I lost the original charger, what were its specs and what is the best replacement in? - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Questions & Answers

So I lost my charger some days ago and since our phone supports proprietary fast charging I wanted to know if there was a way to get a similar charger to work. I tried going to the service center but they don't have the replacement charger. Thanks.

Slow Charging

When I plug in my power adapter to charge the tablet more often now I get the Slow Charging notification that says battery is charging slowly due to low electric current of TA/USB connection. Any one else seeing this? I am using the stock charger supplied with the tablet. I have tried this on several AC outlets in several different locations. It does not seen to affect the ability to charge the tablet it just charges it a little slower.

Thanks for the reply. I am starting to think my power adapter is not putting out the correct current it should be. I will try using a different 2A charger and see how it goes.

You might also try a different cord!
You may try to install "battery monitor widget", it will tell you charging in USB mode or AC mode.
I also find the stock LG charger slow charging, the widget shows I'm only charging at around 1100mA max. While the charger itself label said Output 1.8A max. I can't reach this level yet.
If I charge with a stock nexus 7 charger (which is 2A rated), it'll get worse...just reach around 800mA max.
I'm still not sure what's wrong with the charger or the tablet itself...
I can say that the cable that came with the gpad does charge faster than a thinner cable I had. Both were tested plugged into the stock LG charger.
Sent from my LG-V500 using XDA Premium HD app
When I pulled my g pad out of the box and saw the stock charger was below 2A I put it back in the box. I charge my tablet with the 2A charger that my note 2 uses.
I've seen this problem intermittently with the stock LG charger and today it seems to have become a permanent fault. Swapping to my Note 3 charger things are back to normal once more. Swapping back and forth repeatedly the LG charger triggers the warning and the Note charger is fine. It looks like the LG charger is a bit rubbish. I'll press for a warranty replacement.
I have noticed mine recharges really slowly as well. Using the stock charger, and the battery app previously mentioned, it gives me about 1.1A from the stock charger. Using my Vita charger rated at 1.5A I get about 1.4 into the G Pad. It seems their charger just stinks.
I sent them a support query to see if they will replace it without hassle, if they want me to send it back I'll just buy something else instead.
Edit: Heard back from LG, they want me to send the whole thing back to them or return it to Newegg. Not sure why they won't just ship me a replacement charger, it would be much cheaper for them in the long run.

Further investigation revealed the original cable to be at fault, as it would not make a data connection with either of my laptops. Another cable from my old Galaxy Note worked perfectly. Even so there is still a question mark about the charger as well. Today I spoke to an LG support rep who promised to send a new charger and cable. They should arrive within five working days. I had read of mixed opinions on LG's support, but so far it all seems encouraging.

[Q] Charger for Z1C

Hi,
I'm the owner of a new Z1C and I'm wondering if it would be harmful for the battery to charge it with a normal usb cable different from the one supplied by Sony. I can imagine it should not be an issue, but I also tried to connect a older headphones to the Z1C and a popup warned me about a "Non-Sony headphones", so... I prefer to ask to be really sure.
Can I charge the phone with a normal usb cable? Thanks in advance,
I've actually been using the cable that came with my Kindle and it works perfectly, no issues at all. It charges quickly and I don't get any errors on my phone. I've also used the cable that came with my Ipega bluetooth controller and it works as well.
I would however recommend staying away from the wall adapters they sell at CVS/Walgreens near the front, and possibly the cables too. I noticed that whenever I plugged in my phone using the wall adapter, the touch screen wouldn't function properly and acted like every time I touched the screen, even if it was to quickly swipe, that I was pressing instead. Horrible.
I also use a non-Sony charger and it works fine. As long is it is a micro-usb charger it will be fine. Headphones on the other hand are different though like you said. I tried a pair of earphones from my older Sony Ericsson X8 and it tells me it is not a supported so yea...
Since the USB specification is quite rigorous there should be no problems, except for very cheap adapters which provide an unstable voltage.
Hello @dramatictone;,
It's safe to charge it with another charger as long as the ampere of the charger is not higher than 2A. However, most aftermarket chargers are rated at 1A, which means that it'll charge slower.
It's also important to buy a quality charger with the safety marks; if you don't want to risk burning down your house while charging over night. Don't buy those generic China chargers, they're not safe to use.
I hope my answer cleared any doubts.
Have a great day,

No problem, but remember to buy a quality charger and you'll be fine. However, any MicroUSB cable will be fine for charging, even cheap China ones

Yep. I had planned to use the official Sony charger at home and the oldie Samsung Galaxy S charger (or even a microusb cable) when charging the phone at the office, but I wanted to be really sure first: I've been using the phone for three days now and I have only had to charge it just once, so I don't want to damage the battery now that I have a phone that lasts more than one day

Note that the old Samsung chargers are rated at 0,7A, so it'll take some time to charge. Other than that it'll work just fine.

