I snooped the LG Bridge link for the USS998, changed my user agent to Google Spider and was able to download it to my PC -- while LG Bridge was still downloading the update for my phone.
However, that link does not work automatically like yours does. When I pasted it back into any browser it now gives me dead connection. I DO have the file and I uploaded it to mirror. Just curious why YOUR LG Bridge link works and mine only worked one time?
Here's the entire link:
Code:
http://pkg03.lime.gdms.lge.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=FWD5829D728DAEYA736DNZ7/US99810c_03_1216.kdz&e=1516284041&h=47a8578c8219b2cded92e25464de8098
And this was the part I posted in my thread:
Code:
http://pkg03.lime.gdms.lge.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=FWD5829D728DAEYA736DNZ7/US99810c_03_1216.kdz
But clicking on either does not start a download.
Very strange.
Here's my mirror, so I have the US998 file...
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=746010030569947649
Any ideas why your LG Bridge link (for H930) works and mine (for US998) doesn't?

Change pkg3 to pkg2 on the beginning of the link Found this trick on YouTube. When you do that it shouldn't even need useragent changing.

I was stuck on 10f but with December security patch. Flashed 10v and it had November one... Then thanks to kind reddit user I got link to this 11m which has January patch. Now I don't have to worry about this Spectre/Meltdown vulnerability.

I have just downloaded the H930 update on my phone v11m.
I am rooted and have recovery installed. how can I install the update? When the phone tries to restart it just boots into recovery without installing the update.
Is there a way I CAN update to this?

You cant install this update inside TWRP.
Only with LG Tools.

[Q] [HELP] Unrooting LG G3 V10l

Hi guys i'm new to all this soo here is what i did.
I recently rooted my lg g3 V10l-EUR-XX and now i want to unroot it ... but the problem is that i found only the kdz file without the dll file ...
Can you please help me find it or if it's possible to downgrade it from v10l ? Sorry if i said something strange or impossible but i'm a complete newbie with the roots and stuff
If you download the LG PC Suite and click on "Restore Upgrade errors" it should reflash the current version, but i'm not sure as it might download the latest which is lollipop.
You could also flash your KDZ file using the LG Flash Tool. Without the need for a DLL file.

Because i have been reading a lot of post this week and everything messed up. That's why i didn't see that the LG Flash Tool doesn't require .dll file. I just brought my LG to stock and everything is fine ... Thank you for ''enlighting'' me ! :good:
In fact i have one more question ... probably a silly one but still. When the LG was still rooted i got an update for v20e i think but i didn't install it because i assumed that it will be bad and it will ''brick'' my phone ... and now when it's stock i don't have that update. What should i do or it is just a matter of time the update to show up ?

Since you device in now unrooted there will be no problem in updating. The update may show up some time, but you can always flash it if you want to.
NOTE: Lollipop CAN NOT be rooted.

[OTA][6.0] Marshmallow update available for OPPO F1s

I just now landed to this page and found official Marshmallow update for our oppo f1s
How to update?
*BACK UP YOUR DATA*
Just put the zip file in your sdcard and reboot to stock recovery and "apply update"
Warning : This update will factory reset your phone and wipe all data. I upgraded without backup and lost all my data!
Link to OTA:
http://downloads.oppo.com.s3.amazon.../A1601EX_11_OTA_001_all_201703281552_wipe.zip
The OTA is released for Australia but it worked on Indian and Phillipines phones. I have tested it on my phone.
EDIT: Seems there's a global version also http://downloads.oppo.com.s3.amazon...A1601EX_11_OTA_027_all_201701110933_local.zip
I haven't yet tested the global version.
No point in upgrading. There are no root options.

The update zip doesn't contain stock recovery, which means if you flash the OTA via TWRP [by modifying updater-script] you can update to MM and re-root from twrp.
I haven't tried it because twrp is not working on my phone for some strange reason. Probably because I have 4GB version

Marshmallow suck oppo f1s , Not appearing notification on status bar , Internet isn't working well n it's slow ,
Can someone help me?
I have updated my F1s to marshmallow however, I am unable to get the latest monthly updates installed. I have tried downloading the latest update (A1601EX_11.A.38_20190328) and installing manually, however that results in an error and fails to update.
It seems the recent update is for the lollipop rom. I don't want to roll back to lollipop as I have seen major improvements to GPU performance and battery life since upgrading to marshmallow.
Is there a way to get the latest set of security patches for marshmallow?

