Problems - Eonon GA7150A. Need Help! - MTCB Android Head Units Q&A

Hello,
My unit Eonon GA7150A was working perfectly. But suddenly it stopped making sound, both on the radio, and on the buttons, youtube, everywhere. I tried factory reset, but just cleared the settings and applications. After a few minutes, the unit returned to sound. The next day, I go to the car, and the unit did not work. I tried to click on the power button and nothing. I tried several combinations with the reset button and the power button, and only turned on the lights when I released the reset button. After a while, the radio turned on, although it turned off automatically a few times, but at last it remained functional throughout the day, even turning it off several times. The next day the radio did not work again, this time I did not waste time trying to connect it. Anyone know what it might be and what the solution? I've also removed the fuses from the radio's glove compartment for a few minutes and nothing.
I hope to receive help,
Best Regards.

Artemis won't turn on

Hello all
My artemis won't turn on anymore. I managed to do an hard reset but when it got to resetting the device, it will not start again. Tried removing the battery for some time, but no results.
Only thing I'm able to do is start the bootloader and use mtty. Is there something I can do from there ?

Hello,
I had the same problem, ended up with service - took 3 weeks (Norway). In the beginning it happen once or twice a day, managed to turn it on but after a few weeks it didnt start at all.
Best regards
BA
I had the same problem today on my Orbit. I started the GPS (igo 2006) this morning, and it started calculating a route from my present location to somewhere really far (forgot to reset the route). It became unresponsive, so i decided to soft-reset.
However, it wouldn't turn on... I removed the battery, sim, and microsd card for an hour, and tried to start, but no luck. Soft-reseting didn't do anything either. When I got home, I plugged it in to charge, but no go... the charging light stayed off, and a soft-reset wouldn't work.. wouldn't even power on!
Finally, I pressed the voice tag button (top left button on the side, beside the volume slider), and the soft-reset button togther for a couple of seconds... and it booted up like normal.
Not sure if this is a permanent solution, but I'm going to back-up everything daily from now.
Try it... might work for you.

Lumia 900 just died... like totally dead!

...and won't turn on. Totally non-responsive. It's barely 2 months old. I was browsing on it, and battery level was about 75% (3/4 charged). Connected to home WiFi. Now it's not responding at all - power button doesn't do anything. I have connected it to a power source; typically this powers on the phone even if it's off - nothing so far. Took out the SIM, and tried that too. No dice. I have the June 6th update installed.
Any one experienced something like this? Any thoughts? Any advice?

Did u try a hard reset?
1. plug into original nokia USB adapter and cable. leave connected for up to 1 minute. If nothing then,
2. as previous poster stated, do a forced soft reset holding down the power button for about 10 seconds.
3. try hard reset -- hold down volume down + camera key, then press power down for 2-3 seconds.
Good luck
Would you try something a little un-orthodox? It may sound strange, but before you go and wipe all your data from your device with a reset try this:
Take your device, put it in a nylon/plastic bag (like those you put your sandwich in) and seal the bag. Now put the bag with your device into the freezer (YES! that thing in your kitchen!) for 15-20 minutes.
After that, take your device out and try to turn it on.
This method worked for a similar problem which occurred with another Nokia device with a non-removable-battery, the N8...
How to perform a soft reset http://www.wpcentral.com/tip-how-soft-reset-nokia-lumia-800-lumia-900
Thanks to everyone who replied. I tried the key-combinations to perform a reset. Did not work. Used the Nokia charger and left it plugged in, no change. Even tried the freezer-bag advice... nada. Phone was truly dead, from a 100% running state. Extremely weird. I've been in touch with Nokia USA and would have taken it to the store on Monday morning.
HOWEVER - out of nowhere, totally randomly, it turned itself back on at some point. I had it on my bed-stand, and was in the other room when I heard it ring. Ran over, and sure enough - it was alive, well and performing like nothing had happened.
No idea what (if any) of the methods I tried worked, but it resuscitated itself.

LOL! You probably got the Lumia 900P - the Phoenix version!
To tell you the truth, yesterday I had a strange "almost dead Lumia 900" moment myself! I was on my way from work to the bus station, while listening to music on an internet radio station (I'm using the "Tunein Radio" app) when I decided to change the station I was listening to, and when I switched to the other station the screen became entirely black and all I could see is the station's Stop/Favorite/Bookmark buttons.
Anything I clicked on did absolutely nothing... At one point the screen became completely blank but the device was still working (I knew it was still on because I could hear the static 'clicking' sound in my headphones when I connected them to the device), so I just tried pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds, and the device finally turned itself off...
After turning it on again, everything was working as if nothing happened... Odd stuff...

GA5151 (KLD) unit won't turn on, recovery works tho O_o

Hello Guys,
I really need some insight on this problem:
I have a KLD (http://www.eonon.com/Car-GPS/Specific-Car-GPS/Mazda/GA5151.html) unit for some time now, but since September it wasn't in my car because I was preparing an audio upgrade. As one of the last steps I've checked out the HU and I wanted to upgrade to the latest MCU&FW, but the unit wouldn't turn on. Since it's on my "workbench" I've checked the cables, fuse, the external PSU, everything i could, but it did not help. The unit worked flawlessly in the car and on the workbench 2 months ago. Nothing changed. Now it won't turn on, not even the fan at the back of the unit. The screen and the button backlights are also off.
The one confusing part is, when I push the power button with reset for a few seconds, the unit comes to life, and goes into recovery! I can flash a ROM, clear the cache, etc., but when I reboot the unit from the menu, it turns off, then the button backlights flash once, but nothing else happens. The unit stays turned off.
So far I've checked:
- Fuse
- External PSU
- Power button
- Replaced the SOM (The unit is RK3066 originally, I'm using it with RK3188)
- Tried different ROMs
- Disconnected the DVD drive
Nothing helped. I can get into recovery, but I can't boot the unit, no matter what SOM (or what ROM) I use. I would really appreciate some help, because I ran out of ideas.
Thanks in advence!