Touch screen issues while charging affecting all ZUK Z2's?

I was about to buy this phone, but then i saw this: https://youtu.be/l-MmWqNrCH4?t=195
Can anyone confirm there are touch screen issues when the AC charger is connected?
This seems to be pretty big hardware issue and i wonder if it does affect all Zuk Z2's...
Can anyone test this please?
Multitouch test app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.the511plus.MultiTouchTester&hl=en
Depends on the charger and socket output.
Like when I'm using it with qc3 charger plugged into 220v output socket, there is no such issue, but when plugged into 110v (tried on train's socket), you can see that problem.
This problem is basically with every phone.
Indian Lenovo Z2 Plus here on Stock Nougat
No issues here (stock charger on 220V AC)
Oh well, maybe i have to reconsider it then
Anybody using the device had this issue(Ghost touch)?

This is common for all Zuk Z2 devices.
Its a issue with the charger & not with the device as such. Try using any other good quality charger, this will not happen or if you want to be sure try charging with powerbank you won't face the ghost touch.
try different socket in different location. sometimes ground wire has problem in home which leads to this problem.
I recently bought the phone, and yes, I have experienced the issue quite a few times. But, only a few times. Most of the time, device touchpad works normally while charging. I think thr problem is with the old sockets. I use Stock provided charger. I have heard that it's common in many phones, so I'm ready to ignore it. Because anyways phone should not be used while charging.
With reference to my previous message, I noticed now that the device shows ghost touches while charging, only when device is charging at max speed and is quite hot. While charging, when the phone was between 50%-80%, it had become quite hot (Not too much though), and it gave me ghost touches quite a few times. I think device charges at it's max during these percentage. But when the phone crossed 85%, the device started getting a bit cooler, and I didn't experience the ghost touches at all.
Issue solved
Hi buddy I had the same issue .one day while I connect my z2 with laptop I see that its charging but no touch issue then I realised it need low power charger than that given charger .After that I use my tablet's 5v 1amp .It works nice and it take 2 and half hrs to fully charge .After that I did not face any touch issue.Thats why they does not provide fast charger.I brought my z2 6/08/2017 from flipkart

Which charger u using now ?
Is it a normal one or fast one ?
Sent from my ZUK Z2132 using Tapatalk
This is not a phone issue. Lenovo is selling **** quality chargers and cables. If you happen to know (https://www.amazon.com/gp/profile/amzn1.account.AFLICGQRF6BRJGH2RRD4VGMB47ZA) this guy then see his recommendations and buy a good charger or you might even fry your device. This is very dangerous. Shame on Lenovo.

I'm using motorola original fast charger of cellphone of my wife.
I'm also facing this problem. I have divorced parents, the charger that came in the box was a US adapter that I couldn't use. My brother used to have a ZUK z1 and I use his stock charger Together with the original Z2 charger. That one works well. I bought a Blitzwolf USB type C cable, a Tiegem QC3.0 cable and a wish.com charger with great reviews supporting Qualcomm QC3.0, but I recently discovered that zuk z2 uses a different type of fast charging. On the blitzwolf and Tiegem cable i have ghost touches and the phone gets very laggy, does anyone have recommendations? thanks in advance
How will an iPhone charger work.
My proposed solution
I bought this mobile few days back and since then I also have realised about this issue. This isn't ghost touch but the touchscreen becomes ultra reactive with higher input.
I used several apps and found another thing that if any charger inputs anything more than 1.4 amps, the mobile's screen becomes ultra reactive. But if the charger inputs upto 1.3 amps, it is ok. I keep using a charger that gives max output of upto 1.3 amps and I can even play games easily without any issue.
To measure the amps, I use app from play store which is free called Ampere. I am nowhere related to this app, you are most welcome to try this method out.

Non-Mix2 or Xiaomi chargers incompatible with Mix2?

I accidentally hooked up my P10 charger to my Mix2 and woke up this morning with the phone on 44%. Once I realized what happened I tried it again and noticed it came on showing fast charging but within 10 seconds stopped charging altogether. Meanwhile the Mix2 charger had no problems with my P10.
So where do you think the problem lies? Is the Huawei charger incompatible with the Mix2 or the Mix2 incompatible with other chargers? Anyone tried different chargers with their Mix2?
I have used multiple usb-c chargers and all work fine for me. Every QC3.0 charger should work fine. I use a blitzwolf QC3.0 charger as my primary charger.
The charger from my HTC One X+ wouldn't charge my Mix 2, but my ancient Blackberry charger does. Not sure where the incompatibility is.

That's my point. Does is have to be QC3.0? Every other phone I've owned worked with all chargers.

