YouTube Video minimize lag - OnePlus 5T Questions & Answers

When I use the YouTube app, everything seems to be normal as long as I don't minimize the video (you know, drag it to the corner so it's in the lower right of the screen)
It lags like hell. I mean, I got a OnePlus 3 and a Nexus 7 and both do it with 60fps. The 5t does not, and I don't know why. When you drag it, it almost looks like you're dragging two videos at once (doing it very fast looks like there's a black scren behind it)
Does anyone else has this issue? It's no game breaker but it certainly buggs me. And yeah, uninstalled the updates, reinstalled them, deleted the cache of youtube, signed out and signed in...
Bootloader is unlocked, however not rooted. I'm still waiting for the official twrp release.
If anyone got any idea... I would really appreciate it.
I tried to use iYTPB but uninstalled it since it had not the features I liked (and it was laggy too - not the videos, the animations of the app itself)

Am I the only one...? :s

Did you ever fixed this? I'm having this problem on another device.

Well, it's not really a leak since the source is available - the XBMC guys have chosen not to make an APK available yet because it's not complete (lack of hardware accelerated video playback comes to mind). Anyway, the APK is from here: https://www.miniand.com/forums/forums/1/topics/136. It may be worth looking there from time to time as they say they plan to keep the APK updated.
Interesting. Wonder if the skins work like the linux version

So far iv only used 3 skins, 2 work perfect and the 3rd also works but there are some menus you cant assess like when you press left arrow on remote/keys.
Its not playing my MP3 over WIFI but it plays Videos in MKV and other file formats with sound but low FPS,
Movies,Pictures and most other things work fine when played from the SDcard/stick
UI is very small but usable.
Looks very promising

Im finding the menu issue is present with my favourite skin... Neon. Although I can get the sideways ones to pop out sometimes. I eventually managed to get the movies into slide view.... After lots of swiping and button pressing. I still dont know what made it pop out. Havent managed to get the to pop up when the view menu is at the bottom though so I cant get out of slide view.
All my mkvs etc play awesome straight from my network drive smooth as hell looking great

Crashes
Anybody else tried playing with this?
I had an old version that ran, but after downloading the nightlies lately, non of them run, they crash with an error that they can not load libxbmc.so, I checked the app libs folder and it is present and non-zero but it still doesn't load.
Anyone have any idea why?
My GS3 is stock, rooted 4.0.4 (BLG8).

Nexus 7 crashes and Ghost clicks

My Nexus 7 keeps locking up whenever I try to play video through YouTube. I can start the Netflix app or mX Video Player because they failed to load. I also get a lot of Ghost clicks that will register a quick that is the far corner of the screen depending on where I tab down on screen.I have a video detailing the crash that I get after I start watching a video on YouTube that I will post to YouTube with my phone. its going to take me awhile to get the video loaded onto YouTube it soon as its done I will post it on this thread.
I would also like to add that I are currently have the latest updates on my Nexus 7 and I'm not rooted or running a custom ROM. I appreciate any and all help that I can get in trying to fix these issues.
Update: the problem persists in safe mode, I've also got a picture here of what the screen looks like before crash.

Mine is doing exactly that whenever I launch Camera, Youtube, Google Earth and Shadowgun. The weird strip is not that visible though, mine is just a green strip, but the tablet freezes and reboots. Really frustrating since I live in Brazil and there's no Nexus 7 support here...
Still looking but haven't found and possible sources of the issue. Seems to be something with 4.3 and video playing apps.
I really hope this is just a software issue...

Are you on build JSS15Q? There were tweaks not only to the touchscreen but also others, it may fix your issues. Check in "About tablet" for an update or adb sideload the OTA if you're impatient.

