bleutooth xbox one s controler: does it work - ZTE Axon 7 Accessories

What are good bluetoothcontrolers that work?

Xbox One Wireless Controller works over bluetooth

I can second that, my Xbox One S controller works perfectly via Bluetooth.

Yes. It works flawlessly. I also used mine to test some psp games through ppsspp emulator with vulkan api. And its really awesome. Now we just need a good phone holding clip that we can attach to the Xbox one s Controller to put our phone in since our phone sadly doesnt support any slimport hdmi output

Mine dosent work
I tried to connect with my Axon 7 but it dosent show up iduring refreshing
I tried it on lg v20 too..but same, no device.

@teji007: Works for me on AOSP Extended Nougat, I don't use ZTE's stock ROMs. Make sure you have your XBox One S controller in pairing mode (the light will blink rapidly). If it still doesn't work then you might need to try a Magisk module, there is one for this controller, just search for it in the Downloads section of Magisk app. I haven't been able to get the controller working in most games, but it does seem to work fine in Minecraft, Survivalcraft, and Survivalcraft 2.

Thanks for replying but now i have updated my phone A2017U to Oreo and i dont know how to unlock bootloader and root.
If you know please do tell me .
Thanks

@teji007: I no longer own the Axon 7 as of a month ago, so I can be of no help. I have moved on to the Galaxy Note 9 N9600 international Hong Kong model. But there are plenty of guides on the A7 XDA subforum, just start reading a few topics in different categories, you'll get it figured out.

A "wireless" controller doesn't necessarily mean bluetooth.
My daughter's XBOX one controller didn't work. My Axon 7 couldn't "see" it.
I just got the new XBOX one controller which specifies bluetooth on the box. The Axon 7 sees it and it works properly on stock Oreo.
Google about it and see there is an obvious cosmetic difference between the controllers so you can tell which are the right ones.
Ebay has clip on phone holders too. I'm going to order one.
If we had official Android 10 I would try a Nintendo Switch controller as 10 got native support for that. They're $20 cheaper.

Gaming pad for HTC ONE

Hi All,
Been looking at getting a gaming controller for my htc one, i want one that holds the phone as well as lets you use a controller, so i can go and
play gta etc.. with ease.
Anyone got any experience with any ??
Seen this : http://buy.thegameklip.com/products/gameklip-casemount
Looks good but does anybody know if the ps3 controller works with htc one (there is a checker here if you have root https://play.google.com/store/apps/...Rpb3Muc2l4YXhpc2NvbXBhdGliaWxpdHljaGVja2VyIl0.
Also ive seen the mogo pro controller : http://www.engadget.com/2013/01/10/moga-pro-hands-on/
Which looks perfect but no info about a UK release, just US.
There is this as well, I have it on order myself.

Thanks that one idea out.
I do love the moga one its looks perfect, just hoping that once it released on Monday in the US it will pop up online in places.
That bluetooth one of ebay says it has issues with android 4.0 (guessing this will mean it has issues with 4.1 as well)
Also im sure ive read somewhere that the flip at the top doesnt stretch far enough to fit a s3 in it, hence it might not fit the one!
why o why cant someone just bring out a good one and sell it world wide.
I'm hoping the Moga Pro turns out to be decent as I'll be in the US in a few Months so I'll pick one up then, unless a UK reseller pops up beforehand!

I think I am going to try the Moga pro! It looks awesome.
The sixaxis app does not work with the HTC ONE due to the required bluetooth protocol not being implemented.
OTG doesn't work either. You don't even get the local bluetooth adress in the sixaxis app! :crying:
has anyone tried to mogo mini controller?

I have the smaller moga controller AND the Nyko Playpad (smaller one)
the moga is nice but... it does not support any app but MOGA certified ones out of the box, meaning if its not a moga supported game it will not work, BUT! there is a "MOGA IME" around that u can install and it will allow you to use it with your non moga apps, but only with key mapping, there is no way to map touch controls. The moga runs on 2 AAA batteries
The nyko playpad is nice as well, it has the ability to be use as a controller or even a mouse for android, but their "playground" app doesn't support touch mapping yet and it doesnt have a built in mount to hold the phone, it does however come with a stand that can be used for phones OR tablets, it is rechargable
In all honesty, having tried the 2 main competitors I have both because some games wont work with one but will with the other, in the end tho, the sixaxis is probably the best bet, and even with that there is an annoying lag when playing games with any of these methods, I actually just gave up on using the controllers mostly, the only time i use them now is for my SNES and GBA emulator's

