External microphone - ZTE Axon 7 Accessories

Has anyone tried connecting an external mic for recording? I'm going to buy one with a 3.5mm plug and I'm wondering what sort of adapter I will also need.

I use this and it works well. It comes with an adapter and I tried with and without it. The Axon does require the adapter to use this Mic.

Mini USB to 3.5mm audio ???

I have just got delivery of my Asus P320 Windows smartphone. But unfortunatly i have discovered that there is no 3.5 mm or 2.5 mm headphone jack on it. I am wondering if there are any 5pin Mini USB to 3.5mm or 2.5mm headphone adapters, If not, is there anything i could use with windows mobile 6.1 to get music through bluetooth to a small module which I could connect a 3.5mm headphone jeack to. Thanks for your help.
yes their is a usb to headphone jack you can buy
.... never seen a small module but you can stream your bluetooth to a bluetooth headset
Yeah I already have an expensive set of New sennheiser headphones which i do not plan to replace. they are wired so If i was to go the bluetooth route it would be to get a small module which I can connect a 3.5mm audio plug into to convert it to bluetooth signals to my phone.
But you say You have seen 5pin Mini USB adapters, Any Idea where you saw them and where i can get it from,,,, specifically?

I am using this one
Works great! Just plug in any 3.5mm headset and you even have call handling and mic on it!
hi,is there anything like that ,that would work on iPAQ 614c?
miniUSB dont carry audio
it's like normal usb a serial digital data transfer std.
thats why htc have extUSB which is miniUSB with analog audio in the extre wires
pc headsets or speakers which use usb are really external audiocards which transfer the
digital data into analog sound
as far as I know no device can use en external audiocard unless it support usbHost which pretty few wmobiles seem to do
ok,thanks, then i'll have to keep on "enjoying" the music with headphones i got with device heh

Happy hunting.
HI I have the same problem. I have an I-mate Ultimate 8150, I bought it used and when I opend the box I realised that the were no head set or charger.
I'm seeking the polish internet for a adapter 11 pin miniusb - jack 3.5 with no results. I bought an adapter for motorola v3 and it isn't working just like a head set for motorola K1 on miniusb.
I-mate 8150 is very similar to XDA Flame and I think that in those models the sound pins are different do the in the HTC models.
I am looking for some 11 pin miniusb schema (the socket is also used to charge and comunicate with computer).
I've seen an adapter on http://www.imatephonestore.com/accessoryDetail.asp?accMDL=AUDIO_CONVRTR
but i think that the price is too high for such a thing.
Maybe some one knew how to make this adapter or how to remake the motorola k1 headset to work on I-mate 8150
Plaese help me I don't now what else to do thanks
get 11 pin to 3.5 mm
even iam using htc
nd in htc we also have 11 pin jack
i saw one very good converter on :- http://www.amazon.com/Touch-3-5mm-S...tionId=1XM1P73VXKBX6ZQPKN02/mixi-20/ref=nosim
however instead of buying that wt i did i bought a erricsson bluetooth enabled headphones they are cool nd free from entangles nd best part is that even my bluetooth have 3.5 mm jack so i can connect with my car.
Well I bought 2 of 11 pin to 3.5 mm headset adaptor convertor for HTC. Though both are working same but little difference make them very unique. First one is Stereo Converter 11pins to 3.5mm adaptor which simply let me to use my Blackberry curve headset with G1. Other one is cool coz it comes with microphone as well answer switch. I am now using my 3.5 mm headset with G1 and also talking and answering from the same headset converter. Its really cool check this our http://www.fommy.com/accessories.as...obile+G1&cat=Headsets&subCat=Headset+Adapters
Cool I just order one for me the Streo headset adaptor with microphone and answer switch. Along with this I also got 3 in 1 USB adaptor. This one comes with 3 ports to connect 3.5 mm headset jack, 11pins to 11pins HTC adapter and USB connected that can be use to sync or charge G1
11pin is no good, Im looking for the 5pin usb which is on the Asus P320, are there any atall, I have already tried buying a motorola one which has the right connectors but does not transmit any sound.
I have the same phone and looking for the same converter
r there any converters specially available for this phone out yet?
I have AKG's and so youre telling me I cant use them even If I get the USB to audio jack adapter? Also In our store this guy connects his phone to the stereo system in the store with a mini audio (banana plug I think) to the system and plays his music of his phone..can the TYTNII do the same?
BTW, even if I could use the AKG headphones it probably would sound so loud as these are high ohms headphones AKG 240MKII..right? any cheap micro sized headphone amps around?
The mini USB port in asus p320 is actually a 10 pin port (5 on top and 5 on bottom). out of them 5 pins are used for audio and microphone. And others are for USB. Hope this information will be useful for searching 10 pin mini USB to 3.5 mm audio.
I've been using this for my xv6900. It works great.

Convert wired bluetooth headset to car kit

I'm hoping someone more technical than me will be able to help.
I've added an adapter to my car stereo that basically adds an auxiliary input. I plug my Fuze into the auxiliary input using the adapter that came with the Fuze, and listen to mp3's through the car stereo. This works well, but I don't really like having the adapter and cable always hanging from the phone.
I have a wired bluethooth headset that I don't use, similar to this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875982140
So it's basically a bluetooth dongle with earbuds and a mic wired to it. I was wondering if I clip off the earbuds, and splice those wires into a cable with a headphone jack, then plug the jack into the auxiliary input, will this work for playing music over bluetooth throught the car stereo?
Yep, this works! But depending on the BT-profile you will get bad audio quality with mono-sound...
I guess you get better sound if using bluetooth-stereo headphones. They should have the A2DP-profile!

