Review - Anker Bluetooth headphones that support aptX - Google Pixel 2 XL Accessories

I just wanted to share this here. I posted it on the regular pixel 2 forum but I'm using these Anker bluetooth headphones.
fits great and hasn't fallen out plus it comes with multiple sized rubber pieces to help your fit.
they support aptX.
hold about a 7 hour charge
have good sound
comes with a case and charging cord
they could use a bit more bass but i don't mind too much.
magnetic back side to keep them around your neck.
overall for the price I think they are a great purchase.

i have got this too. really very happy with the purchase!

How is the sound quality for an audiophile? Like I'm assuming it doesn't compare to stuff like the Jay birds?

They look like a rebrand of the Tao Tronics. I have a set of them for the gym and the sound quality is very good for the price.

Yeah anything in the $30 range is gonna sound fine enough especially for casual or active use. I have the Anker SoundBuds Curve which sound pretty good for the price but can't compare them to my Philips SHP9500S or Audio Technica M50. They're loud, clear, have some bass, great battery and no audio delay when watching YouTube.

I had this earbud for a while, and I really like it. The sound is not audiophile level, but it got much better after I swapped the tips with Comply foam tips. I'm assuming the foam tips expand to fit the ear canal better.

yea the buds come with a bunch of tips too to find your comfort fit.

these headphones I mentioned in the original post are now on sale with code LGVDRPV3 !

Yes, they do. There's a few guys at work that have "different" headphones that all look like the TaoTronics.
For an audiophile these are not great. They're great for the price, but the bass is lacking, even for a non-basshead, and is a little muddy.

well they are good for the price with good enough battery life for certain occasions.

Unknown good headphones

Ok guys what headphones (tht arent bose, beats, kliptsch, b%w, sh, etc mass brand) u own and tht are good?
I have JVC extreme explosives and they are waaaay sick! (JVC is indeed a well known brand but not for headphones)
~§~
I got a pair of Philips for $12 off Amazon that have lasted me half a year so far (no damage or anything). Way longer than any pair of in-ear headphones I've had before.
Sorry guys, i'm a sucker for Klipsch headphones.
The V-Moda Crossfade M-80 on-ear headphones. They are pricey though (at $200/ set), but they are built like a tank and are the best headphones I've heard to date.
i owned a bose headphone w/ noise cancellation, the older version w/o the battery .. awesome bass.
Skullcandy by all means <3

Rocketfish Bluetooth headphones. $59. All controls are on the left headphone. Volume, skip / reverse, pause, phone answer. They fit great. I use them for jogging and working out and they don't fall off or slip and move around. The sound quality is great and a full charge last 10-12 hours. I highly recommend them.

I have a $25 pair of sennheisers, I love them, great quality and it has this little clip that makes the cord 1/3 the length to prevent tangling, it's I'd say 60% effective, but still it helps.

Me too. The sound is out of this world. The treble is simply astonishing! I was able to improve the fit, and save cost on comply foams, by stuffing the comply foam inside the silicon tips. This saves me buying a pack of new ones every two months.
But seriously, these are the best sounding IEM's I've ever heard. Lol at the people who buy bose or beats instead .

The B&W really aren't that good. You can look some reviews on them at head-fi. The really should only cost €100 or something. You pay for the looks instead of sound quality. The thing only uses one dynamic driver, and while that can turn out pretty well, like in for example the sennheiser IE8, it is not the case for the B&W.

Ultimate Ears are awesome.
I have a pair of NuForce NE-700X (sans microphone, which is the M model) and I just finished the requisite 50 hour burn in. They sound incredible, and after trying different sizes of tips, I finally settled on some that isolate well.

best earbuds for galaxy s3

so i hear this question all the time, for every phone. i personally use $15 sony earbuds, but if you are looking for the best and dont mind spending money....
The Most Intense Ear Buds Sennheiser Has Ever Made will run you about $1000 according to reviews, but i haven't found anywhere to buy them...
If you are trying to save money, the IE80's will run you under $400
but seriously, i think they have some for under $20 also =)
Well I must say that ie80's working great together with sgs3...

