It works, but you need a backup from someone with the system image and version in it.
I have an Al-10 with L21 software, I'm worried about updates though

I have a Euro Version, but there is no Full Firmware Package for euro and Usa Version, only Ota Updates.
At the Moment you can not converted the Chinese to another Version.
Maybe via Twrp Backup is not sure though.
The Chinese Version has already received 5 or 6 full updates.
I will converted my L21C Euro Version in AL10 Chinese Version, but nobody has the oeminfo uploaded
I have a Honor Note 8 AL10 Chinese Version I prefer it so much,more settings,hide the Navbar.
I debloated the Phone and all is good. Many china apps can you uninstall and with root can delete moreunnecessary apps. But nothing changes on the LTE Bands.

Proper conversion to another version works only with the oeminfo,so you also get updates

thanks alot guys! can you send me some pointers? i'm going to order one from taobao and want to flash a proper international rom like l21 instead of sideloading google play store, thx!!!

i used the AL-10 ROM with a backup of the cust.img i made beforehand and it works. As explained in the unbrick thread.

Why?

Many People had Problems with the Software from L24 or L21. Delete apps in System or bricked Phones.
We need a Full Firmware Package for L21, L24. Wait for this

ok so it isn't that something inherently impossible but lack of full rom package, right?
btw, i read about something flashin oeminfo to completely modify the phone (of other huawei model) to enable ota updates after changing firmware, is that necessary?
thx!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your package shows that its BLN-AL10
But the EMUI says that BLL-L22
Have u flashed wrong ROM previously?
Or anyone gave you flashed mobile
Or anyone gave you a different box (Check whether the IMEI in box and in the EMUI screenshot is same)
As per the software, you are having BLL-L22
So you can't go with any of the BLN OTA updates.
Note: Also Don't try with BLN-L22. Yours is BLL
The phone is new. I received it yesterday by DHL.
but the seal was broken
Have nothing done with it. It came from a great Ebay dealer (item number 332100647559)

EDIT: I found a lot of updates on this site by searching "BLL-L22C636" http://hwmt.ru/oth/HWFF/info/view.php
EDIT2: Update to BLL-L22C636B150 works.

[Download] G5 Plus March Security Update for Retail Channels

Hey everyone,
You can download the March security update for G5 Plus (Retail channel only) from here
Side-load it through ADB.
(Note: This has been tested on Indian retail variant. It may/may not work on other retail variants - proceed at your own risk)
New build number is NPNS25.137-92-8
My RETIN device hasn't received the OTA yet. Is it rolling out now?

You may edit the title to something like "G5 Plus March Security Updates for Indian Retail Devices" as some users still don't know that it's a different firmware than for reteu/retus devices (those are ending on 93) and flashing this one could cause problems or at least take the opportunity to receive future OTA's.
Just a hint, no insinuation in any way, it's great that people like you share their firmware.

I don't see any problem with that, since it's a retail variant and there's no radio (carrier) dependency. Since all Moto G5 Plus retail variants are identical (except for no. of SIMs), there shouldn't any issue generally.
Can we just install it through TWRP ?
Bcoz i had hard bricked my moto g5 plus and use albus blank flash and i got like Moto z play bootloader and finally now its running by losing voLTE and Google pixel experience with 3g ...
So i am just wondering if i can flash it through twrp and then i get moto g5 plus boot loader back then i again flash a latest version firmware...

If you take a look here: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/potter/official/RETAIL/
you'll see retail variants ending on 92 (+something) and on 83/93(+something). Both are retail firmwares and I think you can flash a 92 on a european or us device but as you change into the retin channel you won't receive regular OTA anymore. Motorola/Lenovo makes it hard to differ between the firmwares and I will try to find a stable source for that. I'm from Germany and I'm rooted so I don't take OTA's at the moment but friends of mine have received the march security patch and they are on a build called NPNS25.137-93-4.

No, after using albus blank flash you can't flash regular firmware anymore. You have to use a TWRP flashable version or any custom ROM.

Yes, you´re right, I mixed it up. 93-4 was for january I believe? But it´s 93-x for RETUS/RETEU, not 92-x., that´s what I wanted to point out.

