Re-enabling QuickCharge 3.0 support? - Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe Questions & Answers

Hi.
As you may know, ASUS (following the Samsung Note debacle) locked the fast charge capability of the Zenfone 3 Deluxe/Ultra to the included QC2.0-spec OEM charger with one of the updates (I think it was the Android 6->7 upgrade update).
This leaves users not only unable to use any power banks, car chargers or 3rd party chargers to fast charge, but basically robbed users of ANY QC3.0 support (which the phone was advertised as being capable of). Even other ASUS QC-chargers (be they QC2.0 or 3.0, tried the Zenfone 2 charger unsuccessfully) don't enable fast charge, making it impossible to have another fast charger eg at work.
I thus have two questions:
Could QuickCharge be re-enabled somehow (eg. by rooting+app, custom ROM, or other means)? Would reverting to Android 6 do the trick, and if yes can this be done easily?
Thanks in advance.

Find 7, charging and charger?

so we all know the phone will have a new super fast charging tech... the questions are
1. will it then requires special charger kit?
2. can it be charged using other devices charger?
3. what about USB charging, will it also get 'supercharged'? if so will it requires special USB port? if not then will it be like normal USB charging on other phones or what?
4. does the new charging tech have any weakness like prone to overcharging?
1. Yes, you will get a little different VOOC charger (still microUSB)
2. Yes, but you will get normal charging rate - the superfast charging will not work.
3. The answer is already in the answer 2.
4. That's hard to say, as the phone with this tech was launched 4 days ago.. Nobody got the opportunity to test it yet, however, Oppo claims it works without destabilizing the battery...

One simple question: fast charging

Hi,
CM roms or GPE ROMs support fast charging ? beacuse with my Samsung Fast charger it has a very slow charge like complete in 2-3 hours.
Thanks !
Samsung charger won't work on this device for fast/quick charging. You can blame Samsung for that (or for manufacturers not all using the same fast charge standard). Samsung does not use the Qualcomm QuickCharge standard, inherent in the Snapdragon chipsets. Samsung decided to use their own proprietary fast charge technology, which only works on their devices. Probably at least part of the reason, is that Samsung does not always use Snapdragon processors in their devices.
With the M8, you need to use a charger that specifically supports Quick Charge 2.0, which will either say QuickCharge 2.0, and/or have the QC logo like this: http://www.androidcentral.com/sites/androidcentral.com/themes/android_visor/images/badges/quick-charge.png
Also, QC 3.0 compliant chargers will also work on this device, but at QC 2.0 speeds (not the faster QC 3.0 charge rates). Might be a consideration if you are going to buy a QC charger, and want some "future proofing" for a possible future QC 3.0 device.
I was reading that some higher amp rated chargers (not QC compliant) may charge slightly faster with QC devices, but you'll never achieve full QC charge rates. And from what you're seeing (and others have reported similar) is that the Sammy charger doesn't give you any faster charging then the "standard" (non-QC) charger that came with the M8.
Not sure (not a CM or GPE user myself), but I believe with the proper charger, QC 2.0 will work on the device, regardless of the ROM, as the feature is built into the chipset hardware itself. But you can probably check the ROM threads to verify that.

is it possible to implement qc3.0 usb coding into custom rom? and other doubts...

as you may know, the QC feature from lenovo....uses a "proprietary" standard, i don't know why.... i think it is a stupid decision by lenovo but i tested some qc 3.0 chargers/power banks and no one can charge our phone over 5v.
only the STOCK charger can go until 12v ( tested with an usb tester)
i am still waiting the 14 days to unlock my bootloader and flash a custom rom, but i SUPPOSE that every custom rom does not have the proprietary quick charge capability. or am i wrong?
i would just undersstand if the possibility to use the fast charge is also possible with EVERY custom rom just because it is a harwdare relation "among" he phone and the stock charger, or is there something that every custom rom BREAK disabling the qc feature?
mmhh... i'm a little sad to have a phone which is capable to be quick charged ONLY with the lenovo charger...... and not every qc 3.0 charger....
get those for your reserve, I got it and really fast-charges P2.

Is Xiaomi Quick Charger 3.0 okay?

I am really upset with my htc 10. It's battery is not okay. Yes it does charging so fast, but It lose charge so fast too.
What is the main problem of it???
And I use a normal HTC 3 pin Charger. I don't have qualcomm 3.0. And its difficult to found in my country.
Can I use Xiaomi Charger 3.0 for my HTC???
Don't know about the Xiaomi charger, although in theory, any certified Quick Charge 3 charger should work (as long as you use a good cable). And the phone is backwards compatible with older charging technology.
I am using my old HTC charger from the ONE V. It is just a normal 5V 1.0 A charger (USB 2.0 spec) and it worked. (I am doing that since I don't need the quick charge, and I figure the slower charging with lower battery temp might prolong its life.) A Quick Charge 2 charger (Samsung), and a USB 3.0 fast charger (5V, 2.4 A) also worked in my case.

fast charge

hello , can i use samsung s6 charger for fast charging on my htc m8 ?
Unfortunately, no. It has to be a charger which bears the Qualcomm Quick Charge logo like this: https://goo.gl/images/vZLCZB
Either the lightning bolt symbol, or the charger will say "Quick Charge 2.0" etc. on it.
The M8 specifically supports QC 2.0, although other official QC chargers will work, to some degree. QC 3 and 4 chargers will charge at QC 2.0 speed (not as fast as QC 3 and 4). A QC1 charger will work (faster than standard charger), but not as fast as QC 2.0 speed.
Unfortunately, Samsung uses their own fast charge technology, which isn't compatible with other brand devices (such as HTC). Blame it on the phone manufacturers, who are trying to differentiate their products with their own fast charge technologies. Breaking the native Qualcomm Quick Charge function, even for devices (such as Samsung, and there are others) that use Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets.
it doesn't have this
