Camcorder crash

Camcorder crash. Every time I try to record the camera app crashes..
I've tried a lot of roms. Aokp, cm9,bugless beasts and more
Can someone please help me?

Hi there,
i have the same problem:
Everytime i try to start video-mode, the app crashes.
When i open and close the app a few times, the cam crashes, too.
Switching from back to front cam sometimes fails, the back cam is active again (after some freeze-time).
Everything worked fine with 4.0.3 stock (open bootloader,root and cwm with GNToolKit).
The problem occurred with the update to 4.0.4. stock (IMM76D & IMM76I)
(I had to do a full wipe, cause i encrypted the phone and cwm could not load the updatefile from encrypted sdcard).
So what i've tried till now:
- clear app cache and data
- extracted camera .apk and .odex from stock 4.0.3 and moved it to /system/app but that didn't work
- Tried other cam-apps (crash)
- installed open bootloader and rooted again (GNToolKit)
- removed flashlight app
- wipe cache /dalvik cache
I don't know, what i should try next, so please help me

P.S. Since 4.0.4. all taken photos have a yellow spot. Maybe i should go back to 4.0.3.....

Update:
Wiped all and then installed 4.0.2 stock. Everything worked fine with the cam.
Updated OTA to 4.0.4 and now it's the same again... cam crashes if i want to take a video.

Update:
What helped? I got a new one, now everything works fine.

I did go back to stock then it began to work, now it works with any rom again

i tried all variants.
Bit strange, that cam worked with 4.0.2 but not with 4.0.4.
Maybe they changed cam-api or something.
With my new gNex, cam works fine

The problem I had wasn't that the camera/video didn't work but that it couldn't save to SD . It had something to do with the permissions and the videocam crashed when I switched . The camera couldt save pictures
P.S I locked my bootloader and then opened it when I did the factory restore
Try to go back to factory a couple of times
Do u have the thumbnail in camera app?
Mine was missing..
I played a lot with the tablet mod, maybe its have something to do with it or maybe because I flashed a lot of roms. I have never seen this before.. it was kind of weird

I flashed stock rom, and i think it overwrote all permissions set before.
I locked bootloader, unrooted phone, unlocked it again, then locked it again.. several times. Nothing changed.
My new gNex came with an open bootloader, i was wondering...
The bootloader is still opened and i am root again
I think i had a hardware problem. with 4.0.4. all images i took, had a yellow spot in it. I had thumbnails, too.

maybe you were just unlucky and got a gnex with errors. Was just glad I did't have a hardware failure. I went from 4.0.2 stock ROM to a 4.0.3 costume rom. It then worked fine! when I later upgraded to 4.0.4 costume rom it went wrong . isn't the bootloader always locked? by default?

Yes, bootloader is locked by default. I don't know what they did before with this gNex.
Maybe it's not a new gNex, but one, who came back from a user, who didn't want it.
The main point is, it works

Hello Guys,
When I used JellyTime r30, my camera has broken when i try turn on i get messenge "Camera Error. Can't connect to the camera". I try flash another rom like PacMan, Viper or Stock Rooted Rom and nothing . Before camera worked perfect. Zoom Fx Camera doesn't work too...
Have you any ideas?

Plz make sure u wipe data, cache and dalvik before flashing another ROM.

I have done full wipe, wipe data, dalvik.... Camera doesn't work
Maybe this is a problem with hardware or hardware's firmewire

The above code works on Samsung phone only (I think). Don't know HTC procedure to update the camera, sorry

Camera problem with 4.2.2 Roms

My camera says "cant connect to camera" when I clean install any 4.2.2 ROM. I can get it working again by flashing clean ROM or any 4.1.2 ROM. Have tried everything I can think of cleared camera data and catch, tried third party cameras. Can someone help me out.

I can always get a third party camera to work, if nothing else, not sure why you can't . I'll use "Camera Zoom FX"
The stock camera is working fine on the new PAC-Man rom (for me, anyway)

Just tried it said failed to connect error code 1. Tried snap camera also...its driving me crazy cannot figure out why its happening. Tried 3 different ROMS and always the same. I did install the dual booting kernel and I'm wondering if that screwed something up. Damn phone got me all rattled on fathers day.

Was happening to me too. Usually a reboot and cache and davlik usually cleared it up. Idk about ur scenario tho. Maybe a reflash of gapps?

Ya I did flash different Gapps even tried team blackouts gapps. Wiped fix permissions on each Rom. I am stumped.

Happens to me randomly. Reboot fixes it. I'm on the latest CM nightly. When I tried SlimBean first boot it didn't work and chalked it up to a bad rom. Who knows now?

OnePlus 5t camera issue

Hey I recently bought the OnePlus 5t and it was working fine,but now the camera app crashes and the back camera just shows a blank screen,I am able to use my front cam via third party apps,but back camera is completely not working.does anybody else face same problems and is there a solution? ( PS: I already cleared cache of camera app,wiped cache by pressing volume down and power button,used safe mode and also did a factory reset and it's still not working)

I am facing the same issue, I tried the same things you did. I did see on one plus forums that rooting the OS fixed the problem but I don't want to do that

Try to re flash stock (latest) Oxygen OS if that wont help probably you have faulty device.

Any solution? I have the same issue and I wouldn't like to buy a new one

HTC 10 camera and flash doesn't work

Hi everyone,
I have an HTC 10 "Japanese variant" that did broke recently I did fix it but I forgot the password so I did a factory reset of the phone which is in Android 8.0.
After the reset everything works fine besides the camera and the flashlight which are inaccessible.
When I enter the flashlight app it just keeps loading and it's greyed out in the notification bar so I can't activate it nor tap it.
While the camera displayed once "unable to start camera" after that I just keep clicking the app and nothing happens, When I enter the selfie of the back camera it shows a report that I can choose to send or not to HTC.
I did check the connector of the cameras they're intact and also the camera.
I tried wiping cache, wiping data, wiping cache partition, factory reset nothing worked out.
I'm currently on 3.22.970.9, unlocked bootloader, S-ON and not living in japan but using stock firmware of the phone.
I would love to get some help with that problem it's kind of strange that both the front and back camera aren't working and the flashlight which is located in the motherboard.
