[Oreo/Help] How to change SELinux mode to permissive in Honor 7x on Oreo - Honor 7X Questions & Answers

Hello friends , i want help to change SELinux mode to permissive.
Im using Indian Variant on Oreo Beta.
setenforce 0 in terminal command didnt work.
Thanks

The same issue on P10 lite EMUI8.0

There is an app called selinux switch but only works on rooted phone

There currently isn't a way to make it passive from what I can tell. The switch app doesn't do anything on oreo/emui 8

Doesn't work on the devices mentioned.

Can you change the title to read as a question please? This leads readers to think that this is an instruction on How to change SELinux mode.

You can set it to permissive by downloading the Morfuz kernel in the Kernel section, then using the SELinux Permissive module in Magisk, but if you are doing this to try and install Viper4Android, it only has 32 bit drivers and the honor 7x is 64 bit, so it won't work.

RR ROM try selinux enforcing but hang

Is there anyway to change RR v5.7.4 ROM to enforcing? Try using selinux switch or use the setting page it will hang/stuck when trying to turn selinux to enforcing.

Are you using MM blobs version?
If yes, don't change the SELinux status to enforcing!

I am using magisk 16.3, it have not any problem
With dev 8.6.21 can use magisk 16.4
Could you elaborate the requirement of safetynet and magisk hide? I'm a tyro here.
Please elaborate .I m also having same problem
Usually the only reason why magisk SafetyNET fails is that Xposed is installed in SYSTEM or in SYSTEM-LESS mode. If you want to pass SafetyNET, you have to remove xposed from the device itself, bc xposed is a framework modification and the framework is included in the SYSTEM, any modification of it would trigger SafetyNET Fingerprint check. Just like rooting a Samsung and triggering Knox, only safteynet fail can be reversed unlike Knox.
Hello, i tried to install Magisk and xposed, but i have bootloop ...
How to fix it, it is possible to install them on miui 10 last stable ?
Link for magisk, xposed framework ?

[magisk] fm radio for 8.1 stable

First of all a big Thanks! to @pocaropa.
This is a module to enable FM Radio for Oreo 8.1 Stable released Yesterday.
Be aware that this module disables signature verification and sets selinux to permissive, which could be a security issue for someone.
If you want to use FM radio on Oreo 8.1 stable with all functions (Bluetooth streaming, recording, favourite stations) you can flash this module.
If you don't want to leave it always enabled you can enable it only when you need it, then reboot phone.
I'm using it and i haven't found bugs so far.
Use ONLY in stock rom versions:
OPM1.171019.019.V9.6.3.0.ODHMIFE
OPM1.171019.019.V9.6.4.0.ODHMIFE
Enjoy:

Excellent work, thanks.
Straight into Classic FM station in the UK.
Thank you so much @sipollo, I'll use this on my second MiA1 device.
I've one MiA1 rooted with AEX and another one untouched with stock 8.1 which unfortunately still lacks of FM Radio app... Surely thanks to Google ? ... Same happened before with Moto Google devices.
Thank you...it's working

Hi,
after installing the mod on stock rom version OPM1.171019.019.V9.6.3.0.ODHMIFE, the radio crashes at every attempt to open it.
Any thoughts on why it's not working?
Thanks in advance

You are doing something wrong. You can't relock bootloader if you have root access. You can relock bootloader only if you have an unmodified system.
Hi,
Thanks for your prompt reply
Yes, I now know that but didn't when I first rooted the phone using mi A1 tools.
Phone is currently on Oreo 8.1 OTA official update. Rooted with magisk and bootloader unlocked.
I would appreciate any help on a free-data solution to radio FM, as I am currently using test developer (not the best) option
Thanks in advance

This module should work for you.
Check if there is an app that changes selinux state during boot. This module sets selinux to permissive at boot, maybe there's another app that switch selinux to enforcing after that. With selinux enforcing you get errors in FM radio app.
Could you recommend any tool to check and mod (if needed) selinux status?
I can see several on play store, but don't want to toggle with unneeded features, just the one to make your mod working...
Thanks in advance

