What is XOSP?
XOSP is an after-market firmware based on CodeAuroraSources (CAF) destinated for a wide range of Android phones. The name stands for the Xperia Open Source Project and the project was initially created by @nilac for the Galaxy S+ (his old device) years ago when back then the ROM was called S+ Reborn. The vision was to create a minimal bloat free ROM which included Sony Xperia specific apps and various tweaks users would expect from a custom ROM.
S+ Reborn became a success and was eventually ported to different devices so from there it was rebranded to XOSP. Calin worked on the project for 2 years always trying to improve it. Eventually, Because of the fact Lollipop was buggy on his Galaxy S+, he decided to take a break from development until he got his hands on the Zenfone 2 in 2015 and from then he started again the development of XOSP and continued it ever since.
How do we release updates?
We release new updates for our Official devices each week by providing Delta updates to the users,so maintainers of the other devices can do the same as well if they want to keep up with the changes. We will make full zip releases only once a month except special cases like for example XOSPDelta is not working or something like it.
You can find all the included features right:

You can find the list of current issues in the ROM right:

Maybe some people will expect updates.
Therefore, in the first post it should be added that the XOSP team officially ended its activity.

I didn't remove it because it's talking about Official Releases and some roms have stopped working on Nougat.
Greetings

Does anny one know how to install Viper4Android or Arise? If i try to install the Arise true editing the zip file on my sd card and then try to flash Arise it says unsuficient commands. It works on other "Lineage os based builds". The headphone sounds are just not good enough for me.

This ROM turns out to be very smooth and brings another experience to our S4, so far so good, everything is working Thanks Krizthian to share it with us
There´s only one thing missing or I can not found a way to enable it, does anyone know how to make the home button wakeup the device?
I have already tried the tip in AospExtended thread, adding WAKE after HOME doesn´t work.

Running great so far, except a slight issue with videos in one app. Will monitor it. Loving the Pixel C buttons. Had launcher 3 fc after I set up the initial sign in, but could be because I use Banks gapps, and it isn't playing well with this particular ROM. Couldn't do anything, so had to flash an alternative launcher in recovery. All fine. I flashed it before the thread was posted, so didn't know where I'd be able to give feedback lol. Thanks a lot!!

What is XOSP and how was it born?
XOSP basically which stands for the Xperia Open Source Project was a project originally created by me for the Galaxy S+ (my old device) and the project was created like 2 years ago when that time XOSP wasn't even existing. It was just S+ Reborn. The main idea was to create a custom minimal Xperia based ROM, by including the essential things which a user would normal use from a ROM.
The S+ Reborn became to be a big success because it was eventually ported on different Xperia Phones and some other Samsung devices and from there the XOSP project was founded. From the XOSP Project also the Reborn addons were created featuring with an Aroma Installer. I worked on the project for 2 years by trying always to improve it constantly, eventually for the fact that LP on my Galaxy S+ became to be quite buggy i decided to stop the development and for about half of year the project was left in stanby till i decided to bring it back again on the Zenfone 2 devices. The ROM will now also feature a White Indigo theme for all the ROM (framework, Settings and so on) and of course the newest Xperia Applications ported from the SystemDumps provided by the Sony community.
The project started growing again so with the Release 4 the project will be completely refactored to XOSP.
Revisions and Releases
I've got a different type of releasing, i will not provide weekly builds but just let me show you how the revisions and release type works: The revisions refers like to a sort of Nightly thing i mean the changes included in the ROM are small not as a Release one. All the releases got 5 revisions. So the Release is something even bigger right? Hell yeah! When a new Release is released expect many improvements or new features

Wow, amazingly smooth. I tried many marshmallow roms on Armani but they lagged after sometime, but this rom is perfectly smooth.
Bug: 1. Network traffic hide doesn't work.
2. Switching to front camera always gives me "Can't connect to camera".
Hopefully the infamous audio bug is not there.

