Battery LED for Notifications - Moto G5S Questions & Answers

Does anyone know of a ROM for G5S that can use the battery LED for notifications. I tried Lineage OS but that didn't have it.
I thought it might as G5 and G5 Plus both have it. ...thxs

[Q] LED Notifications dimming while charging

Hi guys, I don't know if this is supposed to be either a feature or a bug, but since I replaced the battery cover from the original Quick Cover folio case (CCF-210) to the non-folio one, everytime I charge the phone the Notifications LED becomes dim as if brightness setting was set to zero. I have the unlocked AT&T E980 model immediately flashed with Panama ROM (full stock, non rooted) since I bought it a month ago. I made a few tests to check if this is a hardware or software issue (if it's an issue at all) and so I did the following:
* Using the non-folio case, when phone is NOT charging, the LED brightness is NORMAL (i set it to 80% brightness)
* Using the non-folio case, when phone is charging, the LED brightness is DIM (as if 0% brightness). I check the settings it's still set at 80%
* Using the Quick Cover case (auto screen off is turned ON), when phone is either charging or not, the LED brightness is NORMAL
Is anybody else experiencing this? Is the phone supposed to do this or not? I'm thinking of hard resetting the phone, but I wanna make sure I'm the only one experiencing this before I do.
No response from anyone? I guess I'm alone on this one...

I do know that when charging your phone there is a setting for the LED to change the colors or disable it, on certain roms. that's the only thing I can say about it.. sorry I wasn't more help

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I tried changing the settings and then testing it again, but the LED keeps on dimming out (dropping to 0% brightness) when I connect the charger. LED works fine & normal when the charger isn't connected. It's nothing that affects performance though, it's just a really weird and annoying behavior.
Since it looks like I'm the only one experiencing this, I'd probably try to hard rest one of these days (when I'm not lazy anymore hehe) and hope it fixes the weird behavior.
how to make it brighter in general
i was gonna ask a similar question, are you saying the notification LED in home button right? Mine is so dim when charging, i can hardly see it, I have seen it much brighter when powering off phone and turning on phone, how can I make it brighter at all?
I am on ROOT E988 version by the way, stock ROM

Yes, that's exactly it. So it's not specific to just the E980 Panama ROM since your experiencing the same on your E988. Same here, I can hardly see the green notification or the red breathing light when the charger is plugged in, especially during daytime. So is this supposed to happen or is it a bug? Do anyone else notice this on your LG OGP?

new user LG G4 help

Ive had a G4 for about 3 weeks now, and would greatly appreciate a little help as a few of the other forums seemed to not offer much advise.
1. When the phone is at rest and charging, the LED flashes/beeps on and off a red color. When it's fully charged the LED flashes Green. Aren;t these lights supposed to be solid? Could my unit be defective? Ive heard yes and no answers.
2. With auto dim set to off and screen brightness at 65%, almost everytime i unlock the phone it auto dims by itself. Ive never experienced this with any other phone except the G3 a year ago. it this normal?
3. On standby the battery does not deplete. Like ever. It was at 88%, and 3 hours later was at 88%. But 5 minutes of simply chrome browsing brought it down to 81%. 5 minutes.
im not rooted, and use only stock, AT&T software. I really like this phone, but want to make sure they aren't all like mine.
Thanks
I have 815 UK version (or international as some people say, or European... or Korean...lol) Anyway, when charging I am shown solid red, when fully charged, solid green. Not sure about the brightness thing, I have mine on auto all the time as I'm afraid of losing too much battery lol. Depletion of battery at rest sounds about right, if it's not doing anything why would the battery go down? However yes, chrome is very resource heavy and I suggest using the stock browser (if you have it, for example on the 815).
IMO.
yeah the charging flashing light was very disturbing, maybe it's defective? but other people say theirs also flash

There is a known issue with the LED light no clearing properly on the G4, here, try this.
Notification LED issues
The notification LED issues have been reported on some G4 handsets, wherein the phone's notification LED keeps flashing randomly even when no notification has been received. In some rare cases, it is ascertained that the LED continues to blink even after dismissing the notification.
Potential solutions
This is a relatively common issue found in Android 5.0 Lollipop, which can be fixed using the Clock application that can be downloaded here. Although this is not an issue with the Clock app itself, it is a means to fix the Notification LED issue.
The issue seems to occur on some devices after receiving notifications from third-party messaging apps like Whatsapp. Such faulty apps could be removed to check if the problem persists. If the issue is gone after the removal of the app, you may need to install the latest app update from the developer to resolve the issue permanently.
If everything else fails, just turn off the LED completely, by going to Settings > Sound & Notification > Notification LED.

It doesn't apply to notifications. I use a LED color app and that works fine...it's when the phone is charging.
Which model have you got?
standard, USA AT&T Model...H810

Mine also very slow to full red light and slow to no light while charging.
Full green when is fully charged.
I was thinking it was a feature....

