IronMan-Rom for the Galaxy S7 is finally here with a dedicated thread on XDA :victory:
Hey guys! Here we are another time
Assuming that you already know me more or less, this rom is based upon latest Samsung Experience 8.5 (Android 7.1.1). I really love the Samung UI, that's why I work on those roms and not on AOSP such as LineageOS, I know I'm a little fanboy
Coming to the features, it's similar to the ones you'll find on my other roms such as BatMan-Rom (for the S8/S8+ and S7/S7e) or the SuperMan-Rom (for the S7/S7e) or even the EOL (End Of Life) HydraRom (for the glorious N7) :good:
The Rom itself contains many many custom features via RomControl, I'll list the most important ones below, still you are very welcome to try them all via the RomControl app (choosable in aroma). Now enough talking, wish you much fun flashing the rom and hope you'll enjoy it! :fingers-crossed:

How to install the rom:
For advanced users:
0. Make sure to have a backup somewhere on external storage
1. Make sure to be on most recent TWRP, bootloader and modem
2. Flash the rom
3. If you need VoLTE or Wifi Calling, flash your correct carrier CSC
4. Done :highfive:
For normal users:
0. Boot your phone, enable OEM unlock in developer settings
1. Flash TWRP with Odin, following this thread Galaxy S7 TWRP until it works correctly (to access download mode, press home+volume down+power on while phone is turned off)
2. Make sure you are using most recent bootloader and modem, latest one available here on Android File Host
3. Now boot into TWRP by pressing home+volume up+power on while phone is turned off
4. If TWRP asks you about allowing system to be edited, swipe yes to confirm
5. In TWRP, go to wipe, format data (a keyboard will pop up now), type "yes" (this will wipe all your data, make sure to have a backup!)
6. After this, reboot recovery and start the rom installer
7. Select your preferences in my aroma installer
8. If you selected to auto update bootloader in aroma, the installer will reboot automatically
9. You can still install my CSC selection if you are customer of a carrier which is not supported by default CSC inside the rom
10. Wait till the rom boots up
11. After setting up, open IronControl Free and let the app apply my default settings!
12. Enjoy the rom!

Known Bugs:
- Iris scanner (if you know how to implement an iris scanner into a s7 let me know )
- face unlock by samsung, we have trusted face by google instead
- Back key light not working due to the fact, that the Note 8 and Galaxy S8 don't have hardware buttons anymore. We need to wait for a similar device as the S7 to get android 7.1.1 to fix it
- Knox related features such as secure folder, samsung pay or samsung pass may not work any longer after rooting your phone

Just as a small addition:
If you are using any 3rd party kernel (not the included IronKernel) you may want to ask your developer to include this wifi hotspot fix. Using 3rd party kernel will break the hotspot function!!
Please, again. If this issue happens it's not an issue with the rom BUT the kernel. I hope all devs will include it for n8 ports

All Kernel are inclued also bootloader and modem.

Because 3minit is an option in romcontrol. If we don't install it the systemui would constantly crash

3. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Make a FULL NANDROID BACKUP
2. Download Echoe Rom and make sure the md5 matches
3. Download the AT&T or T-Mobile kernel of your choice
4. You need to do a clean install!!! Wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, Wipe data/factory reset and Wipe System and then Install Zip (from either external or internal SD depending on where you chose to save the Rom)
5. The installation process takes between 3-5 minutes. Let it do its job Also the 1st boot also takes 3-5 minutes. I would also recommend that before the initial setup, you dont do anything to your phone for 5 minutes... Let it settle and then proceed with the initial setup... That's just my usual ritual with any Rom I flash
Note: Even if you are coming from a previous version of Echoe Rom, it is still STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that you do a full wipe before flashing!!
6. Flash the AT&T or T-Mobile Kernel of your choice.
7. Reboot and Enjoy
8. Once 1st setup is done, check your APN to make sure you have the AT&T LTE APN.

Don't want to steal friedrich420's thunder but if you use a file explorer such as ES File Explorer and go to system; build.prop; and edit all you have to do is change the model number from GT-I9505 to SGH-I337 and the ro.product.name=jfltexx to jflteatt and the
ro.product.device=jflte to jflteatt
Save the changes and reboot and you will have the device name as SGHI337 and the 4G lte symbols in the status bar will be a att symbols.

Do we need to flash both ota2 as well as ota3 from Halcyon quantum after flashing this rom or would flashing ota3 alone would suffice? Hello - Some of you may know me from my work on the Galaxy Note 1 AT&T, Galaxy S3 AT&T, and the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1. Usually my goal is to take Samsung's stock firmware and twist it into something a little more lively, but this ROM is a bit of an experiment. The point of Tesseract is to create a tinkerer-friendly version of Samsung's stock touchwiz that's also got a bit more on the surface - but it's also an experiment with opensource. I invite all of you to submit anything to this project that you think may be of value / use to yourself / others. While I can't guarantee your contribution will be added, all submissions will be looked at.
Huge thanks to @OvrDriVE for the original marshmallow sprint port.
Build.prop is set to the note 5 to make theme store work. If you like you can adjust it to reflect the note 4, but it will break theme store.

BUGS:
Stable version:
-Notification / media volume controls appear to be swapped. This doesn't impair function, only the label.
-Some stock Samsung apps appear slightly shrunken with a border. This is due to the changed DPI. If you'd rather the stock DPI type wm density 640 in terminal as root.
-Notifications on lock screen cover the clock. This is a result of the changed DPI. Same fix as above if you'd like stock DPI

Beta version:
-Currently doesn't work on anything besides the W8 unless you flash a MM kernel for your device. This isn't a bug so much as a lack of custom kernel; it'll be fixed when I release the kernel I'm working on.
-Currently doesn't work if you don't have a MM bootloader / modem (even with a custom kernel). Currently working on a fix.
-Some stock Samsung apps appear slightly shrunken due to changed DPI. Same fix as stable version.

