No please don't upgrade, I think it will end in an hardbrick. Wait until the official update is realised and then flash the stockrom via fastboot

Okay thank you very much, I'll wait for the firmware to come out, hoping that my IMEI will come back

se você atualizar via OTA vai corromper o bootloader do seu aparelho, espere sair o oreo 8.0 e instale via RSD Lite ou fastboot.

I did the same (downgraded from first soak to 7.1.1 december) and lost my IMEI. It was restored by flashing the first soak again (and then I flashed all other soaks and finally the official OTA).
Not sure if you can recover your IMEI this way, but I'd also suggest to wait for the fastboot rom

You can actually flash the February security patch firmware without flashing gpt.bin and bootloader and then sideload official Oreo from there. If you do it right, you'll have your IMEI back and official Oreo. Just remember: DON'T FLASH GPT OR BOOTLOADER, JUST SKIP THOSE COMMANDS, if you flash them you'll probably brick your device.

Moto z play back to stock with retail rom is possible?

Hello,
I'm considering going back to the stock ROM in my moto z play XT1635-02 retla1st but I would like to know if I would have a problem installing the RETAIL version when receiving OTA's or some other problem.
I currently have the bootloader unlocked and a compilation that is not the official one but I want to remove the root and receive the updates without any inconvenience.
best regards

I do not know if you can downgrade from a 7.1 ROM to a 6.x Stock via RSD and have your phone usable. With some phones if you downgrade to MM you brick it.
If it survives, you would then need to find a way to lock the bootloader.
In the same Android versión it's possible install a retail ROM?

I believe if your phone (bootloaders) is 7.x you can RSD 7.x and if phone is 6.x you can RSD 6.x .

what actually happened to your phone
Bro the download link is below but you need paid membership
https://easy-firmware.com/index.php?a=browse&b=category&id=25905
I don't know why that specific file needs a paid membership and why that is the only website to host that file
you said that firmware or newer, would you like the November security patch

Downgrade to Nougat

Hello fellas,
I've Moto Z2 Play update to Oreo, April patch. My bootloader was unlocked then I lock the bootloader these days, works fine. But, when I boot to bootloader it's show "oem_locked" but not show Official Software as well.
So, It's possible to downgrade to last build Android nougat then OTA update to Oreo ? I think it's fix and show the Official Software.

z2 play from china mobile but was flashed with stock 7.1.1 and does not upgrade futher

I got a z2 play in secondhand.
This phone is from china mobile so it had zui to start off with and the previous owner has flashed 7.1.1 .
Now the phone is stuck in 7.1.1 and it does not get get updated to 9.0.
I contacted Lenovo and they say that the build number is not in the database .
I tried ADB sideload with oreo and Pie OTA zip files but does not work keep getting different error messages.
Is there any way this can be done ?

your model is xt1710-08?
for xt1710-08 you can follow this guide to update to oreo:
[FASTBOOT ROM] OREO Retail OPS27.76-12-25 (April) using Fastboot
Hi all, i have found this on Motozbrasil Blogspot. It reported XT1710-01, XT1710-02, XT1710-06, XT1710-07, XT1710-09 e XT1710-10 models as working, but my XT1710-08 works too (see details in this post). >>>> All credits and thanks go to...

please pay attention to skip 4 instruction (modem NON-HLOS.bin, modemst1,modemst2 and fsg) to preserve the signal and the fingerprint sensor.
then, you can update from oreo to pie following this guide:
[STOCK] Flash or update guide for XT1710-08 [PPS29.133-30 (Android 9.0 Pie)]
Your bootloader must be unlocked. You can't lock the bootloader, to do this you will need a signed firmware from Motorola (and no one found yet). Instead you can use Magisk to hide the unlocked bootloader, bypass SafetyNet and be able to use...

Question Android 13 open beta

Oneplus just release MT2111_11_F.07 rom based on OOS13.
I am upgrading to it now. And I am just wondering how to extract boot.img from my phone.
I am afraid that a direct patch from Magisk after OTA before reboot may brick my phone because it's a major update. Has anyone tested it? Or already have F.07 boot.img?

You may receive it directly if you are joining the open beta program.
Besides since I am in mainland of China, I have difficulty uploading the rom to mega or google drive.

After Open Beta 2 (MT2111_11_F.08) for 9RT Fastboot has been blocked by OnePlus, No more access to fastboot and recovery, while getting into fastboot Phone will boot to system directly.
Very dirty trick by OnePlus for blocking fastboot, now it has become like 10 Series, only EDL with MSM for flashing Phone both upgrading and downgrading.
Rolling back to A12 is possible, but fastboot flashing is bricking the device as fastbootd is not apearing anymore... and its A/B Partition....

Fastbootd should work. If you unlocked bootloader before flashing beta, you can flash using fastbootd.