Search for Selinux switch here in XDA.
Reinstalled the mod and now it works!
The 8.1 updates was halted by Xiaomi so I did not get it, is there a module for 8.0?
Thank you!

hi any one know pliz if i can install edxposed framework on samsung galaxy s20+ rooted with lineage recovery ? Thanks
And another question if after rooted with lineage recovery i can update magisk manager and magisk directly with magisk manger ? Thanks

Ok thanks will test
I had an issue with random reboots. Once they started it seemed like it would reboot 4 or 5 times and then it would stop. Did it once a day at least. Installed Vanced and removed Edxposed. No issues since. Could've been the app to go along with getting Vanced working but i froze it and it still happened so i dont know. Removing Edxposed completely and the apps to get Vanced working stopped the random reboots though.
@Fuzzy13
you must have done something wrong... everything works flawless with those xposed magisk modules + xposed manager + vanced from magisk repo.

thank you mate for your reply but i also tried this without luck
and i searched about this problem and i found it is because the kernel enforce selinux so i flashed the custom kernel (jimbok) and turned it to permissive and it worked now without any issue .
i need a way to change stock kernel to permissive because the way i use didn't work
i use terminal command ''setenforce 0'' it doesn't change anything in stock kernel but it worked with the custom one

That's weird I gotta say.
I have the setup I mentioned and everything works flawlessly (along with latest magisk canary). My SM-G985F with stock firmware is running on enforcing selinux, as it should.

i think your device not a snapdragon version so you dont have this issue
because i saw in https://github.com/ people like me using snapdragon fold 2 and tab s7+
im not good enough to understanding why but i found this
(The interesting thing about the failure on the Fold2, a Snapdragon device, is that a dependent feature of RKP, namely CONFIG_KDP_CRED, stops 2020 Samsung Snapdragon devices from booting when the EdXposed Magisk module is enabled.
My hope is that fixing this RKP patch in Magisk will have the side-effect of allowing 2020 Samsung Snapdragon devices to boot EdXposed with the device's stock kernel.)
and in the end someone said you must use permissive to fix the boot loop
im waiting a fix for that or someone guide me to make the stock kernel permissive because it is not easy like before

This method is not recommended due to A/B partitions and current TWRP development for A12/13.

I use root for two main purposes: ad blocker in hosts (as I also use VPN service, so I don't want to keep VPN busy with ad blocker) and removal of bloatware with magisk debloater.

Xiaomi.eu ROM for 12 Turbo / Poco F5 with root is great, because one can install among others ad-block apps such as AdAway and block all ads in apps (Youtube excluded). I rooted xiaomi.eu (via magisk and "boot.img") couple of days ago and it's working great. You're right, when you wouldn't recommend rooting via TWRP and flashing magisk.zip for the reasons you mentioned in post #4 above.
Have any of you tried installing viper4android magisk?
A lot of devices are being unable to install the old viper 4 android. I know there's a 64bit version now that usually works on devices that can't install the other one. It doesn't have all of the features it's missing headphones surround sound and gain increase. Which are the two best features of the whole vipers situation. So I want to purchase a Poco F5 or F5 pro. So I am wondering if viper is working?
You'll probably have to install magisk delta canary latest build because the new magisk v26.1 won't work with viper now either. It will work if you Install viper with magisk delta and then switch to magisk official v26.1.
Normally what you do is you install the busy box module, The James DSP 4.6 module, Selinux permissive module, audio modifications library 4.2 module and the viper for Android module finally. You don't have to use the James DSP but sometimes it corrects problems in the system to get viper to work. I'm not sure how much you guys are aware so I am trying to cover everything.
Pixel 6, 7 pro it won't work on. My tab S8 plus, S22 and S23 ultra it won't work on. Pixel 7 pro with AOSP roms make it work when those are available.