HTCext to 3.5mm audio adapter mic problem

Hi!
I have this for some time: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938811&pf_rd_i=507846
(Actually, I baught it in a store so I'm not sure it's excatly the same but it looks the same)
Recently, I baught this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Headphone-HTC-VIVA-exclusive-Duragadget/dp/B001LIM8F0/ref=pd_rhf_p_t_2
When I plug the old one in my HTC Touch Cruise and then stereo headphones, to it's 3.5mm jack (without microphone), I can use phone's mic and plugged headphones to talk.
When I do the same with new one I can't use phone's mic. I can hear the other side through headphones but I can't be heard.
What might be a reason for this?
And can I fix this problem somehow so I don't have to unplug headphones each time I want to talk if I'm listening to the music?
Thank you very much in advance!
P.S. FM Radio works with both adapters.
there is no std for 3.5mm mini-jack with mic included
the org spc is only audio out
some headset makers add another ring which don't interfere with the
left, right and ground connectors
but there is no std they can follow
thumb rule is if mic is not mentioned in relation with the 3.5mm adaptor
mic is not supported as they use the pure audio out mini-jack std
thumb rule 2 is if mic is mentioned but it's not the same manufactures
in both end they may not implement mic in 3.5mm the same way and it will
only work with audio out
Thank you for your quick answer but I'm not sure you understood me.
I do not use external mic.
In first case I use 3in1 adapter and my stereo headphone with 3.5mm connector without microphone.
In second case I use this simple in-line adapter and same headphones.
In first case, during call, I can hear the other side through headphones, and the other side hears me through built-in-phone microphone.
In second case, during call, I can hear the other side through headphones, but other side can't hear me.
In both cases FM radio works well. I mention this because I saw that mic and FM antenna are on the same pin in USBext (if that's important since I don't use external mic)
about fm then all it needs is an antenna connected to to it
any stereo maybe even mono connected with a wire will do
heck you can cut off the airplugs from a cable and use it for fm
normaly when one connects a headset speaker and mic on the device itself
are muted
even if it's a headset without mic so cool that your fist case works at all
This first one adapter is original HTC. It has 2.5mm, 3.5mm, USBext for data and charging and USBext for headset connectors. And unfortunately it is too big for any other use except in car (to connect to car's audio aux input) or at home (to connect to home AV reciever).
So I baught this cheap simple in-line adapter. And it is suprisingly well built. And it works great as stereo adapter. Only problem is that it turns of microphone.
Anyhow I did some additional testing.
I tried SE Xperia X1 since it has built in 3.5mm connector. and it works like this first one. That means microphone works.
I also tried plugging this first adapter into my touch cruise and then plugging this second adapter into it's USBext for headset. The result is the same as if I plug second adapter directly into touch cruise. Microphone doesn't work.
Interesting thing is that in all cases (including Xperia) when I listen to the music with external headphones soudn comes only out of them. But when phone starts ringing sound comes from both headphones and from built-in-phone external speaker.
!!! Maybe the most important thing is that microphone doesn't work even if only second adapter is plugged into the phone, without headphones plugged in it.
Obviously this second non-HTC adapter doesn't work as HTC originally planned that kind of adapter to work and now I need a way to fix this.
It seems to me that this adapter is maybe stereo adapter with mic, but I don't have that kind of headset to try it. And if I had it I'm not sure it would be the right one since there's no standard for them.
As I see it when I plug in adapter phone somehow detects it and changes some registry key which mutes microphone.
Does anybody know what to change in registry so that phone doesn't mute microphone?
Or how can I see what changes in registry when I plug in the adapter?
Do you think if I manage to fix this, will that affect bluetooth headset also?
Thank you very much for any help!

[Q] stero mic?

There's the microusb port. Can that support (or does the headphone/mic jack support) connecting an external stero mic to record better quality music than the onboard mono of the mytouch 4g?
I've search around and found some chinese stuff that's iffy, and I don't know if it will work. I'm looking for a solid solution to some real solid stereo recording of acoustic music. I've got a 3.5mm mic that works when plugged into mic jack of my laptop, it worked with an old AIWA "walkman" I had with an external mic jack. The head phone jack of the MT4G is also 3.5mm. ?
Thanks

Hmm, good question. I'm a musician too, that would be sweet for mobile recording.
This might be a bit obvious, but since you've already got a 3.5mm mic, why don't you plug it in and try?

From what I understand, the Mytouch 4G uses a standard microUSB port that only charges/connects the device. Thus, barring some kind of circuitry miracle, the MT4G cannot record audio from the microUSB port.
Unfortunately, the device will only record mono from the 3.5mm input. Even if you did use a stereo mic, I believe that the MT4G will only record from one channel. Like Sunsean suggested, test it out with the mic you have. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
five hundred bucks for mono mic in.
sigh.
i'll try but looks like it's a nonstarter.
thanks guys.

[Q]3.5mm headphone jack 90 degrees adapter + inline remote

Hello,
Does anyone have experience with a 90degrees adapter for the headphone jack? My headsets plug is straight, but it was too expensive to switch to another one.
All adapters I found online have 4 pins in and 3 pins out. Are there other ones or does the inline remote work with this kind of adapters?

Didn't your arc's headset come with an L-shaped plug?
Iam having a good headset with a straight plug which i don't want to miss..
