Camera quality .. Has anyone achieved any amazing pictures ?? - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

I am a long term iPhone user and have just moved to the s9 plus (had 8 plus before this) i thought the camera on the iPhone 8 plus was fantastic but the 9 plus blows it away
Went out today and had a watermelon cake yes u read right a water melon cake to say it was fit was a understanding but o shot a pic of the almost finished cake with food mode and the picture colour was so life like it's untrue
Has anyone else got any pics they want to share

[Q] Camera disimprovements 4.0.4

Hello,
I updated my Galaxy Nexus manually with the "official" Rom, but since I got android 4.0.4 my camera does have shutter lag instead of android 4.0.2. Is this normal, or did I download the wrong Rom he he?
Thanks in advance

I'm experiencing the same exact problem. I loved the 0 shutter lag and desperately need it back. Can anyone please help? Or share some way to fix this problem? Thanks ahead
0 shutter lag has been reduced to get better focus image
a well focused images is better, even if it need a bit more time to take the pic
stop complaining for everything

I can't wait till I get 4.0.4. That's one thing I've found with my galaxy nexus, 90% of my photos turn out ever so slightly blurred

manually flash it. and i agree, whats the point in 0 shutter if all the pictures are going to come out not focused and not clear?
i rather have a more stable camera with better picture quality.
quality over quantity
Now that you mention it, I think my pictures are a tiny bit better on 4.0.4 (Verizon version). Might just be the placebo effect...

I'm still a little iffy about manual flashing. I have the yakjuux version and I don't know if flashing to 4.0.4 yakju will screw anything up

It won't. You'll just lose all of your data.

Excuse me? Complaining about everything? I just noticed the difference and that's why I asked.

well, if you cant complain then ill do it for you, I wouldnt mind having the lag taken away BUT this was a feature, and if the feature didnt work, then its not a feature, so when I was excited about the phone last year, and I heard it was 5mp, I was let down, but then I was sold on 0 shutter lag, now the lag is back so we might have not even talked about the camera last year like it was special.
you cant sell a 1000hp car, first in the market, then after 3 months recall them to govern the engine to 750hp and still get credit for being a ground breaking car, so why should i give any credit to nexus for doing something special with the camera.
I used the time lapse feature today, what a JOKE! you need it propped up, and put it in airplane mode so that a text wont ruin your video, the screen stays on the whole time, you cant turn it off, and the smallest increment is 1 second, i washed dishes for a couple hours and had a 3 minute video that was a pain to watch because there was a window in the room that the camera adjusted for and me the focus was all dark.
I do like the built in photo editing, and the use of facial recognition, but when i saw the nexus get demolished by the one x, i cried, and now with 4.0.4 lagging more just to be a usable 5 mp camera, i think owners have the right to complain that a front page feature has been toned down for stability. though ultimately we want better pictures.
Focus once, don't move, take pictures in a bright area = insta pics.
I take them all the time.
Could you imagine how many EXTRA complaints there would be if it never focused?

This exactly. I take a lot of pictures of moving objects (my kids). Pre 4.0.4 they were *terrible*. They were so poor I bought an Xperia S for the camera. Post 4.0.4 they are now clear and of great quality (on par with the 12MP camera in the Xperia S which is no slouch). Let it focus and snap away. Move, refocus, repeat.
If you are rubbish photographer/videographer why blame the camera?
Like - I pointed camera at a window and everything else was dark. Doh.
Actually i was very disappointed with the camera i was like 5mp bullsh... Even my old 2mp blackberry bold camera took better pictures, with this 5mp crap camera i could not take a single good picture, im not a big fan of taking pictures so i just nevermind it, after reading they improved the camera i tried and damn, all my pictures looks awesome now

Few words to smart People, i managed to take better pictures with my bb bold's 2mp camera before Google would upgrade the 5mp camera system on the gnexus. Is it clear for you now?
P.S: on a side note, Wonder why is there TROLLS everywhere

How's note 2 compare to original note?

hi all,
Some of you who had the original note must have already got the note 2 now. Please share how the note 2 fare in comparison to note 1. It will be helpful for the note users like me who are contemplating a swap for note2.
so please tell about -
screen - color resolution pentiling
wifi range and stability
battery life
signal reception and call clarity
speaker volume
gps fix and accuracy
camera- still and video
other notable improvements
I think the above factors will be more important than app speed or butteriness alone.
so please do share your user experience and thanks a lot in advance for sharing.

Very usefull post tuxing....i have almost same questions what you asked...awaiting reply as i allready sold my note-1 awaiting note 2
bump for this, I plan on selling my N1 in the next month to get the new one.
I literally JUST posted about this somewhere else but the s pen has been greatly improved. Samsung has listened and finally calibrated the pen properly. The rubber tip really makes a difference as I'm not as scared about scratching up the screen. I think the pressure sensitivity has increased. I can't say anything else because I don't own it yet, I was only testing with it. My boyfriend handled the note 2 and now he's absolutely convinced that he needs this. He very much envies me as my contracted has ended and ill be getting it as next week.
hope someone will be able to do a comparo of above features now to help peeps with note1 to reach a decision.
Tomorrow there will be plenty of feedback. Mine comes tomorrow too!!!

