What is magazine unlock? - Honor 7X Questions & Answers

When changing EMUI themes, I always get a little pop up at the bottom of the screen that says something about "keeping magazine unlock" on the lockscreen. Does anyone know what it does? I always enable it, but what does it do?

It's talking about the locksceen background/theme. How it changes backgrounds everytime you lock your phone and how it looks. You can get different themes to change it. (At least I think that's what it is)

PIN lock would prevent an honest person from returning my phone! Solutions?

Is there a way to add text to either the slide or the PIN lock screen? Basically I want to add a note saying "If found call (xxx)xxx-xxxx" I want the security of the PIN lock but if I lose my phone and an honest person finds it they'll have no way to contact me to return it.
I'm using Warm 2.2.
I tried Widget Locker but its too clunky with the PIN unlock. The banner hex-edit method doesn't have enough space. I'm considering just adding text to the picture I use as wallpaper but then it would look weird when I was actually using the phone. And there is no way I'm giving up my transparent clock for an opaque one to hide it! It would also show up on other home screens. I've returned many a phone I've found on the street and it'd be almost impossible with a PIN locked phone.
Thoughts?

On some ROMs it's possible to use a different background for the lock screen, you could try adding that in or seeing if Myn would be willing to do it.
WaveSecure can place a screen above your lockscreen. it does cost money, but that was the only solution i found when i was looking. perhaps Gingerbread will be of help when it hits.
you can look into Tasker. it may have an SMS based alert solution you could implement.
CyanogenMod has this feature built-in. You can put custom text on your lock screen.
CM: 9,001. Sense: Still zero.

(REQ) Altering of TouchWiz Lock screen

So I like the TouchWiz lock screen, how when I have an unread text, I can slide down and it goes to it.
My issue is sliding up to unlock, my hand isnt that big so its a stretch to get to the top of the screen. Is there any way to alter it so I can slide left and right instead of up and down. I like the Vanilla Froyo lock screen, but could care less about being able to slide right for vibrate. Maybe there is a way to remove that and add slide right for SMS inbox or unread SMS?
Assuming I understand your request, Widgetlocker does this. It's not free, I think it's like two bucks or something. Definitely worth it.
Widgetlocker gives you a new lockscreen that you can use instead of, or in conjunction with the android lockscreen. You can make custom sliders for it that do whatever you want them to or even get rid of the sliders altogether. You can also put homescreen widgets on your lockscreen.
It's awfully cool.
I was reading about it, just was hoping it was simple to write something or change a value from vertical to horizontal or something like that.
Basically I want the stock samsung lock screen just sliding left and right
Look in. the aosp lock screen thread for dk28, the post by raiderep is the final version, the o under two have minor issues

[Q] screen lock

Hi,
Is there a way to make a personal screen lock.
I'd like to have a screen lock like this
Thanks in advance
Sorry for my english
Get WidgetLocker...it allows you to add widgets to your lockscreen. It also allows you to change the way you "unlock" the phone (example, instead of "slide down to unlock", you can make it like the iPhone [slide your finger to the side to unlock])
I'll try it right now! Thanks for the fast reply ;-)
There are also some other apps to change the lock screen - try searching appbrain or market for "Lock".
The app "Lock 2.0" from Android Apps (filed in Appbrain under Entertainment) allows you to replace the lock screen with a custome one - I personally didnt like it too much, but I think that's what you wanted...

[Q] Lockscreen + Security Screen = Bad Design!

Dear Sirs,
Here's something which, as far as I can see, hasn't been addressed by any ROM:
WHY are the lockscreen and security screen two separate things in Android?
Okay, hear me out.
You're a security-conscious chap, so you want to protect your phone with a pin number / password / pattern. So you set it up. BUT! You hit the screen-on button, and the lockscreen comes up. You swipe to open the lockscreen, and only then does the security screen come up, with its prompt asking for a pin or whatever. So you enter that, and then finally you can get into your phone, after an assortment of keystrokes, rendered all the more annoying by the extraneous lockscreen. What's the point?
Having a security screen, under these conditions, renders the lockscreen completely extraneous, and it is 'design inefficient'.
Why (oh why) is there not an option to remove the lockscreen and have just the security prompt screen? This would appear to be a extremely simple and logical feature to offer.
I hate to bring up iOS (which I hate), but with iOS the security screen is the lockscreen. And additionally, once you've entered your pin, iOS will open up without you having to press "OK"!
It just seems like this is an area where Android isn't at all well thought out. Is there anything that can be done about this?
There are apps that can do this (No lock, alot of others), and CM7 has that feature built into it.
I'm sorry to say that they do not.
All the apps that do this, including 'No lock', remove the lockscreen along with everything else, so any security is also removed.
Where in CM7 is the option to switch off lockscreen but retain the security screen?
Hey 314, good call on CM! 'Disable lockscreen on security' is exactly what I'm talking about.
Now, if only all the other ROMs could provide that, we'd be cooking.
Next: to remove the need for the ridiculous 'OK' following pin entry!

[Q] Is there a way to lock" the home screen icons?

Is there a way to lock the home screen and other screen icons so I don't inadvertently drag them from one screen to another and then have to find them and drag them back? Maybe it's me, but I've never had this problem--at least not to this extent--with any other phone, but with this one it seems like a few times a day the icons that should be on my home screen are somewhere else and I have to go looking for them and bring them back. Is there an operating system trick to lock these a little better, so that I'd have to unlock them to move or replace them? If it can't be done via the OS, is there a simple app that could accomplish the same thing? I'm not looking for an app that let's me do all sort of customization or skinning or whatever it's called. I just want to put my shortcuts where I want them and have something that would help me leave them there.
Thanks!