Picked up the Monster Turbine Gold's for $140 on sale at Amazon a while back... love em!
Audio is extremely subjective. Not everyone has the same hearing, the same sound signature preferences or even budget for that matter. Headfi is a good place to get started, but in order to appreciate the sound of the headphones, words are not nearly enough You'll have to give them a listen yourself.
I own 3 headphones I use with my S3.
1st. Samsung Infuse Earphones that came with that phone when I got it back in March. Works good for me honestly.
2nd. Motorola S9-HD 1stGen. Bluetooth. Yeah they actually still work even with all my sweat in them. Sounds good but can't get good bass cause I lost my large ear cushions for them.
3rd. My Motorola S805? I believe that came with my Giro snowboarding helmet 3 years ago. Those things are also still kicking!!!
Yeah I take care of my stuff. Honestly though, clear sound is important, but holy flippin' crap I'm not spending $400 for music listening!!!
I find my s3 oem is good enough for daily use . I also have klipsch x10 which is amazing for its size the only thing bad about the klipsch is the built quality other than that the sound is superb !

I too think the Earbuds that come with the phone is good enough. Used with PowerAmp, I get good bass and treble out of the hip hop/Spanish music I listen to

I have two different pairs that I use for my gs3. For my everyday buds I use the klipsch s4a which has the in line mic and controls. Then I have my Shure SE-535's which I used to use on stage as IEM. I love them I also have an older pair of Shure SCL-4's laying around somewhere.
Waiting for some money, then I'm getting Jays a-Jays One+. Had the ordinary One until it died, superb sound and phenomenal bass. Courtesy of my SGS and Voodoo Sound

I have some Logitech UE 300vm's that I just picked up and they are the finest pair of relatively inexpensive ear buds I have ever owned. Sound quality is amazing with structural quality to match. IE800 are much, much better:
http://en-de.sennheiser.com/ie-800
They can be fitted with a cable that works 100% with Samsung Galaxy S series phones.
I have used Audeo Phonak PFE 022 and cannot recommend them: the mic is really not very good and the sound quality left me wanting compared to even Sennheiser's low end line, like mm70i.
There really aren't very many good mic-headsets that work with Galaxy S III without any additional adapter cables and w/ full inline remote controls.
I use my beats from my rezound.

Are you using any kind Portable Amplifier with your IE80?
Loving my Rock-It R50's, but it really depends what kind of music you listen to.
check out http://www.head-fi.org
Currently, Shure SE315 's. Next week I'll have VSonic GR07. However for the high-end IEM's mentioned here. What's your complete setup? Please.
SE315, Paid version of Equalizer
(fx music off) and most importantly is my fiio E6 Portable Amplifier (best $25 I've ever spent)
The IE80's, Shure 535's mentioned, please what kind of setup?
I was about to purchase the Westone 4r but the VSonic GR07 are too highly rated at half the price with the FiiO E11, It will be the music I've ever heard. But these new small portable Amplifier give us the power needed.

That is your opinion, I've compared beats to skull candy side by side and personally for the price and the customer support I get from skullcandy I would take them over beats any day. Now to your comment on them buying knock off headphones and putting their logo on it, do you have any proof of this? If you have only used there 20$ head phones yes, they are cheap, built cheap, and not meant to last 10 years. I personally got the SkullCandy Titans and adore them. The speakers can handle any type of music I push through them and, being that the buds are made of metal they last a very long time. The best part is, if anything happens to them, like one side stops working, skullcandy will replace your headset for free. It is a very easy process to get them replaced too.

Dude you compare skullcandy to beats both of which are overpriced and not nearly as good as other brands. I'm sorry but I am an audiophile, have been for years. I have extensive audio systems at home and in my car, so I know what I am talking about.
http://www.head-fi.org/t/470384/skullcandy
This is THE forum for sound quality, so if they say they suck then they suck. Sorry man, but it's great that you are pleased by their headphones, keep buying them. Also I have owned a set of Titans, I friend gave them to me last year and they are terrible. One of the headphones has lower volume than the other and compared to even my low end set of Sony's they are trash.
With Beats and Skullcandy you are paying for the name and nothing more. Anyone who knows anything about audio will not buy either of these brands. I personally have studio grado headphones and they trounce anything else I have tried. Sure they might not look as good as the others, but they sound immensely better.
I'm sorry but you shouldn't have to replace your headphones. The only time I have ever had my earbuds break is when I tear the cord, the brands I buy have never had one of them go out. That is a sign of shoddy construction.

