What to do when you face TWRP Error 7 - LeEco Le Pro3 Guides, News, & Discussion

Every rom threads is being filled with people asking what to do with error 7. Same questions and same answers over and over.
The solution is simple and straightforward as below:
- Make sure you have latest TWRP.
- Make sure you have the right firmware.
All above can be downloaded if you look at 1st page of each rom threads. If not, go to Lineage 15.1 thread and get it from there.
Even with correct TWRP and firmware, you may still get error 7. In that case,
- Unmount (uncheck) System in TWRP.
I guarantee that those three will fix error 7 issues, especially the last part.

how to unmount twrp..?wrongly i deleted all data, caxhe system , and twrp cant install nothing, if i install linageos, it show error 7, if i instal an eui ZIP, it installs fastes (like 4 sec) and after boot to leeco logo...HELP.

and that's the line that was not in the old rom
assert(leeco.verify_modem("2017-01-06 01:40:06") == "1");
I cleared this line and recompile and it works but I can not have the update

I have the newest Trwp (3.2.1-0 by codeworkx), installed 20s firmware from linage thread unmounted /system and still get error 7 (e1001). When i try to install a nougat or marshmallow based rom it either says system cant be unmounted (eventhough i did before) or says it was succesful, but i'm not able to boot. When trying to restore a backup i also cannot boot. Just the Leeco splash screen shows till it goes into recovery.

ok but I have twrp 3.2.1.0

give a trwp 3.1 or 3.0 and try los14.1

When flashing LOS14.1 in twrp 3.0.2 it gets stuck at somewhere like 90% (Patching system image unconditionally)

Are you guys getting this error?
If you do update your firmware.
Go get it from codeworkx

Thanks for your help
I installed twrp-3.2.1-0-20180407-codeworkx-zl1 and still this error 7
it's the line
assert (leeco.verify_modem ("2017-01-06 01:40:06") == "1");
which makes me wrong if I delete it in meta-inf ok
in the forum lost15.1 official on xda, they say firmwaire 20s minimun in red
I have never been in official 20s it would not be that?
or find udapte.zip 20s x720
I can try to put back original, put back 3.2.1 trwp and flash for test
thanks
Storm, you're stuck in any case if I understood
try on the site grossoshop leeco the pro 3
there is an automatic tutorial to put in 18s grossoshop
nothing to lose
then you try los 14.1 ok

Fixed it
I actually got this: "E1001: Failed to update system image." followed by Error 7.
So, i don't know how but it just fixed itself. My ADB Drivers suddenly didn't work correctly and after reinstalling clockworkmods Universal ADB Driver it worked out of nowhere. It could also have been a false USB Port scince i also plugged my cable in somewhere else. Now I can flash anything without problems
Hope this helps...

problem solved my turn
for those who have an error 7 with oreo which is a problem identification
you need the firmwaire 20s minimum if you start the custom rom with 18s or 19s
and the solution and in the tutorial aicp 13
so it's not necessarily the trwp that's always the problem
but thanks for the help

I was having the same error 7.
I just reflashed to stock 20s and the problem was fixed

I read through this post and couldn't get past the error 7 issue. I finally got it solved by updating TWRP to the latest version and then I could flash lineage15 via adb sideload. Thanks for another great, informative, thread from the people of XDA developers.

Thanks for help.
if u dun mind, can u upload these to dropbox? (in my area, mediafire is blocked )
http://www.mediafire.com/download/q0..._Stock.1.4.zip
http://www.mediafire.)com/download/z...g_Version).zip
I can't revert to stock recovery .. it stuck in waiting device (cuz i think usb debugging is not on)
My room is already on B510.
I think the problem (stuck on huawei logo and there is no os) occurs bcoz I accidentally wipe all data (Dalvik Cache, System, Cache, Custom Storage, Data, Internal Storage) via TWRP.
What can I do to install OS?
download this stock recovery first
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23252070760973625
^ after you download extract and rename it's file to recovery.img
then
If you can still access your twrp try rebooting in bootloader mode then>
use your adb /fastboot on pc
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
then follow the instructions above for how to reinstall your android os
also to download those mediafire files try using http://onlineproxyfree.com/
also in the future when using twrp never format internal or external memory..
---------- Post added at 09:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:08 AM ----------
also make sure you have adb drivers loaded? try this maybe http://adbdriver.com/upload/AdbDriverInstaller.exe

Hello,
Thanks again bro. but i still have problems.
in CMD, when i typed "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img", it's still in waiting for device.
For "onlineproxyfree(dot)com", it's also blocked by FortiGuard Web Filtering.
Yeah.. I won't format internal / ext again
I already installed adb drivers to my laptop.
hmm try rebooting your phone directly into fastboot> hold vol- and power continuously till it boots in fastboot>plug phone back in> then try flashing the recovery again
also make sure to replace your drivers with the ones in the software i provided the link for, also remove any huawei pc sync or whatever the name of the pc software was, it sometimes clashes with adb
maybe try using tor for downloading from mediafire.

Please help me, guys. Afraid I turned my phone into an expensive brick.