Hi. Had to make an account to answer you lol.
For some reason, OPPO stopped supporting marshmallow on the countries it was implemented. Philippines, however, did not effected the idea and would say, if you ever ask them, that their team is working on it. It's just a bunch of rubbish, we both know they're too busy with their flagship phones. F1s has long been forgotten and the only latest marshmallow update you could find is here, I'm not sure though.

B377 for BLN-L21C432 (europe)

I just discovered the update in Firmware Finder dated july 31. My device is Bln-L21C432...
I'm downloading all 3 files right now. Installing biggest file is best ?
You´re right.
*#*#2846579#*#* and 3 hardware buttons combo do not see update.app in dload.
Strange; B151 did not have PV in filename either.
BLN-L21C432B360.
I just like security updates
Sorry, that I don' t understand.
Dload did not work for me.
B360
I tryed to Install the B364 on my BLN-21 with the Firmware Finder app.
But in the last step, after the download,it comes not certified.
But here they say, there is a new Update for Europe:
http://www.stechguide.com/honor-6x-b364-nougat-update/
"Must be on stock recovery" + "Flash with Twrp".
Strange info. Thanks for the link anyway.
What for Update is it,and when will we get it in Germany OTA?
In the Firmware Finder i can find it and download it,but i cant install it,because it says not compatible file.
And when i search OTA for an Update,i got the message no Update available.

B365 is out now, only MF also, did anyone try to install this ? For some weird reason my BLN-L21C432 is still stuck on Marshmallow via official update.
But..... why ??? I want updates, now! It's just not fair
[serious] why is that russian site down ? http://hwmt.ru/oth/HWFF/info/view.php?find_model=
B366 OTA-MF is also available now, but... on official OTA updates I'm still stuck of B151.
Did anyone flash these MF firmwares?
Only 1 file of 129 mb. Say... uh ?

That's nice, thanks to this thread I've noticed the B365 update. It was strange since that system update kept saying to me that there was no update available when running it, while as i clicked on the 3 dots in the upper right corner I've noticed that the option "download latest update" was there anyway (where often it isn't there if there's nothing to download obviously). 2.45GB for latest security patch is a punch in the eye anyway :cyclops:

Don't think that it'll be possible to extract it now, i wanted to do that too when i went to Nougat from Marshmallow but after the update the system automatically erase the package.
off-topic: how do I change the topic line into: B365 for BLN-L21C432 (europe) ?
not possible ?

YEP!!
Use LGUP patched.
So I tried updating an Amazon V35 flashed to Unlocked USA Oreo and it refuses to update. I realize I can just flash the KDZ but are software converted phones permanently barred from updates? The Amazon firmware has too much bloat and requires 5-10 apps to be uninstalled via ADB to get a clean experience. Even then the apps reinstall after every update. I suppose it's go through the hassle of loading every new KDZ in LG UP, or flashing back to Amazon firmware and reapplying ADB commands after every update.

you aren't able to flash pie Google fi?
I can manually flash with the modded LG UP, yes. I'm just saying the OTA updater and LG Bridge no longer work after crossflashing. Even though the Amazon phone is identical to the USA unlocked model, LG Bridge catches that it's an Amazon model and aborts the update.
Got my Android Pie update today. This is on the unlocked version running on T-Mobile. I like this particular version of the V35 purchased from bhphotovideo.com as it runs on all 4 major US networks, including Verizon. Better late than never!

you can get around that by adding it to your google drive then copying it somewhere in the drive. The copy should be yours and free to download.
I had cross flashed from AT&T to Fi. Oreo to Pie I used upgrade in LGUP. Went smooth, no need to debloat as it left all my data intact. Altogether simple and sweet. Good luck to all of you as well

oh, missed that detail. I don't fully understand what you're trying to do. From what I have read, once you crossflash and aren't on the firmware for the phone, regular update avenues are done for.
The pie firmware for amazon is not the same as Google FI/AIO/USA unlocked iirc
My understanding is that the ADB commands don't always remove the apps, just disable them. Package Disabler Pro for LG might be a good option.

