Touchscreen gloves that actually work - OnePlus 3T Accessories

The touchscreen gloves that worked perfectly with my LG G4 no longer work on my OP 3T. Can someone who actually owns a pair that do work recommend them? Ideally from Amazon, but definitely in the US. Thanks.

Well, I had a galaxy s5 before and the sensitive mode was perfect to use with gloves. I think OP3T's screen is not sensitive enough, so even though my gloves work with it, the experience is overall pretty bad.
I'm using North face gloves BTW.

I wouldn't expect "regular" knit gloves to work but I have three different pairs of gloves with special capacitive material in the fingertips and none of them work.

My gloves are these ones:
https://www.thenorthface.com/shop/m...dstopper-etip-gloves-nf0a2t83?variationId=JK3
I have to press the fingers a lot harder than usual for it to work.

I have the same ones and they work just fine... Does your screen respond right without gloves too? Maybe your screen sensitivity is too low?

In my case, the touch works perfectly without gloves. Do you know if there is a way to improve touch sensitivity or it is a hardware thing?

It's a hardware thing, do you have one of those touchscreen styluses? Do these things work properly? Maybe if they don't work either, your touch screen might be due for a replacement..

Since I first raised this issue I've come to realize that the previous owner had put a Rockxdays tempered glass protector on the screen (which is not bad actually). This is the first time I've used TG (previous phones had PET) and I'm wondering if perhaps it causes the lesser sensitivity to gloves. Be that as it may I've had a few recommendations for North Face gloves and should any of the people who contributed to this thread read this, are you using the NF gloves with a tempered screen protector? I have a strong feeling that if I went back to the Illumishield PET protectors I've always liked, the Oneplus would be just as responsive to the gloves I already have as the G4 I just sold.

Well, that's a good point. I'm still using the plastic screen protector that came with the 3T, maybe this is causing my sensibility problems even with North Face gloves? @Incanity, do you have any screen protectors?

Well, good to know... I'll wait a little bit more and will try removing the protector someday. Still don't have the courage to do that because I know that no other protector will fit.

Found ts gloves that work well
I looked at the North Face etip gloves and while I appreciate that they come in a range of styles, they didn't strike me as particularly warm and were more than I wanted to spend.
Last year I bought these Xiaomi gloves from Best Gear. They are a medium weight wool blend and warm enough for all but the coldest days. They work really well with the OT 3T and a TG screen protector.
Unfortunately they are discontinued.
https://goo.gl/9jVsU7
I wanted a pair of lighter weight gloves to replace those I bought from Amazon that no longer work. I did not want to spend much more than the $5 the Amazon gloves cost.
These gloves from H&M are perfect: https://goo.gl/i6cAQf. They are two pair for the pack, one black and one gray and work perfectly. Only $10. They are not particularly warm but they are thin enough to fit under warmer gloves.
If you call H&M and they are unable to find the gloves at a store near you, they will waive shipping. Recommended.

I have used clearplex on my note 5.3 and my N7. I just ordered one for my note 10.1
out of all the screen protectors out there this is the best one I have found. It does NOT feel like plastic. it actually feels just like screen glass. our s pen works great with this. I have tried others and the s pen doesnt respond like it does with clearplex. try this. you will not regret it.

It completely replicates glass so there will be fingerprints.but, they also sell a awesome cream that works to repel smudges called nuTouch. And use the code "grandma" to receive 15% off your order.
Great recommendation. Just ordered 2 for my wife and I. Thanks.

I have'nt got the new one yet for the 10.1 note. As soon as I do I'll post some pics. But, I also have the note 5.3 phone and it works awesome in responsivesness. I tried others and they don't come close to this. It seriously feels like the same screen glass as your device. Obviously its not gorilla but it is perfect for the s pen.
You won't regret using this if your a screen user.
thank you for the recommendation

