Just to be sure try your sim card(s) in a different phone, looks like the sim is not recognised.

[Q] My phone number is Unknown (MIUI)

Hello~ I'm using MIUI rom.
1. setting -> system -> About phone -> 'My phone number' in 'status' -> 'unknown' is seen.
2. *#*#6484#*#* (test mode) -> 'SIM id' in 'Check SIM status' -> 'unknown' is seen and it also appears in 'SIM operator name'
* In cyanogen(mod)7 ROM, I enter 'My phone number' directly and let it recognize it. But is this impossible in MIUI ROM?
(* cynogen(mod)7 ROM
Currency settings -> Additional settings = enter my numbers directly.)
Please help me solve this problem and I would really appreciate it. It makes so much trouble.
bump!
Same issue here. Can't get DeskSMS to work without the phone knowing its number... Has the option just been removed from MIUI?
Bumping again. Asked in the Bulletproof MIUI thread too. Seen others ask and get no response so far.

I had the same problem on my stock G2. I had to call support and they fixed it in a jiffy. Just had to enter in some codes from the dialpad and the number showed up.

Any idea what the codes were? What did you ask them to get the code?
I cannot remember the codes. I just told them my problem and they fixed it. Didn't have to ask them anything

Interesting. So just tell them your phone number is showing up as "unknown"?
I just had an online chat with a CS rep. He had me power off my phone a couble times and take the SIM card out while he sent OTA SIM updates. Both texts got sent confirming that the OTA was received, but number is still "Unknown".
CS rep said I'd have to go use another T-mobile phone to get the OTA then move the SIM back. Oh well. Maybe I'll load my stock 2.2 ROM and get the OTA then try again.
Sorry hear your still having probs. Techs fixed my no number instantly.

Its all miui roms. In most roms you have the option to add number in advanced settings(for phone). No such options on miui though.
Its not really a big deal

Same issue here using XboarderMOD AOSP Gingerbread v3.0.0 (Gingerbread v2.3.5)
Still no known fix for it?
My phone number has never been anything but unknown since I got my DZ, regardless if I was on OTA ROMs or customs. I haven't got into any problem that that might cause though. Everything seems to be working fine for me >.<

That's not true, my MIUI shows my number without doing anything.
I think it's related to the SIM card. Did you use the new card that came with the phone or the one from your previous phone? My mom, for example, is using the SIM that she got about 10 years ago when we signed up with T-Mobile and it shows Unknown, but I'm using the new one and it shows my number where it should.

Well you must be the only person using miui that can see their number. I've tried brand new sim and old sim. Its not a sim issue its the rom itself

having the same issue with the empty number
has anyone found a fix for this yet? i know this thread is old, but I have been having this issue since I rooted my phone. I do not have the option in settings to change my number manually, or at least can't find it. Is there a sim manager or toolbox app that would allow me to do this? I mainly need the number to show up to use Tikl

[Q] Emergency Calls Only - Still get 3g but no cals

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum, the reason i've joined is that my Galaxy Note II has a major problem with it...
Early august I rooted it, but then put it back to it's original ROM, it was working fine for a week or so, and then it wouldn't make any calls.
I can access 3g, used a different SIM card Three and it does the same thing. I've rebooted it from scratch about 4/5 times.
Today I found it in my drawer and wanted to try it again, I put my SIM card in and the same thing still happens.
Any suggestions?7
My
AP: N7100XXDME6
CP: N710XXDMF1
CSC N7100XXDMF1
My screen is cracked at the top left corner of the phone, at first I thought I might have broken the aerial, but then how would my 3g work?
Thanks!
So what happens when you try to make call? Does it say not registered on network, give a different error message or something?

It says "not registered on a network"
Thanks.
What about your IMEI ? Most probably it will be fine as you still able to use 3G. In certain when IMEI is correct and you are unable to make Call, possibilities are
1.Device get banned due to tempered IMEI (usually happens if you have purchased old and may be stolen)
2.Network locked.
Talk to your operator about these.

Hi Thanks for the reply,
I did buy it from the market, it can't be locked as it doesn't work on a different carrier so I don't know why that would be?
Can you change the IMEI number on the device at all???

Best not to ask this question.
Changing the ID of a phone IS ILLEGAL.
Dr.ketan is the expert but, as long as your phone is not blocked. whenever I get that error, I simply go into settings do a network search and then re register on my network. I presume you've tried that already?
Edit - did you read this thread?

is anyone having this same issue on their note 3? when i get a call, the caller id displays the persons number plus ";oli=63". what is that? i need help
Caller ID
Mine shows the name and number only. Are you using the premium version with name and number? There is a 30 day trial.

You have WiFi Calling ON? turn it off and see if that resolves the issue.
Seems like they are not going to fix it
Yep, noticed that the other day. Weird part about it was, it was a person who I talk with daily & her name didn't show up, like an unknown caller, even though she's listed in "Contacts". Definitely a WiFi thing though.

I have tmobile too, and been having the problem since last week. I disabled wifi calling, and the problem still happens.
Tmobile put up a "fix" here:
http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-9456
I did try this, but the problem still happens. Apparently, they are working on a patch to fix the issue.
It is quite irritating since I don't memorize anyone's cell number when they call with ;63 at the end

Yup mine too.. but only when I connect to wifi... annoying as fak..

I am having the same problem. The only remedy is to turn off wifi calling and to also turn off wifi itself. This is obviously not ideal. I hope that a fix is released quickly.

Try enabling Airplane mode on and then off..Volte will come back if u r using Jio sim. My Honor 8 Pro sometimes has this issue where Volte disappears and I am not able to make calls. In such case, jus switch on and off the Airplane mode..Volte will reappear.

The problem is volte is enabled and logo is visible but the moment call button is touched, the call goes and cuts in an instant. Therefore, a miss call goes to the other person.

oh is it. I did not face any such issue. My calls went through smoothly. Even now i called a Jio number and the sound quality was crystal clear unlike when calling to other networks. Only time I faced issue calling from Jio was when Volte logo was not there and i had to switch on airplane mode on and off to bring back that Volte symbol.

As of now, Jio calls are working fine without any issues.
However there has been a issue with Jio to Jio calling. Huawei acknowledges this fact.
In the recent update rolled out for Honor 6x, this was fixed. The first update to Honor 8 Pro is expected to carry this fix.

Nope. You can't natively video call through dialer.

There is no option yet to make video calls but volte works fine. Huawei is made awarw of it already so we may, or may not, get this feature in upcoming updates.