Ok, the big conclusion is to use the multimeter first. Magically, ACC was not even close to 12v. Switched to another PSU, everything works.

Last ditch effort to fix wifi SGH=M919

Hello,
I have spent many hours attempting to solve the ongoing problem of the wifi button not responding but remaining gray when touched. Here is a quick chronology of symptoms and attempted fixes. I love everything else about the phone, especially the size, but am close to throwing my hands into the air. If anyone has any suggestions as to a Rom that may finally fix this, please let me know!
Wifi worked fine on phone for about 6 months, then became unreliable, not connecting after being out of range and coming back into range of wifi stations. I was usually able to force it to come on by a reset, pulling battery, turning off mobile data and calling *#0011# and turning wifi power saver off and on several times.
After this would no longer work, I rooted phone with CF-Auto-Root-jfltetmo-jfltetmo-sghm919.tar.md5 , was able to use wifi for a day or two, then nothing would force it on.
Tried multiple custom roms, including CM11 kitkat and CM12 Lollipop, same results, I would originally get wifi to fire up and connect, but after a day or two max, nothing.
Have flashed stock kernel for modem, nothing.
Took back of phone off, unplugged and plugged in blue antenna wire, nothing.
Recently flashed M919UVUFNH7_STOCK_ROOTED_DEODEX_KNOXLESS along with NH7_modem.tar.md5, wifi worked a little while, and as usual, wont respond to any resets, battery pulls, etc.
Thanks for any help you may be able to afford.
ive been having the same issue or a month or so now... cant seem to find a sulution anywhere. I too tried multiple roms, even the new 6.0 . I cant imigine its the wifi antennae because it works fine when it wants to... gettin frustrated with it.

I agree, flashing stock firmware is one of the first things that should be done in this case

I have a suggestion. Use the following link to get latest T Mobile firmware for the phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=
Sometimes it takes flashing the firmware twice for the full install of the radio to take properly.
To begin, remove the back of the phone, because your going to remove the battery after the first flash.
Boot into download mode by holding the volume down and power.
Assuming you know how to use Odin, before starting the first flash, unchecked the auto reboot option.
After Odin has reached the point of RESET, unplug the cable, remove the battery... Replace the battery, reboot into Download mode and
repeat the process, leaving auto reboot checked this time.
You are now completely stock. Your data will be basically left untouched.
Good luck.

Have you tried cleaning the hardware contacts on the antenna? I remember this same scenario on my old HTC Desire... the antenna contacts were dirty IIRC and they needed cleaning.
Wow, so I am not the only one still facing this issue! I flashed this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539361 a few times and I eventually noticed the wifi issue as well.
Baseband: M919UVUF0H3
Kernel version: 3.4.0-2437203 [email protected] #1
Build number: KTU84P.M919UVUF0H3
Here's what I attempted:
1. Did a full wipe on the phone and installed full firmware 4.4.4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...mware-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t3193835
2. Flashed stock kernel from the same link above
3. Installed SuperSU, flashed TWRP
4. Installed and ran TriangleAway to clear KNOX counter
Same issue as OP--at first wifi would work but the connection would not stick and I was unable to activate the wifi button anymore. I tried uninstalling KNOX but I get an error "Failed to create KNOX mode." When I reboot into TWRP, I get the message "E: failed to mount /efs (invalid argument)."
I discovered that my EFS folder is empty. I don't have a backup. Could this be related to the wifi issue? Am I screwed?
Finally got the wifi working. Took the white shell that covers the board off and cleaned the contact on the shell with a q-tip and isopropyl, but it looked kinda scuzzy so I scratched it a bit to expose bare metal again. Then I went to the board side and pulled up on the tiny piece of metal that springs to make contact, enough to bend it to a steeper angle for better contact. Wifi and BT working steady for over an hour now. Thought id share.

Heres a link with pics of the locations of the antennas
Edit:
though the wifi worked briefly after this, it stopped working shortly afterwards... back to square one...

Black screen and unresponsive unit, but radio is playing

Hi,
I recently updated my rk3188 MTCB-YM from 4.4.4 to dsa’s 5.1.1 ROM. All went well with the update. After a couple of weeks, I found the ROM was starting to run quite slow and was almost unusable - except if you kept the unit on for a long time. It was like it was loading a lot of things for a long time and once that was done, it became responsive immediately instead of being delayed to button presses etc.
So I decided to boot into recovery and do a wipe all/factory reset. My unit does not have physical buttons or a gps sd card slot. None of the usual boot into recovery options work so I use an app to reboot into recovery. I started this app and chose the correct option. At the time I did this, the radio was playing. The screen went black and the stayed like that with the radio still playing. The lights on the unit are still on but nothing works - no response at all. I have turned the car off and left it off overnight. When I turn the car back on, the radio starts playing again immediately. (This would normally take a little time while it boots up, so the unit is obviously stuck). As I cannot do any of the reset/recovery options - is there anything I can do? I haven’t removed the unit to see if it is possible to short the pins as I don’t have access to a bench power supply and have limited skills. But I will try this if there are no other options. I also haven’t removed the battery terminal to cut power yet. That was going to be my next test. But wanted to see if there was any advice before I do this.
EDIT: I took the plunge and disconnected the battery, and the unit started back up again.