That, my friend, is a great price. I paid almost 24 with 15% off for my nexus 7. Glad to hear you got such a great deal!
It works well
When I saw the recommendation here I purchased it online. I'm a stylus fanatic. I purchased the HTC Jetstream soon after release. Like everything else the Jetstream failed at, the screen protector made for it sucked. It was too tacky and clearly wasn't produced with the stylus in mind! My solution was to find a matte finish protector. That worked well. When I saw this as a non-matte option, I was a little skeptical, but also excited. I thought I'd try it out. Got the expedited shipping so it arrived last week. This was the first time I ever put on my own screen protector. It was so easy, I'll do it from here on out. This thing works as it says. Looks good on the device, clear as day, and best of all, as smooth as glass writing with the stylus! Even better than matte. The only slight problem was that the protector is slightly smaller than the front. It covers the entire touch-screen portion, but leaves a little room on the rest of the front all around. The company actually reached out to me, on their own, to offer me a fix. I'm going to take them up on it. Why not. So, my rating is very positive. Good product, great for stylus, very good customer support. Feel free to ask me any questions. I come on here every couple of days.
Nick
I have had mine on for a couple of days now...perfect fit and feels really nice. s pen is working great too!
Here are a couple of my impressions to the Clearplex:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30959465&postcount=42
I have to add that functionality wise, is like the protector is not there. Either I got used to it or the drying/curing process improved things. Very pleased with my purchase.
Can you remove and reapply this if you get it the alignment wrong the first time? And did you all get the NuTouch HD Treatment too?
dja2k
So I've had mine on for a couple of weeks now and have decided to pickup a different one. The good side of this one is that it is like advertised and just as smooth and clear as the original screen for writing on.
Unfortunately mine is a total fingerprint / smudge magnet even with the NuTouch cream on it (it's so bad that you can see pen strokes on it after writing) and mine seems to have a slight streaking to it on the long axis. It also seems that they used a pattern off maybe one of the tab's since it's just a little smaller then the screen (about to get the Samsung book case so want to have full coverage especially since I forgot to reseal my edges during the drying time and when I remove my current case you can see the edges clearly visible) and they cover the ambient light sensor (probably not that big of a deal). The final reason I'm switching is to get an anti-glare protector.

I will admit that it does hold fingere smudges, but I have'nt found a closer to glass experience out there. And the company is good at fixing any problem you have with the product which is a major plus for me.
I use rain x on my screen and smudges don't show up anymore...I have the best of both worlds now. A great scren protector that is fantastic with my note and s pen, and a 3 dollar smudge protector from rain x. easy!!!

[Q] Moto X Screen Protectors ?

Hello Folks,
I know there are loads of screen protector threads out there but none of them are recent for the MotoX.
I have had an XtremeGuard Protector on my X for a few months, but the gummyness, orange peel and lack of screen sensitivity is killing me.
What are some good current options that are $15 or under ?
Thanks,
Pete
I'm currently using the SUPCASE Screen protector that came with my case: has everything I need to get it on once and only once(even comes with a lint remover film). Looks and feel great. I don't know what you mean by 'gummyness though, the only screen protector I would describe that has a gummy-like feel(especially when I pinch with my fingernail is the Skinomi brands.

I'll second these. I had the ArmorSuit and it was terrible. These are cheap, durable and don't negatively affect the screen.I've been using one for over 2 months and it still looks fine.

I bought a couple of the Mimeusa.com glass screen protectors, one for my wife and another for myself. Installed mine first, its a little different installing such a stiff protector, luckily i was able to lift it back up easily a couple times to adjust the positioning.
The wifes I installed a couple hours after, and it felt like it gave me more problems. didn't want to get positioned right, but eventually I got it lined up well.
The next day it fell off in her car while she was driving and got covered in dirt and dust on the adhesive side.
Mine is still on, after 2 weeks of use;
The texture is awesome! i hate most screen protectors, but this is glass and feels so good to the touch. you hardly notice its there.
It hasn't taken and scratches, and it does feel like fingerprints are less noticeable than on the bare screen.
I don't have a case of my X yet, ordered a bumper from amazon, but its not here yet.
I feel that the protector gathers small fibers easily at the edge. there are a couple of very small fibers that have worked there way just under the edge of the glass. They are hardly noticeable, especially when the screen is on.
I have not seen any new accumulation since the first few days, so maybe its more prone to catching the fibers in the hours / day after installation. I would advise avoiding pockets for 24 hours after installing this product if you can.
I will probably use this screen protector until it chips/breaks/gets too scratched up, and then go naked screen for the rest of the phones life.
If you are intending to spend $15 for a screen protector, might as well get a tempered glass one. I'm using this one: http://www.amazon.com/i-Blason-Motorola-Ultra-Thin-Tempered-Protector/dp/B00E0CUP18/
If you installed it correctly the first time, it should stay stuck and without any bubbles.