First time I flashed this with open gapps pico I couldn't get through the setup wizard. Couldn't connect to Internet it kept saying. Signal icon and LTE indicator said otherwise. Had to back track and bypass wizard (four corner tap). As I noticed in the past during the wizard FC period, doing so has side effects. In this case no calendar sync no matter what I do.
Was also working on OctOS but with Banks gapps. Same Internet problem, same side effect.
Second go around with XOSP using Banks worked. Go figure.
Wondering though, what's with the new T-Mobile APNs. This, OctOS, and PAC have APNs with no MMSC url. And instead of "default, supl, mms" we have "ia,default, supl". I don't even know what ia is.
Would also get the signal indicator with exclamation. Changing protocol from IPv4/IPv6 to just IPv6 seemed to fix that.

No it does not. Once attempting to enable it the Bt Share goes on FC autopilot.
I wish AndyLog would work on MM. Its Last Crash feature is nice.
Here's a log from SysLog. It automatically zips it up so I haven't had a look. However, its new live logcat feature shows a device that cannot be opened.
Hopefully this link works.

Whoops, I meant that since the Xperia X System Dump is already floating around the web, do you have any plans to actually bring those apps and features into the G4? Sorry for the bad phrasing.
Thank you

These XOSPApps are common for x86 and x64 . In initial days there was no support for x64 devices and the name of XOSPApps was not changed :cyclops:
BTW, happy that you are loving it

Quite tempting.....I might even try it..
Btw why did you choose CM13 over AOSP?
I tried them both and I found AOSP rock solid.
Thanks for your hard work.

very good rom, probably the best ....
Very cool you're doing this rom also for the G4 Nitinkumar. I'm using the XOSP rom also on my G3 and it has given it new life. Can't wait to start testing this also on my G4. It's looking to become the best rom on this phone. Hope the camera quality is sufficient! Thanks a lot
I'm a flashaholic and can't decide what rom I want to use daily
Maybe this rom can be my daily driver? Will give it a try.

Aside from the lock screen clock, this is a really great ROM. Anyway to change or remove it altogether?
I know I'm being overly picky but I hated the clock when I had my Z1 too. Really good ROM otherwise.

What is XOSP and how was it born?
XOSP stands for the Xperia Open Source Project. The project was initially created by me (@nilac) for the Galaxy S+ (my old device) years ago. Back then the ROM was called S+ Reborn. The vision was to create a minimal bloat free ROM which included Sony Xperia specific apps and various tweaks users would expect from a custom ROM.
S+ Reborn became a success and was eventually ported to different devices so from there I rebranded and XOSP project was founded. I worked on the project for 2 years always trying to improve it. Eventually, Because of the fact Lollipop was buggy on my Galaxy S+ (Which I maintained xosp for at the time) I decided to take a break from development until I got my hands on the Zenfone 2 in 2015 and from then I started again the development of XOSP and continued it ever since.
What Represents a Release and what represents a Revision?
Revisions include small changes such as bug fixes/improvments etc.. (Usually there are made like 3 revisions per-release).
Releases are the main "stable" builds with all new planned features implemented and bugs fixed.
You can find all the included features right: HERE
You can find the list of current issues in the ROM right: HERE

I really want to test this rom but in installation instructions there's an "if your device is encrypted you need to format data". May I ask why? Is it really necessary to go through all backup data hassle?
This rom is without doubt the best for our device. No idea why, but battery time is like on 40% since yesterday to now, I used phone at 4.20 screen time, for me it is a record. No lags, no bugs, at least not yet. I was thinking aops is smooth. But it break everything. THANK YOU! Please keep supporting this...

Today got a hard brick while using this rom, could not even get into edl, also dont know what caused it, i was just at work.
luckily my computer recognized it and i could use miflash eventually, but still... all data lost...
Just curious, why you called it XOSP, like it's somehow based on AOSP, but it's clearly not. Kinda confusing, ppl will think mi5 has aosp...