Yes, the LED orange light will "breathe" like you see on Macbooks or other charging devices, it gets brighter/dimmer gradually/smoothly. So if your LED is "blinking" ON/OFF then that is not normal. It should gradually and smoothly pulse brighter and dimmer.
Mine blinks, on and off. Like a notification but with a 1 second interval. When charged does the same thing but is Green.
You say yours pulses. Others say it's a solid color.
Why is this device so buggy across the board? I feel it truly does everything, and is beautiful, yet I feel theres very little consistency in performance.
I'm going to write an email to LG, and try to find out exactly whats supposed to be happening when this phone is charging.
From my limited time with this puppy, I've noted that mine's blue (for notifications and full charge) and red (charging). And no, I'm not color-blind. Yet.

Lightflow no longer working on 5.0?

Hi! Just got my G3 F400L 2 days ago, got all my apps set up and I'm really loving this phone (esp when you're coming from a crappy mtk device :laugh
Had it on 4.4.2 and lightflow was working flawlessly until i decided to flash cloudyg3 2.5 because of the overheating and battery drain issue. After doing so, i realized that lightflow (even light manager) is no longer working on stock messenging app (which has its own led notification setting, blinks only every 10 sec., which is absurd). The sound settings from ligjtflow works though.
So i tried all kinds of stuff like playing with the settings on lightflow and disabling led notif of messaging app through notifyclean (xposed module), none works.
Anybody can help or suggest what to do? I need lightflow in my life, esp for this awesome phone with awesome led notification light.
Thank you!
Edit: lightflow works, however ONLY after when screen got turned on, and turned back of, that's the only time lightflow notif will kick in.
Also... Any way we can make the led notifications work even when the screen is on?

*job.deadline* Android wakelock

Hi everybody,
Does anyone have the same wakelock?
Nearly 3 wakelocks/min and only 3h30 SOT at 17% of battery
I already searched to find informations about this, but I have no answer..
Thank you all
Yes,same issue here
Yep, same here, although still managing to get around 80-90% deep sleep
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
I've never seen this before... Only one frequency is used by the system ?
Even i had this.. Clean flashed helped in elimination for me
Hey.
I have the same problems on my Leeco LePro 3 with 7.1.2 rom.
*job.deadline* is keeping device awake.
I lost 10% overnight battery.
What service is that?
Thanks
Same here, do u guys have a EAS kernel or HMP?
Same issue, OOS 4.1.6
So nobody of the developers interested in this?
same here, 2 full wipes without success.
I seem to have the same problem on my S5. I'm on ResurrectionRemix 5.8.3 Nougat.
Battery draining is about 1%+ an hour when idle. In trying to solve this I have discovered a whole bunch of settings'n stuff to increase power-savings on android. I even use greenify, boeffla kernel, and I've turned of LTE.
My phone should now be the champion of battery life, but it only gets about 1/3 of what stock Marshmallow ROM gets. - !!! 1/3 !!! -
Someone mentioned clean flash? Sounds like magic. I mean, that's how I installed the rom in the first place...
I have the same problem. On my OnePlus5 though.
Mine is a staggering 99.4 wakes per minute though.
8771 total for *job.deadline* and 5204 for *job.delay*
I have both a Moto 360 and a Fitbit Charge 2 though. Possibly related to bluetooth and or android wear?
Suggestion: Try to get the latest stock firmware to update bootloader / modem. I did this and battery life improved 50%+ No more crazy wakelocks.
I already was on a very recent firmware, but getting a newer samsung firmware from a different region did the trick.
Edit: Battery still not as good as stock rom. That may be limitation of LOS or something else I don't know.
ive use the latest 4.1.6 stable and the beta 19 with the same issues (clean flashes), it takes no another effekt with or without root.
Same issue here. I found this when I googled it:
/** Deadline alarm tag for logging purposes */
private final String DEADLINE_TAG = "*job.deadline*";
Does this mean it's related to logging? Can I find out what app or how I can disable it?
Push! Same Problem here....
Same Problem here. Android has 2,0 Alarms per minute. After I closed all running apps Android went to 14 Alarms per hour. Next time when I get the failure I will see if I can find the exact App who triggered the problem.
Same issue here on Redmi Note 3 kenzo.
Resurrection remix 5.8.X, guyver kernel
same wakelock on redmi note 3 pro, nitrogen os. can i block it?is it an important wakelock

i have that problem too! LG G4, Resurrection Remix and Moto 360. Do other users experiencing this use a smartwatch or some other BT accessory?

Does the stock alarm app turns itself off in LOS 17.1?

Hi!
I use my old Moto E LTE (surnia) with Lineage OS 17.1 as a complementary alarm among other things. Today I left home but forgot an alarm turned on. I was wondering if it turns off by itself if you don't dismiss it, and if it does, how long does it sound?
I'm worried that it may annoy neighbors if it sounds all day long until the battery depletes.
Thanks!