I own a moga, and it works flawlessly with my S3, but my one doesn't see the controller at all.
Seems the protocol isn't supported, once we get a rom that doesn't have sense, I'll test it out again.
Tried the droid DNA bluetooth mod as well, no luck

Does it not work over usb OTG at all? Or only before getting rid of sense? I bought one of these to use with my ps3 controller and every usb pairing, management app out there says it detects my controller, I have the HTC one but when I plug in the controller nothing happens. Do I have to get rid of sense? I don't knwo why that would interfere with it. I'm kind of pissed because other phones just plug n play and I have this amazing new top of the line phone that can't do it without deleting the main software? I don't even wanna mess around with that kind of stuff lol
I've got a regular moga... May see how it works for me. It was useless for me since my sensation is too slow to play good games now and my N7 just uses an Xbox controller with USB wire.
By far best controller for phones is the phonejoy iv had a lot now and this has lasted me over two years of hardcore emulator action it is supported by all ime apps and most emulators already it's a great option and is an exact ps3 replica but works with any phones bluetooth

Can somebody help answer what gamepad will actually work on this device. Im stuck and really want a gamepad!

Need advice for Bluetooth Gamepads (8-Bitty doesn't work well)

I just received my iCade 8-Bitty controller in the mail from ThinkGeek. I'm having a bit of trouble getting it to work in the few apps I've tried.
I have successfully paired the device with the tablet, but it doesn't seem to be receiving any inputs from the controller.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35167558
According to this thread, people have used the app BluezHID to get the 8-bitty to work as a keyboard, and successfully map controls in emulators, on the Original N7.
I've tried BluezHID on my 2013 N7 to no avail, i get an error: bt socket connect failed message no matter what I try.
Seems iCade support requires "L2CAP" to work with the Bluetooth stack. Any clue if this is supported on the 2013 N7?
Has anyone else tried the 8-bitty or other iCade sticks on the 2013 N7 yet?
I will keep trying a few other game apps and see if anything works. I'll update this thread as I figure stuff out.
Edit:
Initial tests indicate that the pad connects, is seen, but in MAME4Droid, every button is read as "unknown", making mapping impossible. Will keep trying.
Edit2:
Seems BluezHID will NEVER work as they changed the way Bluetooth connects in 4.2.2 (N7 is at 4.3), it never releases the bluetooth connection. A custom ROM may fix this. *SIGH*
Edit 3:
Seems with 4.3 Bluetooth gamepads are near broken, I need some general advice about using Bluetooth Controllers with the 2013 Nexus 7.
Bump for title change. I need some more general advice with Bluetooth Controllers.
The best bluetooth controller I've found is the the official PS3 controller. If you have a PS3 system then you're all set. If not, you can usually get one for less than $30 brand new. There are tons of knockoffs that can cost about half or less, but it's a hit or miss with those. If you don't care about being wireless, then just get a wired controller, xbox360 controller for example, which is cheaper and will also work.
Hmm, I do have a wired 360 Controller, I would assume a USB to micro-USB adapter is required. Is there any app needed? Does it require root? Is the 2013 Nexus 7 USB-OTG capable?
Tried my XBOX360 Wired controller and a USB to Micro USB adapter that I had lying around, and did not work. Didn't even light up. Granted, I'm not sure if this adapter ever worked, but I have no clue if the 2013 N7 even has the OTG capability.
Any other ideas?
I have the steelseries free that I bought used from eBay at 35.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Well, bought a powered USB Hub and it still didn't work with my OTG adapter, so its obviously at fault. I have another OTG Cable on the way, one recommended by an XDA forum thread, but it won't get here for a month. Blech.
I need to peruse the forums some more and see if there is a good list of Bluetooth controllers somewhere.
I have been using Moga Pro
and I have no complaints, came with a little tablet stand too. I have been using it flawlessly on emulators like Drastic DS and supergnes and MyBoy. Also, it works with the Moga software which is growing it's library of supported games all the time. I love it and honestly it feels better than the PS3 controller in my humble opinion. They just recently released a new line of Moga controllers where they charge youre device while playing, sounds cool but I always carry extra battery packs with me so it's not necessary for me.

