Yes, you can use andromeda.
There's plenty of guides if you google for it

Andromeda kind of sucks, especially if you are used to using Substratum with root. Using the non-root Andromeda method you can't even open the Substratum app on your phone unless it's connected to your computer. Sometimes when an app updates in the Play Store the theme overlay will cause the app to crash. When that happens you have to remove and then reinstall the overlay--which cannot be done using the non-root method until you can connect your phone to your computer. The affected app can't be used until then because you can't open Substratum to disable the overlay.

Strongly agree with you. BUT we should appreciate developers (Ozone, Andromeda and Substratum ) to make it 90% possible for non-rooted phones. Its not a small work... [And that's why its paid and it will be]

When using Substratum rooted or not, ALWAYS and i say ALWAYS disable auto updating apps in the Play Store. You can manually update all your apps when a update for the theme you are using gets pushed. That way all your apps will always be themed without issues, crashes etc. Ofc using Andromeda isn't ideal, but if you want to be unrooted behind a locked bootloader, that is your best option. Maybe Google will do something for Android P to not eliminate the need for connecting to a pc. Another good tip for using Andromeda is if you reboot remember to fire up the desktop client and enable Substratum.

ADT Pulse App - anyone get it to run on unlocked, rooted device?

So - this is more of a curiousity for me vs. something urgent at this point. As some of you may know, similar to Netflix and other apps, ADT Pulse (mobile app to control home security system) released an updated version this past spring that prevents the app from even fully loading on "modified" Android devices. I assumed that this was just the common SafetyNet api implementation. I've been running an older version, disconnected from the Playstore to avoid updates since then to work around the issue.
Recently, I installed the latest SuperSu / SBIN mode and the latest suhide1.08. I am running unlocked bootloader, rooted, but essentially stock. With the wonder of suhide, I am actually able to fully pass SafetyNet checks (verified via SafetyNet helper) and Android Pay even works (at least to add CC cards - haven't tried actual payment yet). However, this ADT Pulse app still refuses to load - displaying the message that it won't run on modified android devices. I am really curious what additional checks (beyond SafetyNet) this app could possibly be running. More interested with an eye to the future and mitigating these kind of app updates going forward. I have tried hiding root explicitly from ADT Pulse and hiding SuperSU and suhide from within suhide...but nothing seems to work. I even tried booting a stock, patched kernel that masks the unlocked bootloader. Still no luck.
Anyone have any experience with this and ideas?
Thanks,
S
Did you do the volume up/volume down 3 times to actually hide SuperSU and suhide from the other apps?

I hadn't...I just tried it with the latest Pulse app and now the damn thing loads. I guess I didn't understand suhide fully. I thought when the "eye" icon was next to SuperSu and suhide within suhide app, that meant those apps were hidden from other apps. I guess you need to toggle the volume rocker 3 times to activate that hiding functionality? is that correct?
In any case - much appreciated!
S
That is correct.
Anyone having any trouble hiding ADT with Magisk? Im also passing safetynet checks and can run Android pay and Pokemon go without issue, but ADT Pulse is giving me one hell of a time.

Had no issues earlier. Adt just updated to 8.0.9 and now it's back to the same message.
Reverted back to 8.0.6, magisk hide working.

Are all your other apps that use safety net passing?
Did you hide the Manager app itself?

substratum being annoying!

Guys how do I fix this? I open up substratum and it keeps giving me this message saying I'm on a compatible oreo device so I should get Andromeda.... But the thimg is I went and bought Andromeda app and then that doesn't let me change themes from my device either I'm rooted so I don't see the problem why won't substratum let me use it? It used to work even on Oreo! I'll post a pic to show

Fixed the issue. I lost root due to ota and even after getting root back it wasn't working but then it's because substratum was checked in magisk hide and also you have to uninstall Sun and then reboot then re download and it should ask you for root permission and it should work

Themes not applying when using rootless substratum.

DISCLAIMER: I'm new to Android and I have no idea of some tech android stuff (e.g. ADB etc) please do dumb down your answer for me. thanks
I just paid for Andromeda and and then did the process that you do on the laptop. I downloaded ozone substratum theme and selected all the overlays (I think that's what they're called?). I clicked on build and enable option and the phone did its thing. after it was completed, substratum said to reboot the device to make the theme to show up. I reboot the phone but nothing has changed and I mean literally nothing. I used ozone because I was told it is 100% compatible with oxygenOS. I don't know what to do now. I did try some other themes but still had no success. I'm using OnePlus 5t on oreo beta 12. sometimes when the phone is downloading the overlays, it says 'substratum could not connect to the andromeda backend' and then gets stuck. everytime this happens I just force close the substratum app and try again and then it starts working. thanks for your help.

When you reboot your device, andromeda loses connection and you will need to run the PC commands again.

Yh I know that. After I reboot the device nothing changed. So one of the many things I did was to run the PC commands again to see if it had worked. However nothing changed.
Go to Manager and make sure that all applied themes are enabled. then reboot.

Substratum

has anyone gotten substratum to work? i can not get it to work with andromeda installed also (rootless). it starts up but it says it is not connected with andromeda even though andromeda says it is connected. and even when i unplug it from the pc andromeda continues to say it is connected. heh.
Pie only allows Substratum to run on rooted devices even with Andromeda so well have to wait for root,,,hopefully soon.

Question Disable OxygenOS Update Notification

Yo!
I was wondering if anyone was familiar with a way to permanently disable the OxygenOS System Update notification from appearing. See the attached image.
On one of my previous phones you could disable this through Titanium Backup, does anyone know what the proper app to freeze is?
Thanks
Disable the System Update application using ADB. You can use this tool.
Or just disable the System Update app via TB since you already have it installed. Beats plugging the phone into pc to use adb lol.
If you have root, try this app
Notifications Off [Root] - Apps on Google Play
Get rid of Pesky Notifications!
play.google.com
I personally use this to disable System update notification for OOS 12 on my OOS 11 install

Strangely, disabling that app (pictured last in the TB screenshot) has not stopped them.

Can you help in where to locate the system updater using this tool?
Thanks in advance
I simply turned off automatic system update in the dev settings.
as well as in the system update itself on the three dots and there on download automatically (have the eu model with eu firmware) and get no update message

Can't disable system updates from the 3 dots as mine is a forced downgrade package from that horrible Android 12

Just a quick update. Tried the disabling the system update via dev option and it didn't work. In fact it got more persistent in update notifications. Have downloaded and installed the ADB App Tool. Disabled the 'system update' with the settings tool icon (there's another same name with android icon) though and now monitoring. Do have to admit that the ADB Tool is excellent and installs all the necessary drivers and icons w/o the need for separate download