I'm in the same predicament. I flashed my Amazon V35 with stock LG firmware, and now I can't update to pie OTA. I guess my question now is will using LG UP to flash the amazon pie KDZ restore OTA ability? I won't know until the next security update. That, or flash amazon oreo KDZ and see if OTA finds the pie update.

No, at least with the V30 when you can flash back to original variant firmware. So, probably same with V35.
LGUP Cross Flashing Errors
For those of you that have cross flashed, say to another carrier rom like the Korean Pie rom or from ATT to Google Fi and are having problems going back just use the modded LGUP and select the "Partition DL" option when flashing. I don't believe this option does any sort of checking on model or carrier. Just be sure to have the "RIGHT" rom the select all partitions when asked. If you wish to save your data deselect the "userdata" partition.
In my case I was flashing back from the Korean Pie rom to the Google Fi Pie (universal) rom and getting a cross flashing error when using the "upgrade" option in LGUP. I just switch to the method above and flashed with no problems. BTW, when coming from the Korean Pie rom back to another rom my advice is to wipe the phone. This way any Korean apps that were loaded along with the Korean rom will be wipe too!
NO MATTER WHAT YOU SHOULD BACKUP YOUR DATA.

Verizon V30 VS99630d update pushed out

I haven't been around much in some time but figured I'd mention I woke to a update message on my phone. Going to push it if as long as I can, that is assuming there is still development going on.
I'll try to see if I can find a location to DL the image to provide it to whoever might be able to tell me if it's okay to apply to my tired phone.

In the mean time, how do I stop big brother Verizon from bugging me to update the firmware. My phone is rooted with Magisk so I can't take OTA.

Just freezing the 2 System Updates will do it.
I have to say I'm very impressed! Like it's been 3 years since the V30 launched, right? I had started at replacing this phone due to the lack of security updates, but now I can keep using it a while longer, awesome!
I am currently on the debloated vs99630c rom. Can the Verizon updated rom be downloaded onto the phone without losing root?
Do we know if anyone is trying to make this into a twrp installable rom, hope so?

Yes, very surprising news.
This is probably OTA and full KDZ will be released soon. You can capture KDZ with LG Bridge URL.

Never used LG Bridge and saw a procedure you were trying out several years back: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/help/us998-kdz-file-request-t3726918/page2
Couple questions:
1) Does the procedure for downloading the KDZ "mess" with your existing recovery / system partitions? (I'd like to try and get the KDZ but not at the expense of needing to worry about restoring things back to the way they are now.)
2) You seemed to have trouble extracting the URL at first, then had success later on. What was the trick to getting it to work?
Thanks,
Drew
EDIT: LG Bridge doesn't connect to my V30 VS996 for some reason. Have tried within TWRP and the LG Pie ROM. Have tried File Transfer mode, Charging mode, System Update mode, etc. Within File Transfer mode, the software appears to try to connect, then fails and suggests I disconnect/reconnect the cable which I do to no avail. Oh well, I tried.

You need TWRP flashable zip. The full KDZ has not been publicly released yet. JohnFawkes or Seadersn would have to make it, when the KDZ is released

You can look in the Bridge's download log file and find the URL that was used to download the .kdz
The link can then be downloaded by anyone using web browser. Sometimes User-Agent change is required, I think to "spider". I used a chrome extension to temporarily change the user agent so the LG Bridge server didn't see I was using a regular web browser.
Any chance that someone with a VS996 and LG Bridge that works can PLEASE check to see if the vs99630d KDZ is available for download?
I would, but I've tried using LG Bridge with multiple PCs and cannot get it to connect to my VS996. It shows the Connecting... screen but just times out regardless of what I do.
Thanks!
Drew
I will try
edit: LG Bridge is not working for me either. However I just googled and there is a 30d kdz on https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-vs996-firmwares/