Finally got ahold of my FC30, and I'm sad to report it doesn't work as advertised. Works fine as a USB PC controller, but I have troubles getting it to connect to my N7 (2013) reliably. The touchscreen emulation hasn't worked yet, as it will never successfully connect in the touchscreen emu mode with the included .apk. However, this gamepad has the ability to update the firmware, so its possible to fix these issues.
My conclusion: DON'T BUY. At least until they fix connectivity.

Just got my Moga pro and I have to say it does great for Games that support it directly and with the Universal Driver on the Play store it works great with the emulators I use. Pleasantly surprised that I don't have to be rooted for the Universal Driver to work either. I had been using the Sixaxis app with a PS3 controller up till now but I wanted to see if I really needed to root my new N7 so I grabbed the Moga to try.

Another vote for the Sony PS3 Sixasis controller!! I use a PS3 controller with my Asus Infinity, Note 2, Evo LTE, and of course N7 FHD. Best part is that it works flawlessly with EVERY game too!! Even if the game isn't set to support a controller, you can use the Sixasis app and customize the controller button presses to emulate a screen touch. Absolutely LOVE that feature and ability!! I set some custom game button mappings for some games that already natively support controllers, just because I prefer the button presses to do something different. You can make and save different controller button mappings (just called "maps" in the Sixasis app) for each individual game, or even make multiple maps for each game if you'd like. The app is very flexible and allows you to fully customize everything to your liking! I don't believe there's another controller option out there that offers as much flexibility and in depth customizations as does a Sixasis controller with the Sixasis app!! I'm excited to get the PS4 system and to use PS4 Sixasis controllers with my Android devices!!
Needless to say, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going with a PS3 controller and the Sixasis app!!!!

I have been using the wired 360 controller for awhile now, for both my PC and Nexus7 (both gens). Works well, though it is a little awkward finding a good spot for the tablet since your hands are both on the controller (unless you have a stand or are sitting at a table).
If you want a wired one then I would high recommend it.

xbox Controller Compatible?

Bought an OTG cable, shows usb plugged on my notifications bar when I plug it in, but does nothing. Controller blinks, but won't respond, I don't want to root because I use the TWC app to watch TV on my tablet, and I like getting , you updates (last phone was the note 1 rooted and was on ICS for 2 years, so I like being current on my device for once without constant flashing and stuff.)
anyways cord and controller works fine on my Note 3 but no response from my Note 10.1 2014 Edition.
Any help?
Looked for a pre made thread on this, but whenever I hit the search thread tab on this site while using my tablet, the text bar dissappears.
HEEEEEEELP! Wanna play GTA comfortably on this pig.
Start with USB/BT Joystick app from store. It will at least let controller initialize. However I too am stuck past that, so tagging thread in hopes someone knows what's up.

Yea tried USB BT and didn't really understand what I was doing. It picked the controller up but still nothing. And apps like GTA are supposed to just work with a controller, so I'm lost. Worked fine on my Note 3 but not on my Note 10.1 2014?
No one else has tried this but us?
Is it a wireless controller ? Wireless controller only use the USB for charging, the rest is always done wirelessly.
If it's a wired controller, please disregard

Yea effortlessly, just pair it like any Bluetooth device and you're off. Plus it's compact wireless and portable.
I purchased the pro (360 replica basically) for $40 on bestbuy.com and when I went to the store to pick it up, it was actually the Moga Hero Pro which was like $60, so whether by accident or on purpose I got the more expensive $60 one from bestbuy.
I originally got the Moga Pocket for $30 at gamestop, but took it back because bestbuy had the pro for $40 and the pocket didn't have shoulder buttons, just triggers and wasn't rechargeable, it took 2 AAA batteries.
If you want to game get a MOGA for sure. I should have just done it from get go.
Oh and obviously it connects just as easy to your phone, but it's also real nice to clip it in and play games, feels like a nice portable gaming device, plus the one I got, the hero pro charges your phone as you play if you want, pretty awesome, I originally just wanted to play on my tablet, but after plugging my phone into this beast I was hooked. Def worth the money.
But yea plays awesome on both devices.
Anyone tired the SteelSeriees controller?
I can get it uber cheap, but don't know how good it is (or isn't)
Sounds like moga may be ticket unless someone can figure out why x360 won't show up on the 10.1 2014. I'm sure I'll get BB gift cards for Christmas, so I'll grab one then. Thx for tip
Well I got the moga pro on closeout for $30 at BB. Still having trouble getting it connected. Can you give me step by step what you did? I'm still using the paid version of the USB BT app. Is that still needed with the moga?

