How to unlock sim, unbrick, fix ramdom reboot loop on alcatel idol windows
hupahopp said:
I called the service
I described everything I did with it
they told me the motherboard was damaged
and that in an authorized service center would cost 5000 czk (239$) .......... somehow I do not want to believe that by deleting data from five items and by restarting the phone will damage the motherboard
New Alcatel 4s (6071w) costs $ 150 in US
New Alcatel 4Pro (6077x) costs 219 euros (277$) in Germany
I ordered it today
the injured person might get in some way

Download QXDM/QPST then boot into Factory mode. Connect with QXDM/QPST and let us know what you come up with. I recommend you back up the NV memory first before making changes.
There is a thread around about how to boot into facory mode using ffutool...
Edit: Also do know that altering the QC EFS data can cause your phone to not boot or become unstable.

Factory unlocked version or the T-mobile variant? The factory unlocked should include these:
UMTS: 1,2,4,5 LTE: 2,4,12,5,7,17
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900

I dont know.
Is this one:
microsoft.com/en-ca/store/d/alcatel-idol-4s-unlocked/93t646gz04f7/07gb?activetab=pivot%3aoverviewtab
They say this in the specs:
GSM network: 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS 2/4/5, LTE 2/4/12
So i'm afraid that i have no access to 4G network in Vodafone Portugal.
Even 3G, it sims to cover only one of the two frequencies used by Vodafone in Portugal.

Is the IDOL 4 Pro (EURO Variant) not available or too expensive to go with instead? That is the model that supports the needed frequencies for Europe....
EDIT:
Code:
Alcatel IDOL 4 Pro Specifications.........
[B]GSM Band 850/900/1800/1900
LTE Bands 1/3/7/8/20/28A/38
[/B]Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac
Wi-Fi Calling 1.0

Idol 4 pro is not available in Serbia, I for really long time use Windows Phone and I em satisfied with it. Friend of mine offered knowing that I love windows phones to bay me Alcatel Idol 4S North America version. Price is very tempting and I accepted but main reason is that I want to stay on Windows Phone for few years more.

The european version, sell in UK, for example, costs almost 500€ and the canadian/USA version costs less then 100€

I live in Serbia, Serbia is not yet part of European union so European model is not available in Serbia. Even if it's available it is to expensive for me ☺ . Mine only question is for supported basebands, it's confusing because on Microsoft store spec are umts bands 2,4,5 and people here are claiming 1,2,4,5 . LTE bands are even more confusing. Is there anybody that used this Phone ( Microsoft GSM unlocked version ) outside US and Canada to share experience.

Phone has arrived and I am truly impressed. I don't have lte band but it's not deal breaker for me. 2G 3G and 4G working great and I am happy to rapport so if anybody has doubt it will work in Europe.

Did anybody find the way to unlock more lte bands. I read that it is not so easy like on Lumia phones. It is necessary to unlock bootloader and after that it is theoretically possible to change modem configuration.

If your referring to the Idol 4s, I wouldn't waste too much time. There have been attempts to do this on the open market model that have failed. If you need the phone to work in European countries you should buy the Idol 4 pro.
You can still attempt it if you want but if you don't know where to start then you're already asking for problems..
Just do searches in Google and on XDA if you need more resources. Note that you risk bricking your device or making it unstable too.

Not until the at&t variants are released.
Rm-823 is released AT&T is an rm-808
Sent from my Lumia 900 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Has anyone tried installing the 823 onto the 808? i would be curious to know what happens or what the changes are? In a lot of industries, the model changes but the inards don't.
It will not flash the 823 to an 808. You can pick the rom, but when it tries to flash it barfs.
YEah in this case they are different hardware. from what i can figure the RM-823 has the GSM, 3G and HSDPA bands where the RM-808 has the 4G/LTE bands. In most cases Lumias have all radio and enabled by software but not so with the AT&T models.
so there are loads on there now which make me think that they are getting ready for roll out, would be a nice Chrimbo present.
2 Questions, if you see an EU variant for White, will it work with an EU phone? My current is
Type Designator RM-823
Model Name NOKIA Lumia 900
Product Code 059P5N9
Software Version 2175.2503.8779.12301
Next question is looking on xda etc I must be blind, I see lots of people say they are rocking 7.8 but can not how to get to it. Any pointers to a good post would be happily received.
Cheers
Just finished installing Software Version 2175.2905.8858.12480, Finland variant and apart from some confusion with the Finnish language (until I could change it to English) when first starting up it seems to be running fine.
So far all I've tested is connecting WiFi to my wireless network and then wirelessly tethering the phone to my laptop and it all seems to be working as it should.
Will do some more testing of various functions and let you know if there are any problems.
Now to setup my Home screen tiles properly (finally)