Shures are great for sound quality but not for bass, so if that is what you are looking for then you might want to try Sennheiser or Ultimate Ears (though they are owned by Logitech now and may not be built as well) or Sony. FIIO amps are good, but be careful where you buy it from because there are crummy knockoffs out there being sold as the real deal.
Klipsch is good too, just check out the Head-fi forums and look for what you want in the sound. Many headphones sound good, but don't have enough bass for people's taste.

Yep, the same connector I will do a sound test to make sure it sounds all good as well. That would have been fantastic for those with Note 2 and custom cable that has Samsung volume and multi-function control. But the original Westone twisted cable is by far the best I have seen, which most likely will be a benefit to SE and UE users if you can buy it as an accessory.
Btw, that warm sound signature is really growing on me!!! And their design/fitment is so comfortable!!!
Excellent. Are these a keeper or review only?

Thank you very much for the review. I owned the Westone UM2, W3 and W4 for around 5 years now and I can´t be more please with their sound. I would like to change my W4r for this W40 but I am not sure if the sound quality is exactly the same. According to Westone they are but... :S.
I am also interested in the cable but as I use Android I don´t think it works with previous/skip song buttons. Btw, I didn´t know that they included 2 pair of cables, that´s a big bonus!

I tested the remote with Galaxy Note 2 and it works perfect!!! As a matter of fact, every iDevice in-line remote always works with my Galaxy phone. Volume up/down will not work, those are dedicated iDevice buttons with specific internal resistor values. But multi-function button always works for play/pause/call and transport control. By default, double-tap always skip the track forward. You can download free JAYS app for headphone control and in there configure and fine tune multi-function control to even triple-tap to skip back. Also, long press starts Google NOW.
But to be honest, I have been enjoying braided cable too much. Absolutely love it!!!! Plus, keep in mind since Westone changed the connector to "universal" rotating type used by Shure and Ultimate Ears, you have a lot of replacement choices. You can check out my UE900 thread where I did review of alternative cables from Lunashops. They are cheap and will not offer any sound improvement but will have dedicate android controls, like a specific one for Samsung Galaxy with volume up/down working! I'm also waiting for FiiO guys to send me RC-SE1 silver-plated audio cables that work with Shure/UE and now with new Westone W-series. Those supposed to offer sound improvement!!! Will review it as soon as I get it. Supposed to receive it together with X5 review unit
Regarding sound quality. I can't compare it to W4 model, but I can tell you that everything that I have reviewed (check out my full review link in the signature) such as ATH-M50, M-80, M-100, MOMENTUM, P7, COP, UE600, UE900, HF2, ATH-CKX9 and CKX7, M-Duo, ATLAS, and other cheap stuff - doesn't even come close in comparison to sound quality of W40. It's like a fine wine, gets better with more hours of burn in. The soundstage widened, the mids came up (still not upfront like UE900, but it's not as scooped as it was at the beginning), and overall level of details improved. What is amazing, the sound quality is perfect listening even to 128kbps mp3s directly from my noisy headphone jack of ThinkPad laptop.
I'm trying to get SE535 review sample just to have the final comparison, but I seriously doubt they will be better than W40 because everybody describes them as more upper-mids upfront and more neutral accurate bass. W40 has bass accuracy, even some sub-bass quantity (I guess dedicated 2 bass drivers), so both quality and quantity of overall bass. Not basshead type of quantity but intelligent quantity where you actually can hear it (missing link of UE900). I know I gushing about it, but they are just perfect where you have combination of both details and warmths.
Also, heard from Westone PR rep that W30 will be available soon. Of course, W40 is a perfection, but for $100 less W30 will be a good alternative.
If you are going to get W40, I would love to hear comparison between W40 and W4.
Thanks for this review, should be helpful!

Westone guys said that drivers between W4 and W40 are identical. Btw, when I first plugged these IEMs in, I wasn't as impressed either (after listening to UE900 beforehand), but burn in brought up a lot of details, and it continues to improve day by day.