Long story short, little to no knowledge of phone related stuffs, I had my phone rooted and whatnot. Wanted to increase personalization and features, so I unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP and tried flashing the CM nightly rom.
But after wiping everything, including the system partition, my Zenfone2 (ZE551ml WW version) simply refuses to flash anything zipped. It gives me the "E: Error executing updater binary in zip 'file name.zip'.
I tried flashing different TWRP images and it works. Can you guys guide me on how to restore my Zenfone 2 to its stock version? Apparently it refuses to flash any zip files, I am trying right now to flash the stock firmware provided by Asus but it gives me some error related to WW version and also the above error...
ADB sideload also doesn't work. Please guys help me, I am kind of desperate.
Flash through bootloader, read the thread for changing from CN to WW, it will give you complete instructions for flashing

Hey guys,
Do you have a linux (ubuntu) step by step for dummies?
I'm new to this rooting thing and I feel like I need some help here. I've taken a look into the NRT tool, but it looks like it is windows only. Also, to flash TWRP it requires the tablet to be rooted. Kinda recursive..
Any help will be strongly appreciated

I posted live Linux info before.
TWRP root req is only one of the options.
In fastboot mode (when off press power+vol.dn) do...
Download the correct image file and copy the file into the same folder as your adb and fastboot binaries. Rename the image to twrp.img and type:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot reboot
Note many devices will replace your custom recovery automatically during first boot. To prevent this, use Google to find the proper key combo to enter recovery. After typing fastboot reboot, hold the key combo and boot to TWRP. Once TWRP is booted, TWRP will patch the stock ROM to prevent the stock ROM from replacing TWRP. If you don't follow this step, you will have to repeat the install.

Then boot TWRP and install SuperSU...zip
Thanks man, but it didn't seem to work. I was able to flash TWRP after unloking the bootloader. The problema is that it gets restarting because it says "could not mount /data folder [...]" and many other red lines.
It is late here, I'll be trying a bit more tomorrow. If you have any more guidance, I will strongly appreciate.

I think you were also flashing a ROM/OS at the same time. The following should fix it...
Code:
fastboot format cache
fastboot format userdata
Note, your data after unlocking is gone already, so do not worry about formatting the partition now.
Thanks dude. It works smoothly as it should be. Thanks to you. You saved some hours of my life for sure.

I tried downloading an earlier version of towelroot (v1) but the app updates to v3 automatically (yes v3 uninstalled and cache cleared with restart). Love some solutions as I am totally lost. Pixel XL Uberstock Testing

I am looking for some testers for my rom on Pixel XL, we currently have a build up on https://temp.bbqdroid.org/
It is a flashable zip and you should have a backup from twrp on your pc before flashing.
To keep TWRP you will likely need to flash ROM + Gapps, TWRP zip and then supersu.

Just a heads up. I looked at the script and if you want to flash it , you'll need to adb sideload it as the script needs modification for TWRP.
How well does the build work? OMS Full? As on the 6P?

If you wipe system then flash the rom when you go to reboot it will say no OS installed. When you flash the rom it's flashing to the other partition so no need to wipe system and when you reboot it switches slots. If you just factory reset you won't get the no OS installed message.
Interesting.
Yeah, I did wipe /system.
Guys, its a bit ot but i had the following issue with installing DU on my sailfish:
I wiped System, data, Cache, flashed DU and so on... Then twrp said no OS installed. Ich accidentally rebooted system and did not reboot bootloader.
Screen turned off, hard brick because twrp (or what Else?) swapped boot partition to b (no bootloader installed).
As you can imagine, im pretty frightened to flash anything but weta rom for now on my new pixel (google rma...).
Is this caused by twrp, du or what?

Screen turned off, hard brick because twrp (or what Else?) swapped boot partition to b (no bootloader installed).
As you can imagine, im pretty frightened to flash anything but weta rom for now on my new pixel (google rma...).
Is this caused by twrp, du or what?

It's impolite to talk about an issue with DU in the thread dedicated for a totally different ROM.
You may want to post this question over in the TWRP thread.
In the Sailfish forum, btw. You're in the Marlin forum right now. lol

Trouble after CM Update

Hi, I updated this morning my CM 14.1 on my OnePlus3. No my phone isn't booting anymore. Even Recovery does not work. Only fastboot is available, but Bootloader-Version and Baseband-Version don't have any value. I allready tried flashing twrp again. Terminal on Computer says everything went fine, but I still can't boot in recovery...
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks allready.
Flash modified TWRP ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=21835 ) using fastboot.
Now you should be able to get into recovery.
Then when you're in recovery, flash a firmware package that's compatible with cm 14.1 ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/radio-modem-collection-flashable-zips-t3468628 ) . I was going to attach a link but I can't find which one is supposed to be used, so look around for that :L When I flashed CM I had to use something like 3.2.8 but that might've changed. Good luck and hope this helps

Also if these steps don't work use the unbrick tool from ( https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/guide-mega-unbrick-guide-for-a-hard-bricked-oneplus-3.452634/ ) which has saved my ass few times. You'll probably need method two. Make sure to follow the instructions carefully especially if you don't want to lose data.
Fastboot showing no values for baseband and bootloader is quite normal on Oneplus 3, atleast its the same behavior on mine and some videos on youtube i saw.

Did it and was going back in Recovery. So I flashed lineageos, because of the end of CM, but everytime I boot, I get in recovery. Do I just need to add the firmware package? Thought it would work with a whole new System ...

Or do I have to add the system partition in the mount setting in twrp?

The mount setting won't make a difference. I dunno why you're getting into recovery..... It might be the firmware package. Ask around on your ROM's thread on here for which firmware package you should be using.