[Q] Slow youtube

Hi,
I am long time WFS user and never had problem with youtube before last update. After last update of youtube app, my phone can't handle it. It has some new fancy features but WFS is too slow for it. Does anybody know some good replacement with low requirements ? I mean some light app that can play YTB vids on this shi.tty phone. Best would be older youtube app but I dont have it. Thanks.
BTW: My WFS is clocked to 806mhz
I wasn't crazy about that last update, at least not on the WFS; and, I'm not sure I like that minimizing the playing video to the corner either, on any phone, but maybe too soon to decide.
My suggestion would be to go into Settings>>Applications>>Manage Applications and it should open to your, "Downloaded" apps, if not click on Downloaded. Then click on You Tube and you will have the option to uninstall updates. I believe this will leave the original You Tube and just uninstall the updates. If not, and it uninstalls all of You Tube, what are you going to lose. You have it now with all updates and you can always reinstall You Tube from the app store until you find something else. Now all of this is presuming you've optimized and still think You Tube is too slow.

[Q] In App Stutter

It's not lag its stutter , thats how I would like to put it .
Apps like Play News Stand , Play Store and Even Firefox browser , they all seem to stutter when Scrolling through the app .
To an extent , I could say I have a unstable internet connection but its still fast at least 3 mbps . But I dont understand why should these apps stutter when images are loading or text is clearing out ( Firefox does that ) , I mean when ever it loads it could load quietly like fade in .. why halt for split seconds while scrolling . This is definately not a Lag issue for this tablet but it seems that there is a compatibility issue cuz my S4 does not really stutter as much with the same apps .
Anyone have a clue as to what could it be , any way to load the images gently without affecting scrolling ..
Also a similar thing is seen in the launcher , when connecting to WiFi , when it pops up a toast saying its connected to XYZ Wifi network ... The launcher scroll stutters for a split second ..
Any clues or fixes ?
Appart from this, the tab is smooth in non network based apps .. like sketchbook pro etc

In my experience, this sort of stutter isn't related to any tab or phone be it android or otherwise. It simply happens because with apps like Play Store and News Stand, all of the information is not pulled at once. As in, the entire set of information is not loaded, and it is loaded when you scroll down, adding to the "stutter". It has happened to me in every app that does not fully preload on any OS. As far as browser is concerned, I don't use Firefox on Android but UCBrowser and BoatBrowser have the fastest scrolling, and zooming speed I have found. For me, BoatBrowser seems to reduce this preload stutter the most.
Pre-Load !

Slow tablet/ video issue

Hello, I have a slight issue with my Nexus 7 (2013) WiFi (flo). Currently running on Slim 6.0.1 alpha but to be honest it was the same on CM13 Nightly and Paranoid OS.
Whats the nature of the issue:
While playing 1080p youtube videos after every 10 seconds there is a half second frame stop - mildly annoying
If I watch my series on my tablet with VLC/BS Player/MX Player this POS does the same even with 720p - very annoying
There is nothing more just the occasional lag but as it is a 2 years old tablet with a 3 years old hardware I guess that's okay.
I tried a bunch of things (factory reset, wipe, reinstall, another OS) however, no progress yet. Since I am out of ideas would you be so kind and advise a possible solution?
Thank you in advance! (And pardon my English)
Please try the following:
download SPMC (alt) (Kodi)
install and run it
in SPMC install YouTube addon
Test it out and let us know.
My intuition tells me that the problem is WIFI/network related rather than hardware/rom related. One easy way to confirm this is to download the entire video to your tablet (maintaining the 1080 or 720 quality respectively), playing it locally, and seeing if you still get the frame drops.
I suspect that you won't.
If you don't, then it's time for communications diagnostics and optimizations. There's a slew of things that might help, from the simple (like turning off bluetooth), to the complex (hacks to increase communication buffer size), and so on.
Well, SPMC works with offline 720p mkv, now it is barely slowing however, I cannot set to watch youtube videos in 1080p. The default is 1080p and asks the resolution but the max is 720p.
Yup, definitely sounds like a bandwidth issue to me.
My fiancee has the exact same tablet, she bought it 2 months later at the same place. The only difference between the 2 devices is the OS. Her's runs on stock and mine runs on Slim 6, the stock plays videos online/offline flawlessly. Since mine is struggling with both I believe this is not a bandwidth issue but I am not an expert. Probably worth mentioning that my Meizu M1 Note and her Huawei P8 Lite runs videos smoothly.
Would it be a possible solution to reinstall the stock OS? Yes, I am that desperate.
BTW: Thank you!

Sure, please get factory image or use NRT to flash stock OS.
