Bluetooth disconnect when screen off - Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra Questions & Answers

My Bluetooth disconnects whenever the screen turns off. This has been happening since the Oreo update. I have used Xperia Companion Software Repair, but it doesn't help. Network reset does help for a few hours but the issue always comes back. Anyone else have this problem, and did you find a solution?

Edit: I found that turning off wifi and wifi scanning fixes the issue.

I know this is an old post but dude you're a lifesaver. This was driving me nuts until I found your post!

Unable to scan for networks?

I'm really hoping this isn't a hardware issue as I would dread having to go get my EVO replaced and restore everything to how i have it, but I'm having an odd problem.
WiFi randomly stops working after a reboot sometimes. I turn it on, it scans for about 4-5 seconds, says "Unable to scan for networks" and then WiFi turns off. The only way I can solve it is by flashing back to flipz' stock rooted ROM. Reboots won't solve it, battery pulls won't solve it, turning on and off different networks won't solve it, nothing. Has anybody else had this issue or know how to fix it? Thanks guys.
did you update your firmware/software? the sprint rep had be update EVERYTHING before activating my phone.
yep. problem still occurs
After 2 days of testing I've narrowed it down to being either a setting or a corrupted system file from a backup. Hopefully it won't show up anymore.

Bluetooth stops working intermittently

I just got my Sprint GN a few weeks ago, and love using the bluetooth to connect to my car audio, but every 3rd or 4th time I get into my car I notice the bluetooth doesn't pair, so I take out my phone and look and the bluetooth icon is gray (instead of blue, indicating it has connected), I toggle the bluetooth off, and then when I try to turn the bluetooth radio back on it just sits there saying "bluetooth is turning on...". Bluetooth stops working until I reboot my phone
Does anyone have any incites into this or anyone else experiencing this?
I have the same issue. It's no solution but you can enable/disable Flightmode to get Bluetooth up and running again (but quicker then reboot).
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I'll give that a try (again) next time.. I am 100% certain I had tried that, though, unfortunately.
Yeah, I tried your solution again, and it just keeps saying "bluetooth is turning on..." even after I've turned *on* airplane mode.
Need some more information to be able to help you properly >_>
Stock ROM or Custom?
Rooted/Unrooted?
Or alternatively (Because it sounds like you're running a stock Galaxy Nexus...) ave you tried unpairing, and the repairing the devices?
Hi Zach,
Completely stock & unrooted (so far)
I actually did a complete factory reset a couple days ago, and the problem has yet to resurface, so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it's gone, but the issue was intermittent so there is no way to be completely sure it won't show up again.
If it does, I'll try your suggestion, thanks

Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues?

When i First got this phone It was working perfect, that was about 2 weeks ago. But now it wi-fi isn't working. It is stock and unrooted. The only time it will connect is if i turn off Wi-Fi on my phone then turn it back on. But then it will only stay connected for one minute before loosing it. And if it does stay connected it only shows one bar of signal strength even though I'm next to the router. Anyone else having this issue? I'm about to just factory reset my phone to see if it will fix this.

There have been quite a few reports of this issue, and the carriers should all have it as a documented bug so you should have no problems with an exchange. Weak wifi & wifi turning itself on have been a problem to many gs3 owners. I recommend calling your carrier & asking for a replacement.

Constant disconnecting

Hey guys. My watch keeps constantly disconnecting and connecting all day long. I've tried everything and still no luck. Is it a bug with the latest android wear update do you think? The app even sort of freezes when I open it sometimes where it doesn't display the watch I'm connected to and you can't do anything. Thanks for your help.
It seems to happen each time there is a notification. Ill do a test text to myself and when it comes through on my phone, instead of receiving it on my watch it starts the whole disconnect / connect process and by the time it finally connects, the notification is missed.
Thanks for your help.
Ryan.
I also have this issue. Then I reset the watch and everything runs fine for a few weeks. But then it suddenly acts up really badly. I've just done a reset after a complete malfunction, where it wouldn't even connect anymore.
EDIT: I contacted Huawei regarding this issue and they offered a waranty case as they suspect a defective BT unit.
I'm doubting. Especially if I would get a red-glow unit after a replacement, it would really be bad.

Bluetooth issue: No sound after reconnecting to paired device.

Anyone know a fix or heard of a fix? I have to restart my phone anytime i want to connect to a bluetooth device I have paired. The devices will connect but there is no sound unless I power cycle the phone first.
I can't be the only one. Anyone have or specifically NOT HAVE this issue?

You aren't the only one...I have the same issue. It's not necessary to restart the phone. You can turn airplane mode and then revert normal!

Cool, I'll give that a try.
Have you tried resetting the phone? I would be tempted to return the phone but ugh...with my luck i'd get one with even worse blue screen lol.