I would just like to throw out my support for Liquid Armor. I use it on all of my touchscreen devices, and have never had a scratch on a screen since, and it feels just like glass, without anything on it. The best part is that the one bottle can be used for several screens. Though if you don't use it in a couple months, the stuff will harden in the nozzle of the bottle, making it more difficult to use.
Edit: figured Id throw in a link. http://www.amazon.com/Dynaflo-LIQUID-ARMOR-Universal-Microfiber-DYN-LA100SP/dp/B007EZ3EM0

Disclaimer: I posted this in a couple other threads, but I wanted to try and post it where I know we've been discussing tempered glass screen protectors.
Here's some pictures of the redesigned i-Blason protector. As you can see, there is now a cutout for the proximity sensor. The corners also fit the Moto X perfectly (their old design fit perfectly too). Very happy I finally have a protector that FITS and where the proximity sensor won't be blocked! I liked the i-Blason until I had started having proximity sensor issues because I had dropped it several times, and it never once cracked, unlike the MIME, which cracked the very first time I dropped it.

i have tempered glass on my moto X ( mimeusa.com/product/moto-x-ghost-glass-screen-protector/ ) since january.
it was very easy to install and the feel is wonderful. my only complaint is that when you drop your phone, it can crack. better a crack on the protector than a scratch on the device, right? my phone has been pretty suicidal lately, what w/ jumping off tables, so it has accumulated many cracks on the protector. i am replacing it (with same ghost glass) and also buying a bumper case ... that may make a difference in the life span of the protector.
this is my first glass protector and yes i like it. on previous devices i used zagg screen protectors and was VERY HAPPY with them, but when i ordered their protector for the moto X, i found that they must have screwed up on the device specs, as the film didn't even cover the entire viewing screen. UNACCEPTABLE! i will not go back to their products.
I had the MIMEUSA and was very happy with the feel of the MIMEUSA, but it didn't fit properly. The corners were too squared and extended over the screen. The edges were also suppose to be beveled to prevent chipping but mine seemed like they were beveled out, leaving a lip on the glass. This all led to the edges chipping and eventually a larger break.
I ordered the i-Blason to try it and am very happy. The fit is perfect, its quite a bit thinner than the MIMEUSA, and it feels just as slick and smooth as the MIMEUSA and the glass screen. I would recommend the i-Blason over the MIMEUSA. And the i-Blason is only $17 on Amazon making it about the same price as the high quality plastic protectors.

Tempered glass touch sensitivity - the truth?

Hi Guys,
Quick question. I realize I didn't go for an expensive tempered glass protector, however, looking for the most honest answer on losing any touch sensitivity with even the high end, tempered, curved tempered glass protectors... Do you lose sensitivity when you installed yours?
On flat screen phones in the past, I haven't had this issue, however with this phone, I notice a significant deal of touch sensitivity, especially when I'm trying to use it when it's laying flat on a table and I'm trying to swipe at it at am angle.
Looking for honest answers... No matter how expensive your protector yours was... Thank you!
Depends on how well the TGSP sits on the phone.
I haven't heard of any touch sensitivoty issues with full adhesive ones like the whitestone dome.
The ones with only adhesive on the borders, you might lose sensitivity if for example the glass in the middle lifts/not sitting flat or if the vendor used some crap material.
I have only had experience with the Olixar and some no name brand from the local shop, both side adhesive and both were fine on sensitivity
Tempered glass touch sensitivity
Probably, this might depend on the quality of tempered glass screen protector that you are using. Its installation also matters the most. See to it whether it has fit your phone perfectly or not.
So far I haven’t heard any such issues and I personally haven’t faced any such problems.
Try the TGSP from Otium on Amazon. It's cheap & pretty good. It's also case-friendly.

Got it, thanks for reporting your experience bud.
Guys,
This is the best solution I have found (for the price), a full screen adhesive TGSP for £9.00.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Samsung-...341497?hash=item2f0d1b14b9:g:CFIAAOSw3WxaRXwn
No loss in sensitivity no dot matrix on screen, and is case friendly too. Although this technically is for the S* with their identical screen dimensions, this should work on the S9 too.
And no, its not like the other cheap TGSP on the market as this one sticks entirely to the glass with no gaps.
Give it a try.

Is it really adhesive across the *whole* screen? It's an amazing price. Is it real glass or some sort OF Tough plastic? Can you scratch it with something sharp, like a knife? Do you have a manufacturer website URL?