Hi guys,
if you are trying to use the wireless xbox 360 controller, try to install the latest Xluco Kernel (Beta v3) for Android 4.4.2.
You can find the Kernel on following page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2725193
It works like a charm and you don't need an extra App (USB/BT Joystick Center). Just plug in your xbox 360 dongle and
switch on your xbox 360 controller.
The only issue is, that your DPad won't work. On following page you can find a modified Vendor/Product driver to activate the DPad: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40032337&highlight=dpad#post40032337

Android Gaming

I've had THE hardest time trying to look for an OTG cable for my phone in order to have a better experience with mobile gaming/ emulators. Once I finally was able to find and pick one up, I soon found out that it was not compatible with my Samsung Galaxy core prime [sm-360t1].. In a desperate search to find a device that was compatible but still inexpensive, I realized it would be better to just buy a Bluetooth gaming controller instead of a whole new device. I did some research on PS4 controllers and it's compatibility with Android devices, and I had some good feedback with that research. BUT! I'm still sceptical on if it will work only because when I did research on connecting controllers via OTG cable, A lot of people if not most said that it would work for ALL android devices which is not the case. Same goes for connecting PS4 controllers to Android devices, Every single person that has reviewed this has said it works for ALL android devices 4.0 and up. I wanna know if this is the case for my Galaxy core prime [sm-360t1] before I spend money on this controller and it turns out that it's not. Please if anyone has any knowledge of this I would appreciate if you shared it with me. Thank you!

I had also heard about PS4 controllers having blue tooth in them unlike the Xbox one controllers. Im pretty sure it should work for your phone , I haven't heard about any android devices not being able to connect to one.
As long as the games will not be specifically developed for controllers (like on Android TV), it will be a hit and miss! (Some games will work, some will work with intermediate apps, emulators might all work and some games will not work at all)

How is OTG compatibility neutered by Motorola? Software or hardware?

I have a T-mobile Z2 Force that is rooted but running the stock rom. I decided to dig out an adjustable PS3 clip I originally printed for my Stylo 3. Hooked everything up with no luck and then found through some reading out that in an effort to force mod sales, you can't run an otg gamepad on the Z2.
So did moto do this with hardware or software? The phone is rooted but on the stock rom. If it's done in software, is there another rom I could flash that allow OTG gamepad support?
I've had this phone forever, but just now decided to try the PS3 controller so I'm a bit late to the party.
That sounds a lot like hearsay and guesses. There is otg functionality on the z2 force T-Mobile variant that I have. The question you want to ask is if the support for that particular attachment supported. It might not be. Support for attachments have to be baked in or added via an app. That's why things like OTG TV tuners require a specific app. If that PS3 controller is like a generic keyboard then it would work. Generic USB keyboards and gamepads work over OTG. However, if it has other features that require drivers then it won't work without them
I know it's a bit tinfoil-hattish, but every phone starting with my S4 on through Note 4, LG G4, S7 Edge, Stylo 3 and my wife's current S9 works with the PS3 controller. We also have a garbage-tier Samsung J-something that came with one of our lines that has lived most of its life in a drawer as a back up phone and it also works via otg. I never tried it with my Droid Razr or Eris, but it wouldn't surprise me if they had worked with it also.
Then, there's my Stadia controller. With Chromium installed running in desktop mode, it works on my wife's S9. Oh, and get this. The only out-of-service phone I've kept is the Note 4 and it's normally living its golden years streaming through a stereo system in the garage. It came out in October of 2014. I installed Chromium, plugged in the Stadia controller (released fall 2019) and while it's too laggy to be playable, all the inputs work.
So the one phone that will allow USB sticks, hdds, mice and other various devices via otg, but none of the controllers I've tried (PS3, 360, Stadia) just happens to be the one with a gamepad attachment offered by the manufacturer.
Not going to sound like a shill but here's some information about something similar that was discussed in the moto forums. That works be the best place to get information about which controllers might work. Not sure if there Z2 will get the update as it is EOL.