Screen very good, although I personally think the density is far too high, it needs to be lower as some text just looks, too telly tubby like.
Wifi seems to be on par for me, no worse no better, but has more factors to consider when asking questions like that, like router quality, environment etc...
Battery life appears to be very good, but I think it's a bit too early to tell, after a few more days, my judgment should be more accurate.
Speaker volume does seem to be a lot louder.
GPS fix is like lightning on the original Note and that trait has carried on to the second.
Call quality, again, never had any issues with the original, no better nor worse.
Camera is very good, from the shots I've taken at least, a few more days of playing around will give a more informed report.
The biggest gripe I have is the screen, not with quality or anything like that, coming from the original Note I am missing the extra width and the pixels that came with that width, some things look a tad too elongated to me, but it's just a case of getting used to it I think.
Also, as I mentioned before the screen density. As soon as a rooting method comes up that doesn't increase the binary counter, I'll be changing it to a number that I think will suite the Note II a bit more.
Other than that it's all good, the speed of the thing is immense, no lag, buttery smooth, it's just an absolute joy to use.

Camera quality

I'm not 100% convinced about how good this camera is.
I heard the mate 9 had an update which made the camera better. Will this apply to us as well?
my note 7 camera was 100 times better. I'm quite disappointed with this.
The mate 9 with update was better. Had both.
I have the Mate 9 Pro, which is the same hardware as the PD. Camera is IMO worse than the one in my iPhone 7 (not Plus). Front camera takes very yellow photos. Optical stabilizer is working too hard on the rear camera.

The demo phone in three individual stores in the nearest town center, Aalborg, suffered from the same "issue".
What is this "Google camera" you are talking about?

S7 Edge doesn't impress me particularly, either - too brown/yellow in the tint on the rear camera for my liking.
Quite pleased with this pic..
Not often I get to take artsy pics but I'm thinking this one is worth sharing.
I think that camera is pretty good in even low light situations, it takes pretty good shots.
I take back what i said about the camera...
Took a pic of a plane in the air..
I then zoomed in and took another pic...
Also took some pics of my kid on a rather fast fair ride and he came out completely clear!
Impressed!
The camera is for me quite good but in low light it is not as good as my xperia x performance. The colours could be more vivid though

Camera issue when zoomed

Hi, I know this isn't a real problem but I don't think it belongs in "general".
So I'm due for an upgrade soon (live in the uk) and I have a dilemma. I love my g4's camera (the main buying point when I got it) but I have noticed vs other phones (namely Samsung due to a rivalry between me my wife and son) that when zoomed in the pic quality is awful.
I know it will be worse than normal due to digital zoom, but my son has an s5 and my wife has an s6 and zoomed in they look like passable photos whereas mine looks like suck on a screen....
I love astrophotography and the g4 is epic for it! Samsung on let you have 10 secs in manual mode for long exposure.
Should I go with the s8+ as I have seen they are a good phone (Samsung have no boot loop which got me... Bad!) and the zoom is beautiful (a mate went on a cruise and took some amazing shots at full zoom)
Or should I wait for the v30 which might come out in the uk and hope they sort the zoom out?
Btw I can't do HTC u11 it just looks awful! And the one plus isn't available on my network.
Thoughts would be great please
Sent from my LG-H815 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I have no problems with he zoom. If you have enough light, it can be great quality. In manual mode, you can set the exposure to 2, 4, 8, 15 or 30 seconds and ISO down to 100.
Here's some pictures with lots of light and low light.
I'd personally wait for the v30 as I'd never go back to Samsung. They're too aggressive with their extra 'features'.
Edit: looks like the uploads have been compressed. :/
That's zoomed in when you take the pic? Here is mine.... In manual iso 50 manual focus
I appreciate my white balance is off... But this is the sort of thing I mean... My son loves the train over the river and as you can see from the guy in high vis... I can't see sh*t when zoomed

That definitely looks strange. There is no optical zoom on most smartphones, it just crops the image. When I crop in all the way, it becomes grainy but never blurry. If you're sure that you have your focus correct and aren't shaking your hands, there might be something wrong with the sensor or lens.
Thaaaaaats great
Thanks, I was thinking maybe

Galaxy M30 camera really worst

Hi All,
My feedback about @samsung galaxy M30,
Mobile performance is average, one week used no hanging issue, if I play Pubg mobile get heating issue.
Battery back up nice 30 hrs stand by for my use.
Camera very worst in daytime Image its felt like rear camera shot some 8mp shot , as of now no gcam port for this model. If we try any other model gcam APK mobile will restart every snap click.
So better don't go with this, only name is Samsung, rest all the features are felt two years old options they gave.
Just bought it, didn't think was so bad, in any case, I have 7 days to return. If it sucks I'm out. Hehe
U are totally wrong ... i have it and it's great.. even the camera is very good.. don't listen to Xiaomi promoters

It has good very nice camera, after watching comparisons on YouTube with other phones like a50 i came to know it has little bit over saturation of colours
selfie sucks if want something to last way more spend some more bucks in a70. its has amazing selfie with same s10 effects.
