Low headphone volume - Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Questions & Answers

Hello!
I am looking for ways to raise the volume on the headphones. I have tried various things supplied in the magisk manager, this forums for other devices but nothing seems to work properly. Some of them breaks phone call audio, others does nothing at all.
Is the chinese rom mixer files louder than the global ones on this device to? Can someone post them so i can try?

Use dolby atmos
Or viper4android

Chinese rom definitely louder than global.. Probably doesn't have any volume level limitation that applies to European Union and maybe other countries.
One solution I found is to flash eu rom that is based on Chinese release and have great loud sound again.

Most simple and one working is to install Total Commander, its built in media player has its option. Posting screen thought. No root or whatever. Tested and using with my Sony MDR-100ABN, works like charm without any impact on quality level. Only thing bothers me why cant i use ldac in developers option.

I have the same problem. Has anyone tried installing Viper on a stock Oreo Global ROM (I am rooted of course)? Does it work ok?

[APP/HOWTO]: Louder Speaker & Headphone Sound CM10.1

Low Headphone and Speaker sound on your S2 got you down?
Tired of installing all those zip files only to have them boot loop your phone?
Try this app, Alsa Mixer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.alsamixer
Once you've installed the app, fire it up and let it install the additional files.
After the additional files have been installed, you're now ready to configure the audio levels.
Here are some settings just for example.
You must tune these to your listening hardware/phone.
It's best to tune these values while music is playing on the hardware you're tuning for. For example, play a track on the speaker while you're tuning the speaker.
If you don't want to do too much tweaking, skip the Master tuning and go straight to the Speaker and Headphone tuning.
Tap Master and set it to 85:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
This will boost all volumes.
Tap Speaker and set it to 20
This lowers speaker output so it's not distorted by the Master value set above.
After you make all changes to your liking tap Menu Soft-Key and Tap Save.
You may also choose to increase the Speaker and Headphone values independently, however I've found that increasing the Master yields more of a boost.
In the end it's up to your personal taste.
Optional: DSP Manager
Works with DSP Manager for CM.
Post your settings so others can try them.
Alsa Mixer can do a lot of other really cool things check them out.
Please note that this app REQUIRES root and was tested on CM 10.1 latest nightly up to this posting time.
Too high levels may harm your speakers therefore you should only increase volumes incrementally.
Reply if you've gotten it to work on other roms or have not.

Can anyone with knowledge of the USB sound functionality help me with this DAC?

So I have a OnePlus 3 and a USB Dragonfly Red DAC.
Common problem with these DAC's is that Android reads the "default" volume as the "max" volume.
So when I plug in the DAC the DAC tells the phone that the default volume is 22 out of 64 volume steps. But the phone hears that as the max volume steps is 22 which makes the DAC really quiet.
Dragonfly Red manufacturers tried to fix this with a firmware patch last week but it didn't work with the OP3.
Does anyone have a nifty way of getting the phone to set the max volume to the correct 64 steps instead of 22? Maybe some config file somewhere?
Long shot but I thought I'd ask.
Thanks in advance if anyone has a fix.
Hi I have the red dac, the firmware was for mqa not androids dodgy volume, basically you need root and an app called alsa mixer from the store first off then you have to type a command in terminal emulator to fix the DFR at a higher volume, i will provide the command ill just find it, I can help further I had this problem and hated it and then I found a fix
https://www.head-fi.org/f/threads/new-dragonfly-black-and-red-discussion.805832/page-185
post number 2769 has the instructions
the app alsamixer is available on apk mirror it is a free app that was on the playstore but has since been removed
The update was actually supposed to fix the volume issues but they kept it pretty quiet at the time. It fixed it for my friend who is on the HTC 10 but unfortunately it didn't work for all models.
Thanks for the info though I'll try that later today. Much appreciated

Viper4android on A2 lite?

Since there is no custom recovery for mi A2 lite yet, is there any way to install Viper4Android on this phone?
There are four modules on Magisk repository to install viper. I hope at least one of them works fine.
I installed but they don't work (processing say no)

The second image didn't load, so not sure what happened, but have you tried playing any music? First time open the processing say yes, but after I turn on music, the processing say no (driver status)

The second image load from PC, don't know from mobile site.
I don't use V4A so I tested it only briefly with the phone speaker, not headphones.
I played music a couple of time and it worked.
Be sure to use the 1.7 version like in the picture. When installing the module, it asks if you want to install old version or new version: I picked the new version.
Then asks if you want old design or material design, and I picked material design.
Installing V4A was one of the first thing i tried to do after succeedig in installing magisk.
So i followed your advise but never managed to make it work with 1.7 V4A module in magisk, until i tried to install older version of V4A from 1.7 module.
I choosed 2.4.0.1 driver and have it to work by installing selinux in permissive mode.

Question Any custom rom with volume-per-app support?

I want to know a rom in which you can manage independent volume of apps.
like stock
Could you give a screenshot of something like that being possible? I don't know what you mean

Xiaomi.eu Custom ROM can do that. You have to enable it in Audio Settings first

With stock MUIU, go into the settings/about/all specs/click multiple times on kernel version, you'll have the basic test for the phone and will be able to test main mic and top mic too