So it's the phone that's incompatible. I wonder why they'd do something so silly like this? Or is it a software bug?
So what 3rd party chargers would you recommend

I tried using a QC4.0 charger from my Z17 and it works without issues, but for some reason an old Xiaomi phone charger of mine didn't want to work. Probably as long as the charger supports QC, then it would be fine
My yoga 910 ultrabook charger works fine with mix 2, also aukey and powerbank without Quick Charge, only huawei charger wont work for me.
I use a Tronsmart WC2F and it charges my Mix 2 just fine.
I'm charging mine with the quick charger that came with my htc 10 with no issues. Just as fast as the xiaomi charger.
Being a Snapdragon platform most Qualcomm Quickcharge certified chargers should work.

I think you've solved the problem. The P10 is Kirin and likely not compatible with the Snapdragon 835.
I've been using my pixel xl charger because I recently picked up a mi mix 2 used and the QC 3.0 charger that was sent with it didn't work. This has been about two weeks and all seems fine. I watch it though and make sure the second it's 100% I take it off. I haven't left a phone on charge overnight since before the fast charge technology came out. I always take em off soon as they're at 100. Anyone think that's bad? I mean I have Google searched quite a bit and didn't see anyone using the of Pixel wall chargers for mi mix 2 but it was that or a Dash charger from my ole OnePlus and I'm quite sure Dash will toast anything that's not a OnePlus device. Lol

Question Poco f3 fast charge works then stops

Hi guys
I recently bought a poco f3 256g 8g ram, it's a great phone but one thing I have noticed is that when you try to fast charge it, it works then stops with the charging icon saying its charging even when you pull the charging cable out. I checked it with accu battery and it show that its not charging with minus amp age going in. You then turn the phone off and the charging icon resets. It charges fine when you don't use a fast charger and use a non fast charge brick. I don't have the original f3 charger but have tried my mate 20 Pro fast charge brick as well as my old s8 plus charger and new cables it only charges on a non fast charger. Any ideas anyone?
make sure the fast charger is 33W
Hi thanks for the reply are these phones really that sensitive to the the wattage, the charger I had is a 40w Huawei fast charger and the other a Samsung 18w both start to charge then stop and you cannot charge it with any charger until you turn the phone off. I have tried to get a official poco 33w charger but they are not easy to find.
i have used my 33W charger and another charger 18W fast charger and everything looks fine. if your phone is still under warranty, go to your nearest mi service center.
Hi I got it secondhand so I can't I'm afraid I'm sort of wondering if its a protocol thing as it charges fine with a non fast charger I might flash it in time and see if its a software issue, I can live without the fast charge but it would be nice to have the capability.

They are ... You need to look at what's written on the charger , not the big W numbers.
Original charger supplies 33W by using 11V and 3Amps.
Written like this on the charger : 11V=3A 33W
Nothing else will work , I for example use 6A cable and it does not charge well - the amps are enough as you can see but the cable most likely can't handle 11V...
Open google , search for authorised xiaomi repair center and buy charging brick/cable from them. Sometimes they too just pick random charger so you'll have to check when you receive it that both the cable is rated at 3A and the brick supplies 33W like written above

Yw. My reply above mainly covers how to get 33W charging , but I have no idea why it's refusing to charge?
Oddly enough I have the same exact issue happen like bi monthly... Pretty rare but usually happens when phone is REALLY hot ( mine is modified to allow higher temp ) + the charging port is fked and I'm using non compatible cable lol.
Is possible that every once in a while it all lines up so that the phone doesn't recognize charging brick due to bad port situation + it being rly hot sends it into some sort of charging lockdown?
Either way mine is very rare.
I suggest you first get the cable/brick those are like 20/30$ + I bet any repair store would ship it to you. Then if it still doesn't work you can start troubleshooting software/port/motherboard see where the issue is...

Hi thanks for the reply I have found a poco charger on ebay and a lead not too sure about the lead but I think its suitable. I'm not sure what's going on with it but I will let you guys know if it works. I did read somewhere that someone had a similar issue and that they disconnected the battery and after that didn't have a problem, I think I will try the charger first.
Hi guys got the charger connected it up works then goes into minus amps and stops charging until you turn it off again. So I'm wondering if its worth flashing it? Really frustrating

Hi guys just a quick update I connected it up the other day and watched the ampage and voltage go into minus again frustrated I just left it and came back 10 minute later and it charged. It turns out with the original charger it goes into minus amps and voltage but if you leave it it charges and ampage goes up with the voltage.if you disconnect the charger while its in minus amps and voltage it says its still on charge and you have to reset or turn the phone off before you can attempt to charge it again. But if just connected with the original charger without disconnecting it while in minus volt and amps it will charge and the volts and ampage starts charging. I have come to the conclusion its a glitch or bug in the charging protocol for the fast charging or software..
