Here's an experimental port of Lineage 15.1 for the Galaxy E5. I dont own or touched the device so if it doesnt work at all, the ROM is dead. Plz test and give last_kmsg and logcats if it gets on bootloop or stucks at splash logo.

After 1 minute of being stuck at splash, reboot to recovery and with file manager, copy last_kmsg(it is located inside proc folder) to your sd card and send it to me.
My tools have few issues with MSM8916 devices i think.

Its better to be built from source. My PC though is very underpowered and i dont wanna download 50gigs for a device i dont own.
I also have to figure out why my tools suck on MSM8916 devices because TW-MM for GP and this project depends on them.
Ill contact Carlos Arriga from GP for guidance on MSM8916 kernels.

I appreciate your efforts, but it's better if you build rom los15.1 from the source, we just need los15.1 built from the source.
and do not say port rom is better than rom built from source,
You know, if you want to do a port rom, you must have rom aosp built from the source
and for gp I guarantee rom tw Nouget-MM will never be stable

No, I built the Lineage 15.1 kernel from source with E5's Defconfig and the LOS15.1 ROM is received from their buildserver, no need of AOSP base as every driver i need is in e5 vendor and device tree repo's. I know source built is better but there wouldn't be any great change at all.
Now i want last_kmsg so i can find why it is stuck at splash screen.
Ill also check Jackeagle's los 14.1 kernel to do a check.

Try it by yourself. I dont own the device. I just have some proper knowledge on doing this.
Even if its built from source, everything will be the same. Also like Rio, my PC isnt capable of building. The kernel is Galaxy-MSM8916 Oreo built for E5 by me.
If it is getting stuck on bootanimation or splash screen, go to TWRP file manger and give me tombstones(located in data) and most importantly last_kmsg(located in proc). I really need those files to continue working.

Anybody got a last_kmsg??? You know i cant progress without it.
It is located in proc folder, after getting stuck on splash screen, reboot to TWRP and use its file manager to copy it on your SD-Card.

no files named last_kmsg
just on file name only kmsg but icant copy it to external sd it it shoes process ended with error -1
and there was no file named tombstone in data

How to flash:
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Marshmallow. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
Requirements:
Make sure you have been on latest Sony STOCK at least once!!!
Custom recovery (TWRP)
Clean flash if coming from another ROM (no dirty flash)

Don't do it if you don't know it
Don't freak out if you have a black screen for a minute or so after Sony splash on first boot!
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows Sony AOSP source (3.10) with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
NO OTA ON UNOFFCIAL BUILDS
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.

Still have Issues?
You could try to flash some KitKat-Stock and let it OTA all the way up to 5.1.1
Stuck at starting Apps?
Just wait! and / or use a smaller GAPPS package!
Device freezes when Idle? (Using cam doesn't count!)
Ampere can cause some issues, better not to use it's widgets!
Otherwise freezing should be fixed... If you are still getting freezes on the regular, avoid using DT2W and Anbient Display and report!

i have one annoying bug.
When im using phone, sometimes screen turns off and i must 2 times press power button.

The phone asked me to check unknown sources
But when open Setting force stop always
I must start Setting from app drawer and enable unknown sources
I want to mention that the camera has greatly improved
But only one bug
The screen while using turning black, I must wait it to get back or lock and unlock screen

I guess the app-crash is an cm error.
You're right I have the display bug too but at the moment no idea what's the reason causing it. It's only a few times after reboot am I right?

Can't enter Recovery maybe need fix
For some reasons I can't update TA

You can enter recovery if device is powered off by pressing vol down and power at the same time.
This has changed by flashing the last stock rom.

I can't speak for xposed as I haven't tried to install it.I'll try to see what that's all about though.
I have not had the data usage provider crash on me however,so I don't know what to say about that.

Yeah, I've never used this ROM before, but I really really like it.
You can't find kminilte on the AICP download page because it is not officially supported.I just built it for our device as a request really. So it's completely normal that's it's not on the download page there.

FM-Radio is something that afaik is missing because of missing drivers. So at this point only way to use it is sticking to stock rom. Else you can try internet radio apps. Nevermind..apparently the phone doesnt even have a radio receiver :angel: never used stock, I guess there wont be a radio-app as well, can someone confirm that?