Thanks for confirming I'm not the only one with LG Bridge issues and for finding the 30d KDZ!
Direct link to 30d KDZ page: https://lg-firmwares.com/downloads-file/23387/VS99630d_02_0821_ARB00
Now the next question is -- is @JohnFawkes still on the scene and able to work the same magic he used for the 30c TWRP zip with the 30d version? My guess is this is the last time Verizon/LG pushes out an update for the almost 3 year old phone.
Thank you!!
There is a tool to convert .kdz to twrp .zip. But it says it only works for old kdz. I dont know how the new KDZ are converted.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...-kdzz-create-flashable-zip-kdz-files-t3902423
I think though you can update with the kdz using patched LGUP via REFURBISH or PARTITION DL. You will lose twrp, but you can reinstall twrp afterwards. Then I think you have to install magisk again, as well as Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_08.18.2019 (encryption disabler) and AnyKernel 3 RCTD Remover (root checker disabler). All that is explained in this link.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/how-to/wtf-lg-v30-t3790500/post79972584#post79972584
Also I think you lose data, so have to backup apps and stuff if needed.
I might do this in the next time. I dont know if there will be a flashable twrp zip.

Was just looking into KDZZ and yeah I think John figured out a way with new KDZs (or else we wouldn't have one for 30c). I recall it taking a few tries with us beta testers so it's evidently not super simple. If John is still around, hopefully he can share a how-to on this new KDZ, or just create the TWRP zip for 30d himself...
Not sure about your 2nd idea because that method seems to require fastboot commands which the Verizon firmware doesn't allow. I could be wrong here, but I'd hold off doing any of this until someone confirms one way or the other...

Thanks. I'll update the VS996 Pie KDZ thread tonight when I get home.
@JohnFawkes.
Nah I won't be updating anything. If you guys aren't aware, I don't do android development anymore. Please refer to this post as to why
https://twitter.com/topjohnwu/status/1304871604833329153?s=20
Sorry. If I was still doing development I would make it but after everything with fontchanger and all the bull**** I put up with, I can't force myself to do anything dev related anymore
---------- Post added at 09:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:09 PM ----------
I'm sure @seadersn would do it if he has time though
the developer is fed up with the constant harassment (even death threats) from other "devs"

good point, if fastboot commands dont work on 30d
Honestly you can just flash the kdz and select everything except recovery to keep twrp

@ChazzMatt
Since you are the guru for all things V30, have you already made a guide for how to flash a KDZ in LGUP and keep TWRP?
My Download Mode has been borked since Oreo on the VS996, so do you think flashing the US998 20e TWRP zip will fix that issue AND should I expect any problems flashing an Oreo US998 rom after being on a Pie VS996 rom?
I am guessing if I somehow regain Download Mode with this 20e method, then I use LGUP's Partition DL mode and check everything but Recovery for the 30d KDZ?
Then what else would we want to do before booting into the ROM in terms of encryption and all that John normally includes in his TWRP zip?
If anyone successfully completes this task of keeping TWRP and Root with 30d, can you please report back?
Thanks!
Drew

We tried that in the early days -- before Westwood24, JohnFawkes, and Seadrsn. It was hit or miss, and turned to mostly miss. Theoretically, using Partition DL but omitting the recovery partitions, it should cleanly only update the those partitions and leave TWRP intact. But for whatever reasons, that would often not work. (I can't remember whether it just bootlooped or got hung on logo. Been a couple of years ago. It would be discussed early in the Oreo KDZ threads.)
After attempting that, many people then had to reformat their phones, flash the full KDZ (either Refurbish or Partition DL) and then reinstall TWRP again. Bootloader was still unlocked, of course, but they had to go through Section 6 of WTF Instructions to reinstall TWRP over the updated KDZ. If you have H930 variant or US998 firmware, that's NOT a deal breaker as those have fastboot flash commands. But for Verizon firmware, you can't do that.
This is why the TWRP-flashable zips (basically stock ROMs) were such a godsend. You kept your data and kept TWRP.
