[Q] Yellow Streak Not Spots

Hi Dudes,
I replaced my HTC One X today with a new one because the gsensor failed for some unknown reason. Anyway I got home and started re installing all my apps, then did the 28 software update and restarted. Its then that I noticed a yellow streak on the left hand side of the screen. It almost looks like glue or a screen bleed, you can really see it on a white background or a grey background but also
Im unsure If i should see if it is glue and maybe it just needs to dry out by using the phone a lot for the next week or replacing it yet again.... Im starting to loose patience with the One X now.
Has anyone else had this green streak issue and is it normal?
Should I turn the brightness up to make for an hour and leave the screen running?
My old HTC Desire was more reliable than this....

Is it glue or something mate? Its odd.
Looks like everything else on the ONE X is working great now though. (touch wood)
Screen seems as excellent as ever. Just the yellow smear/streak.
Will leave it a few days and see what happens man.
in many discussion about this problem, peoples think that problem with glue.
And can appear when phone get hot.
not saw it on my phone when playing in terga games + charging in same time.
but my phone goes to me 2 week, may be glue well dried before was used

My phone heats up fine and no other yellow streaks appear (its not a spot but a streak). Its constantly there also. Will see how it goes in the next few days.
I ment to say that this yellow smear is allways on the screen but no more seem to appear when it heats up. I hope it goes away. Has anyone else had this small yellow smear issue on the screen?
I got home and started re installing all my apps, then did the 28 software update and restarted. Its then that I noticed a yellow streak on the left hand side of the screen - It happends exactly the same to me , and what did i do was going back my phone today , and seller says that I don't believe it will disappear and gave me the new one , I'm happy with my new phone but it's grey , not beautiful white :/ , if u are able to return it , just go to return

[Q] No response from screen.. Is my GNex paralysed??

Hello all. I woke up one morning and found my GNex laying in a puddle of water (radiator leak) struggling for life. I picked her up, dried her off carefully, took her clothes off and wiped her dry before finishing of with the hairdryer.
She slowly came back to life over the next day or two. Her face was a bit blurred but soon came back to perfection. Her charging socket and power button needed replacing and a gentle clean of all internal connections seemed have everything working fine again.
Few days later she developed a bit of a problem, her face (screen) was becoming unresponsive, sometimes was just a short delay before coming to life, sometimes no delay, sometimes a couple of minutes before everything became responsive again. This would always happen on start up and sometimes when she was active.
Problem is, now there is no response at all, totally catatonic.
I was able to plug her into the other darling in my life (laptop!!) and reset her mind totally clean using Galaxy Nexus Toolkit, in case it was a problem with one of her apps but now she is just stuck on the first set up page (country selection) and still totally unresponsive to my touch.
Is she paralysed for ever and would be best taken to one of those Swiss doctors for a comfortable exit from this world or can she somehow be brought back to responding to my touch?????

If she doesn't come back, sounds like the screen digitizer could be bad and need replacing but I could be wrong.
Yes, I have thought that, but it is not an option as too expensive.. Cheapest screen and digi I see on ebay currently is about £80... Re-sell value of the complete phone is only about £150 now.

very very true was going to say that but I was sure you already knew that!
Any other thoughts???
guess not.
disassemble your gnex and clean every part and connector with a soft teeth brush
Tried that... still no response from screen
Use a paralyze heal! Wait...
Seriously though, you've done everything you could've done short of replacing the digitizer.

Dropped my HOX and have brightness problem

Just as i was expecting the OTA update something more serious happened this morning to take my mind off the update.
To cut a long story short I dropped my HOX on the side walk.
The phone landed on the bottom so appart from a tiny scratch in the lower right corner of the plastic no other problem or so I thought.
I unlocked the phone and everything looked fine.
Then I put it back in my pocket but thaught let me check the side rocker key as well.
To my surprise HOX was off and would not turn on.
I came back home and connected the charger and suddenly the phone started working BUT the brightness of the screen is really really low.
You can barely see and some times brightness (even this low one) is lost completely or it flickers(the brightness) up and down.
I checked the brightness controls and they are all as they should be.
I suspect that the battery probably is causing this and the HOX will have to take a trip to service but I was wondering if any of you guys have any ideas to avoid this.
Thanks in advance for your time
Well if you are very good with opening up mobile devices I would give it a try and see if there's any loose connections.
On the other hand, i've never opened a phone and if I were in your shoes I would probably just send it in for repair so you'll know that it'll be fixed for sure . No joy in risking your warranty and see that something else is wrong in your device..