At this point AICP, as slim6 only has a few customization features yet. My personal favorite, though, is ResurrectionRemix

I mostly agree with this.Depends what you want though.Slim is well..slim
They have added more customization though.I need to update slim..Alpha 0.4 is broken,so I'm hoping alpha 0.5 will work.
@zaworka turned me on to RR.It was my favorite.I have been using this however and like it a lot.All personal preference.
I just built OctOs ROM and am currently using that now.I like it a lot as well. I just like trying new things perhaps.I will post that up here if all seems good with it after I test a little bit.

This is a kernel problem and not from the ROM itself.
I have that too.
With the Elite kernel @ Nightmare running 2 kernels normal but the other two still run on full throttle.
more important question for me is what Source Code are they using?
It seems to be from the "official" unofficial cyanogen mod forums...

The only way I had limited the CPU was to set the power saver mode . I used elite kernel and ex kernel manager.

One thing to note is the trees have forced encryption by default... I don't like encryption so my builds have it set as decryptable (no encryption by default).
BTW the kernel is based on N HTC source on newest build and boots on both M & N firmware (but as we know no twrp on N firmware yet)

I'm running a build now with all the newest cm/Gerrit commits, I'll upload it in a bit. I'll check cpu but on last build its still 100% on with screen on. Screen off it sleeps fine

you cant use the latest twrp with this rom as i know of and you cant get this version just by going into rom section heres a link with all the information http://www.cyanogenmods.org/forums/topic/htc-10-cm14-cyanogenmod-14-nougat-rom/ please update this in the first post and give credits to Dennis Lebhardt (rc420head) with the source code

Have the rom installed. Have to say it's spot on, few quibbles. But excellent, I knocked the cpu down in performance and I've had decent battery life.. Any reason why this hasn't been put up in the rom section yet?

just found something, the cpu issue only came about for me after updating my firmware from 1.85 to 1.95. can anyone with s-off confirm?

I think he means you need to be on stock MM firmware before flashing. If you have been using CM 13/14 then you can flash this without errors.

Yes, All the ROMs having 7.1.1 has battery draining issues. If you want better battery backup switch to 6.0
I see OctOS, AICP, AOKP has some little bit good battery...
The battery issue on 7.1 will improve in the future?
The other ROMs that you mentioned above is 7.1??

I'm using this ROM since past one month and continuing the same.. I hope we get new features soon in the updates. I don't have VoLTE SIM so don't know about working/non-working can you confirm the same .. As one of my frd want to flash this ROM and asking for VoLTE support !!!!

Some themes gets overlapping so can't see the result quickly .. I have to un-install previous theme and need to re start the phone to apply.

I checked but the two repositories (https://github.com/EngMoHamd/android_device_xiaomi_olive and https://github.com/J0SH1X/android_device_xiaomi_olive) seem to be unrelated. Same tree but different commits, too. Might be something gained by comparing?

That tree u posted has some bugs I tested it before now before am working on my tree to fix any bugs and my tree is 16.0 not 17 my tree is from scratch based on xiaomi redmi 7a pine device and all device tree is looks the same lol we dont make magic haha am working on that tree since along ago before anybody as I remember

Same happened to me last nite, I'll save you some time or try .. download miflash tool , find the flashable file for your phone version (in my case It was global rom) and flash it. Took me a bit of searching but you will find what you need.

No idea what happened, I've been outta the game for awhile... not alot of anything for redmi 8. Im just going to stick with stock rom with lawnchair launcher for that "Google" feel.

First you cleaning up all your data and then reboot twrp and you go advance and search ADB sideload and then you on your PC and you do something else and then complete you back twrp and press reboot twrp again and you install lineage 17.1 os and install the gapps after complete you reboot devices and enjoy the Lineage os

You shared a device tree,unknow status,no rom to test
You complain another tree is unstable
Now you say you faced so much error when build rom with this tree
You blame kernel from micode is not working fine(i checked kernel from micode , it fine,i can compile kernel in few minute, no bug so far, little bug but can solve)
After that, you have unstable tree