I think i read somewhere in other threads that we can do it once oreo roles out .... so that we can pull away the new boot loader and push it to the hard bricked phones then we can normally get back the Moto g5 plus with official Oreo with OEM locking...

I can't tell you. I'm not sure if Lenovo comes out with Oreo at all, it's been a long time of waiting now.
I think you are able to try it at once when you can grab a firmware with bl but maybe you'll have to wait until TWRP flashable builds are available or the kernel sources are released and some clever Dev can pick the needed files.
You can just wait and hope.

c636 vs c432 Firmware

I see that the European c432 firmware number is 9.0.0.132, while the Asia/Pacific global c636 is 9.0.0.127. Does this mean the European version has more up-to-date firmware than the Asia/Pacific global version?
China Version is 9.0.0.158
9.0.0.166 now
I've never had a reason too...but is there an easier way to switch between these sub-levels than it is to rebrand all together. Like goto this C432 from C636 without a some special effort like it is to go from AL00 to L29? Or is it basically just as locked up and needing special hack and tools as the full rebrand? It seems HiBoard stays on the Asian models...but you get google cards stuff with left swipe maybe on these Euro ROMs. So wouldn't mind swapping for that.

I am not rooting or doing any customizing to my Huawei Mate 20 X EVR-L29, I am keeping this the way it is stock so Google pay & assistant & everything runs properly.
I have a rooted Huawei Honor Note 8 & a rooted Huawei Honor Note 10 so I didn't need to root or customize this device.

A505G model, can I flash A505F firmware?

My A50 Version is the Latin America, non-nfc version. It seems to be a little slower in receiving updates as the A505F model so I was wondering if I can just flash the later firmware on mine? Both models are non NFC.

hey, so I tried to flash the A505G firmware today using ODIN but it keeps hanging while trying to flash it.
Where are you getting stuck? I believe to flash alternative firmware than the device came with, you need an unlocked bootloader. Is your bootloader unlocked? i was able to flash a505gn on my a505g, but my bootloader was unlocked.

Bootloader status has nothing to do with Odin flashing. You can literally flash any stock images through Odin on locked BL provided they are for the same model. Flashing a different model firmware is just asking for troubles.

Well I have seen other flash different models to get faster updates. The A505G receives updates almost 1 month behind the A505F, even though the phones are almost identical hardware wise.

Since my Device model is A705MN and has no update until now, can I flash the A705FN stock firmeare to my A705MN device? Please enlighten me. Thanks in advance!
You can flash, but many firmware have region-specific settings/configurations, so you may have some issues sometimes. But even in that case, you can always flash back the stock and problem solved.

Where have you seen the flash able ROM available for the a705MN?
I have only seen FN posted online. I would be cautious to flash unless you know you can flash back.

Could You flash your device?
I tried to flash a705fn on my a705mn and it never worked, it always gave me an error on Odin (error 102) if you are able to make it work, please tell me how you did it
Ok
My search for advice lead me here. I'm downloading the Ukraine SEK Android 10 and will do my best to flash it to my CHO firmware. I have a combination ROM from Samfirm and some free time... will let you know if i can do some damage
I would strongly advise against this, there's potential for small hardware differences between different versions (Ex: FN vs MN) which could be enough to soft or worse hard brick you phone as the software was designed for another model. I know you're excited for Android 10 but I would rather be patient and wait a few weeks if you don't want to damage your device.

there is no hardware difference between A705FN and A705MN , only the A705F is different (lack NFC).

Combinations files don't work with A705 at all , we aren't allowed to flash theses since end of may.

to flash a device with a different firmware than the one shipped at factory with your device , you need the patched Odin v3.14.1 to disable device verification.
here it is: https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4952061&d=1581888388
Yeah i knew about that on my S10e (w variant).
Was hoping it might work on the unlockable...
Tried a straight up flash in a patched odin to jump csc... yeah no.
Guess i'll just cook up a sparse system.img. without 100 or so apk's, a legit font menu and other goodies stolen from ROM-mas past. It ain't all that bad.