It's FAR more likely you've damaged the panel behind the exterior, very likely the backlight itself if everything else is working properly.
You can replace the screen independent of the phone but getting a genuine, just-as-good-as-original screen is...hit and miss. AT BEST.
Send it for an official repair.

[Q] After small drop, screen wont turn on.

Phone fell maybe a foot and a half, and landed on the corner on a concrete floor. No Idea what the charge on the battery was, had fallen asleep with it unplugged. Screen wont turn on. The hardware buttons work. I can slide to unlock it and hear all the normal clicks.
Download mode, recovery mode, or powered down and plugged in, nothing. No screen at all. I see no damage.
I am on the jump plan, and don't have any significant data on the device. I have tripped knox.
What are my options? Everything I read about is solutions to prevent it from doing it during normal use. In this case, it is gone completely. Should I try to reflash something? I'm going to let it sit and charge while watching Game of Thrones, than I'll be back.
Thanks
Nick
[EDIT] I'm using Slim rom v17, with their recommended kernel.
just went to look at it before going upstairs. Hit the on button and a one pixel tall green line of various colors of green slide from the right to the left about half way up the screen and faded away.
Game over?

I'd smack it with my hand a few times for hopes it knocks stuff back inti place. LolLol it sounds like you are skrewed in my opinion, I'd just bring that bad boy back into tmob and say it stopped working by itself and grab another note3 ya know? That's just my opinion, and probably the easiest since you have insurance already.
Yeah, that's my plan. Still a shame, I've never had a phone die on me. Normally baby the hell out of them.
Going to be a long cold night....lol... I need a gf. =P

LG G3 screen sensitivity FIX

My screen started having all those kind of dead spots where i just couldn't use anymore, and the touch would just jump to the closest area around the dead spot.
I was looking all over for solutions and most of the solutions I've read about (Factory reset and so on) were no effective.
Anyway, I saw this video "Lg g2 ghost touch and dead spot on the Touchscreen" where in one of the comments one guy suggested using the spark mechanism of lighters to give a few sparks to the screen.
I put a coin on the dead spot of the screen and gave a few hits with the sparky thing and it actually worked!!!
I hope this could be helpful to other users, although I have absolutely no idea how it works, but it did. I'm amazed.
So I have had my G3 32gb version for almost a year and this problem popped out of no where 4 days ago. I did exactly what you did and to my surprise it worked lol.:good::good::good:

an or not i hae his issue since today, he touch doesnt respond totally and the only thing i can do is turn on and turn off the screen on rear buttons, and sure i have to press it about 8 seconds to reboot the devide and then the touchscreen is working fine, but after some 1h of sleep screen it dont respond again...i dont know if this are the same problem of yours but is very annoying!
you need to dismantle a " press to spark " lighter and remove the piezoelectric spark generator ( small black bar with a wire in the middle ) , spray some window cleaner on the touchscreen and put a finger along the edge of the display while sparking on the dead spots . the current will go through the screen into your finger .
And your dead spot or dead strip is gone by doing this?
I purchased lg g3 from olx and didnt check it properly whn i bought it home the screen test show a long dead strip i used a coin and put it on the screen and give 2 3 spark with a lighter and it worked my dead strip work again lpoint to b noted i didnt switch off mobile i do it on a battry thank u so much i was going to change my degitizer
wow you are genius thanks very much
Holy ... This totaly works huge THANKS
Hello guys!
I just wanted to ask you about the safety precautions. I mean should i remove the battery or just turn off the phone or the process can be done when the phone is on?
I was totally skeptical about this, but one click on the piezo ignition and back to life! Battery left on, and had my drawing program open.
im totally confused, is there a video showing a process of this? this sounds very dangerous.. lighter.. ignition, fire
Hi I also have LG G3 and face same dead spot issue on my screen, after reading this I tried spark mechanism and its worked, but again after sometime same problem is occurred. Is there any permanent solution for this
Didn't work on me. Is there some special requirement before doing this?
