Phone's power button and screen aren't working - Razer Phone Questions & Answers

Just used my phone 5 minutes beforehand, now when I click the power button it doesn't turn the screen on or turn off the phone. Any suggestions, all razer support said to do was wait for a couple hours for the phone to reach 100%.

Mine has the same issue - the phone is on as I sometimes get haptic feedback, but the screen doesn't wake up.

I had the same issue and turned out to be the light sensor on the front. My case covered mine so I just cut a hole and it was back to normal. Try giving the sensor a wipe?

Did you ever find a fix for that. My Razer just did that. No drop or anything, and was working perfectly fine until a couple minutes ago.

Remove the case if it has one
Press and hold power, Vol up Vol down at the same time until you see the logo (10-25 seconds)
see if it works.

Just Volume Up and Power, not all three. Hold those two buttons down for about 10 seconds.

Thanks bro, u just saved me

Happened to me once, after the oreo update.
Had that bug when on beta cyanogen mod a few years ago with a Nexus 5.
****ty programming skills at the kernel level. Blame Razer.
Won't be fixed. They asked someone to provide a log from the crash. Won't happen. They'll never know what causes it. No fix ever except if a miracle happens.

You are an absolute life saver! Not sure why this fixed it when the phone wouldn't charge, turn on, or even give haptic feedback when pressing the power button but I'm not complaining

Same thing has happened to my phone started off going off when my alarm was due it would turn off and not turn on no matter how long you held the button down then I read online to hold vol down and power and it worked.
Then I started getting black screen while watching YouTube could operate the phone but no screen holding vol up and power did a hard reset and that helped a few times but the frequency of the blackouts got more regular I was about to plug my phone in the computer to rescue my data my phone screen hasn't come on since.
When connecting phone to computer it don't automatically go into transfer mode so just shows the phone with a empty file system so it needs changing in the phone so Guna try connecting my phone to TV using a usb c to hdmi cable try and recovery the data like that before sending it away. Anyone got any other suggestions on getting the data off or to revive the screen even for five mins that's all I need

WindowsMediaPlayer

When listening to music with the WMPlayer and the music files are stored on SD card, the screen will not turn of. It means when the PDA is in standby, the SD card is turned of to. When you put your PDA to a pocket, you are opening plenty of apps and that's enoying.
Is there any tool to keep running the SD while the screen is of or turn of only the screen when WMPlayer is running with access to sound on the SD?
Cheers and I hope there is someone else fighting with this...[/b]

Hi,
simply map a Hardware Key to the Screen Off function in Windows Media. If you press this key during playback windows media will only torn off the screen and not the pda. You can find the mapping function in the options menu of Windows Media. I don't know the acurat english menu, because i am using a german device.
Good luck
Hi Frankfurt
Thanks, that's what I was looking for.
I was searching to far and have overseen the button mapping in WMP.
Übrigens habe ich es wahrscheinlich übersehen, weil ich noch mit dt. Version kämpfe

I think you are looking for this:

it locks the screen when activated. The screen is only reactivated when you press the top right button and second little button (with the email envelope icon) together.

Thanks, I liked that program, but didn't like the hardwired button assignments. So, check out this thread and download my modified version of it.

I use both the Record and Camera buttons to restore the screen and input. That's a much nicer combination that the Calendar and Email.
Thanks for your inspirations.
I found the best solution for me. with the mortsaver. Just copy it anywhere into your PPC and map it with a HW button (in my case iexplorer, I don't use it). Listen to the musik, press mapped button, screen off and to have the screen back press again once mapped button. Simlep and nice tool. Cheers for the developer.

Smart cover/magnet sleep-wake function problem

So, it is about this smart cover function of the Nexus 7 2013. The one like from the Apple's iPad where covering up the screen locks the device automatically without the need to press the power button (and unlocking). That's possible because there is a hidden magnet in the device and also in the cover.
Now my problem: whenever I'm not at home, logically the Nexus disconnects from my Wi-Fi router. That's when the smart cover function works very badly. When I uncover the cover, it takes so long for the device to wake up by itself. Sometimes I can't wait and I am forced to press the power button. This annoys me.
But if I'm at home and the device is connected to the Wi-Fi router, the waking up is very fast. (Normal)
Anyone has this same problem? Is there a fix?

I've been having minor problems like this with my Nexus 7 (2013). I've only had it for about a week and until recently had yet to use it beyond the reach of my home wifi. The smart covers (Poetic/Moko) work very well at home but on a recent trip to NY and DC I couldn't get the Nexus turned on by opening the covers. No amount of time waiting would turn them on. I had to manually turn it on every time and considering the awkward button placement it got annoying fast. I even switch from the Poetic to the Moko and same problem. That along with other problems like the Nexus not registering presses, otg problems, and random system crashes are really souring me on the idea of owning nexus device. I've looked online as well but couldn't really find any solutions. I guess I still a week to return it but if you find a solution please post it here.

Screen turns off when phone vibrates

Good evening, recently I was using my HTC one x and the screen suddenly turned off when I was typing, I turned it back on (no problem) but when I wanted to type my pass code to unlock the phone the screen turned off again. I noticed it did this every time the phone vibrated, and since the phone vibrates every time a key is pressed, the screen automatically turns off!!! I have tried restarting it but it has the same problem. I cannot access my phone at all since the pass code requires typing which vibrates the phone which in turn turns the screen off!!!!!
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Black screen if I press the power key

Hi everyone .
I am having a problem after installing any ROM
In detail, the screen remains black if I press the power key and it seems to flash
I have to restart the phone to see the screen again
This problem does not appear when I install Stock ROM 9.0.6
Can you please help me ?
Install an application that can call the power off function programmatically, such as Button Savior.
This will get you closer to knowing the cause of the problem.
i will try tomorrow , thanks

Hi, I installed the app, now what should I do?
Launch the application and grant it permissions. A small icon will appear on the side edge. Touch it. A mini menu will expand. Touch and hold the Power icon for a long moment. If you get a call to the system menu to turn off the phone without blanking the screen, then you have a hardware problem with the Power button, which perhaps responds to pressing the button several times instead of once.
