Fingerprint sensor sucks - Google Pixel 2 XL Questions & Answers

The slightest moisture on my finger would fail to unlock. All my previous phones never had this issue. My finger would have to be wet for it to fail. The pixel fails so easily.

works fine for me. you should sell it and buy another phone

Now now, you've already shown your lack of cognitive skills in using those super complicated search engines, you dont have to further show your ignorance by resorting to name calling. Or did we suddenly transport ourselves back to the second grade school yard.

Dropped my phone :(

It has got scratched on the back on couple of places. I want to exchange it in radio shack is that possible?
Please tell me you are kidding? YOU mishandled your phone and dropped it, causing physical damage. Now you want to take it into the store so they can exchange it and eat the cost? Go ahead and take it into them so they can laugh at you and essentially tell you the same thing.
Should have bought a case...
Sorry to hear. I dropped mine the other day and it doesn't have a scratch on it.

No they won't exchange it over a scratch.

Wrap it in a case and learn from the experience.
Buy a replacement back on eBay for around 40 bucks and change it yourself.

well i am not gonna say i am exchanging it because of scratch i ll say it doesnt work properly

This is THE reason places like Newegg used to have great return policies.
Just replace the cover, wrap the device in a cover and stop scamming the system.
If your within your 30 days you can exchange it. You might get hit with a restocking fee. Anyways if you want to make sure you get an exchange done, just brick the phone. Brick the phone to the point where it doesn't boot up. And then just play dumb tell them you woke up this morning and this happened. Trust me I work at Verizon I know the drill. The average radio shack employee couldn't tell you the difference from Odin and RSD... with the current policy radio shack has then they are forced to exchange it. Conclusion would be a faulty hardware. Yea its pretty low doing that, but I have done it multiple times. And its not like radio shack is my best friend, so your kinda screwing them over but they would do the same to you.

That would be dishonest. Better to have a few scratches on your phone than a guilty conscience.

Too much internet police on here if he messed up and dropped it yes thats his fault
if he goes and lies and they dont believe him too damn bad
if they do believe him then good for him he got what he wanted

And the first thing they will check is if there is any physical damage to the phone...then laugh at you
Seriously dude, think before you ask a question and use common sense here.
yeah you cant get an exchange just because of scratches. 2 words.. large magnet
Isn't encouraging fraud breaking the rules around here? Not to mention illegal?
OP, I would advise you to NOT to scam the system. You may think it is harmless, but somebody, somewhere will suffer the consequences of your lying.
Besides, it's very dishonest. You're trying to get a new one by claiming a defect when YOU'RE the one who broke it? Come on, you aren't that much of a scumbag, are you?

It's just that making a video on "how to take a screenshot" and posting it on XDA is almost a joke...
Not only that, but the guy in the video is doing it wrong anyway. Side of the palm.
And the title of the vid is "Screenshots on the Galaxy SII"

Kinda ironic that an iPhone lover is posting stuff that he finds interesting about the S3 in the forums. haha

It also works when the screen is locked. I had several captures in my gallery of my lock screen. Had to disable it.

You may have had a text message that turned the screen on, then it rubbed wrong and did the screen capture. I switched over to handecnt SMS to disable the auto on screen.

How to check whether phone is used or new

I am on the lookout for a Galaxy Nexus in Mumbai, India. I want to make sure that I get my money's worth when buying the phone i.e I don't want to get ripped off by the seller.
Can you please tell me how I can know if a phone is new or used previously.
I already read but people in the comments have reported that they don't always work:

I know. That's why I posted this thread - to see if someone else would have a answer.
There's very little you can do to check if it's new or not other than call Samsung and see if someone has registered the unit with them for some reason or another. Although the seals on the box being broken would be a massive give away

When i got my nexus in the mail my buddy took it out of the box and put his phone in to play a joke on me and didn't even break the seal. I asked him how he did it and he said he didn't even realize he had done that. So no the seal is no indicator at all lol.

I find it hard to believe you can undo the seal without damaging it, I had to proper rip mine to get into the box. Perhaps the EU ones are more secure!!
Either way, unless you're getting it from an official dealer it's hard to say whether it's 100% new or not
