use them in different countries from where you bought them. Is One Plus 5T one of those phones? Thanks in advance!

I don't have a 5T (yet) and have some similar questions about using the dual SIM, but I've done enough research on the various bands supported and available to be very confident that this will not be a problem. I know that my old Nexus 5 worked just fine for me in Italy a few years ago, and in general most unlocked GSM phones bought in the U.S. will work in Europe and vice versa.

There is only one model, so it will work without a probleem.

I loved Cyprus -- when I was a kid toured around on a motorcycle. Anyway, there are different phones for different markets. The US t-mo phone will (of course) do data on t-mo but also, will work on at&t. It will also work on the more universal 2100 3G frequency for Europe and Asia.
If you buy the typical Euro phone, it does not have the 3G frequencies which work in the USA. On the other hand, any of the phones should connect w/o issue for text and voice.
Make sure, if he's buying on line, he does not get a version designed for some of the Arab language markets which do not have market.

[Q] Dual Sim Variant

Hi All,
I was just looking for some assistance as I am interested in the dual sim variant of the HTC one M8.
I have been searching the web and can see that it is stated to have been launched. I have also noticed there are 2 threads here relating to rooting it.
The 2 questions I have are:
1 - Where can I buy one from?
2 - Would it be better to get the Chinese or European version to works properly in Australia.
I have also seen that there is another Dual Sim variant to be released next month that is marked as LTE-A. Is there any reason to wait for this variant or with mobile services in Australia I will not see any benefit.
Thank you all for your assistance and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Hi! I bought it from microspot.ch
I don't know which frequencies you are using in Australia but the advantage of the European version is the non-existing Chinese apps
Compare the stated frequency support to what your carrier uses in the lists linked below.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks#Oceania
Thanks all.
Have you been able to root the Chinese one and remove the non existent apps?
So... It seems no real advantage between the Chinese and European version.
Does anyone know any details about the LTE-A Dual Sim coming soon?

I got in contact with microspot.ch and they will not deliver outside of Switzerland. Also, I do not think they have any stock.
Are there any tricks to get deliveries outside of the EU or does anyone know of any other places to try?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Buying HTC One M8 from Aliexpress, question about model.

Hey guys,
Has anyone here bought or had anything to do with Aliexpress? I want to buy an HTC One M8 my self, but I come across different models, which are usually 16/32GB EU and 16/32GB US version. for example: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Unlo...G-WIFI-Quad-Core-5-0-Dual-4MP/1993568822.html
Does anyone know what is the difference between them? Could I still use the US version in Europe? US version is cheaper and has more space (16GBvs32GB).
And if anybody bought from there, what is your experience, was everything okay?
Thanks in advance
useful
Yeah, I want to know too, as prices are significantly lower than ebay, like 20% off
did anyone bought from there?

Read through the feedback, though stars are high. Couple of them are trying to change the faulty devices they received (which is gonna take lot of time). Also, there could be problem with the antenna not working for US LTE bands. By the way, US CDMA (Verizon/Sprint) won't work on this. Also, if it comes with SIM locked version, you will have to do all the research and work (saw recently in M8 forum). Maybe contact the seller and know product ID, network bands etc

Xperia 1ii Variants and Regions

Hi all
I've used this website for years off and on but always reading, never commenting (so far as I can rememeber) and I thought this would be the best place to ask a question.
I am going to purchase this phone as it's been a long while since I last bought one (still using the Z5 Premium Dual) and I need to upgrade. I bought my current Z5 from a UK website that specialised in importing HK phones (but they are no longer trading). I have to say I think it's the first Sony release where I believe that they have addressed most of the issues of anything released after mine, and seem to have got it more or less right, plus made advancements in it's features (Photo Pro, Cinema Pro, etc).
But having a dual sim phone for all these years, I really want to buy the dual sim variant, the only problem is I cannot find enough concrete information to establish which variant is the model I need to buy and then, where from?
So far I've looked at all the US retailers and it's not plain to see as some advertise it as dual sim when its single sim hybrid. I've spoken to both Sony in th UK and US and advice is limited as they only really know about their own products. (Also, the US version(s) apparently do not support 5G and I'm not sure if that means their 5G, or that it would work when here straight out of the box or would require flashing. I don't want to spend that kind of money trying to see).
The Japanese versions are different still as they have their own model numbers depending on the carriers or retailers (I think from research) so I've looked at the Hong Kong site and the only version that they seem to sell directly is the single sim hybrid version which is the same as Europe.
Can anyone here please provide any further details of which model is the dual sim plus SD card version (if there is in fact one) and a link to where they found out.
The versions I know (from xperiablog.net) are:
- XQ-AT51 (I believe think is the single sim hydrid version)
- XQ-AT52 (I think this may be a dual sim plus SD card model but not sure)
- XQ-AT72 (I think this may be a dual sim plus SD card model but not sure)
- SO-51A (NTT docomo – Japanese carrier)
- SOG01 (au by KDDI – Japanese carrier)
The difference between the 52 and 72 variants may simply be the name for different regions but I'm sure that one is classed as the dual sim global version, which would be the version to go for. It would be grat to know the differences too.
If anyone can help with the any of the above, I would be extreme;y grateful.
There is also the time element as if I can't get the dual sim for any reason, I'll have to go purchase here and then I might as well take advantage of the pre-order offer of the free headphones.
Many thanks.
D
Confirmed XQ-AT52 is a dual-sim version in Taiwan.
I think most people are importing to the UK from wandamobile:
https://www.wondamobile.com/
They ship from HK so you will get the HK/Taiwan dual sim model (XQ-AT52)
I have listed support 4G and 5G Carrier Aggregation and Dual Connectivity (ENDC) combinations of Global XG-AT51 model: https://cacombos.com/device?model=XQ-AT51
may the XQ-AT72 is the Dual Sim version with 256Gb storage

That's the XQ-AT52. The 128 GB storage versions are the Japanese ones starting SO.
Maybe the XQ-AT72 is the Xperia Pro?

Is it possible to use the G981U1 in England?

Hello, I am looking to purchase a Samsung S20 5G for use in the UK. I know that the G981B version with the Exynos chip in it is the one that is normally used in the UK. I've been having a hard time finding any of them for sale. The ones I have found are either in very poor condition, or won't ship to the US, or to a parcel forwarding service, or whatever. I do own a factory unlocked G981U1, which is the Snapdragon chip, and is built for the US. I've heard that it can be "used" abroad, but how well, I don't know. Would it work for an extended stay of 18 months using a SIM from one of the local carriers? Would it have issues with not supporting all the bands it should? Just curious because several years ago I purchased an S7 Duos, an international version, and used it in the US. It never seemed to work as well as the ones built specifically for the US. I am just wondering if it would be the same thing using a US phone in the UK?
