I turn the stay awake function on in developer options and after few hours it turns it's self off, anyone have any idea why this happens?

Maybe the phone gets hot with the screen constantly on?

Screen stays on ALL NIGHT

I dont know if anyone is facing the same problem I have now, my n2 screen wont turn off by itself. I have set the timer on 15secs, smart stay disable. It juz wont turn off when idle. And if its fully charged, it will stay up all night as well.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Does it relate to my Omega rom or Redpill kernel?
Thanks
Do you have motion on?
Reboot?

I was just discussing the same in some other threads here. I tried everything up my sleeves and nothing helped. Do post if you've already found a fix Thank you

experienced this after upgrading to 4.1.2 weeks ago. backed up everything, complete-wipe then reflashed my rom(always on stock). no more issues. must have been a hiccup.

I had this even when I was on 4.1.1. Thought the upgrade would solve it for me but it didn't. Tough luck. Still searching for 3rd party apps that could give me a permanent solution.

I dun have a fix to this problem but I have a tasker profile that turns the screen off when battery is fully charged. You might want to try that as an interim.
What is your screen time out once mine was changed automatically check that

There's a button on the side for that
Just kidding, that's very strange. I noticed if you reboot the phone and don't touch it, when it comes on the screen never turns off either. Doesn't matter if it's plugged in or not.

I dunno if I'll be able to use tasker. I've not rooted my phone I'm still a noob and dunno if I can pull all that off on my own ^_^

I had that problem when using smart stay and smart rotation settings turned on in display settings. After I turned them off the screen shut off after 30 seconds as it should every time.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Yes I noticed when 'smart stay' is turned on it causes the screen to stay on all the time. It's not a perfect feature. So I've turned it off
Sent from my SGH-I317M using xda app-developers app
do you have the power option to stay on whilst charging?
It's not smart stay, not the screen rotate with your head thingy nor the developer option that keeps the screen on while the device is being charged. I turned all that off. This is clearly a big that I've had from 4.1.1. Can't get rid of it. Annoyance at its peak.

Are you saying that the screen just won't turn off, or that it turns itself on and then won't turn off?
If it's the first, my guess is an app which prevents the screen from turning off, didn't release its lock after being shut down. This can happen with some games, I've seen it with angry birds and jetpack joyride, titanium backup has done it too. Try to empty ram and kill processes, and/or reboot, though I would guess you might have tried that already.

If doesn't turn on on its own. When the bug kicks in, the screen doesn't go off if it's manually turned on or If a missed call or message is left unattended. Hope you got that. But yes, I can turn off the screen manually but doing that every time is ridiculously annoying. The bad thing is I cannot know if the bug is active or not without actually watching my screen till the timeout. Annoying bug! I've tried various things and I do not know what's causing this. I'm on stock rom, never rooted.

How to turn off screen without sleep on

I am wondering if I turn off my screen is there any way to prevent it from going to sleep if I mod htc v? I am using my htc one as a dedicated webcam and is using an app called ip webcam. It does have features that can prevent it from going to sleep but it lags whe. The screen is off.
Plug it in and have the dev settings to never turn off screen while plugged in. And turn brightness way down. Hope this helped

Already done that but when screen is turned off the processor is slowed down therefore the video is slowed down.
Use Screen Standby

Make the screen turn off when charging AUTOMATICALLY?

I don't like how the screen stays on while charging, I know theater mode can turn it off but I have to get into theater mode every night and I know there is a trick with ambient display from the app but this also takes time. Is there a way to just have the watch turn off the screen ALWAYS when charging without my asking it to?

Get an app called slumber. It does what you're looking for.

Actually slumber didn't work very well for me buy I ended up finding a thing online saying to go into developer options and change the setting, THAT worked wonders

I confirm that setting it "backwards" from what you expect does what you want. Someone's boolean logic was off when they programmed that setting.

This worked for me too. Setting is reversed.
Once on charge, I get the charging screen for about 15 seconds then it turns off and stays off! Perfect!
i can confirm that the setting is reversed
however, this feature isn't all that reliable (the screen doesn't always turn off)

Stop auto screen wake?

Can't seem to figure it out. Sometimes when I pick up the phone the screen automatically turns on to a black screen with htc lock screen widget (not the one wen you manually wake the phone) and it bothers me. Where can I go to to disable this?
Thanks

Turning off screen on 2.0

Hi guys! Installed 2.0 few days ago and I can't find an option to turn off screen.
Before the update when I set the watch to charge I did a double tap on the button and it turned the screen off. But now the button launched the apps so I can't find an easy way to turn it off quickly.
Any ideas?

While it's on the watch face, slide from the top. You'll see airplane mode, sounds,, brightness, do not disturb, and setting. Tap brightness, pick the one in the middle between the plus and minus.
place the palm of your hand on the screen. Turns it off.

Unfortunately, that doesn't work anymore in Android Wear 2.0
works for me. When screen is on place my fingers or palm of my hand over the screen and it turns the screen off

For me it doesn't work. Which watch face do you use?
Does anybody know a simple solution to activate the theater mode?
Something like a Theater mode toggle?
No simple solution to activate theater mode, other than swiping down front the top

Well, normally covering the screen with palm turns watch to ambient mode (not theater mode), but I guess you don't have ambient mode in use, so it turns the screen just off?
Ah right. I don't use ambient mode, so it turns my screen off.

As stated above, apparently covering the watch with your palm does enable theater mode if ambient mode is not turned on. If it is, it puts it in ambient mode instead.