Also as long as it's an rm-823 and the country variant has the same bands as your country then your all good. Worst thing that can happen is your reception won't be as good if the variant you flash from does not have the same bands.
If it doesn't work well, just reflash a different one, all good

No. Not even when the RM-808 is out. It HAS to be the at&t version. Rogers won't flash on a at&t RM-808.

successfully updating my 900 to 7.8..mine is from Singtel Singapore..and no..my variant is not out yet..but i just flash it using Sweden variant and all i can say is everything work like a charm.. except theres no Bluetooth file sharing and ringtone maker yet..i think, its unfinished rom @[email protected] using Windows 8 x64.
Ps: anyone getting their Lumia not recognize by the NCS, try this:
1. Install the driver from Programfiles/nokia/nokia care suit/ driver..install everything, be sure for ur x86 or x64.
2. Restart windows.
3. Avoid using any USB 3.0 when connecting ur phone to ur PC/Laptop.
Edit: as i read on some others article, theres someone that said their 7.8 have the Bluetooth file sharing and ringtone maker..and most of them using India variant..but, too lazy to flash again xD anyone care to try? and i dont think theres a big diffrent between variant, well im using Singapore set and successfully flash using Sweden variant, so theres no big diffrent between each other and basically..u can used any variant you like, except if u are on at&t as their Lumias have an LTE which diffrent from all of us
All you need is the windows driver on the root of that drivers directory. I confirmed it today if your system is 64bit install that if it's 32 just install that one.

[Q] How to flash RM-823 on my RM-808

Hi all!
I have a question.
Is there any chance, or is there anybody who succesfully flash RM-823 rom on RM-808.
Do you have any ideas how to change these number? I don't care about LTE, because I don't have it in my country, so I would be really grateful if you help me.
Thanks

You can't. The 7.8 update should be on Navifirm soon.
Well but I also need it due to language. So I hope there must be some kind of way how to do it...via registry edit or smthg like that?.

Nope. It's the bootloader that's blocking you from doing it. You should be able to install languages with the cab sender, but I have no idea. Never done it.

You don't care about the LTE, but your phone is an LTE device, so whether you care or not, still your phone is different from RM-823. You have to wait for your variant or buy a non-LTE phone so you can flash it right away. as far as i know, its not because of the number (eg: rm-823,rm-808), so even if you change the number, no you still can't flash the RM-823 variant. an LTE device require a different driver than RM-823.
ps: and yes, like exiva said, if your variant is out on navifrm, you gonna have to unlocked your bootloader to be able to flash the 7.8 update.

Yes it is, but it is also surely GSM mobile, because there are no LTE devices in our country. There is only GSM, so it must be also GSM, that was what I tried to say.

If you can change the product code to one of RM-823, then you can flash 823 to 808 and vice versa. On Symbian device, I did a few times. However, I could not find any software which can change the product code for Luma 900 yet.
It would be superb if you find any software which can do it. I also googled and binged many pages, but can't find solution

You can't install another firmware if it is not suitable for your device.
Upgrade it to 8858 and after you have to install all the updates your language until 8858.

Unlock FDD LTE Band 3 (1800MHZ) on OnePlus 3 US Variant

Is there any way that I can buy the EU\Asia or Chinese variant of OnePlus 3 in US from OnePlus or flash a custom ROM or kernerl to get LTE Band 3 on the US variant?
OnePlus AMA going on over @ Reddit, there is no 32GB model coming.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/4o308u/oneplus_ama_oneplus_3dition/
as all three models are sporting the Snapdragon 820 you will most likely find it is a ROM lock to certain bands and so flashing the EU/Asia ROM will open up Band 3, Otherwise CM13.
i am interested in finding this out also?
thank you

It actually might be locked on the Modem side.
Since there were tools to unlock the Bands for OP1, there might some tools coming to do the same for OP3.
Did anybody find a modem file to flash? Or a way to do this?

