Poweramp messed up with Dolby Atmos setting and won't change back after uninstalled.. - Razer Phone Questions & Answers

I just installed PowerAmp because I don't like using Google Play Music. The Poweramp equalizer somehow messed up with the Dolby Atmos, and now I only get one side speaker on when it is on. It is fine if I turn it off tho. Any solution?
Update: Switched to a new one, but it happened again as soon as I installed Amazon Prime Music... I guess there must be something wrong with the latest Dolby Atmos update.

I had to do a factory reset to get my top speaker working again, after a similar experience.
I reinstalled my equalizer app & haven't had the problem return.

I am not so sure how to reinstall the equalizer app because Dolby Atmos is built in to the phone. There is no way to reinstall or remove it.

I was referring to the 3rd party equalizer that previously interfered with Dolby.

[MOD] Universal "Beats" \ Audio EQ Add-On

Has anyone gotten the AIO Beats mod to work on the Galaxy Nexus? It installs fine, but appears to do nothing. Anyone else care to share? volume+ just inst cutting it for me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525226
Currently using Gnex, AOKP B36
What for? Beats is just a software EQ, and not even a good one at that. PowerAMP has much more features if you're looking for a software EQ for your music.
Or you can just buy a better set of headphones, then install a custom kernel and enable the high performance audio mode.
No beats is not just software... this mod has lib audio files and bin files... I've used it on my epic and it sounded quite a bit better. Clearer... I have the full deal on my laptop and it blows away my phone with a software EQ.

Gotcha . That explains some things... but i mean i could definetly tell some difference when i had it on my epic.. things cleared up. Although it could have been mostly placebo. Anyways back on topic... i just tried the samsung version and the original none of which booted... it went to the android is upgrading and then wouldn't finish... just restored my backup and all is fine again. SO nope.. cant use it .
DSP Manager > BEATS imo. And works with not just your music app but also with everything else that uses audio.
IE: Pandora, iHeart Radio, Video player, etc...

Nope.
Beats is the software equalizer. A shielded headphone jack and isolated circuitry are things you can find in any good desktop or laptop sound card, and the fact that they didn't exist in prior HP laptops means HP just has a history of terrible design.

Equalizer > DSP.... but i use both.. DSP for the compression and Equalizer for EQ . I definetly miss my voodoo sound and EQ... but i guess this will do... just doesnt sound the same at least through my speakers.. headphones wise it sounds similar.

Stock music player and Awesome Beats

I am using Jedi rom and seems like awesome beats only works with this fugly Walkman app.
Is awesome beats suppose to work with other players? Maybe even system wide with video apps and youtube?
I would like to use stock music app with it. Is this even possible?

I have the same issue.... I just flashes the stock Samsung player. (which in my opinion is a million times better) and the beats audio booster does not work with it... It's a shame because the added bass boost + my audio technical ath m50s makes a killer combo.... Does anyone know how to get it to work on the stock player?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
Yeah, it doesn't seem to work with the Stock Music Player, but it does work with Google music player. You may prefer that to the Walkman app.
I tried awesome beats last night and can't say I'm a fan. The bass boost was horrid, it was way bloated had no definition and sounded awful! At least on my phone. The other settings weren't as bad but still prefer it flat.
Flash Ac!d audio.
I read the thread but it warns not to flash on any rom that has another music app already on it.. What would instructions be to flashing this?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
I wasnt expecting too much from it but actually I liked the bass of it. However that walkman app is pain in the back to navigate or add toba playlist etc...
I tried to freeze music fx hoping awesomebeats might replace it but no chance. Still doesnt work.
Guy just flash the purseus kernel and choose the eargasm setting and you will have a eargasm lol.no joke

Can't say I notice a difference between eargasm and flat (disabled). Enabling Stereo expansion did add a little something though. At least it didn't destroy the audio like "Not-So-Awesome" Beats.

[Q] Problems with music apps and DSP Manager

Hey guys, first post ever on the site. Hoping the LGOG community can help me out on this one.
I'm on 4.1.2, rooted, stock rom, and trying to find a way to make DSP manager work on my phone. For some reason it only works if I flash CM10.2 (but I don't like CM because whenever I plug in to my computer I can only use CTP and not MTP since computer won't recognize it under MTP), and if I try using it on the stock rom it won't work. I use a music-playing app called ZPlayer (a music player that's made to look like the music player app for the Windows phones), and it comes with an EQ and Visualizer (an effect made to make the music sound "3D") and sometimes I have to restart the phone hoping that the EQ and Visualizer will work because sometimes it just stops working whenever I go back to the app. I'm just trying to make the music on my phone sound awesome. I've read that the Beats Audio or noozoxoide are better than DSP, but those don't seem to work either. Suggestions?
TL;DR: DSP manger not working on rooted stock rom 4.1.2, any alternatives?
Thanks in advance.

Doesn't have a compressor, but yes a very good eq app. Just hate it when I add bass to one song and then it blows up my headphones when I go to bass-heavy song.
You try Viper4Android?

Viper4Android
Yes, the answer is Viper4Android, try to install it and if you cant. Install OptimuS 4.1 or NexoGen wich have buit-in by default

Anybody installed viper4android app in their 7a to improve the sound?

Anyone manage to installed this app and make it work? I tried installing it but it didnt work in my 7a. Dont know if I download it correctly.
Thanks

I did but the sound was messed up. So I went back to CM DSP manager.
Installation itself was a bit of a pain. Just so you know the Viper4Android in the google play store is not supported by the Viper4Android team/person. With the google play version I also ran into issues with driver installation.
Download APK from the official source. See XDA forum link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223 and follow instructions mentioned therein. The zip file contains 2 APKs. Install the desired APK via sideload. There are no issues with driver installation when using this APK.
In any case output sound on Find7a is messed up. So save some trouble and install CM Apps DSP manager or Music FX. While the sound quality is not comparison to Viper it is better than the rest.
I have it running under the actual Gummy Nightly.
I simply installed the kitkat apk, installed the super quality driver and made a reboot.
Alter reboot you have to choose viper as standard music effect in sound settings.
Per viper app you can play with the different options to improve your speakers or headphones.
I got no problems so far and the results are great. The speaker is loud and has bass again.

How do I change the sound settings on the stock ColorOS ROM? I do not see explicit options to set app for sound effects.
Sent from my N550JV using Tapatalk
I think, viper mod will not work with Color OS. Someone tried that and got massive sound errors.
I think, the two engines are not compatible.

What settings are you using? Can you post screen shots of them?
Installed CW, rooted the phone...
Installed busybox in the playstore...
Installed V4A FX,
fails at installing drivers saying busybox does not work or incomplete root... Root works fine for other apps, and busybox seems to be installed correctly... Did anyone here figure it out?
Where did you get the app from? See my post above from some time ago. You need to download the apk from a seperate site and then sideload the app.

Sound Mods

Any sound mods here to boost the system and headphone volume like the Galaxies have cause the headphones are too low and its unacceptable with the mods on my galaxy s5 and viper they rocked and now my skullcandy navigators sound like trash [emoji30]
Pretty funny, i find the sound really loud.
I kept stock and used a app called jet audio best player app going, loads of enhancers and a pre amp in the eq.
I have brought it and would obviously say to buy it just to help the developer and guarantee your up to date with any updates, but before i brought it i managed to get a version off the internet just by doing a google search. Defo give it a go mate

I have used Viper4Android on my previous devices, however I have been wondering if it affects "audio recording" in anyway? Because I have yet to test video recording on loud clubs etc.. But I don't want to install V4A if it is somehow going to influence the audio recorded in video recording.
I would appreciate if you know the answer, thank you.