Yes it really is full screen adhesive, and yes it really is glass.........but.......it is some sort of glass/plastic composite, which has the hardness of tempered glass (so no, you can't scratch it), but a little elasticity and flex like plastic, which is actually needed to fit the protector to the phone. I know its definitely glass, as this is my second one, and when removing the first one (phone fell out of my pocket whilst cycling and TGSP shattered on one edge) the whole thing shattered like TGSP are supposed to. Will post some pictures later today when I get the chance, but after almost a year of trying different varieties, TGSP with glue around edges, TPU ones, PET ones etc, I have to say that for the money this is the best solution I've found. The only one I can imagine that is better than this would be the whitestone one, however, this is easier to install, and a fraction of the price too!

Less than a millimeter gap on each side. Real estate that isn't important. I purchased a Nillkin tempered glass screen protector made for the Find X2, but it diminished touch input (I had to press harder on the screen to get it to work). The OnePlus 8 is much better.
The pre-installed plastic screen protector on mine is getting a bit worse for wear. I'm not sure what route to go down with replacement (currently using a case). Tempted by some more plastic protectors - but then I'm not sure how bad this would deteriorate the actual screen 'experience', as you would imagine that a screen this good needs to be 'unhindered' by cheap protection.
Any suggestions?

Please do let me know! I'm in the UK too and have a few of the Hydro gel screen protectors here ready to replace the factory one if needed, and I've a few UV Loca Glue ones coming from Aliexpress. But it'd be good to know how the Ultimate Shield one is [emoji4]

Yes please let us know ! I was willing to buy them cause the nillkin 3d CP+ max are pure garbage ...
They fit with the official kevlar case but as said before touch input / screen's sensitivity is completly off and fingerprints scanner doesn't work with dark wallpaper :/
As a alternative to Tempered Glass, these TPU ones are outstanding, feel amazing & fit perfectly!

I already got the glue one, gonna install it tonight and will tell you how it feels in 2-3 days
Okay, my impressions after installing it. Quality related is very good, same as Asbellt I'd say, probably the best screen protector you can install on Oppo find x2 pro nowadays BUT really important to avoid the mistake I made:
- Level very well the phone before using the glue, the rear cameras will make the phone unstable in the surface and the glue will fall across the screen, use the plastic protector or something to level the phone, or with your hands or whatever but this is very important, I could have installed it a bit better than I did because of this.
- Also, this screen protector doesnt cover 100% of the screen like the Asbellt one did (at least with One Plus 7 Pro). This one covers around 85/90% ratio of the screen, I find it more than enough but still important to say because this was disappointing for me.
Anyway I'd recommend it, its not perfect, I would have liked it to cover 100% of the screen, not 90%, but im quite sure this is the best screen protector you can use on the phone, touch fidelity 100%, like if there was no protector, it will definitely protect your screen from drops, only the protector will break, I say this cause I have a lot of experience with these glue protectors, I bought the One Plus one like 3 or 4 times (2 years of drops and the screen is as the first day, like just taken out of the box) and well, to sum up, the screen protector is not perfect, I'd like Asbellt to produce one themselves but in my opinion this is the best you can buy at the moment.

Cheers for the info! [emoji4] I've got a few coming from Aliexpress which I only paid a few quid each for, I'm wondering if mine will cover the full screen or be slightly smaller like you've said the one you bought is.

I have installed the same one. I would like to add.
I also made a mistake when installing it, did not realise they give more glue than needed (Last UV one I installed had the correct amount of glue) also the top speaker is very close and on a curve so be careful as you could get glue in it.
The UV light quality is very good.
It also comes as Pack of 2 so I have another shot

Definitely not, from the package contents there's no glue meaning the protector only has adhesive applied to the edges, this ruins screen sensitivity, fingerprint sensor accuracy and makes annoying clicking sounds in the corners

Question Just installed a glass screen protector and FPR won't recognize

I did the steps people have said to do like increase touch sensitivity and re add all the fingers I would use but it still won't work. I don't know who made this protector since I got it off a marketplace site and when I met with the person all he gave me was the screen protector. It was only $5 i got it for so no big deal if it's ****.
Other than that it feels good and everything else works fine.
There are some other threads on here about glass screen protectors. The majority don't work with FP, but there are some that do. Check those threads for info.
In general you need to go for the UV glued type..... All the ones with just glue on the edges will leave an air gap between screen and glass, this heavily impedes with FP functionality.....
Is the brand on Google's approved list?