Important notes for the current BETA build:
- If you're not on the N910W8, flash a MM kernel for your device after flashing this build to prevent bootloop. Depending on the kernel you use you might need to reflash superSU.
- This build will NOT work if you don't have a MM bootloader / modem for your device. (DPE2 or equivalent).
- This build is NOT COMPLETE. Do not flash if you don't know how to recover from a brick. I've also yet to add any discernible features from 1.5 and debloating isn't finished. I'm also working on a custom kernel to include with the final release of 1.6.
- Theme store may or may not be functional(though probably isn't). If you can't handle stock then flash the current stable version.

Xposed is a bit of wishful thinking at this point. I've combed over the source but I'm hardly an expert on ART.
On another note, should anyone wonder - as this ROM is based on an older overdrive release we have working pin / pattern.
Any suggestions for next release? Already have adaway lined up as well as the file command
I haven't checked touchwiz MM so I don't know but does this have the same features as other CM 13 Privacy features such as restricting access to data/wifi networks for specific apps?
Is the status bar icon/clock able to be customized? I like to move icons around or disable certain icons from showing as I find it unnecessary (I know when I have headphones plugged).

Yes on MM you can tweak the permissions on a per-app basis.

really like ovrdrive's ROMs and I need to have PIN password working which this one does.
Almost done work on V1.1, which will likely be up later today. This version brings the file command, adaway, and init.d support.

This ROM should have the note 5 weather app if I'm not mistaken (It's based on @OvrDriVE 's sprint note 5 6.0.1 port)
New build is up. This one brings init.d, adaway, and the file command. It also fixes the bug with openssh known_hosts / .ssh .
Just reuploaded the newest build. Boot problem from the first iteration should now be fixed.
Edit: the new build works, but init.d is still broken. I think I finally know what's wrong though, there'll be another hotfix tonight

I can see the phone using adb devices but can't get adb the phone to initiate the Restore using adb restore. Is ADB support included with this ROM? I've tried adb backup as well and it doesn't start the backup.
Clean install with v1.1, and android keyboard keeps crashing. Can't do anything requiring keyboard input.

I haven't touched adb in tesseract so it should be the same as the base ROM - perhaps inquire there?
Good to know on keyboard. I'll revert back to Sammy in the next build

Has marshmallow arrived yet for the n910w8 yet?
I am on 5.1.1 bootloader with a custom rom right now.
I checked Sammobile and i didnt see any new update.
Can i install your rom even if im on the 5.1.1 COK3 bootloader?
If yes, What kernel would you recomend I use ?

This ROM will work just fine on the N910W8 as long as you've got the newest bootloader / baseband for your model. I have the Canadian variant myself actually, telus

HOW-TO Install the rom:
0. Make sure you have ticked OEM Unlock in Developer settings!
1. Download latest bootloader and modem from here:
Bootloader/Modem
2. Download latest odin
3. Flash BL in BL tab and CP in CP tab of odin. Then follow the steps on this side until you get a working custom recovery: TWRP
4. If you are done with bootloader, modem and recovery we can move on, boot into twrp holding power, home button and volume up while phone is powered off
5. This will delete all your personal data! Click on wipe, format data and type "yes"
6. Wait until it is finished then click reboot, reboot to recovery
7. Now connect your phone to PC and copy the rom file inside your internal or external sd card
8. Flash the rom and wait until it is finished
9. Reboot your phone and enjoy !
10. During initial setup, do not enable private folder (because it does not work yet) and will get an encryption error if enabled!

How to install the rom:
For advanced users:
0. Make sure to have a backup somewhere on external storage
1. Make sure to be on most recent TWRP, bootloader and modem
2. Flash the rom
3. If you need VoLTE or Wifi Calling, flash your correct carrier CSC
4. Done
For normal users:
0. Boot your phone, enable OEM unlock in developer settings
1. Flash TWRP with Odin (if you don't have odin, download it here), following this thread S8/S8+ TWRP until it works correctly (to access download mode, press bixby+volume down+power on while phone is turned off)
2. Make sure you are using most recent bootloader and modem, latest one available here on Android File Host
3. Now boot into TWRP by pressing bixby+volume up+power on while phone is turned off
4. If TWRP asks you about allowing system to be edited, swipe yes to confirm
5. In TWRP, go to wipe, format data (a keyboard will pop up now), type "yes" (this will wipe all your data, make sure to have a backup!)
6. After this, reboot recovery and start the rom installer
7. Select your preferences in my aroma installer
8. If you selected to auto update bootloader in aroma, the installer will reboot automatically
9. You can still install my CSC selection if you are customer of a carrier which is not supported by default CSC inside the rom
10. Wait till the rom boots up
11. After setting up, open BatMan Settings Free and let the app apply my default settings!
12. Enjoy the rom!

Is the random reboots present on this rom? The issue was never fixed on the batstock rom even with the mcregistry fix

Random reboots where caused by flashing no verity opt zip. It corrupts the data partition somehow. Without there was never a problem.
To fix: wipe, format data, type 'yes'

Yes but only in english (usa) and german lenguages.

I can't remember in which languages I've added it, but since it would be in over 150 files I think I've added it in most used as french, italy, german and english, but I'm not 100% sure anymore

That's planned as well yes, but not top priority
I cannot use flashlight with hardware keys with samsung case. Without works well. I don't know if it fixable or not...