Hi could you please elaborate/explain more about the W40's bass quality and quantity compared to the W4? I'm deciding between the um 30 pro and the W40 but I just can't do without a good strong bass quantity. Would you say that the W40s offers more kick and punches/ bass slam quantity than the W4? I just love that rich and tight quantity of bass the um 30 pro provide when i went to audition it, it gives me that superb kick and punches or what you can call a sweet bass slam with crisp clear mids and highs but that soundstage is pretty closed up which is the main part i'm worried about.

I can tell you it has more bass than UE900, both in quantity and quality, it has almost the same bass as UE600 (in quantity, but NOT quality), and it has less bass than M-Duo, CX985, and ATH-CKX9is I tested. But those are 3 have more bass in quantity but NOT quality/details, and they lack overall balanced sound quality especially in mids and overall details across all frequencies. At the same time, UE900 is more surgically accurate in mids and treble, but it sounds colder and I get more ear fatigue after extended listening period. Since I can only speak from an experience of listening/testing/comparing those headphones in my review list and based on my listening preference, if I can only keep on headphone - it would definitely be W40. Btw, I'm talking to Shure guys and might get a chance to receive review sample of SE535 and SE215, keeping my fingers crossed. W40 vs SE535 with UE900 thrown in the mix would be a very good comparison. But I also very interested to hear SE215 since its one of the best values in this single BA driver category.
To be honest, when it comes to bass or any other sound aspects, it's always a matter of personal taste and the type of music you are listening to. I love Tyll's reviews on Innerfidelity because he always captures frequency response for every headphones he tests. That's where you can actually see an unbiased comparison of quantity in different frequency bands.
Thanks vectron, for your detailed experience! So based on your experience, how would you rate the W40 in terms of quantity/slam/kick/punches? (Poor/Below Average/Average/Above Average/Great Quantity)

I now have both W4R and the brand new W40 and I have to say that I am very (VERY!) disappointed with the sound. Compared with the W4 they are less clear, with a deep bass. They sound more obscure in general, with less details... I hope it changes after a few hours...

Hi frozst, I see that you've both the W4R and W40, could you share your thoughts on the bass department as well? Does it have more bass quantity/slam/kick/punches than the W4R?
Also to all, between um 30 pro and W40, which offers more bass quantity/slam/kick/punches? I understand that the um 30 pro's bass is more forward sounding than the W40, could it be due to this effect that the W40's bass seems to be offering less slam? (Since it is slightly laid back in the soundstage)

LEPBH301 - Seems to be good Bluetooth earphones by LeEco/Letv

Hello, I have just ordered this earphones:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100...hones-with-Mic-for-Letv-Max2/32752435614.html
Some detailed info here:
https://fccid.io/2AFOY-LEPBH301
The device is based on good chip supporting aptx.
Maybe someone will be interested. The price is good for me (27.86 USD).
Love to hear how you get on.
I have got it. At first try I was a litte bit sceptical but after changing rubber ends to bigger it is more than OK. Big, but not too big, bass, very many details I can hear in my favourite music. Very well spent 30 USD. Are well mounted in ears.

Thank you for the feedback. Have you tried to talk to someone via those earphones while driving on highway? If yes how does they work?
Thank you

Just ordered, hopefully they fit my ears well. I had some Meizu EP51 earphones before which would have been great except for the fact none of the supplied tips gave a good seal
Even cheaper and more colours:

I'm used to skullcandy bass, how does this bass compares to that? Also are they loud enough? Thanks.

Hello. I do not use it on max volume usually. Battery performance is about 6h
I'm waiting for mine, have already been shipped, hope the sound isn't too disappointing, i'm already prepared for them not sounding as good as my wired earphones...
I use the AKG Y50BT, also support AptX. Great sound and comforable, especially for on-ear headphones. They're also great foe phonecalls.

How did you like the tips? I hated the tips with this headset. But I had some tips Awei which fits me good.
I find the them bassy, but not muddy as some cheap Chinese tend to be. A very good buy for the price.
For those of you who like me prefer traditional tips, there are lots of cheap and decent tips on AliExpress.
some I've ordered but still wait for.