The air gap has nothing to do with it, the Pixel 6 with its perfectly flat screen has the same problems, my wifes Spigen one has rendered her FPS useless.

Thanks, maybe the cause is not as simple as I assumed... Still my experience remains over many phones: the edges-only glued glass protectors just don't work (for me )

I'm not disputing that, i was just clarifying the Pixel 6 suffers the same problem even with a flat screen.
Never had a problem with a 1+ phone using a glass protector over the FPS even with the cheapest crap i could find so as far as i am concerned all the reasons Google are coming out with are absolute cobblers.
So should I just take this thing off or wait for a software update from Google?
I for myself have installed a TPU screen protector presently, awaiting delivery of a UV glass protector as I like those more
I'd hope Google improves the behaviour of the FPS, in how far however I don't know.....
I am currently using the below TPU screen protector and could not be happier with it. My fingerprint scanner works nearly every single time and I have not had an issue. Once the screen protector has been properly applied (I admit, I screwed it up the first time) I cannot even tell that it is on my screen visibly or by touch.
Having said that, I am a little concerned that a TPU screen protector is not as good in general as a glass one. I have not had an issue yet, but I also have not had an accidental drop or anything.
I will also say that I have registered each of my thumbs twice. I will get an occasional "longer" read, and by longer, maybe a half a second longer. However, I have noticed that when that happens, my thumb is slightly out of the read circle. When my thumb is dead center, it reads it every time really quickly.
I am not all that excited about a UV glass protector as I have read horror stories of discoloration and some users not being able to get them off.
Supposedly Google has released their approved screen protectors list. I am not about to spend 50 bucks on a Zagg. The one for Panzer was more reasonable, but it disappeared off their website. The Otterbox is another TPU and I like the one I have:
Amazon.com
I might just take this off and use nothing. I didn't use a protector for my s7 edge or s10+ and didn't get a single scratch. I only got it because I wanted to preserve the oilyaphobic coating. This thing only cost me $5 in the end
Did peeps make sure to use the increased screen sensitivity setting for use with screen protectors?

yes, it makes zero difference.
Typically with curved screens, you need a full-screen adhesive in order for the FPR to work after installation. Either that, or one with edge adhesive with an area over the reader that also sticks to the screen, but I personally think those are kinda ugly. For the regular P6, my girlfriend ordered a brand called "TOCOL" for a glass protector, which is working great all around.
If/when Whitestone Dome releases one for the P6P, that will be the only really good option. It's either that, or buy an edge adhesive style one, buy LOCA glue and a UV lamp, and DYI it. Only way you're going to have glass and a working FPR.
I'm using a TPU protector and a case. TPU has come a long way tbh, the dry install ones I got feel like a naked screen and give me some piece of mind in regard to small scratches. The case does the rest as far as drop protection. Victus Glass is pretty good for shatter resistance generally, but crap for scratches.
OP, I would remove that one if you want to use the Fingerprint Reader. There isn't a software update that's going to solve that problem unfortunately. I'd just use a decent TPU for now and if you really want glass after you try it still pray for Whitestone Dome. There's another thread on here dedicated to working protectors, I'd check that out and pick one.
Pixel 6 Pro screen protector
Hi all, I have a few questions around tempered glass screen protectors for curved screens like the Pixel 6 Pro, I was wondering if people had any answers to: Are there any known brands that do good quality curved tempered glass screen...

If you prefer the 9H glass protectors, you'll have to find a glass protector that is "Google certified" to work with fingerprint reader.
These are glued to the screen to make 100% positive contact with the glass protector.
I'm guessing you have a 9H glass protector like mine that has a very small air gap between the screen and the protector. Even with the enhanced fingerprint reader setting, my fingerprint reader doesn't pick up anything.
The TPU flexible protectors supposedly work well, but I like the 9H glass protectors.
The Google Certified 9H glass protectors that I've found are between $15 - $39 per protector, and many of them are "out of stock" at the moment.

Yeah it's only the Pro model that has curved screens and requires UV glue protectors, which there is currently none available until Whitestone Dome releases. I managed to get this and it works perfectly but it's already out of stock [3 Pack]Google Pixel 6 Pro Screen Protector,Akcoo Liquid UV Tempered Glass [Full Screen Adhesive][Edge to edge coverage][Compatible with fingerprint sensor] for Pixel 6 Pro 6.7 inch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09KC72DW...abc_YW4QX456AX8GJ33BV928?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