Tutorial How to view Network/Bands

Hi Everyone,
Many People here want a 100% confirmation of what Bands this phone supports, i am also interested in this. I want to know Both 8gb/12gb band differences. I am currently waiting for the shipment of the 12gb ram version of the phone. I am providing a quick simple guide on how to show/list network bands, Please keep in mind that below is a guide from "ANOTHER PHONE" (screenshots are from a galaxy phone), I am asking for you to follow the same steps and reply with your own screenshots showing the supported bands from both 8gb ram & 12gb ram versions:
Requirements:
1) internet connection
2) Rooted phone
3) Download/Install this app called Network Signal Guru
Follow below steps :
1) Open Network Signal Guru, it will ask for Root access, and 3 permissions, say yes to all
2) Click the menu Button (picture 1 in attachments)
3) Select "Lock Rat" (picture 2 in attachments), this display supported Network type (as shown in Picture 3 in attachments) (WARNING, DO NOT select anything, take a screenshot and press back.
4) Click the menu button and select "Lock Bands" (Picture 4 in attachment)
5) Here you will have three options to select from: GSM, WCDMA, LTE, select one of them and take a screenshot and hit back, do the same for the other ones: WARNING, don't uncheck/touch anything. (pictures 5-9 shows an example each)
This app only works with Qualcomm processors, i am expecting that this guide also works with the Asus Rog Phone 2 (no guarantees)
After you got your screenshots, you can uninstall this app, please reply back showing bands both models support.
can the phone be unlocked to support many LTE bands or it should hardware support also?

Your screenshot confirms the 8gb ram version of the phone. Would also like to thank you for your other well-informative posts, easy to understand, very helpful guides. Im sure you took your time writing your posts to help others here at XDA, it doesnt go un-noticed, and i appreciate your posts.
To All,
Now we need a screenshot of the 12gb ram, please someone post it, it should contain more bands.

So no difference between WW and Tencent radios? I ask this because of the post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/rog-phone-2/help/asus-malaysia-addresses-key-differences-t3961135
They show the bands in their image from the Malaysian site. I was under the impression that the WW ROM exposed a couple of new bands.

Band 28
Hi, I have the ROG 2 tencent version 8/128
Before I flashed the global rom, the phone was able to connect to band 28 fine, so I found this thread to try to get that band 28 re-enabled. ticking the Band 28 option actually enables it again, but when I reboot the phone the settings don't stick. any tips? would like to get the settings to stick then, unroot then relock the bootloader so it's back to factory state. thanks in advance!
Hi could you share tutorial how to flash cn to ww rom?

During initial setup of the phone it updated to firmware 1907.33. I then searched around and followed these steps.
1. Remove Google account from phone
2. Install Asus bootloader unlock tool apk
3. Run Asus bootloader unlock tool and let it wipe the device
4. Rooted with patched IMG file from this thread (start at step 3)

Unlock BAND 20 LTE

Hello folks, i need your help to unlock the band 20 of redmi K30 5G. Currently i have Chinese rom installed .
Is a way to unlock the band 20 ? I saw new Xiaomi MI 10, if you change the rom will enable the band 20 . ( in that case is a software limitation)
In our case ?
Thank you !
Nobody can help me ?
Have you tried this method from xda /crossdevice-dev/sony/thread-progress-please-leave-im-updating-t2871269

Let us know if you're making progress... Trying the same thing with a K30 pro.
Any update? Id love to own this phone but need band 20 here in switzerland. Its the only one deactivated that i would need
People tried to unlock bands at the poco F1, but, there was no success, And people tried a lot
I found the possible files causing the restrictions on LTE and 5G bands, but I have no idea how to modify them to unlock bands.
In the policyman folder, the files:
- china_msim_restrictions.xml
- disable_nsa_mmwave_bands.xml
- lte_feature_restrictions.xml
regards
Excuse my writing (I am using Google Translate)

These files doesn't unlock B20 - this is hardware limitation. Bands are configured to nvitems but on 5G phones many things changed.
But could you please share to me your modem log file so i can list all hardware supported 4G bands to my cacombos.com website? I have here instruction how to get log file: https://mt-tech.fi/en/how-to-get-4g...phone/#Method_for_Qualcomm_Devices_after_2020 and you can send it to: https://cacombos.com/contribute . This help me understand what bands & combinations this device support.

If you change any ROMs from global to China and vice versa won't unlock the bands. This is locked down with hardware, not software. Older Qualcomm devices could unlock bands with Qualcomm tools/programs. This isn't the case with newer models.
